Wow. They make you give them your address just to see the plans…. EPIC Fail!

    • +1

      Give them your neighbours :)

    • Most do though

  • Not bad, but I myself am with Lets Be Mates and pay $69 for 100/20 as I bundled my mobile service with them

    • Pretty good for 100mbps, is that a promo?

      • +2

it's the price you pay when you bundle the mobile service with them, the offerings are pretty good and it's run from the telstra network

        • how do you find the mobile service? I saw this deal recently and thinking of doing the same once NBN is finally hooked up in our apartment.

        • Lets Be Mates mobile service is provided on the Telstra network, but I'm pretty sure their NBN services are via Vocus, and depending on your area, you might have a bad experience, but that also depends on what your internet usage will be. If they offer no contracts, then it's good, but if they lock you in, it will be difficult to leave without a penalty.

PS: Love the irony of a user named Gomo commenting about Telstra, wish you would have gone for the trifecta with a Vodafone aligned product too :P

I am with these guys for the basic 20Mpb plan. A refreshing sign up process and bill. As quick as stated generally and sufficient for my housemate and I.

  • +4

    When checking address:
Unable to connect to Ipify: Error connecting to Ipify (0)

If they can't get the website right, I'm not overly confident as them as an ISP

  • +7

site is terrible so many of the links 404 error including critical-information-summary page

  • +5

They would offer 250 down for my house on FTTC, Aussie broadband doesn't even currently offer this. I question the validity of the webstie

    • +1

Same, offer me 250mbit which no other isp does.

    • So I was with Aussie BB (before the price jacking) and switched over to Superloop. Aussie said I couldn't get 250/20 or 1000/40 and said it was NBNs fault. Just worked on Superloop. I presume it's more the Aussie BB backbone routers not being able to handle the load

      • -1

For an ISP to offer 250/25 and 1000/50 NBN have to upgrade your line.

    • +1

Their offers page is wrong. I typed in an address on nbn fixed wireless and it offers 250 down as well.

  • +3

Anyone actually have experience with these guys? Can't find much about them…

    • Good so far NBN FTTN transferred in exactly 24 hours. Speeds the same as expected, customer service so far is great.
Have spoken with James, Matt and Adam. Wouldn't be surprised if it's just them! Jokes.

      • More Aussie than Aussiebroadband so far haha!

  • +4

Great deal, but absolutely no info on the company.
According to auda, their domain was registered only a couple of months ago (2020-09-15) and it uses cloudflare DNS.
Their ABN was registered 2nd Aug 2019.
Their website has no information about who their upstream provider is, clearly they are not operating their own network.
Their office address Level 11, 66 Clarence Street Sydney is a coworking space.

It's a tempting offer, but I can get the same price from Superloop or Internode for 6 months. It's not enough for me to sign up with a completely unknown company.

    • +1

Looks like they're also registered for mobile and "epic networks" - whatever that is

  • -2

Social media links don't work and no CIS?

  • +1

Some plans have an additional $10 phone support charge, if desired.

    https://epicbroadband.com.au/legal

  • Their Critical Information Summary, Key Facts etc all don’t work, nor is there much info about their network. This is quite terrible.

  • +1

They’ve only just launched recently, the guy I spoke to on online chat said there is a few things they are working on with the website. can’t fault the connection but. I’ll support it for now

    • May I ask how you found out about these guys? I haven't been able to find much info. Thanks

      • Found them in a buy/swap/sell Facebook group.

  • +1

cant see plans at all, ill pass

  • +2

$59 a month for a 50/20 plan sounds ideal, especially if it's ongoing. But… I dunno if I'm willing to take a punt.

    • I just took the punt on this deal (50/20)
Chat responds in less than 30 seconds at peak time is a win for me.
Will report back on speed test vs current (Launtel)

      • Thankyou for doing that. Also if you can do a tracert and see who they use for backhaul.

        • +2

So for reference I was getting 30/8 before with Launtel.
Now I am getting 31/8 with Epic
So it's basically the same as I expected, my crappy FTTN so I may as well pay $15 less per month.
Their customer service is still Great so far as well.

I also doubt they have the legal rights to use property of Disney for their advertising, I'd steer well clear of this company..

    • +2

I doubt Disney has heard about these guys.
And I'm sure if they issue a take down they will comply.

  • I applied yesterday around 1pm yet still not connected today. they said there was an issue with NBN processing the orders. Is anyone having the same issue?

    • +1

      got connected today. all good

Speedtest is ok (https://speedtest.net/result/10516063099). I'm on FTTP btw

      • +3

Assuming you are on 50/20, that speed test could be better.

        • yeah I thought so too, it's still ok

      • That's slower than I would have expected. They advertise peak period speeds of 46.8Mbps for their 50/20 plan on their website. I'm with belong on their starter plan, which caps speeds at around 32Mbps. Looks like Epic would not be a huge improvement, although I guess you could contact them and seek an improvement based on their advertised speeds.

  • Did some looking and found them: https://bgp.he.net/AS140381 they are using Equinix Asia Pacific as their upstream so its pretty decent but it looks like they would probably be aggregating everything back to sydney

  • +1

Their gamer plans seem to cost regular price and have higher peak speed, while their home plans are slightly cheaper with worse peak speed.

If this promo works on the home 250MB plan for $99, that's good I guess.

I'd consider leaving to test it, but I'd have to leave my Superloop 100/20 500GB $79 plan which they don't offer anymore.

    • i wouldn't leave to join some unknown ISP that's not even listed on the nbnco providers database

see how if they still around in next 6 months or so

  • Huge red flag here.

I signed up for the 250/25 deal yesterday morning and got an email from EPIC saying my order is in progress after about 30mins.

Around 7 pm last night I got an SMS from my current provider - Superloop suggesting that they have received the transfer request and they will cut my access soon.

Although the EPIC website claimed 2 hour transfer time, at the time I'm writing this post my Internet still hasn't got connected. It's been more than 14 hours.

Their online support does respond to my message but has been totally useless, blaming NBN for not doing their job but can't give me any firm ETA.

I have been doing this type of transfer with quite a few different ISPs and this one is definitely the worst.

    • When I transferred across I also went to the 250/25 plan. It seems in NSW they can do this quickly.

Tech told me they are using a different upstream carrier called Virtutel for other states, and apparently they are upgrading to use Vocus as their upstream to nbn on 16th of this month

Might be the issue you are having aswell is at Virtutel not NBN.

      • When I transferred across I also went to the 250/25 plan. It seems in NSW they can do this quickly.

Are you able to run a speedtest for us on the 250/25 plan?

      • I know it's probably not their issue but claiming 2 hours and not delivering the promise after almost 20 hours is a big fail to me.

If they haven't advertised that I would have a different expectation and I will also plan the transition more carefully.

Now that the family is stuck with no internet and I have loads of work undone, and the most frustrating thing is not knowing when I will get my internet back.

I've been trying to call their support but all I get is endless music.

        • Cant really do much about it when there’s multiple third parties involved mate. If they’re not meeting your expectations why not just signup to another ISP that can guarantee it quicker?

    • +1

Took me nearly 72 hrs for the transfer. Tech is useless. Giving me all different reasons and then at the end decided to not answer my calls at all (I know this because I waited about 10 mins my first two calls and no one pick up so I decided to hide my number and tech picked up after two ring tones.)

  • Anyone got a referral code?

    • +1

Don't do it - they are a joke of a company that has poor infrastructure (just came off an 18 hour outage because a part broke and they had to drive up to the Central Coast to pick up a new one???). They keep your month in advance fee and only refund the pro-rata component of the current month you are in. Their website has no functionality and you currently cannot login into any form of a member's area to see your plan and details. Very dodgy and I'd avoid them like the Plague (which is saying something with COVID around). Speeds were poor and subpar compared to all the other major players. All things posted that are positive are most likely done by their staff/friends - not true customers that have had any genuine experience with them. Go with someone/anyone else!

  • Any referral codes please?
