nbn 25/10 $50.99/M, 50/20 $60.99/M, 100/20 $65.99/M, 100/40 $75.99/M, 250/25 $80.99/M for 6-Months (New Customers Only) @ Exetel

Sharing this Black Friday Deal from Exetel. I have been with Exetel for the past 6-months on their 100/20mbps plan, paying $68.99 per month (for the first 6-months). This is now reduced to $65.99 per month (for the first 6-months). I have been looking for a new deal as my introductory rate is coming to an end. I plan to cancel my service with Exetel and take out the same product in my partners name to take advantage of the introductory offer.

For my address*, Exetel is currently offering:
50/20mbps for $60.99 per month (for the first 6-months, then $79.99 after that).
100/20mbps for $65.99 per month (for the first 6-months, then $84.99 after that).
other faster plans are available, but I don't plan to type them all out, sorry!
* your address might be different

see Exetel NBN Plans, enter your address and look for all plans check the more information (i.e. Small print and T&C's).
Highlights for me are: No lock in contract, Australian owned, change plan at any time for free, unlimited data, home phone option available for $10/mth (if that's your thing).

According to Whistleout, Exetel isn't the cheapest for a 100/20mbps plan (Mate and Tangarine are offering plans from $60 per month, for the first 6-months), however I like Exetel as they offer 5 x Free Speed Boosts a month. When I boost, I get 250/20mbps for 24-hours. I use my Speed Boosts at the weekend. Unused Boosts carry over.

When I switched from AGL to Exetel, the switchover was seamless, I didn't have to re-program the router. I didn't need to buy a new router (I am still using my old TPG router). I scheduled the switchover to happen on a Saturday (so I didn't risk impacting my Work from Home). I didn't know the switchover had actually taken place until I did a speed test which listed by provider as Exetel (then I got the confirmation email sometime later).

Since being with Exetel, I have not had to contact their customer support once, as I get the usual NBN outage/maintenance update notifications via SMS and email.

If signing up, don't forget to use a Referral Code generated by Ozbargains to share the referral love!

This might stack with Exetel: $70 Cashback on all NBN Plans (was $40) @ TopCashback

I'm an existing Exetel FTTP customer in WA on a 50/20 plan and my speed I'm getting is 150/20 according to the online speed test.

    • I regularly get speeds above 110mbps download when connected to my 5G Wi-Fi network (and stood close-ish to the router).

      • 150/20 from the other side of the house - 200/20 next to the router.

        • Is that because of the "flip to fibre" promo? I got put on the 250/25 plan for 3 months when I converted to FTTP.

I think they don't charge extra after cancellation, their policy is that you have to give them 30 days notice. So after notice you will have to pay for one month

      • yep, got an extra month's charge when moving to the recent superloop deal (which is dumb since same company)

        • +1

I scheduled the superloop start date for 1st jan, and called exetel today for 30 day notice, so shouldn't have to pay extra if not using service

      • Even after the notice they charged me for the next month!

    • +1

You should threaten them with ACL not ACCC.

      • -2

correct ACL! Can't edit my comment.

    • Both Exetel and Superloop require 30 days notice when cancelling. I haven't found this to be a problem as I give my 30 days notice and then delay the start of my new service by 29 days (1 day overlap in case of any issues).

      • Do they pro-rata the billing if the notice period overlaps the billing date, or will you be charged for the next month in full?

        • +1

Exetel and Superloop both pro-rata. Only pay for the actual 30 days and not the full next month.

  • Any deals on opticomm service?

    • See this long-running deal:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/866782

They do 25/10 for $49.95/month, on both NBN and Opticomm (although Opticomm isn't mentioned in the deal, it's in the comments only).

Here's a direct link to their Opticomm plans page:
      https://www.itsfubar.com.au/data-services/opticomm/

Note that this isn't an introductory offer for a limited time, $49.95/month is their normal price.

Their plans faster than 25/10 don't look competitive though.

I've been happy with Exetel. But the superloop 12 month BF special is better

    • Yes, the same thing for me. I have been with Exetel for many many years. They have been really reliable, but the Superloop deal is much better.

Got the $70 tracked from Topcashback, one of the best deal i can get for NBN 50 for 6 months stack with $70 cashback. I just move to Exetel for 2 days, the connection was very smooth and speedtest always up to 50 Mbps, they also have 5 free speed boost every month. The Dashboard and User account manager interface look very nice and easy to see compare to my 6,7 other previous ISP. I have to move to Exetel earlier because my experience with Amaysim NBN was terrible, im only with them for 2 days.

    • would the referral code not invalidate the cashback?

    • Just transferred from Mate via Topcashback. Works out arond $55.00 for six months with the $70 cash back. Best six month pricing I could find

  • +4

Don’t forget superloop also has $20/month with BLACK-FRIDAY, so 1000/50 is $89/month for 12 months

  • +1

Anyone rate dodo? $63.90 for first 12 mths on their 50 plan.. Sounds cheap!

  • +2

Just switched from superloop. Works fine

  • Damn! I was paying 70$ for 50/20.

Anyway, Superloop BF deal switched me across

  • It looks like to sign up for this, you can never have been an Exetel customer before ("new customers" terms and conditions never say "within the past xxx months").

I'm hoping I'm wrong - has anyone seen anything otherwise?

  • Optus is cheaper with the Flybuys promotion, if you can stomach dealing with them.

  • I am with opticomm using Superloop. I am looking to switch to Exetel, at the sign up process it is asking me do I have active phone line, if I do not I need to pay 300 installation fee.
it is a new dwelling, I do not have phone landline, but why do I need phone line for opticomm? do I just assume I have active phone line since I have working internets service with superloop? thanks.
