Just saw this from an Instagram ad. Similar to the Black Friday sale with Superloop.

This offer is for eligible homes upgrading from FTTN to FTTP and FTTC to FTTP connection. Thanks to Danny1213 to point this out from T&C.

Glad to see the 1000/50 plan getting cheaper now.

Enjoy!

they must have lost a lot of customers churning to Superloop - they hoping this deal will even it out a bit.

    • +6

      its their own fault tho

i was with them since like day 1.

they wont offer these prices to loyal customers it's (profanity) dumb.

so of course ppl will leave

      • +1

yes i completely agree and share your sentiment. its a bit "too little, too late"

      • +2

exactly the same experience i had, my $89/month (12 month discounted) plan was ending, they're bumping me up to $115/month

i asked if they can do any better, they said $115 is the best they can do, i switched to superloop at $89/month the next day

        Same with Exetel.

Went from being a decade long customer to opportunistic churning.

This is what all companies want I guess, unstable cash flow.

I churn everything now - they think the hassle stops customers but the reality is we just get efficient at it.

This. Once you do it, it becomes easy and gets easier each time.

        • +2

There are only 2 downsides to churning.
          1. Time and effort to do the change
          2. Multiple companies have your info which increases your chances of being involved in another data breach

          • +2

@Elyxar: But 3. You've probably already been part of a data breach by now. So it doesn't really matter when the same data leaks again.

            @Elyxar:

            1. Reconfiguring all devices to work with new internet connection
  • I’m getting 74.95 and I have FTTP? Are you sure it includes that?

Edit read the terms and conditions:
*This offer is for eligible homes upgrading from Fibre to the Node (FTTN) and Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) connection technology.

  • Why not for HFC?

    • Same question. They are going to lose customers.

    • HFC is not included in the $0 FTTP upgrades.

nbn are giving rebates to providers who get eligible addresses to swap from FTTN to FTTP and FTTC to FTTP.

New Leaptel customers can pay $10/m extra for 12 months.
      nbn 100/20 $74.95/Month, 250/25 $89/Month, 1000/50 $99/Month for 12 Months (New Customers) @ Leaptel.

HFC is harder to upgrade to FTTP. It requires more physical upgrades to the network than FTTN. It also can already attain gigabit download speeds, whereas FTTN can not.

FTTC is part of the upgrade offer because it turns out even with the fibre/copper connection being much closer to the premises, there were technical issues. It's also kind of just the same as FTTN in terms of a telephone copper line connected to a fibre somewhere so FTTN and FTTC have similar upgrade paths.

  • It's only for peeps ugrading from fttc, fttn to fttp.
I'm already on fttp so ineligible :/

    • Doing it via TPG is cheaper then since they give you $300 credit.

      • There is nothing in the TPG nbn FTTP upgrade T&Cs about a $300 credit. TPG used to do a $250 credit but it's expired. The only $300 thing mentioned is the nbn new development charge.

Cries in existing Superloop HFC customer

  • Ahh paying 99 for 1000/50 for 4 months in.
    Gonna jump to Superloop.

  • I’m currently fttn but ineligible for this. I asked on live chat about it and they said NBN has flagged my place for a forced upgrade to fttp making me not eligible for the offer. Really sucks!

When I search my property it says I have fttp but I don’t, am only service class 1

Would’ve loved to jump to 250 at $79

    • Since your address is flagged you have to pay $10/m extra with Leaptel (250/25 $89/m for 12 months). Superloop are doing 250/25 $79/m for 12 months if you want to swap providers. Contact a provider to get FTTP installed.

Superloop are doing 250/25 for $79 for 12 months?

I only see it for $85

        [edit] I stand corrected.

        thanks!

  • I have just joined in for $99. They can not move me to this plan because this was only for the people who are upgrading as NBN is giving additional $10 per month rebate, according to them.

I have no choice but to move out today to more for 81re

    • Did exactly the same mate last week, planning to move to superloop at the end of the month

  • +4

Called up, Superloop and they couldn't do the Black Friday deal since I'm an existing customer… switching over to Leaptel i guess

    • Only valid if you are upgrading from fttn to fttp

      • Also from FTTC to FTTP.

  • If the FTTN node in my suburb was missed but they upgraded the others around mine to FTTP, and there's 'Not Planned' as the status, are they ever coming back to upgrade us to FTTP?

  • What a joke, because NBN is screwing me on speed, they offer me a worse deal for more money, $74.95

    • +1

      Swap providers

      • Username checks out.

      • No, I mean Leaptel offered me a worse deal than the one on this page.

        • Yeah they dont offer the new discount to existing customers, leave to another provider and in 12 months come back

  • Why is an FTTP upgrade required? I'm moving to a new place that has FTTP already and so this deal doesn't apply to me …..

strange …. I've got to have less to order more to pay less ;)

    Superloop it is then.

  • My existing 12 month sign up is coming to end with Leaptel, I contacted them asking if they can honour my existing discount and I'll be happy to commit for another 12 months, But no luck.. Over to Superloop I will go!

    • That's the way, leaptel is good. But I will need to jump between others and them

  • hows is it for gaming online?

    • -2

      Pretty bad

    • I haven't had a problem.

      I play Apex Legends mainly.

  • No love for Opticomm ?

  • +1

Leaptel upgraded my 100/20 to 250/25 for the same price after my 12 months were up . I called and asked what they could do.

  • Not eligible due to strata

  • I think I will join, if any leaptel folk want to send me a referral link, direct message me.

  • any black friday extras for Leaptel?

    • No extras. nbn deals are already discounted on the Leaptel website.

  • Anyone wanna send me a referral link? Cheers.
