These are a slightly cheaper option:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Johnsons-Baby-moisturisers-discomf…

Both using Subscribe and Save, the Curash are $2.13 per pack, whereas the Johnson's are $2.06.

I've used both and would be happy with either. Maybe the Curash are a little better. 7c better? I dunno…

    • Good find!

I don't have a baby that I need to wipe, but I prefer the Curash for myself, as they don't irritate my skin at all if I use them to wipe my face on the go. Johnson's has a slight tingling sensation, so don't recommended it for sensitive skin. Ingredients list for both is mostly good, but you can see why the Johnson's aren't quite as suited for sensitive skin…

Johnsons: Water, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Glycerin, Carbomer, Citric Acid, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Lauryl Glucoside, Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate, p-Anisic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Glyceryl Polycrylate.

Curash: Water, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol

Curash are 99% water, perhaps a better option.

something, something Phenoxyethanol- no good is what I remember reading from previous deals. Hence why we've moved to Huggies.

    • Phenoxyethanol has acute toxicity at high levels (obviously way outside the levels used in these types of products) - however there is research (that I've never looked into whether true or false) linking oral ingestion of the preservative with a potential neurotoxic effect.

Worth the risk for cheaper wipes? I'd say probably not, but then again I'm sure 99.99999999% of babies these wipes are used on are fine. Probably. I'm guessing obviously.

Since it's oral potentially it's fine to use anywhere a baby won't put in their mouth? But that means carrying two types of wipes wherever you go.

  • So huggies is the better wipes is it? Becoming a daddy soon, looking to start stocking up nappies, wipes etc. Still undecided on which to purchase price vs quality. What would you guys suggest? Thank guys happy weekend to all

We started with Huggies, so that became the benchmark for us. I purchased a box of Johnson's & Johnson's wipes from an Ozb deal about a month ago - I had some reservations as members in the comment section were mentioning that they were overly moist. While the wife hasn't complained about them, The commenters were right - they are overly wet to do any proper wiping. They tend to just smear everything (more useful as a final clean up).

Sister in law forgot a packet of these Curash wipes at ours last week and they are better than the Johnson's.

So i would suggest Huggies > Curash > Johnson's. Though it all depends what price you can get them for.

      • Thanks for sharing @Reggyscum would you mind sharing any other learnings for prefered (quality and avoidng dodgy irritants) items?

      • Strongly agree. Been wiping babies for 5 years now and your order is correct. Huggies > Curash > Johnson's.

That said, if the price is right I'll use any of them.

    • Congrats and same boat here. I was just thinking the other day we sure could use a Wiki!

      • Imagine the buying power if a million dad's suddenly snubbed one of the big 3. We should gang up on Curash until they staple gundams and shit to their products.

    • The Huggies 99% purified water hands down (albeit, we wait for specials, and when there are specials, they're usually sold out in my local Colesworth/IGA's, so stock up quick lol). Theres also the waterwipes you can buy which i believe overall are better but they're super expensive, we bought them once when woolworths had the box for half price, then we priced beat at babybunting, but apart from that, the huggies are fine.

As for nappies, we started with Huggies but moved to babylove after a few months, we felt as he got older babylove was a better fit and he stopped leaking overnight.

      • Thank you so much 🙏 I actually am interested in huggies water wipes as well. I think best value for newborn nappies it at Costco at the moment. I appreciate your advice

    • I always got the better brands when on sale but eventually converted to Kmart wipes and have been really happy with them. When you're using them for around the dinner table and general areas, don't forget you can rinse them under water to clean them and you can re-use them for basic cleaning tasks for a day or so. It's very easy to churn through 100's of these a week if you're not careful

      • Thank you for your advice I'll look into these wipes as well

I found this brand left a burning sensation. I moved to huggies after that. I use curash to clean my hands when i’m out fishing.

    • I feel the same way—I thought it was just me. I do feel the burning sensation and even started doubting myself, wondering if it's done on purpose to create a "warm" feeling. However, it's definitely not comfortable.

  • Aldi - hold my beer

    Mamia® Baby Fragrance free Wipes 480pk - $11
    $2.29 per 100 wipes
    Suitable for newborn babies

    • Im not well schooled on the subject but there are two types of baby wipes. With phenoxyethanol for cheaper or without for more expensive.

If you dont care then go to kmart. They have super cheap wipes.

If you dont want phenoxyethanol then get the cub wipes from coles….

      • Sparked my interest and just googled those cub wipes, seems to be a lot of negative experiences out there..

  • is not possible to have 99% water

    • Why? 99ml of water and 1gram of paper….
