        • Where are you based? Have you turned off all your modems/routers, then turned them back on again after a few minutes, or at least 30 seconds?

  • +1

95/16 off peak and 92/14 peak hour since yesterday. FTTP metro vic. Thanks

  • Got connected today. Getting max 60 Mbps at 12:00 AM. I am in Melbourne western suburbs.

    • How's speed today?

  • Perth. Connected today

    Speed varies from 30Mbps ~90Mbps

    Currently 91.61Mbps

    Can't complain for price.

    • What's your ping like?

      • +1

        60/70 ms sydney / melbourne
        100+ Perth
Not a gamer so I don't worry too much about that ;)

        • As long as web pages load quick enough I guess and it doesn't feel sluggish overall.

  • BF20 code no longer accepted, expired deal.

    • Get onto chat (i used WhatsApp). The deal is still active. Looks like code is setup wrong.

    • +1

need to click the black friday URL not through their normal website.

  • I signed up yesterday morning, submitted my documents last night. Do I need to be active by midnight tonight to get the deal?

    • yes I think so , better to call the customer care and get it approved first , as in my case that is when they submitted the order to NBN

    • I signed up yesterday, still waiting. Messaged them, they said 2-5 business days for my service area…..

I've churned multiple times between SL, MyR and ABB; always have been switched over within an hour…..

Edit: Got this reply when I asked about the discounted price:

"Yes, the discount will remain as is as there is no request in your account that you wanted to activate the service after 30/11/2022."

  • Switched to spintel from superloop yesterday, consistently getting 90+ down and 18 up in Canberra on fttp. No complaints from me so far. Thanks OP!

    • Pretty close to Sydney:)

  • I decided not to change but really want to know if any of melbournian experience as of this morning especially when the deal is expired?

    • Still garbage 10mbps.

      • Yeah me too still 10mbps. It's like they got us in a 10/1 settings on purpose.

        • I am almost convinced that this is the case. I was cut over on Monday, and did a few speedtests and got 95-96 download speeds.
Then I got in touch with them to get a public IP, and from that point on it's a super stable 10 down.

Support leaves a bit to be desired, wanting to send an NBN tech, wanting me to connect direct to the HFC box (PPPoE settings are in the router).

        • What modem are you using? Was it supplied by TPG?

      • What modem are you using? Was it supplied by TPG?

  • HFC in SE MEL @ 8:50am

    46.90 Down / 14.79 Up
Ping 37ms, Download Latency 123ms, Upload Latency 42ms

  • Any reason why the deal was marked as expired? The code still works and the chat with Spintel yesterday confirmed the deal is until Nov 30?

    • When I clicked the deal, tried to enter BF20, it works again.

      • I've placed an order just now, and it accepted BF20. Did you click the link in this post, the black friday deal?

  • +1

IF you go to Telstra & check your address it will tell maximum speeds available at your premises according to NBN. Might be of helpful for some. Checked & code is still working so marking the deal as non Expired.

  • Yeah I joined too haha
I feel like what a crap i missed?? Then code was working so i registered.

Signed up on Thursday, just got connected (asked for the connection to happen today to maximise Superloop's billing month). Sydney, HFC and getting 96/16. Really happy as its cheaper than what I was paying for 50/20 with SL. Thanks OP this was a great find and share.

    • What's SL?

      • +1

        Superloop
Sounds like a 50/20 plan with them would be better and most should stay ha

        • I jumped onto this from Optus.
Getting 60/14. But since I'm FTTB, I have a hard cap of 80Mbps according to the rep. So should be getting 80, instead of sub 60. Still, half of what I was paying at Optus.

          • +1

@Lord Ra: Yeah it's still worth it I guess if getting 60-70, and just move again after 6 m

  • Spintel referral link is broken. Anyone else ?

    • yep, doesn't load for me either.

      • need to jump on to their live chat to create one

  • Signed up earlier today. Was told that it will take 2 to 5 business days for activation. Despite what reps have been telling people here, I should not have a problem getting the discounted price. The ad does say it is for a purchase of a new plan made between 22-30 November 2022 which is what I have done and the checkout screen shows the plan and discount price that I signed up for. Have taken screenshots of the ad and checkout screen just in case.

    • Same with me; rep said discount will still be applied. They had no answer to why it takes that long other than saying “ I’m in a class 13 area” which they didn’t even know what that means either. Any other time I’ve churned, it’s taken literally 15 minutes

    • I received email with contract pdf file showing all discounts. But my Internet is down now after signing up yesterday. No email or text notification of activation yet

      • Internet back. Still with Superloop.

Should I bother to chase Spintel up for activation? My current Superloop billing cycle still has 3 weeks left.

If Spintel charges from the day of activation, not of signing up, I should just wait out that "2 to 5 business days"

  • took me 2 hrs from submitting the application to activation email on FTTP today.

  • Sydney - Signed up on Thursday, finally got connected today after contacting support yesterday.

Ping is only 5ms but speed isn't as promised, only getting 50/20.

    • That's not bad . Still $5-10 cheaper than most 50/20 plans.

  • Horrible ping +30 ms

    • If you’re not in Sydney or very close to it your ping is going to be ordinary regardless of your speeds because their only PoP is in Sydney.

Gotta feel for those in WA and the far reaches of the country especially if you’re a gamer!

  • +1

So can we activate the connection at a later date?

    • Then $20 discount will not be applied in Activations after 30th

      • That’s only if you ask to be activated at a later date

  • any home phone bundle??!

  • Ordered yesterday, connected today in less than 24 hours. Impressive. Now the speed test.

    • must be very slow since 1.5hrs ago

    • I connected yesterday but still waiting.. been 24 hrs

    • Wow that’s quick. I signed up Monday night and still says awaiting update from NBN. Old provider dropped off yesterday so no internet!

      • So did I. Nothing was moving, just call them and tell them that you need to be connected today. And they will fast track it!

I called them yesterday around 9am and was cutover at midday

        • Yeah I’ve tried calling and WhatsApp. They keep telling me the are prioritising and then get nothing

  • +1

    Connected this afternoon.
It use PPPoE connection and ping is much higher than Superloop but it's OK to me bcoz I don't play network games recently. Anyway, it's super cheap for six months! 🤑🤑🤑

    Who's next after 6 months?

    Thank you @NITINR and Spintel!

    • Is the username and password same as you set up on their website?

      • No, username and password that Spintel sent you by email for PPPoE connection.
Website ID and PW are you made when you activate account.

anyone having problems with Coles Shop Online login after switching to Spintel?

    • Yes. But it seems to have mostly resolved itself, whether due to something at the ISP end or a browser upgrade.

  • how's wi-fi?

  • 3174 SE Melbourne. 3x ping download speed is not too bad (7x) however upload is dreadful around 3~5 mbps

  • Booo, dont know how to set up my modem - Optus Sagemcom. On hold over an hour now

    • +1
      • Thanks, yes i have .Just got off the phone, they say that the optus firmware blocks mw from changing my connectivity from ppp to pppoe. Therefore they cant find the router, i need to purchase a new one. It sucks because superloop could acces it, but spintel use a different method

        • yeah i heard that Optus modems dont play well with other providers

        • +2

Yep, I have the same issue, just coming off Optus. Can't use their router. It is a perfect router, locked down by the provider, with no way of unlocking it.
          Further contributing to e-waste. Why?
This is like locked handsets. I think we should all get together and start a petition about having the courts look at outlawing locking down of routers permanently to reduce e-waste.

Get a unused Telstra gen 2 from FB market place, could be found under $50. Works a treat as per other comments.

      • Cool, will have a look. Otherwise ill grab the TP link Archer 2100 from amazon for $147

      • Any idea whether Telstra Cobra XH Gen 3 is compatible with Spintel?

  • Anyone know if you can sign up for two properties under the one name?

  • Can anyone pm a referral code please

    • Have a read of the Mod note in the OP.

      • already posted on classified over an hr ago

        • +1

You don't get anything out of using a referral, only the referrer does, so I wouldn't waste time and get your order in before the deal expires.

Signed up, took over 36 hrs to connect. Speeds were 10/1 (FTTP - every other NBN provider i've been with over last 6 years have all been very close to or over the stated 100/20).
Talked with their online chatbot, which finished by telling me 10/1 speeds were normal, no problems!
Spent the 4 hours trying to contact support to get it looked into. You request a call back, they call you back later, say you are next in line then proceed to make you wait again for 20-30mins+. I requested a call back after 5pm, call never came. Had to call again to and start process all over again. Finally get through to overseas call centre.
Spent 30 minutes giving all information possible.. MAC addresses, router serial number, serial numbers of NBN box, etc. Lost patience after 30 minutes of this and just asked to cancel.
I guess if the service works and you don't need to contact them, it's a good deal, but i will never subscribe again to Spintel, and will warn and friends and relatives away.

    • Sh*t, I signed up last night still yet connected.
Tried email and whatsapp, whatsapp asked to wait.
Email replied asking for Nbn box serial and Mac..
I never need to provide modem and Nbn box serial no when I was with optus and currently superloop.
      Hopefully I won't be getting 10/1.

      • I just got connected, I didn't provide the mac or serial, they can't go jump. In all honesty they didn't actual ask me for this, I just noted that there was a site where I could provide that info to make sure the connection went smoothly, but I didn't, and they still activated.

Only issue now is it's only getting 30/15 when it should be 100/20. Anyone else have this issue?

    • I was getting 10/1 too on FTTP. Fortunately cancelling wasn't too hard for me. I used their chat service, and they got back in 20 mins. Started a 7-day trial of Launtel and went with 1000/50 for the hell of it and now getting 450/48 (basically the theoretical limit of my router) so it wasn't my end.

    • Same! the speed is crazy slow. I am contacting them now.

  • 94/15 7ms ping…I'll take it! https://www.speedtest.net/result/14014414629

    • +1

      Sydney?

Got a bill for $1 or so for counseling straight away because the speed was rubbish compared to advertised.

      • Yes Sydney. Had to press their support via WhatsApp as it was taking forever for them to activate the connection but they followed though in the end.

  • Canceled the service. It's too difficult to speak with anyone in customer service. waisted two hours of my life trying to speak with someone. Chat is frustrating, with the bot. Will never bother with them again.
