I've been a bit slow putting this one up.

It appears Kmart are discontinuing stocking Shimano fishing rod and reel combos.

As a result, pretty much all Shimano combos are anywhere between 25% and 60% off.

Add to that, until close of business today they have an additional 30% all fishing rods.

I picked up a few bargains:
11' telescopic rod - $1.40
Boat rod and reel originally marked @$89 - $24.50
Spinning rod and reel originally marked @$79 - $24.50

The same or similar reels were more expensive than the combos.

I've been to about 6 Kmarts in Sydney and most have very few Shimano combos left - so I'm not the only one who has spotted this….

NOTE: A lot of the combos are marked at their original prices - but you get a pleasant surprise when you scan them :)

      They have some GTS edition combos which are their upper tier - they are not bad, and certainly you won't buy better for the price.

      It is Kmart so don't expect too much….

        I'll check it out as I've been after a reel for a while but I have concerns over stock. Hopefully they won't run out (I'll report back later)

    I just got the last 12' + AX6000FA for $31.50
    RRP $99

    Shimano arent the best, but not the worst either. You cant go wrong with $31.50 :D

        This was at Marion in Adelaide……..there were no no more telescopics that I could see, (which seem to be the silly priced ones), but a few other shimano bits and pieces.

        Rod and reel were labeled at $60, it scanned through at $2, then a 30% discount of 60 cents.

        Just got home and had a closer look……
        rod is Matchline MLR 10mptr, reel ax6000fa as previously mentioned.

        code number of the product on my docket is 9315477132859

        friend has tried another store, (Anzac Highway) no telescopic combos, but some 12' telescopic rods. Apparently, when scanned, would not show price, but Kmart rep offered them for $20.
        Seems the telescopic combos are the ones to keep an eye out for…….

    Went to Kmart at Broadway in Sydney and there was no extra discount for shimanos, just the 30% applicable to all other rods

      I went to Broadway a couple of days ago and they only had Shimano rods then - not a single combo. It's the combos that are really heavily discounted. I suspect somebody found them there before us.

      Mine was marked at $60 but scanned at $2

    went to burwood and ringwood kmart (vic), no Shimano combos left, normal 30% off all rods/combos
