  • Dont do it. Exetel suck

With due respect, I disagree and only offering my experience here. Been with them for over 12 months and don't think I could ever change back to another provider (and I've tried a few). Incredible customer service, great dashboard, willing to negotiate rates quite readily, and not a single dropout in over 12 months. YMMV.

I am with Douevenozbargain……. nightmare of a time with them when I went cancel. I had to go through my bank to decline them trying to take funds and reverse fees. They then threaten to take me to debt collectors, ect. This was after they agreed to cancel with no fees/payments then turned around and chased me for over 6 months harassing me.

I used them for about 5 months earlier this year, they seemed ok… (I'm on crappy FW and most slowdowns and issues are NBN tower related)

The main thing people seem to complain about is having to give 30+ days notice for canceling, and having to cancel over the phone…

The process is annoying but fairly painless, I called about 5 weeks before the date I wanted to cancel, I said: "cancel at the end of the next billing cycle", it all went without issue.. … When you cancel make sure you get the cancellation confirmation email

      • Yeah I churned earlier this month… Great to be told you'll be charged another month lmao

Didn't read terms obviously but not sure any other NBN provider has the same practice

Exetel was good for me. But I recently move to Superloop with its 12-month deal

  • They have been fine with me, question is - how is this offer compared to the Superloop cashback?

    • +1

You get more cashback by going with Superloop 100/40, 250/25 or 1000/50. Exetel deals are for 6 months vs 12 months with Superloop. All new Exetel nbn services use Superloop's network.

Assuming I'll need to wait 30 days from cancelling our existing Superloop connection, does anyone know how far out we can nominate the connection date with Exetel, and if this will invalidate the bonus cashback?

    • +1

When ordering through the Exetel website ordering portal, you need to choose a preferred service activation date which is "max. 30 days from now".

I checked https://www.topcashback.com.au/exetel/ and under "What else is essential", it says:
      - Customers are able to nominate a later connection date and receive cashback provided you remain a customer for at least 90 days after placing your NBN order.

My guess is 30 days from the date you go to place the order with Exetel, provided the TopCashback offer is still running of course :)

  • Got $200 Cashback with Optus

    • Optus makes their money back by locking you in though, so not really a good deal in the long run.

      • no lock in.. will swap once cashback is issued

  • while i'm sure the performance is okay. the 30 day cancelation policy pisses me off so much ill never go with them again

Just signed up with SL yesterday, however, now this deal seems to be cheaper

  • If I'm an existing Exetel customer, can I do a plan change to get the $70?

  • Great deal
Signed up to EXETEL via TCB
Goodbye AussieBB and their overpriced BS!

  • I'm curious - if I were to try to churn from Superloop to Exetel (effective from 1 Jan) would there be any issues as a result of them being a part of the same group of companies?

    • +1

I did this earlier this year, no issues.

  • I was with Exetel in the past and churn other providers i.e Superloop. Probably more than 12 months now since I was their customer. If I sign up again, will I get this deal as new customer?
