Probably the lowest price this year. NSW-based store, but I got free delivery to Melbourne.

990 has a decent sub. Much stronger than the 930. Should be more than enough for a standard living room
Thanks
If you are looking for bass wait for the Klipsch 300
@BlueGlowOne: Oh very nice thanks.
Really like the 12 inch subs and that they are wireless
Any indication of price and release date?
$1123 - HW-Q990D - https://www.ebay.com.au/p/24066975467 with code "SAVEBF"
Thanks, how you find it in terms of bass?
I don't really have much context for a comparison but compared to TV speakers on my S90D it's pretty great.
Thanks
Bass is alright. I found I had to turn all the other levels down and put bass up highest and then just turn the volume up so I could hear treble / mids.
I was also a little disappointed in the surround / rear speakers. Can barely hear them. I saw a thread on reddit which suggested a workaround where you reduce rear speaker volume to -6 and front speaker to +6 and then turn it all off and on and "reset" the sync between the soundbar and satellite speakers. Basically fools it into thinking the speakers are super far away. And then increase rear speaker from -6 back to say +3 and then bring the soundbar from +6 down to 0. Then you can hear the rear speakers better.
However, I haven't done that yet… Overall was a little disappointed in how they turned out for nearly $1k.
Thanks, were you meaning there better options for 1k
@ATTS: Nah. I hadn't looked into alternatives. Just disappointed in that $1000 didn't go further.
For the media room I've got a 7.1 Polk system with a old second hand receiver. I just waited for really good sales on individual elements and it came to around $1500. But it sounds wayyyy better for only $500 more.
Based on my experience with the Samsung soundbar, the "bouncing sound" off walls etc is just a gimmick. I couldn't tell any difference. If it was me I'd buy a cheaper soundbar with less channels and save my money. I'd probably do what omblyrgombly mentions below. Like just get the 930d or similar.
/edit: I'm also in my 40s so my hearing isn't what it used to be either. đź‘Ť
@Name: Thanks for detailed post
I was also disappointed in the surround / rear speakers.
Yeah, I just bought the 930d for $761 on Friday - price match at JB and have found the rear speakers very low. Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a go later today.
If you don't want the 2.1 HDMI then just go with the 930D, it's exactly the same as the 990D minus the 2.1. Maybe there's some extra stuff with peeps who have a Samsung TV too, but that doesn't apply to me. Very happy with the Atmos, a first with me. Compared to my 5.1 system, it does movies well, maybe 80% as well without Atmos, but the Atmos makes it better. But I still will use my 5.1 for music. For the price, I highly recommend these systems, my separates cost about $2, 500 (RRP about $4, 500) over 10 years ago
Any chance you have a link to the reddit post?
For the price you pay, this is probably the best available in the market. No complaints for the bass, you may have to change the levels to see what suits the most in the room you have set this one up.
I am super happy with mine, location of the satellite speakers really help with the surround experience, I have put mine on stands behind my couch.I c thanks
Depends on your use case.
For Dolby Atmos movies it is more than enough.
But music is not as satisfying as traditional surround systems or LG, Sonos or Sennheiser sound bars and subs.
But in general great bang for the buck.
Thanks mainly for music.
I got it from JB HI FI two days ago for about $1129 after a couple of 5% gift cards (Price matched at $1179).
I also got the 5 year warranty for the same price. Was thrown in by the sales rep. Not a bad deal considering it only comes with a 1 year warranty.
Sounds great. Couldn’t be bothered waiting for another couple of hundred off. Don’t think with this, just buy.
I was able to price match from AppliancesOnline at JBHiFi. Total amount came down to $1098
If you create a new account in AppliancesOnline it will provide you $30 discount promo code. This will drop the price from $1128 to $1098
This might only work if you walk to the JB-Hifi cause Live chat won't match the price.
Unfortunately they dod not give me 5 years warranty but just a standard warranty of 2 years.
does JB HI FI do price match with ebay ?
I just did a live chat with JB Hi-Fi asking them for a price beat. They offered $1133 + $18.99 delivery.
I then did a live chat with TGG (I know they're both part of the JB Hi-Fi Group) and they simply offered to match Appliances.
I didn't take JB Hi-Fi up on their offer so if anyone wants to use the link above you'll have to act before 9:59pm today.
I know hardly normal is not the store most want to hear about but they price matched to $1165. They also have this offer "Receive 10% off your purchase price back in Harvey Norman Gift Cards! Ends 2.12.24". You can also get Harvey Norman gift cards with 4% off from any reward program easily. Price comes down to $1118.40 if you buy with gift cards and you also get the $116.5 a HN gift card on top, which makes it a pretty good deal.

Let me know if you know if a better deal.
Thanks for posting, I was able to get this instore for $1128 from JB Hifi with 3 year replacement warranty. Threw in a Wahl clipper/trimmer set, unruly beard may be a prerequisite for this though.
Anyone getting <$1,200 pricing in Perth? I'll try my luck to price match in store tmrw but the two lowest retailers are charging for shipping (Appiance Central and Powerland).
For those reading, AO dropped their price to 1154 + free delivery. HN wouldnt price-match as they have the 10% back thing.
Bought super swap GC for 4% off so paid ~$1110. Gonna pick up soon!
Now $1148.
Now $1128 at Appliance Online
Seriously considering this, how is the bass?
