For me, it has to be this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/29936 - 50% off King of Shaves and Azor System Razor Products. Free Delivery
Scored 64+ and I stocked up on so many Razors, Shaving Cream and Balm that to this day I reckon I have 5 years supply still left! It's truly the gift that keeps giving. Haven't heard much from shave.com.au since, so must've hurt their wallets.

I remember staples gate. Free paper via numerous $20 vouchers. I remember I got a 2 external hard drives.

    • +2

I got myself 4 boxes of 5 paper reams or 10000 sheets of paper. I'm still going through it 4 years later LOL.

    • This was up there for me too; oh the memories!

    • Still waiting on my paper or refund

  • +2

Does anyone remember this one? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/32031 (the free dolphin knife)
I find it pretty handy. I have been using it to open letters.

To be honest I cant remember this deal - maybe because it was 1 month before my first born came along and I was busy getting the house ready. Now a deal like this is what im talking about: Quirky, Cheap and still use it to this day - good one Sage!

      • That's when you should be most active on OzBargain – after you get a new mouth to feed.

The D-Link DIR865L router they paid me to buy, and the recent Lavazza coffee pod machine — the gift that keeps on giving. Paid to buy it, free coffee pods, cheap milk frother and more pods…

      So. Many. Negs!

    • Still annoys me to this day. My local Dicksmith had NOTHING when the store opened. Very dickish. If I was around back in 2012, I'd have negged the deal too.

    • My brother somehow scored some stuff from that deal :P

    • Wow, just dug up an old comment on my findings!

      Picture of said findings.

Also managed to nab the Xbox 360 version of James Cameron's Avatar for $5! (not pictured above).

Good times. I still remember the people trying to buy like 5 PS3's, lol. I did end up getting RDR for $5, though it's still sealed to this day… Worth.

Proposed to the Mrs on this trip. 48hrs in Melbourne, with our 1yo at the time :) at a grand total cost of $180!

Not 3 years old but close enough :P

    • Awesome - this is what im talking about. Deals that are worth remembering are the best ones. Where in Melb did you propose?

      • Outside Crown during the fire show :)

        • +2

Hah same spot I decided to marry my wife. Listening to buskers play "sweet home Alabama"

I won $400 that night from playing blackjack and I still have a $5 crown token as souvenier

        • @clickship:

Busker was playing 'I Can See Clearly Now' as we walked away :)

    • Ha - I broke up with the missus prior to this trip. Classic opposite world.

    • +1

Yes! This deal was great! Melbourne for me is about shoe shopping ;) I still wear shoes from that trip and think fondly of the wine.

    Oh the memories, so nostalgic.

Nice extraction of the urine there mate; sums up your username very well.

      • +5

Thanks champ - seems like every other week there is a new "lets all remember the best bargains" post.

My head began to hurt from all the conditions you have placed upon the nostalgia, so i just thought back as far as i could remember.

    • lol, i didn't see this deal yesterday… Would have been pretty handy :(

      • +1

No nosatalgia for you then. The memeories are priceless.

        • Turns out they had plenty of stock at Bunnings near my place according to a comment. So I might check it out tomorrow :P

        • +2

@koreainhyuk: make sure you savour the moment when going through the bunnings checkout so the nostalgia in future is better!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/73273 - $9 wireless Printer from Dell

    • Good one. Never got my hands on one of them :(

    • Simply the best that I ever had, helped me so much went through uni life

    • +1

i got a wireless one as well due to out of stock of the wired one :P V525W is the wireless one i got

    • This one is awesome.

Worked in an IT company back then. Everyone in the office knew how much this would cost and how much it costed extra to be shipped (was free shipped too).

I remember sending this email to all of our staff. Many bought one (including the Managing Director) just wanted to see how the deal goes (and/or want to see how Dell bleed)

Ordered one even when I don't need any. And got Dell telling me it runs out but would upgrade me to another beyter model. And they did!

I end up giving it to a friend as a house warming gift!

    • This was great. I bought it. Never could use and ended up selling.

The Air Asia business class flights to KL for cheaper than economy…
    That was awesome.

    • I went a bit overboard on that I ended up adding an extra leg to Sydney from the Gold Coast expecting proper business class… so was a little disappointed. But it was still insane having a fully reclining seat for $180 odd SYD to KL!

    • It was during Easter as well, when prices skyrocket! Good flight was flown

      • It was the only time I have ever had a decent sleep on a plane when I was paying for the ticket!
And I was surprised at how much I enjoyed KL with the family.

        • Haha right! I had flown on Air Asia Business Class once before (PVG-KUL), and it is VERY good for a budget airline. KL is probably my favourite South East Asian city.

        • +3

          @justcallmeboss:
I was also filled with a huge amount of smug self-satisfaction looking at all the schmucks down in cattle class who probably paid more for their crappy seats than I did for my express check-in, food, baggage, fully reclining seat etc…
          I know, I'm a bad person, but I can't help it.

        • +3

@BigTed: BigTed, you honestly could not have said it any better. I was exactly the same :P
Funny story, the guy sitting next to me in seat 1B was an avid OzBargainer. As soon as we both boarded, he pulled out his phone (from OzB) and checks OzBargain. We're good friends now haha

  • Actually didn't get this one through Ozbargain, got it via a friend of a friend, but it was a really good deal. I got a wine fridge and so did my brother.

Bought a Sherrin in 2011 that still gets kicked around the park! Even back then JB had the first comment, complete with neg votes.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/53735

32 votes for 2011 is close enough right?

Also bought this in 2012 which is still going strong even after getting daily use for 3.5 years…

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67496

    • Good old JB… Nice submissions!

      • Oops I meant JV.

        • Al good, we know what you meant :)

    McFlurry for $1.40 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/131568

The resultant weight gain still haunts me :P

Also the 10c google play sale that happened in 2013 or so (Cant find the link).

Since then, I've spent like $325 only on phone apps

    http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jkg.mypaida…

    • How? I recently bought an app for 0.99c and thought that was a big deal for a cheapo like me.

NYE Sydney 2009 free tickets to Bangararoo.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/19613

I know this is not still 'with me' to use but it was our first NYE fireworks at Sydney and was amazing and free. Definitely one of our families treasured deal.

    • If the family remembers, it's a gift that keeps giving - nice post.

I'm still kicking myself for missing the 6 burner BBQ from Bunnings for $129… I wish another deal like that would come up again

Thinkpad T520 $599 after Centrecom.com.au 50% cashback . For free if you can apply 50% Education Tax Refund for secondary students. AU dollar was really intense and at the climax at that time that it beat Yank's dollar (1 AUD = 1.033853 USD). Our currency will never be like that again for a really really long time.

PS: Lenovo farted up the keyboard really hard after that. They don't make it like they used to be

Also , AMD HD 7850 2gb @ $89 , turn out that the GPU was second hand and allegedly used to mine the bitcoin.
Still,I'm Surprised with Centrecom low shipping cost. They made alot of change with their web in 2015, and the shipping cost ain't that cheap anymore.

  • The Qantas flights to Europe via Expedia Brazil. Great holiday.

I've only been on OzBargain for about 18 months so I guess nothing I've got would qualify.
Personal highlights though would be the free Lavazza machine, or my still unsued tap king, 11 months later and still waiting on a deal for a reasonably priced bottle to put into it.

    • +1

      Welcome aboard the OzB train!!
Although not part of the 3year rule, I grabbed the last Lavazza machine at my local and was very happy with basically $30 for lavazza mlik frother, 48 capsules, and the coffee machine. That will be a deal that wont be beaten for a while!

    • +2

I was in a small country town (liquor land?) on the very last day and tried to redeem and they hadnt even heard about it.

I still frown every time I see "tap king".

It has to be this Morphy Richards Vorticity Vacuum Cleaner. RRP was like 5XX, and I am still using it :)

For the things I use all the time would have to be the two items below

Got the $20 canon printer delivered from target: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158545

I haven't got the link, but my favorite deal was $200 from Commbank for opening a commsec account and making a trade over $500 - or something to that effect.

    • Close second is etihad airways 30% off code for flying on a Wednesday.. got me return flights to london in peak season for $1600

      • +1

        Yep that's it.
And this is the etihad one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/194392

Edit: didn't read your post properly. I fail on the 3 year rule :D

        • Nah it's not a strict rule mate, chill - it comes close.
Massive deal - Ive even pm'd mick to see how his shares are still travelling! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86846?page=2#comment-12563…

        • @rawm:

Such easy money. Think of the time and effort to wait for, and sign up to, 4 bank $50 free offers. I was buying shares anyway so the $200 was pure cream.

  • +1

Sorry I'm not going to dig up links.

    1. 10% off good prices at Digi-direct for Canon with double cashback. Ended up spending about $1200 for 2 700D camera bodies, 3 lenses and a 600EX-RT. 10% off then $600 off with Aussie Canon warranty. Almost went 70D instead but read about some having severe misfocus issues that Canon wouldn't acknowledge and the saving wouldn't have been as good.

    2. BigW drop zone $3 deals on Xbox 360 games, Skylander Swapforce starter packs and certain headphones. Went completely stupid and gave away most of the Swapforce packs to family and friends (though I bought 6 for the WiiU and none of my friends own one so D'OH!).

  • PS vita $99

    :D

When JB had the wrong price for the Sony Power Banks but honored the sales.

  • Acer Iconia A1-830 - $70 after the cashback. Poor man's iPad Mini. Bought three for a merry xmas to the kiddies, they use them every day and love them. True bargain.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/150426

  • Might have to be all the half price or better $30 Telstra starter packs where the credit can be used for the Google Play Store.

Never paid full price for an app since then, and I still have a pack left.

  • +1

I'm pretty happy with free money from opening bank accounts with me bank and ing direct and the referrals…

Still enjoying Amex deals… Perhaps in November they will bring back th shop small campaign.

the adidas deal 50% off once in a lifetime

    • Missed that because I don't ozbargain in my sleep :(

    • the recent one yeah? it's crazy I can't believe i missed out.

    • I'm still kicking myself over this one!

I was on that morning when it was still on and I couldn't decide on the jacket sizing. I should have just got the shirts instead and then it was too late. :(

  • The MS $100 Xbox360 cashback Boxing Day 2013 was pretty sweet…got mine for $69 with 3 GoW games, my mate's console ended up being free with a copy of Arkham Origins! :)

  • Eneloops

    Come at me!

For me its a tossup between my iPad Mini retina from Optus:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/193711

And the ThinkPad T420 deal from centrecom for $699:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52289

I've still got that ThinkPad - it was my main and only computer when I moved overseas for the first time in 2012 and it was an absolute trooper :)

EDIT - didn't read the OP properly (duh) - the ThinkPad deal definitely fits in the rules though :)

    Pah iPad Mini

Can't beat free bonds undies, circa 2009, in my local store they had a 50% store discount running with the $10 cash back.

Still have the Acer Iconia 501 32 g 3g because of goodguys in WA taking 50% off instead of 5% back in 2011 Officeworks had it for 783$ price matched for 189$
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55817?page=3#comment.
    Still goes.

    • Good one! What an insane mistake by GG hahaha!

    • Forgot about that! Still have one too, it's only used to display digital sheet music these days though.

  • +4

I don't know about all time but the best recent deal was the Big W video game $3 clearance sale. Bought about $90 worth of games, then walked 50m out the store and right into an EB Games where I collected over $350 store credit for the unopened games.

  • +1

Logitech G27 - they were selling for around $400-450 at the time and thanks to Ozbargain I picked up one for $20 delivered

Whiteboard from Officeworks. I posted the deal myself not thinking it would get many people excited but I was wrong. Who knew people were so interested in buying a whiteboard?!

I still have it in my room although I rarely use it these days.

    • This was awesome - It was posted by you in 2013 so doesn't officially count, but I grabbed one! I still use it in my kitchen pantry as a reminder board (eg. pay bills, sweet nothings…) and this was a great deal, thanks for sharing back in the day.

I just remembered the HTC Legend Vodafone Deal I remember getting 3 for my whole family and sold each phone for 200 after the contract, good days !
