Patrick Bateman - "Oh My God, It Even Has A Watermark."

  • interesting. how much for the 4070 ti on its own?

  • +1

What motherboard do you use in these? The specs mention the chipset rather than motherboard model.

    • -5

It's in the drop down below - AMD B650 [M-ATX] Motherboard

      • +3

Thats not the model number of a specific motherboard. Just stating the chipset and board size

        • +1

With a deal like this, I would assume that they haven't said because it'll be whatever they can get their hands on cheaply (and the same goes for RAM). You could assume an Asrock board perhaps? Or maybe even Biostar at the cheapest? I think if you're worried about such things, TechFast might not be the pre-built avenue for you. At least the PSU is gold rated, which is nice

          • +1

@Demarque: Yeah it's not that I expect something specific, but knowing if it's likely to be one of a few different models/brands would be nice. More concerning would be if it's some non-branded OEM part with limited public information, which can make troubleshooting difficult when required.

            • @tbone74: That's the compromise you accept for going this route. My own build a few years ago came in quite a bit more than an equivalent pre-built price, but I was able to build a near silent system with high quality parts. I'm grateful for having a quiet build but whether or not the quality of my parts was worth the premium, compared to an equivalent cheaper system, when the amount of pixels they can throw on the screen is equivalent - I'm not sure.

I think these prebuilts are great for making high end specs accessible to more people though.

              • @huggsymersh: it's usually biostar or some other non branded mobo, cant remember the name

                • @cephh: It's the non branded possibility that is a no go for me. I found some info that suggests these "AMD" boards are an OEM board from Allied Gaming. I'd prefer to pay an extra $50 for a known brand, wouldn't need to be anything premium.

                  • @tbone74: yep, allied gaming is the one. My friend bought one not to long ago just forgot the name.

They're asking about the Brand & Model. AMD B650 is the chipset.

The motherboard in the pictures looks to be the Asus Prime B550M-K, but that's a B550 motherboard, so not indictive of what you'll get in the final product.

If it was anything like mine probably Gigabyte B650M.

    • I purchased this in the September deal and it came with a gigabyte B650M - If that helps at all

In real life terms, do you lose that much out between a 4070ti and 4080? The huge price difference is just massive…..

    • Probably not much at 1080p 60 fps gaming, but higher resolutions and framerates 1440p+ 120Hz+ the difference will become larger. Greatly depends on what games you're playing and if you must have the graphics settings maxed out too.

    • if downgrade, go for 4070 not ti.

Reason = same Vram, sure 4070ti is faster, but DLSS2/3 will make up for it easily if you need the extra juice.

at 4K go for 4080 or wait for 4070 ti super bec of 16gb vram.

No reason to pay over 1 k for a video card in 2023 and only get 12GB Vram, it is just dumb.

      (or look into 7800xt)

      • Thanks 😊

      • @jenesis33: Your thoughts on this build mate (machine learning purpose)? And what would do/change/update otherwise? Thanks legend!

        • Sorry I'm not too familiar with ai. Do they need big vram? In that case better value wait for ti super.

          Motherboard don't know brand.

Ram I would try to get a 6000mhz set. Hard drive depends on user how much you need.

Case is basic but ok. PSU probably fine.

Bpc tech 4080 deal has much better parts. But it is quite more . You pay for what you get.

To be honest I just feel with black Friday coming just hold is better option.

With super card coming surely there is more room to discount for existing cards.

    • I got a 4070ti computer recently and it actually very much holds its own at 4k WITH pathtracing and very high settings on games like cyberpunk and Alan wake. More optimised games like RE4R run native 4k at 90+fps. The VRAM will probably be an issue for the future at 4K but if you are happy with 1440p then 12GB is completely fine

      • To answer your question better - a 4080 will do 4K in the future better (albeit at a ludicrous price markup) whereas the 4070ti holds a very competitive performance against it at 1440p

    • 12gb vs 16gb VRAM + performance.

    • 5-20%, depends on the resolution (20% around 4k).

  • YOU ANSWERES MY WISHES!!!!

Edit: Is there an option to remove the SSD. I have a spare SSD that I want to install?

just got one of these delivered from the October special. Amazing bit of kit. The RAM (Kingston Fury) overclocked to 6400 at CL36 with no extra volts! The 1TB HDD is as good in all speeds as my EVO 970 samsung. Case is real nice and the Gigabyte B650M K 1.1 mobo it came with is lovely with plenty of options.. love it

Do these systems come with unregistered windows installed?

    • +1

      Answer is on the website

      • Thanks

      • Why the heck does techfast pre-install Linux?? Just more hassle to revert to windows instead of learning to use a new OS.

        • Shrugs. People probably more likely to go with buying windows through them?

I did a full wipe when the PC arrived

        • Because MS doesn't allow prebuilders to pre-install even a non-registered version of Windows on the spanking new build. Besides Techfast did provide very clear instructions on how to install Windows and it literally took me 15' to do so.

Also it's never to late to learn how to use Linux with the ways things are heading for Windows 12. You might not even own your OS anymore lol

Here's the PCPartPicker list for this build. I picked the cheapest parts when unspecified, costs AUD$2107.

Note: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F is not available for purchase yet, I used the preorder price from PCCaseGear

You can go cheaper if you pick the cheapest non-rgb ram, in which case it would be $2087

  • No alternate payment options on these deals?

Brand name and model no are required.

      According to what rules?

  • Should i pull the trigger or wait for Black Friday?

    • thought this was black friday

      • theres no mention of being part of the Black Friday, and still 14 days away
