Quickest way would be to hit CTRL-F on the ebay product page and type "revisions". It'll be the first find.

          @Blitzfx:

Thanks for both answers, how the hell did I missed that?, looks like I should buy some glasses with this promo.

The G Flex 2 is a tier higher than the Zenfone 2 in terms of specs except for RAM; particularly the GPU.

Honestly if they're the same price, the G Flex 2 would be the way to go. Spec-wise, it's comparable to many of the other flagships like the HTC M9, LG G4, Xperia Z3+, etc. Just a step below the absolute top-end like the S6 and Note 5.

Can't comment on build quality (you'd need to check reviews), but here's a handy set of benchmark graphs that have both phones: http://blog.gsmarena.com/benchmarking-asus-zenfone-2-ze551ml…

      • Yep not surprised due to the same CPU as M9 G4 is an 808 which is why its up and down, just be careful the flex 2 has two versions one is the 2gb ram and 1one is the 3gb ram not sure whats in those benchmarks but as you can see Ram does make a big diff in some of the results :)

      • Thanks for the heads up! With Gearbest, did you have any problems with warranty issues? Would delivery be quicker with expedite shipping (it says 3-7 days via DHL for $10 more).
        Cheers!

        • I haven't tried DHL with them but I'm guessing its pretty standard 3-7 days. I use DHL to ship stuff at work though and it's relatively quick. Definitely within 7 days.

Their warranty is okay I think. I've only needed to contact them once when I had a quadcopter motor die. I sent video evidence of it dead and they offered a replacement, in-store credit or 50% refund in my paypal (for some reason).

      • Dont they just downclock the s810 to keep it cool and so it runs around s801 speed on current firmware. In one of the deals for the lg flex 2 someone claimed they only score 44k with antutu on the lg, while my note 4 gets 52k. Doesn't sound like it performing any better than previous generations. Supposedly the s810 had overheating issues when running at full performance.

    • I'd get the G Flex 2 myself

    • Flex 2 please. I have the Zenfone 2, not very impressed.

  • Keeping an eye

        • +2

like all of Kogan.. they're on my blacklist for tactics like this - raising prices for a ''sale''. Should have the ACCC on them. I was looking at a spin bike, is $360 something on ebay and $260 something on their web site.

        • @gizmomelb:

Is this Kogan Australia or Kogan HK ? First one is an Australian business, second one is a Hong Kong business and out of the reach of ACCC.

If you go down half the page it says "CALCULATE YOUR 20% SAVING HERE".

It takes 20% off the amount you enter, but doesn't limit it to $300 as the T&C's state.

Eg: Enter Item Price ($): $3000 Price After Discount ($): 2400.00 AU+ postage costs You Save ($): 600.00 AU

It should say $300. Silly ebay.

    • Also; OP, judging by the amount of comments regarding the following, please bold Offer opens to the general public at 10.00 (AEST) on 25 August 2015 and ends at 23.59 (AEST) on 29 August 2015 (“Offer Period”).

I'm gonna print screen and hold it against them, drafting up a letter to the ACCC as we speak just incase they decide to violate The Act (1997), section 44, page 273, paragraph 3, clause 12(i).

  • -8

Is anyone else having a problem using the code at The Good Guys? It tells me they are having technical difficulties processing the code.

    • -3

      Same from Masters

      • +5

the sale STARTS TOMORROW, only VIPs have access to the code today!

        • I guess I got confused because Ozbargain generally doesn't allow targeted offers yet this offer, with a clear VIP in the code, was allowed. Now that the CTREAT20 code is there it makes more sense to those of us that don't read Apple's entire T&C's before updating iTunes. Sorry to everyone that negged my comment. I know you enjoy your late night Apple T&C readings.

        • +3

@Putnum: it's probably allowed because many people seem to be VIPs, and it's a good way for non-VIPs to get ready for tomorrow.

Also you should at least read the first few lines. Otherwise you won't know if you're installing optional adware, or know when the sale starts.

        • @eug: I know :(

    • +20

Hi, I'm having problems using the code. But I'm not going to read that its a VIP sale. Im not going to read that its on tomorrow. Im not going to read.

      • +2

Perfectly reasonable. This is oz-bargain, not oz-literate. I just want to know why I can't use these eBay codes that aren't active yet at other retailers that aren't on ebay? Come to think of it, why couldn't I use the code to get 20% off at the shell servo when I filled up last night?

  • Keen on Sony MDR AS800BT for $125.56 (about $10 cheaper than on SI - w/postage added).

I had a quick look on here, but couldnt find any postings, I'm sure these have been on sale & listed on here.

Anyone have any experience/opinions/comments on these?

    • +1

Not the best deal - it was as cheap as $100 I believe.
Quality - pretty comfortable to wear, sound quality is not bad as a bluetooth headset.

    Hi guys,

I was about to purchase this laptop https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/laptops/acer/ace… for full price today.

Have any of you seen it on any of the stores that will be having a sale?

    • They have a similar model ES1-411-C2TL for $349 - 20% = $279.20 + +AU $9.65 postage

      • Unfortunately that one is only a dual core. :(

        Thanks though.

        • +1

Yea, I was just editing that to say that the ES1-411-C1WD has a better CPU. (not by much, though).

Not only cores, but 2MB cache compared to 1MB cache.

          See comparison here.

        • +1

@rompastompa: Yeah i would of got the dual core one if it was a bit more cheaper. But i want that 2MB cache and quad core. Was planning on throwing some more RAM and an SSD in it.

        • +1

@mexicanvalium: 15.2866% cheaper though ;) (Not recommending either.. just maths ;))

        • +1

Would be happy with any 14inch quad core laptop at the moment though.

[4.] Retailers participating in these Offers are retailers who sell Participating Products and operate from shop fronts in Australia including both the shop front and any online store operated by such retailers (“Participating Retailer”). A Participating Retailer does not include:
      *a retailer which only operates online stores with no shop fronts;
*The Nespresso Club (whether online at www.nespresso.com or via phone 1800 623 033); or
      *Nespresso Boutiques.

From their T&C. The question is whether the operating retailer is eBay or Good Guys. I think you'll get a Good Guys invoice with RRP amount, so would assume you'd get it.

      Doesn't help, does it :/

  • Anyone recommend a decent GPS ? I'm tired of using my phone as one.

    • +6

Have you tried using a 'Wife'? I hear that model is good.

      • +6

        404 not found :(

      • +18

Don't know if I would recommend that model, I can't get the mute on mine to work -.-

      • +27

I'm currently running the latest version of "Wife" and this model has been giving me lots of headaches due to endless nagging! I should've probably stuck with "Girlfriend" model but it kept asking me to update the current version to "Wife" and I was really tempted because the upgraded version comes in one package with "FreeSex" so I did.

TLDR; big mistake, don't ever get "Wife" for GPS as it will redirect you to other destination every time you punch in "go to pub" or "hang out with buddies" on GPS.

    Dodgy..

    • You can get toshiba 5tb;s for around 215 shipped ex amazon

    • Looks like they're revising a lot of their stock as well.

    • +1

Vaguely remember reading a thread a few months ago - here I think - saying something like, once you go over 3TB the drives have a high failure rate - but I'm not sure now!?

      • +2

Backblaze data centres have over 47,000 drives from various brands and every quarter each year they collect failure rate stats. Some 1.5TB and 3TB Seagate models had terrible reliability. 3TB WD drives also suffer but nowhere near Seagate's level. 4TB size drives have excellent reliability across all brands. 6TB not as reliable as 4TB but there aren't many 6TB drives in use presently.
Read more about the results here https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-reliability-stats-…
