Optus 1000/50Mbps NBN for $99 for the first 6 months, plus collect 35,000 points (worth $175) when you stay connected for 3 months.

Optus Typical Evening Speed 780/40Mbps.

If you cancel before 36 months, you'll need to pay out any remaining cost of the modem, e.g. if you cancelled with 12 months remaining, you'd need to pay $102 ($8.50/mth x 12 months remaining).

edit: removed the cashback option as it can't be claimed with Flybuys offer

  • How bad is optus NBN HFC? hahah Is it worth it for the 17,500 Velocity points I'll get :p

    • +2

      Real Bad

  • Can you double dip flybuys with cashback. Didnt think you could

  • +1

    Note:

All internet & mobile plans must remain connected for a minimum of 120 days from sign-up date to be eligible for cashback.

    • My experience shows you might get away with that, last June I signed up for similar deal and ported out within in less than a month but still got the flybuys. In saying that plenty of people signed up and stayed but still had to chase for point so treat it like a gamble.

    Note:

Cashback is ineligible if combined with any third party offers from Flybuys and/or any other rewards programs,

    • oh was able to claim it last time. I'll remove TCB from the post then.

35000 flynuys points are worth $175, not $150.

Ozbargainers don't let other Ozbargainers sign up to Optus…

  • $55.25/month for 4 months.

  • Careful everyone, it's Optus.

  • 1000kb

  • Shit i just signed up to superloop. This is better deal

    • +1

but surely superloop is better nbn.. isn't it ?

      • Dunno i always go 1000 and everyone i been with mostly 500+ with random 200s

        • Im with superloop, unless you are after the 35k points, they offer the same $99 for 6 months
          then $$109 after that

I consistently get 900+/40+ on the lightspeed plan via ethernet
unless your talking about wifi, I get between 500+/40+ to 700+/40+ depending on which end of the house Im at

the only downvote would be for the 30 days notice you have to give
but I have been with them for some time now & wont change unless a better deal
          comes around anyways

    • +1

it's not if you use topcashback

    • It really isn't. Youd need to jump ship after 6 months on a pretty crap network.

  • They haven't given me the points after 5 months. Every time I contact optus, they try to sell me a mobile plan instead of helping.

    • I usually just go straight to the point and ask them not to do "health check" on my account. Waste of time.

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to pick a start date? I'm at the last page of check out but didn't seem to find an option for it.

Trying to replace my current NBN service with this.
