    • OEM

  • Any chance to add an upgrade option for 6000mhz CL30 32 GB RAM?@luketechfast

    • Not our thing, apologies.

  • I'm still sad I missed the i9 deal :( I thought "I should ask my fiancee before spending a heap of money"… She said yes, but by then it was too late :(

I just want AfterEffects to not hate me!

  • The 4080 / 7800x3d deal is incredible

  • How does the 4090 deal compare to the i9 deal from last week realistically?

    • Less cores on the AMD CPU so it's not as good at productivity but absolutely smokes the competition for gaming.

  • I know the answer but I'll ask anyway. Any i9s?

    • We sold what we could get hold of sorry

      • What about a gpu upgrade on the 12700? If I were to get the i9 later, would there be an issue re. Mobo compatibility on the prebuilt, just trying to get some ideas here

        • i9 would slot into the LGA1700 socket just fine and be perfectly compatible, although being such a high powered chip this B760 might not be the best board for it. An i9 upgrade further down the line is not really taken in the scope of this build overall, tbh.

          • @luketechfast: Okay thanks for that I might think about it for tonight and do some research, appreciate the help

  • Oh finally a system that can run Cities Skyline 2! Great deal!

  • Am I able to swap the m.2 for a regular SSD in the order? Would like to put my current m.2 into this new rig!

    • That doesn't generally work amazingly well with drivers etc if you're planning on keeping the bootable OS on your current drive. For keeping your data accessible on the m.2 only it would probably be OK if the boot priority was set to the SATA SSD. So in theory yes, but potentially a little more complicated. Maybe email [email protected] to discuss

  • I do a lot of video editing for my YouTube channel and photo editing that includes processes like stacking hundreds of photos (Astro photography for example) and I also enjoy gaming in my free time, including newer big titles.
A new PC would see more time on the work side of things I guess.

From what I am reading, am I correct in going for an Intel processor, rather than AMD, when looking at comparable machines in this situation?

Thanks very much in advance from a bit of a PC novice.

    • +1

Productive wise Intel is better (more cores) and if you video editing get a CPU with onboard GPU as well as standalone GPU. It helps video processing speed. (So a 13600K for example not 13600KF)

      • Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated.

      • Orly - I didnt realise that. I thought for the GPU accelerated tasks the standalone GPU would be more than adequate. I really need a 13700k PC for this it seems.

        • I read some professional software can use both to boost performance. You should check review on the net. Price difference between K and KF model is not huge anyways.

          • @jenesis33: Yes, your right. Seems a lot of the video editing apps can use both and some can actually use 2 x standalone even like Resolve. Thanks for the info!

  • Are you guys unable to get faster ram? (6000)

      • Yeah… not much of an explanation there ;)

        • i think he said something about 6000 having issues and not wanting to deal with it, so they just offer this

          • @botchie: Ok that's weird..
            I've got 6000 and it's fine…

            • @Krondorf: AMD's 'official spec' is that 7xxx supports up to 5200 Mhz, lots of computer places wont go above the recommendation.
I am not sure the real reason thought but they did say they wont touch 6000

              • @botchie: I've had alot of issues running 6000 on 7700

                • @RobotWizard: thats annoying it cant utilize the speeds of ddr5
I got myn running at 6400 but im on i5 13600k, even this is above what intel recommends, which is 5600
feels like ddr4 was still sufficient and I wasted $$ going ddr5 route

  • God im tempted, hopefully theres still stock when i get paid next week 🥲

  • Luke - can you do a discount code for this one?

  • Is there a store in Sydney for pick up or delivery only ?

  • For noise reasons does the default 4080 case, MSI MAG Forge 112R [ATX] Case, have fan control? Can't seem to find a definitive answer online.

    • +1

usually you can set those in BIOS, its liquid cooled as well so wont need fans on at full

      • +1

It’s a 120mm, the fan noise will definitely not be quiet

  • Any options to use air cooler instead of an AIO?

  • Are there any budget $600-900 deals coming for Black Friday/Cyber Monday? Thankyou.

  • Hey @luketechfast any sub 1k builds?

  • +1

    Perfect time :)
    thanks, bought the 4090

  • Hi guys, im looking at the 4090 build and just wanted some input on what to upgrade?

Case and cooler maybe? I kept hearing im better off with 6000mhz ram with the 7800x3d but unsure if thats still being pushed

  • Is the RTX 4090 suitable and powerful enough to work with the Samung Odyssey 57 monitor?

    • It's basically the only options. From my understanding it doesn't have DP 2.1 so won't be able to use the max 240hz refresh rate. (Happy to be proven wrong).

I believe the 7900xt has DP2.1 but the 4090 is a bajillion times more powerful, personally I'd rather frames vs refresh rate

      • Such an odd scenario having the 4090 not support the highest DP specs.

    • It will give the best performance but you will be stuck at 120hz, can’t use 240hz without an AMD card with DP2.1

  • @luketechfast

Will you release any machines with good CPUs but standard non-gaming GPUs?

  • +1

    @luketechfast
Do we get the Avatar game promo with the 7800x3D?

  • Deal looks good, just wish there were some options for some nicer looking cases

  • Are you guys located in Adelaide? I feel like it’s going to be a massive pain in the butt sending stuff interstate. I’m not a technical person as well so will have no idea how to test etc when there’s issues.

  • Anyone particular recommend any upgrades on the 4080 7800X3D?

    • +1

I'd upgrade to the 850w PSU and request an MSI PSU (if available) in the order notes. Most other upgrades are overpriced / more straightforward to add later

  • They've sold out of 4080s by the looks of it, tried to add it to my basket but couldn't, I deliberated too long :(

    • Same. Feels not so good.

  • Luke any chance of any budget sub 1k productivity builds? quiet and efficient with good storage and no rgb? or even with budget GPU ok

  • Posted the 4090 deal to a friend who ordered, then I missed out. Ouch!

    • +1

No good deed goes unpunished. My heart goes out to you.

      • +1

I had the same with the i9 build but I sent it to my son

        • +1

That’s the problem with society… too many present fathers.

  • Hi Luke, is there any possibility to get more of your intel build?

  • +1

Genuine humdinger. Pretty shattered I missed the 4090 deal. This is nearly the same price as just upgrading my current system to using one (need new case and new psu). Hope a deal like this pops up again in the early new year.

  • I managed to snag an i7 before it sold out, and I'm going to upgrade the RAM and put in a new nvme, I cannot find the exact mobo on pcpartpicker, does anyone know if any ram and any gen4 nvme's would be compatible with the b760?

  • Please bring back the 4090 deal!!!!

  • Wish I jumped on the 7800x3d and 4080 deal rather than The one from Nebula
