      • NBN won’t connect it, it’s a waste of time and money.

        • ah ok, so how come people are buying them?

          • @Irishness: Stupidity probably. It will be useless when they contact their ISP or NBN to try to have it connected as it will belong at the address it was technically “stolen” from, being property of the NBN.

  • Capped to 100mbit after 3TB on Gbit? Must be a company full of ex-Tel$tra employees

The old 25 was 25/5. Interesting to see the new 25 is 25/10.

Returning customers [who have previously been with Superloop and already received a six(6) month discount promotion] will not be eligible for a new promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.

I thought this used to be a period of 6 months before you are a new customer.

Upping it to 12 months means I will churn from Superloop -> e.g. Kogan in 6 mths, stay with Kogan for 12 months, then churn back. This means Kogan get 6 months of full price subscriptions.

This is shooting themselves in the foot.

Either that or I need to find 3 providers to churn.

    • Superloop strategy:
Put in promos to encorage churning.
      Change T&Cs to discourage churning.
Keep running promos to encourage churning.
You will indeed need to keep 3 providers in rotation based on these new terms.

      • Wonder what's there in TC to discourage churning?

        • +1

The 12 month period discourages churning… to them. Not from them. That's the problem.

    • Do you happen to know if it's 12 months since last received a discount or 12 months since last was a customer? Thanks.

  • +1

That $99 for 250/25 is tempting.

Try address check it just keep loading….. loading…… and loading

No more superdroop, twice connected with them and always have lot's of dropouts back again to Aussie..no more drops

    • +1

Same story for me. Plus I found the customer service lacking

      • what NBN technology did you guys have dropouts on?

        • Fttn for me

        • The old Foxtel fibre. My neg is for the customer service. The NBN delivers the service and it's fine now I'm with Aussie BB

          • @sickllama: Same here…fine with AussieBB, whereas when you call superloop, you need to wait at least 3/4 hours.. what a joke. And they can't even fixed the problem. On the contrary, 1 call to Aussie, they call NBN to fix it right away…

        • +4

Only person I know who had connection issues was on FTTN. I've been on FTTP and others HFC no issues… I'd put it down to the connection type not the provider.

      • Plus I found the customer service lacking

I am really curious to know what exactly was lacking about their customer service?
They are locally based, and you can actually understand what they are saying.

    • What did support say?

    • Same here and I'm on FTTP.

Looks like everyone is smashing their plan change page in the portal at present. Result:

    504 Gateway Time-out
The server didn't respond in time.

When I told them I was switching they offered me a $5 discount. Good for them. With spintel now on a cheaper 25/5 plan. Does the job. $49.95

    • Superloop is 25/10 now, so might be some benefit there over 25/5

      • Cheers. Still a customer within 6 months so ineligible. Surprised at the 25/5 though. Haven't pushed it with online gaming but everything else is good.

  • Does this stack with the referral discount?

    • +3

No, you will only get one lot of $10 off for 6 months, but if you put in a random referal code you will help another ozbargain user.

      • +1

Thanks. The referral seems to be a better deal for the 25mbps and the same for 50mbps. I’ll use referral if I decide to change from Aussie

  • Is there a 500gb limit on the 100/20? Superloop doesn't respond to emails

    • +1

All plans are unlimited (although the 1gbps plan may have a 3TB cap ?)

      • +3

1Gbps is capped to 100Mbps after 3TB. All others are unlimited unlimited.

  • Any sign up fees or any other fees to switch over to them?

  • -8

Terrible customer service (ridiculous wait times) & dropouts. Ended up having to take them to the TIO as our kids could not complete their schoolwork due to the unreliability of the service. No issues at all since moving to ABB.

Superloop = Not recommended at all.

    • What kind of NBN were you on?

    • +3

I don't know what's more impressive, the fact that your Ozbargain account is virtually dedicated to bitching about Superloop, or that you were apparently a customer of theirs for almost a year and filed TIO complaints etc rather than…just leaving?

IMO churning between RSPs is so quick and easy these days that any no-contract NBN plan is pretty low risk, particularly ones that publish their CVC.

      • I love the way they negged the deal - even though the deal is expired, there is nothing wrong with the deal, they just hate Superloop.

  • I've been with Exetel for 6 years and I pay $89 for 100/40 and I cant fault them

    • Wow. Is that still active?

    • I just canceled my Exetel, was on a $59 for 50/20. Had to cancel as I'm moving houses. :/

However, I signed up with epicbroad band today for the new place, they have no contracts etc. same price minus the free voip line.

  • Their speeds have dropped lately. Even worse is that their support is terrible. Non-existent really. Often the only reply you get from them for any support request is the automated reply-bot. If they do bother to email you back a week or two later, its a script - basically "have you turned it off and on". Then you won't hear from them again.

Super disappointed in them and leaving before my 6 month discount is up.

Took about 10 minutes to switch my FTTP over from aussie to this, had about 3 minutes of downtime. Then another 10 to call aussie to make sure the account was closed correctly.

$20 a month saving, not bad.

The hardest part was getting the address section of the web site to work.

    • I’m thinking of doing the same thing with my FTTP. How are the speeds?

      • +1

I only have 50 megabit but it sits on exactly 50 so feels pretty much the same so far.

    • I'm having issues with the address as well. Any tips?

      • +1

Try again later, I think I went to another tab and came back later and it had worked.

    • Did you cancel ASAP, or switch at the end of the billing cycle from Aussie?

I'm with Aussie too, just wondering if I can cancel ASAP and get a pro rata refund for the remaining time with Aussie or if it's simpler to end on the billing date.

Did you tell Aussie you were closing, or just spoke to Superloop?

      • I did asap, but my new month was the next day anyway. I think they do pro rata.
Called aussie to confirm account closure.

  • So, I have a couple of referral benefits for my existing 50/20 plan ($78.95 - $10 - $7.89 = $61.06). Anyone got any idea what will happen to the referral benefits if I "switch" to the new 50/20 of $69.95?

    • +1

You will keep your same referall credits til they expire

  • Why no 75mbps :/

Can you change from 100 to 50 after the 6 months for free?

    • 75 is non standard only offered by abb

  • damn, looks like I gotta wait another 6 months to switch :(

  • Since I moved interstate, I have to deal with these nbn providers. I was using adsl2+ to building from tpg before 100Mbs/unknown for just $60 a month, both speed and ping are awesome. Now for the same money each month, I got a “upgraded” nbn plan 50/20 with high ping spike and the signal dropped whenever it wanted.

  • is this the cheapest NBN plan available ? any other cheaper options (less speed is acceptable ) ?
also, can I just connect a simple wifi router to FTTC NTD ?

    • +1

      Cheaper deals

Yeah NBN connection box to wifi router 👍

      • +1

        thanks

  • have just successfully swapped over from ozbb 50/20 to superloop 100/20, spend test was the same, a little dissapointed but i guess ive saved a few dollars for now

edit: possibily a test ran during peak

Similar deal ended yesterday on 31 Jan 2021 and now this deal again :)

  • Has anyone got NBN50 with SL? What are the speeds like? Do they go over 50mbps? I had 100mbps plan with SL and I was always getting 109~ mbps.

I am currently with Mate Communicate and get around 44mbps on their NBN50. With SL I never had lag or spikes while gaming. Thinking to go to SL if the speeds are close to 50mbps.

    Thanks in advance.

    • +1

      Do they go over 50mbps?

      DL: 52.1Mbps
      UL: 18.1Mbps

I am not sure why my upload speed is below 19. With ABB, it used to be very close to 20.

      • Thanks mate. Looks like it's worth moving to SL then.

Yeah something weird about their UL lesser than ABB.

      • is that on HFC?

    • 53/19 is norm for me

  • Churned back to SL 50/20, could be 3rd or 4th time, I have lost count.

Submitted application around 8pm or so, net cut-off about 45 minutes later and was back up in a few minutes on SL.

Ookla speedtest gives me DL 48.39 UL 18.81, not bad saving $20 over ABB.

    • How come you are getting less than 50 mbps? Are you on HFC?

      • More likely FTTN. Could be router or wifi letting it down if it's not the NBN.

My mother's peak achievable FTTN speed is 84mbps which is pretty great compare to my friends parents who are on fixed wireless, 10mbps peak…

  • I am on HFC - could be someone streaming on the network at the same time

*sorry was meant to reply to above comment…

  • Damnit! I want this deal, but am already with SuperLoop! Do I need to churn away and back again?!??

The bane of NBN deal hunting.

  • Great deal. $99 for 250/25 is excellent.

  • Has anyone tried epic nbn? They are priced cheapest 50mbps for 59$.

  • Good timing. Left Telstra after 16 years. Took about 20 minutes in the middle of the night.

  • Tangerine is $5 cheaper for 50/20

    • Nice find! Are you currently using them, and if so how do you find their customer support to be?

      • only during setup, cause of pit ID problems, wasnt the best, but never had an issue with service have done about 8-9 months and moving house so 6 month deal is over for me.

  • yikes. switched from aussie BB's 1000 plan. went from 950 down consistently to 180.

    • Same. I just switched from ABB 1000/50 and went from 950 down to a wildly vary from 30-850 down. Stuck at 50 down atm and their call centre is obviously close. Think I will switch back to ABB at the end of the billing period.

    • I think Superloop or NBN had an outrage on 1/2/2021, and the download speed drop to around 35 Mbs. It returned to 100 Mbs on 2/2/2021.
I am using 100/20 plan, testing with speed test.

      • I'm encountering this again tonight, 35-50Mbps. Check NBN and Superloop website, there's no Maintenance or Interruption at all.

  • Shame No discount for Loyal customers

  • I signed up last night to 250/40. Churned from ABB in about an hour. Downtime was only 10minutes. But I'm only getting 100MB/s instead of 250.

  • How can I port out from TPG? Should I give them 30 days notice and wait 1 month to activate this?

  • They had loaded the 1000/50 plan on their systems yesterday at $119.95 for existing customers too - it was a mistake. Myself and a bunch of OzBargainers jumped on it - now they're calling everyone to apologise but not honour the price. $139.95 for existing customers - still a $10 discount from original $149.95 but as their mistake they probably should have honoured it.

  • Does Superloop work with Telstra Smart Gen 2 modem? also is there any contract for these plans?? e.g. 12 or 24 months? or is this offer is on a month to month basis.

    • +1

Yes that model will work and no contract.

      • Does the modem need any specific settings?
