Received an email from Flybuys "Optus Black Friday offers are here!"

Optus 1000/50Mbps NBN for $99 for the first 6 months, plus collect 35,000 points (worth $175) when you stay connected for 3 months.

Pay $0 for our Ultra WiFi Modem Gen 2 when you stay connected for 36 months (normally $306). That's a $8.50/mth discount on the modem for each month you stay connected. If you cancel before 36 months, you'll need to pay out any remaining cost of the modem, e.g. if you cancelled with 12 months remaining, you'd need to pay $102 ($8.50/mth x 12 months remaining).

      My experience shows you might get away with that, last June I signed up for similar deal and ported out within in less than a month but still got the flybuys. In saying that plenty of people signed up and stayed but still had to chase for point so treat it like a gamble.

          Im with superloop, unless you are after the 35k points, they offer the same $99 for 6 months
          then $$109 after that

          I consistently get 900+/40+ on the lightspeed plan via ethernet
          unless your talking about wifi, I get between 500+/40+ to 700+/40+ depending on which end of the house Im at

          the only downvote would be for the 30 days notice you have to give
          but I have been with them for some time now & wont change unless a better deal
          comes around anyways

        Aaah thanks for this..the online chat wasted my time and the only relevant comment was that the connection will only become active when I plug in! So may be best to do a new connection instead of a replacement connection so a different UNi port is issuedl.

    I read the small print and it says.

    new services ordered via the Flybuys portal only

    When I go via flybuys, I end up at different address. campaign.optus.com.au/fixed/flybuys.
    The page looks the same and the deal link has ?source=flybuys_metro_campaign in it.

    Subtle and I'm going to go via the flybuys portal to remove any chance of sneaky business.

    Hooked up today, but I had to nag them to do it even though we'd set a date. My speedtracker shows around 935/50 consistently, checking every two hours. Jitter and latency are higher than Superloop, but it's fine for work calls and streaming. Now waiting for that cashback!
