taobao's system is different from ebay.
Its philosophy is list and sold without any charges, but you need pay for the advertisement, eg search key words, popular products, or side bar ads. And Taobao also require a fix amount of money as insurance for the customer, like the bond when we rent the house.

To conclude, you can open a online store without any fees, but if you want to earn some money. You have to invest a fortune.

      • +2

        perhaps they'll charge less fees

        hahaha no

      • +1

So who are you referring to as the biggest online shop? Amazon? Aliexpress?

      • Who's the biggest in AU (honest question)?

      • +1

Yeah, with a market cap of US$62 billion I'm sure they will start downsizing really soon and charge less fees.

        • So coming sundays we can expect 25..30..50 % discounts?

    • +12

yes because everyone is flooding to that other online site like eBay.

    • +3

It gets absolutely everything it deserves.

    • +4

sad to see? they want every cents what seller can get…..
look at what they charge for selling second hand item

10%(including postage cost) + paypal fees & stupid feedback system!

  • I am flying to Dubai on Aug 28, is the 60 days GST refund include June 29 when the 20% off sales starts? Or do I need to wait until Aug 29 to buy from ebay to claim the GST refund?

    Thanks

    • +24

If you wait till August 29 you won't even be in the country.

      • My bad, do I need to wait until June 30 to buy from ebay to claim GST (60 days rule)?

  • +2

"XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle" would be $452 with 20% off.

    That's a good deal isn't it?

    • +4

It would be… but honestly, I'm trying to hold off until November when Halo: MC Collection comes out and hopefully a bundle or LE Xbox One is released.

      • +2

Yup. If I'm going to buy an Xbox One just for Halo, then I may as well get a LE Halo console.

        • Yeah true. Price has gone up to $478 now with the 20% off

  • Any decent FHD tablets over 7"?

    • +6

      Yes. Plenty.

  • +19

With all these huge sales going on, is it proof that goods sold in Australia are way way overpriced if they can easily still make money after a 20% sale!!!

    • +1

True. But the 20% is more likely 12% eBay and 8 the retailer.

      • +2

I'm guessing those retailers probably work out a deal with ebay for cheaper fees per item sold. Otherwise, who wants to sell them at a loss?!

    • -1

Dear mate, you realized the truth just a moment ago, seriously?

  • +5

    There goes another Sunday…

  • Does DSE sell on ebay … I have never noticed it? Is that the best out of those above for a MacBook something?

    • +3

      17 posts…
      Welcome to ozbargain…..?
FYI Yes dickSmiths sell on ebay

    • -1

      Yes, dick is inside ebay.

  • +3

Wish DSE sold the Xbox One 4 game bundle

  • +7

start checking what you want now and see if the price actually increases on Sale day.
A couple of things I looked at last time, either increased in price or were actually cheaper even with ebay discount on the regular store (Dick Smith).
research folks… I am sure you do.

    • +5

Or disappear from their eBay store

      • +1

Or you buy something in their sale, wait excitedly for your order arrive, then they email you a few days later to say that the item was sold to you by accident and the transaction has been cancelled…

    • -1

yep… the G700s went up by around $8 or $9 since last night.

Let's see what it & the other items I've already tagged, actually get to by this Sunday.

  • Damn I feel ripped off now

    • +8

You should not. This offer is much narrower and only selected retailers. The last 15% was just about off anything! Much more attactive offer.

    • +4

After the 15%, the Synology I got was only about $22 cheaper. It should be $75 if it was offered at the normal price.. It is a bit of a "sham" - but clever ozbargainers will know what to buy!

  • Well wasn't expecting another one so soon. Looking forward to tasty deals.

  • Haha, here we go again.

  • +2

i don't understand… stores usually have 20% sales anyway even 'up to 70% off' sales… any difference? and having them jack up price on all stock before people can buy.

  • Fifa 14 Xbox 360 new for $32, great deal.

  • -1

Hell yeah. eBay would have followed their 15% sale on OZB. Most successful sale rated by fellow bargainer. So this could be ONE factor for next 20% offer. Cheers.

  • Not much for TVs

  • +1

If I win an auction can I pay on sunday and get the 20% off? Anyone know from last deal?

    • I don't think any of those companies do auctions. I could be wrong

      • +3

        Kogan does

    • +1

I'm keen to know this too. Supercheap have some great deals that end on 28/6. If I could just buy it now.. then pay on Sunday… hmmm!

  • +1

hope coupon is CBIGSUNDAY.. unless they know the professionals are on the prowl again :D

    lol @ no giftcards

  • +13

PS4 would come down to $383 yeah right……Lets see how much it goes up too.

    • +13

They'll be out of stock on Sunday

  • iPads not excluded ?

  • +3

Plenty of time to contemplate and pick out what you want. Need to keep an eye on the prices and keep the bastards honest.I saw certain retailers (Gifte) increasing their prices as last Sunday unfolded.

  • T100 from TGG will be down to $405.
    New lowest price this Sunday

    • It will probably go up to its RRP $599 then you apply 20% off from there. Lets see.

      • Nope they didn't up their prices.
$400 T100 is the new low

    • +1

One of my friends bought T100 for $404.90 at OW Box Hill. Good luck

      http://oi59.tinypic.com/16bwnxh.jpg

      • Technically, this it's $403.40 off eBay. Minus another 2% if you remember the cashback.
But then again, that's if they don't jack their prices up…

  • Yeah lots of disparities in price between many of these stores online sites and ebay… Still I'm sure plenty of bargains.

  • mmm i dun see dicksmith nor tgg stock macbook air?

  • Anyone have suggestions of a laptop from any of the sellers? I had a look, but couldn't see any with i5/i7, 8gb ram and an SSD.. might pull the trigger on this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/148245 instead.

    • +1

From what I have read about Horize, they seem to be well put together with quality parts and get good reviews. Also the store gives good service too. As long as you keep in mind that you need to add an Operating System yourself or add as an extra. I would be happy with this model as my next laptop.

    • If the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 comes down to $1063 this Sunday it will be an absolute steal.
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-15-7000-Series-HD-L…

      • The max discount is $200 right? So it would go down to $1129?

        • they increased the price

  • +8

Some interesting neg feedback for DSE on ebay "

    http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&u…

    • +1

Wow. That's a lot of negs.

    • +1

      Geez that is terrible

    • Still waiting for the 20% discount offered !!!! Paypal debited full amount-why??

Did they not enter the coupon?

      • I saw this feedback the other day and freaked out and checked my PayPal and it said it had debited $2700 but when I clicked to view more detail they had actually only debited $2200 (after a $500 credit). That person probably didn't use the code or did even check how much PayPal actually took.

    • +3

Gave USED item in DAMAGED packaging. Disgraceful!!!

Oh Dick, up to your old tricks

      • +2

Sounds like they got Dicked around

    • -3

I think some math lessons are in order. Positive = 1197. Neutral = 12. Negative = 41. You work out the percentages. HINT: They're small.

      • +4

It would still be quite worrying to buy something and hear nothing at all, then you have to keep calling or another case where you buy it and its not in stock or "too cheap". It's a serious concern and a lottery at best.

      • +7

        Is that you dick?

      • +5

So… how long have you worked for DSE?

      • +10

Luckily for you it's right there, 97.5%

Wholesalers from Hong Kong with razor thin margins manage to stay above 99% and don't pull crap like selling used as new. It's pretty sad that a massive Aussie chain with an image to uphold can't do the same.

        • Why would they care about their image? Folks are clawing at the door for Sunday to come again - knowing DSEebay is a lottery at best. All the masses see is 20% OFF!!! Their feedback could literally be 0% and most people couldn't care less.

    • edit* wrong comment

    • +2

Only a matter of time till the financial press wake up to the shenanigans at dick smith. Constant sales to boost apparent turnover. Bad service / negative feedback damaging brand name. Dodgy stock levels with phantom stock, pulling out of contracts, sending wrong item etc. not normal behaviour by an asx listed company.

  • Have TGG the price guarantee policy on eBay?

    • Dick Smith (Arndale & Tea Tree Plaza) & TGG Gepps Cross refused to price match Dick Smith's ebay 15% off last time as I want to pick up a TV.

      • Because it is not Dick Smith's 15% off. It is ebay/PayPal's 15% off.

  • +13

Those participating stores will increase their prices by 25% come Saturday. Guaranteed/10

    • And you'll be back apologising and begging forgiveness if they don't no doubt.

    • +3

Apparently nearly 900 people thought and found differently from you and your 13 mates.

  • +3

Probably an indication to which stores raked in the most cash for eBay last Sunday and their keenness to go again. Just make it a permanent thing, eBay. ;)

  • No stacking discounts with Supercheap unfortunately. Their current EOFY sale ends Saturday 28June.

  • This is why I have no money in my bank account. :p Might be time to grab a PS4 I think.

    • +1

I grabbed a PS4 from DSE in the last Sunday sale, delivered to WA in Tuesday. Very impressed!

  • +4

Kogan increased the price of their 27" cinema display already. it was around $450 now it's $500

    • I just bought a refurbished 27" 1440 for $190~ during last sale on sunday, arrived today and perfect, no dead pixel. Just a little bit dirty on the stand… I'm really impressed

  • +2

    No stahp it…my wallet!

    • +2

Can anyone spot any 144hz monitors from any of these retailers?

  • +1

    there goes my Sunday again

  • Does dicksmith have a price guarantee? I just bought a tv at 15% and now its 20% which 100+ difference.

    • Cc price protection?

    • So additional 5% discount infers the original price is >$2000?

Or are you calculating max discount from Sunday's deal was $100, and this is $200?

In any case I doubt they honour any price guarantee but you might be lucky in returning the goods and re-buying.

      • Do you know how i can return the tv that i bought not on sale? I bought it from ebay australia and want to rebuy it at the 20%. its only been a week. Hows anyone returned something from dicksmith before?

        • This is what I get, can anyone shed some light if you had experience on returning dicksmith items?

dicksmithonline is out of the office until 07/01/2014 and may not be able to respond to your message.
