Sky Team Board Game $39 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass/ $65 Order) @ Kmart

Sky Team has just landed at Kmart! This is a pretty good price for a highly rated game. It's currently rated 8.2 on BGG and is the 3rd highest rated Family game. It's a two player game but there are solo variants on BGG that I definitely want to try.

You may want to risk it and see if Kmart clears this at a cheaper price later on. They do seem to clear all of these board games at the end of their run. I already picked up my copy as I really wanted to get this game and stock doesn't seem to be spread around like other previous board game releases.

Sky Team is a co-operative game, exclusively for two players, in which you play a pilot and co-pilot at the controls of an airliner. Your goal is to work together as a team to land your airplane in different airports around the world.

To land your plane, you need to silently assign your dice to the correct spaces in your cockpit to balance the axis of your plane, control its speed, deploy the flaps, extend the landing gear, contact the control tower to clear your path, and even have a little coffee to improve your concentration enough to change the value of your dice.

If the aircraft tilts too much and stalls, overshoots the airport, or collides with another aircraft, you lose the game…and your pilot's license…and probably your life.

From Montreal to Tokyo, each airport offers its own set of challenges. Watch out for the turbulence as this could end up being a bumpy ride!

Not a bad game, but overrated if you ask me. Decision space is far too narrow.

Sail is a much better quick 2p co-op game, albeit with a much weaker theme.

    • I was tempted to pick Sail up to take a previous order over a free shipping threshold but ultimately I went and bought other stuff. I have a mate who I don't think plays board games beyond Monopoly. I want to try to introduce other board games to them I think Sky Team's theme would help immensely.

    • Yeah I liked it, but it got hyped very highly for me and I thought it was "good". It gave me Wingspan vibes where the production values were high but the game was "good" so everyone said it was the best thing since sliced bread.

Thanks OP - looks good. Ordered with One Pass for free delivery - no stock showing near me.
Another box to add to my collection in the hope that one day someone else in the family will want to play!!!!!

If the aircraft tilts too much and stalls, overshoots the airport, or collides with another aircraft, you lose the game…and your pilot's license…and probably your life.

Yikes! The timing of this so close to those crashes in the US and South Korea…

Good game. Great replay value as every round is different.

Does buying the game entitle you to status credits with the Skyteam alliance?

Was going to buy but then saw its a woke DEI game /s

Wait a few months for the new 2025 version. Reprinted cover has white male pilots who got their jobs on merit alone. Gameplay has greatly reduced risk of accidents. /s

(Edit: just to be clear, I'm trying to be satirical and do NOT welcome this new dystopian reality.)

Thanks I'll wait then - hopefully it also shows that all of the planes were hand built by white men and that no purple hair was involved at all /s

  • Sold out :(

    • Seems OK for me. Where/How are you trying to buy it?

      • In Sydney, must be because they haven’t received stock yet

    • It's sold out online, still lots of stock in store depending on your location.

  • Looks interesting enough for $39, solo sounds fun. There is an expansion for this too although not sold at Kmart.
