      • Sold this afternoon. Buyer paid the postage too so I received net $1249.70 as eBay took $0.30 fee

        • That means you're juggling 3 phones so you can sell your S23U before you get the S24U.

          What luxury haha

  • -1

i've tried my absolute best to buy a s24 snapdragon from the US and it's basically impossible without a US credit card. they have overly strict prohibition rules when it comes to what billing address goes in the order. plenty of stories where you might be able to circumvent the order page and get a confirmation, only for the order to be cancelled after. bestbuy even actively ensures goods don't get sent to freight forwarders.

The retailers i've tried are Samsung US and bestbuy. I would've paid about $1,275aud just for the base S24 with only 256gb, or with the offer, i could've gotten 3 cases (leather, silicon and shield) for $1,321aud. Then I would've had to pay the forward shippers another $45 to get it to me in WA via DHL.

At which point, i find it difficult to justify the purchase anymore. I do like everything about the S24 bar the exynos chip, but i need more reviews to at least prove it performs better than the SD8Gen2, especially with battery life before i commit to a local handset. Even the idea of going back to exynos irks me or the fact that Samsung is willing to screw over Global customers just like that.

  • +1

Couldn't pass on the offer. Total cost just over $700 for Ultra 256GB. Trading in a S21.

The S21 cost me approx. $500 when it was first released. There was a similar 'deal' at the time.

    • Same here. S21 still going strong but for the price and locking in another 7 years of os updates why not upgrade. Will just have to wait and see how long it takes to get used to the larger phone.

  • This may be a stupid question: I've never done a trade-in. If i'm happy to trade in a value something of $1 or $5 to get the bonus but have no intention of actually sending in a device and accept up to a $60 fee, do i need to provide a serial number or a real IMEI for a phone or other device during the ordering process for a S24 ultra ???

    • Yes you need the IMEI

    • +1

I think for under $100, admin fees is only $30.
I have only paid 30 in the last two years.

If you choose watch, it will take any gibberish serial number

      • +1

random gibberish also works when choosing Tablets

    • +3

I just googled IMEI generator and clicked the the first site. It spat out a number and the website accepted it no problem.

  • +1

Samsung Australia Chat told me S24 Ultra in Australia has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip! Is this true? How do I check from the model number?

    • Yes already been confirmed multiple times

    • yes its true. only the Ultra has it in Australia and Europe etc

    • +1

      S24 Ultra has Snapdragon globally.

Any experience with Samsung care device refresh? Thinking about getting this done before i send my trade in as there's a couple very light scratches on my screen but worried i won't get it back in time. They say two business days but is this accurate? They also say it depends on stock levels which makes me nervous.
Or do the trade in team not care about light scratches? The questions actually didn't mention scratches when i submitted the trade in.

    • +1

Light scratches should be fine. I traded in previously with small scratches and even a small dent. They do send out the new device quite quickly the only issue would be to log into your care plus account and see if there is any device available for exchange.

      • Thanks. I assume they probably replace the screen to re-sell the phone anyway. Samsung care have no stock…seems like a bit of a worthless program lol, certainly wouldn't pay for the Samsung care product!

        • Keep checking as they restock daily based on my experience with S22 Ultra exchange. You even have the option to choose a different colour so if you have the exclusive colour you might end up exchange to the different colour or wait until your colour come up.

          • @SR9: Don't really have time now. I've lodged my s22 ultra for trade in. The scratches are minor but there's a couple of them, they don't impact the usage of the phone. I just don't want the trade in people to reduce the value because of them. Will see what happens.

      • I just sent my s22 ultra for a refresh a day before the launch. Costs me $45 for screen replacement (no other defects). I still have not heard back from them, and it has already reached their facility.

Now, after the launch I traded in the same phone with the IMEI code for $555. Let's see what happens. I did call them to make sure they don't send the device for trade-in when my screen is broken, and they promised me that it is highly unlikely for it to happen. Will update once they communicate.

        • Gosh yeah the two business day turnaround doesn't seem very accurate. Let me know how it goes. Fingers crossed!

          • @meowmeowmeow: it did reach them within two days! so now crossing off the weekend, they should contact me on monday!

            • @Banana Psykohunter: Hope so! I feel like I've left it too late to send mine in. Hopefully they don't deduct any trade in value for minor scratches…

              • @meowmeowmeow: they might! :(

                • @Banana Psykohunter: Let me know how you go and how long it takes, I' still considering sending my s22 in but worried it will take longer than 2 business days…

                  • @meowmeowmeow: I'm wanting to send in my S22 for a refresh as well but it has a few scratch/graze marks on the corners of the device. Would this count as a damaged device? Works perfectly fine otherwise

                    • @Emblex: That's the exact issue i have lol, i'm hoping it counts as normal wear and tear but it's not clear in the Ts & Cs. I was hoping to send it in for refresh as well but a bit nervous about the timeframes!

                      • @meowmeowmeow: I've traded in another device that I won't be sending in. I think I can sell the s22U on marketplace for more - didn't want to risk getting dinged with additional charges for damaged phone. Then I saw someone else mention the Samsung care which I remembered I have too lol

I've got a few weeks left before my care plus sub expires… So I'll probably try send it in for a refresh when the s24u arrives. Would be good to see what type of condition others have been able to send in for a refresh.

                        • @Emblex: You still need to pay for the refresh, so may as well just take the $30 no return fee.

                          https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/samsung-care-plus/

                          • @CodeXD: Sorry to clarify - I'm trading in an old iPhone with the $1 broken screen which I intend to keep so cop the $30 no return fee.

But to maximise resell value of the s22U I'm wanting to consider a refresh or swap. After looking at your link, I think I'm after the swap. I got confused with what the refresh service does. The swap cost is high but I think having a fresh refurb unit would be an easier device to sell.

                            • @Emblex: They don't have any stock to swap a s22U at the moment, but i guess they'll have plenty of stock after everyone sends their S22U's for trade in lol

                        • @Emblex: I was thinking of doing the same, sending for refresh after i've transferred all data to the s24, and hope it gets back in time so i don't get pinged with a late fee. I can't not send the trade-in as they will deduct $525 plus the $60 late fee so that's not an option.

                          • @meowmeowmeow: Ah gotcha. I was initially thinking of trading in my s22U but with the corner dints I wasn't sure if they'd deduct more from the initial claimed value. Plus I think I can get similar price on marketplace for the s22u as it is (well I hope)

                            • @Emblex: If you don't want to trade, then just use the device. Still pretty solid and will run smooth for few years! Still a beast! I only traded as got a sweet deal out of it.
                              1288 for S24U 512 GB and Watch 6 classic 47mm 4G after trade-in.
                              Got $555 for S22U 512 GB, $70 for watch 4 classic Bluetooth trade-in value.

                  • @meowmeowmeow: So my s22U got delivered after repair at some point today! Device looks brand new, and only got charged $45 for cracked screen at the bottom.

  • Finally pulled the trigger on the S24 Ultra 512GB for effectively $1104.69

    - 5% app discount (use samsung app, only works for android phones to see mobiles catagetory, doesn't appear on ios)
    - GALAXYAI generic code

Used the cancelation trick on the SmartTag2s

    thanks ozbargain!

    • What's the cancelation trick on the SmartTag2s?

      • Basically, after placing the order you immediately go to the order page and once the status changes to "Order accepted" you can cancel any accessories you don't want and get a refund for them

        • Thanks for explaining

  • Anybody know will they take a older Apple wifi iPad as a trade or older galaxy tablet with Android 5 on it?

ps: I only have the Samsung Store App and no Edu email. 🙄

  • Anyone else having issues with their IMEI number if trading in iPhone?

    • +1

Find My Phone has to be turned off

  • needs to be updated - $200 CME voucher only applicable to s24 ultra now.

just got the base model S24 with 256gb for $481 with 1x leather case 1x silicon case

    • How did you get it to $481? Did you trade in a device?

      • sorry yes i forgot to mention - i traded in my S22 for $390 + $250 trade in bonus

although now im having issues actually checking out from the edu store on the app…

  • Anyone having issues applying Samsung Reward points? When I apply it, instead of deducting the amount, it adds the amount to the order, making it more expensive with it… And GALAXYAI code disappears.

    • +2

I figured out why. It's because the reward points reduces the accessories spend, so I ended up add another item and GALAXYAI came back.

  • How do we cancel the accessories only? Is it from the cancel order option shown on full order ?

    • Yes, click on the cancel button then it will ask you to select what you want to cancel.

    • Also wanting to know how to cancel the accessories

  • I selected accessories in Cancel Order popup, but The confirm cancellation button remains greyed out even after selecting the reason.

    • did you also tick the box of each accessories ?
its on the left of each item

      • I can confirm I was able to cancel the accessories I no longer wanted

    • What accessories do you have? Someone commented saying that watch/watch band won't let you cancel for some reason. So if you ordered that, then don't select it and see if the rest of them cancels.

EDIT: confirmed below you are trying to cancel watch/band lol

Lesson is if you want to cancel accessories, don't get the watch.

    • I had the same issue in Shop app but was able to cancel by loging on to account through browser. Hope that helps

  • Yes I did

    • Use samsung chat and see if they can cancel for you

      • That will be tomorrow after 9m now.

        • +1

Good thing your items won't ship until Feb lol

We want you to experience all your products together!
All items in the order will ship on the pre-order shipping date: 07 Feb 2024

  • i've been trying to order for hours to buy a S24 ultra . First the $350 of accessories i picked some didn't appear at the end to apply the GALAXYAI code so it failed. I was going via the Shop app , then selecting the educational portal.

I then tried on the desktop web browser. Now when i get to accessories, the web page appears but a blue line goes across the screen like a timer . it won't let me click on anything on the web page . looks like its overloaded ? tried 2 different web browser . Any one else ?

Also to clarify , some instructions say DO NOT select trade in at the start of the process , say no, then add a trade in at the end after you've added the GALAXYAI code on the later screen . Is this correct ?

  • Has anyone got a code for normal S24 from chat? My mum wants one but the CME codes only for the Ultra models.

    • +2

There is no unique/targeted code for s24/s24+

      • I am on the chat line now waiting to ask for something :P

        • let me know if you get anything

          • @plentifoo: The chat said there is nothing for S24/S24+ models as CodeXD mentioned above. Even after telling them, I already ordered a S24 Ultra for myself.

            • @GerrardLFC: The CME codes only for the ultra, don't think anyone got a code for S24 or S24+

  • i'm on the edu store on samsung shop app and it won't take any of my payment methods. it just dumps me back to the payment details screen. then it logs me out of the app after multiple tries.

    • +1

Yeah it did that to me too when I was placing my order.
First time it wouldn't accept my CC
Second time it logged me out right after I entered my 2FA code from my bank (scared the shit out of me but thankfully it didn't charge me)
Third time round I cleared everything from my cart and started from scratch and went through flawlessly. /shrugs

      • was this the app?

i don't even get an error message, it literally load circles each payment then just back to the payment screen like nothing happened. i've tried 3x credit cards and Gpay.

i've tried reloading the app at least 3 times now and my patience is wearing thin. the lady on customer support was useless, just told me to wait, close the app then try again.

worst part was the trade in provider has already made a security charge on my credit card even tho my order hasn't even went through yet.

        • Yeah I was using the app. Same exact thing - just went back to the payment screen without warning.

NFI exactly why my order went through when it did but I do get the feeling their servers were getting hammered because even browsing the web store felt quite slow/laggy

    • +1

Something in your cart has probably gone out of stock

      • No error message or nothing. I tried an order with just the phone and it still wouldn't go through.

It'll be helpful if an error message showed up at all.

At what point does it tell you an accessory is out of stock?

After I input my credit card details and click to pay, it would just go back to the payment screen and it almost feels like I have to press another button to proceed but the payment really shouldve processed at that point.

  • Anyone with experience know Asurion will accept minor damage (crack) to touchscreen at bottom of phone? What's the worst case scenario if sent in?

    • They will contact you with a counter offer for you to accept or decline.

      • thank you, is it a big difference in terms of price when you experienced it??

        • Depends on the damage and what they decide to take off.

    • I called the Samsung store yesterday to ask about minor cracks, as I have one on my S22 camera lens, they said it will significantly decrease the value.

I also read somewhere that they don't send phones back…

  • +1

Got a ultra titanium blue 256gb for $634.12, trading in a s21 ultra for 360 and using the cancellation.

Mine seems a bit lower than others have mentioned, not sure what i did haha.

    Insane deal!

    • +1

Nice one! I got my titanium blue 256gb for $730 including the care plus for 2 years and ended up keeping the case and screen protector. Traded in a 22 ultra. What a great deal this turned out to be.

  • I ordered 1tb+buds2 pro+clear case+clear gadget case+screen protector.
When I want to cancel the accessories, I find I ordered wrong colour…
I don't want to lose 5% off. So I cancelled all case as well…
I have a question, can I change the colour by Samsung chat?

  • Ended up with 256gb ultra, plus trio charger (65w), clear case and screen protector for 796, trading my overheating pixel 7 and cancelling buds 2pro.

  • What happens if you trade a phone with a working but non genuine screen?
I know they have a software to check the replaced hardware components

    https://www.3u.com/

  • Is this the best deal one will get or would it get cheaper later in the year?

    • Seems one of better deals given the bonuses… based on previous s23 posts

      • Assuming I've got nothing of trade-in value i.e. I only get the trade in discount but no actual trade-in, would that still be the same?

    • If there's a better deal it won't be by much.

      • Yeah thought so. It's just frustrating that the stupid app doesn't accept my payment.

    • This is the best deal. Even last year, pre-order had the best stack of coupons and discounts.

  • Anyone know what the refund process for accessory cancellation is like through Afterpay, cancelled a 4 pack of smart tags and a case and price has updated in samsung orders page but not on Afterpay. Hopefully didn't just cancel them for nothing.
But anyways got a 512GB S24 Ultra in Titanium Violet, 65W trio, silicone case, clear gadget case, 4 pack smart tags and flipsuit case for $1,371 where the phone itself was $1,093 of that. pretty happy ngl and hoping I won't miss the big screen on my fold 3, was a tough decision to try a candy bar style phone again but the S24 Ultra just looks too nice

    • i used afterpay, there should be an email where it says "return processed" and a new payment schedule will be in the email. have not get said email yet though

  • Traded in Watch 5 40mm WIFI+LTE model for $145, got 3x Air Tag 4 pack, and the Flip case for $1323 after the GALAXYAI, Bonus 250, CME, EDUC, and 5% first shop discount. Canceled the 3x Air Tags. Got the 512gb model down to $1018. Was there anything I could've done to lower the price?

    • -1

Yaa $0 by not buying it

  • Anyone tested out the s24Ultra vs s23 Ultra camera. I think you can not really substitute or make up for reduced optical zoom. Can get close. Thoughts?

  • so many accessories are unavailable now. should have bought yesterday!

  • Can anyone confirm if they managed to put through an order in the past 2 hrs?

Incredibly frustrating for me. I've tried on 2 computers, 2 mobile phones with the Samsung shop app with different Samsung accounts (one was education and the other a regular one) and each time I get to the payment step, I can't proceed further.

Ive tried GPay, and 3 different credit cards but it would ask for my security code, I would key it in and it'll just get returned to the payment page like nothing happened.

Same with GPay. I've tried this at least 5 times, clearing the cart and redoing it and was even willing to order without education discount on my standard Samsung account because I just wanted to narrow down what the problem was.

    • check your accessories in cart are still in stock. heaps going OOS.

      • so you can add them to the cart but they're actually OOS?

        • im saying after adding them, they may be. just a thought to check. if the item says 'get stock alert' and its in your cart on the other page, its likely just gone OOS.

you cant add OOS stuff once it goes out.
