        • I think it needs to work as reasonably expected. Not unreasonable for someone to expect a Dyson attachment to fit a Dyson.

        • +1

          @tonka:
No. How many different products do Dyson have? If you bought a USB cable for your iPhone would you expect any USB iPhone cable to work on any iPhone? And no it won't.

          Not rocket science here.

        • @fido666

Oh, and nowhere on the sale conditions did it state "no returns".

It's actually not even possible to list an item on eBay without stating a return policy.

If you click the Postage and payments tab and scroll down you will see the following.

If you have an issue with item, any The Good Guys store across Australia will be more than happy to discuss this with you. We will provide refunds pursuant to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (the "Act") namely, if the goods you purchased:- A. Are not of merchantable quality; B. Are not fit for its purpose; C. Do not match the sample. You should return your goods within a reasonable time if A-C above occurs and provide Us with: Proof of purchase by producing the original Tax Invoice (your Tax Invoice will be provided on despatch from a Store); The Goods listed on the Tax Invoice with all original packaging and manuals enclosed (including any Bonus Offers); Suitable ID to identify you as the original purchaser; and Details of the fault or issue with the product and that the fault or issue was not caused by you.

        • @Shonky
I happened to see the ad when the sale was on. The attachments said fit most models and listed an exception which wasn't the model being discussed.

As I understand it the attachment does fit but won't work as described. So not false advertising on the 'fit' but the function.
Reasonable for a consumer to expect an attachment that fits and is not on the list excluded from being compatible to actually work as specified.

Not sure if you saw the previous discussion on this b4 you piped in Shonky.

        • @Shonky: If you would like to use you iPhone analogy It would be buying a cable that says compatible with most iPods with exception of model 5c. Buying that cable and finding that yes it does fit but doesn't actually work.

        • @tonka:
No. The poster said there was no description about what it would/wouldn't fit. He also said that he took someone else's recommendation that it would fit. So if someone on the internet says it will work, then the vendor has to honour that?

As for the iPhone cable analogy, it's perfectly good. Your post makes little sense. If the description said it would not work on a 5C then sure it won't work. If it said nothing about compatibility then do your research. If it said "Works with all iPhones" then you have a case.

        • @Shonky: As I mentioned there are previous comments relating to this where the ad description is more comprehensive that state there was a description. As mentioned I also know as I saw the ad at the time.
The iphone analogy is if you owed a model other than the 5c and it still didn't work.
The poster also says it was inaccurately described. As I understand there are 2 different purchases perhaps one was inaccurate and one had no description.
I do know at the time i nearly made the same purchases and description indicated they were compatible.

        • @tonka: It's OK Tonka, all sorted now. Went to my local TGG store today after calling them on Friday and swapped the DC59 and attachment for the DC59 Animal. They gave me the Animal version for less than the website price was last weekend (shelf price was much higher today - $598) and cash back for the difference so I got full credit for the invoice price), I call that a win :-).

It just goes to prove that what I was originally told about a refund/exchange not being possible was pure BS. The lady I dealt with today did say they are supposed to go via support centre for it but it's too much mucking around. TGG stores are all individual franchises so it's a bit like HN and different stores obviously have different return policies. My local store will definitely be getting my business again but Chadstone I'll steer clear of in future.

        • @fido666: Good stuff, my local TGG are awesome. When I tried query through the support centre though all I got was 'talk to the hand' so I know what you mean.

    • I was able to refund something last time during their 30% off eBay sale as a change of mind (changed my mind about which tablet I wanted to buy) so their system is capable of it. Took a week for it to come through though.

      • There you go JasRulz63, I'm more pi$$ed off at the attitude I got from the store person and the BS I was fed.

  • Because I'm a retard I ordered the Note 3 White instead of Black from Kogan. Anyone in Sydney have a brand new Black Note 3 they wanna swap? :/

    • Contact Kogan, if they're the same price and they haven't been shipped they might allow you to switch. Worth a shot.

  • Bought a laptop from TGG for $307.2, normal price was $379 that day. When i was leaving a feedback on ebay for them today i've noticed the price is $599. So i got it for pretty much half price. It was $379 for only the last 2 weeks of June. Thanks OP :)

  • has anyone received anything for DSE ebay?

    • Assume you "from"

Yes. Galaxy S5. Ordered about 11pm Monday night. Received Thursday morning (delivered from Perth for som reason).

      • My tablet hasn't even been shipped yet. Ordered on 29th of Jun, given an estimated delivery on or before 7th of Jul. I don't think they can deliver it on time.

    • Yeps all my stuff I ordered bar the $10 headphones have been delivered.

      • you received the headphones? mine have not been shipped yet. i sent a message to them and as expected they dont respond either.

        • "Bar" means "except for".

    • Ordered a set of headphones on Sunday morning, item only dispatched this afternoon. It said on eBay that I should had received the item on or before yesterday (July 3) shrug.

Tracking number I received is not active/wrong.I assume it's incorrect as it seems way too short.

      • Tracking didn't immediately activate for me either. They had the number before it was actually sent which actually shows some organisation on their behalf on the logistics side to me.

        Format was DS######

        • That will work on the Star Track tracking. Only works once it is in the system though.

        • @jlogic: thanks guys. I haven't received a conformation email or updated that it has been send,n no reply when I pm ed them either. Read the comment section and people are giving heaps of neg.. Got the 2 3tb hd hopefully it come..

  • I ordered a vacuum cleaner and hard disk off The Good Guys on Monday.

Its Friday night and I have not received any emails or messages from them. This is very poor.

I have just sent them a message but if I get no reply from them by next week should I contact Paypal and raise a dispute?

    • Odd you should have got a phone call the next day…

      • I was at work and don't have an answering machine.

I hope that my order is not dependent on me answering my home phone….

        • It shouldn't. I didn't receive any phone calls and it took 2 days after placing my order to arrive.

          All the best.

  • So is there a Big Sunday tomorrow?
Haven't seen anything apart from some Terms and Conditions in the original link above.

    • Yes, there's a banner ad on the main eBay page about it. It doesn't start till 10:00 am though.

      • no deals this sunday?

        • +1

Looks like the same Group deals that were available before 10am

    Ordered 29th, not shipped yet…

    • same here driving me nuts!

      • Got a reply from them. At least my order won't be cancelled.

        Hi,

We apologise for the delayed response, due to the high level of messages we have received it has taken us longer than usual to respond. In specific reference to your order, it appears that low stock levels have resulted in a processing error. Your order will be reallocated and shipped from an alternative location as soon as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience that may have been incurred and thank you for your patience.

        Cheers,

        dicksmithonline

I thought that Dick Smith ships from their central warehouse?

        • @A3Australia:
Nice edit… USA model you reckon!?!

My S5 came from Inaloo in WA which I doubt is their central warehouse…

        • @A3Australia:

It appears that it depends on what the item is. I've had three orders shipped so far:
          - Note 3 (came from WA - Perth store)
          - Printer (came from WA, a different store)
          - PS4 accessories (came from NSW distribution centre)

All were delivered via Star Track Express.

        • Nice edit… USA model you reckon!?!

Kogan HK sent me a USA Model iPhone 5s - lacks support for OPTUS 4Gplus LD-LTE.

        • @A3Australia:
Ah the risks of a grey import. You were replying to a post about a DSE order hence editing your post and removing the USA model reference.

        • Ah the risks of a grey import.

A private import of a grey import it seems, (USA to Hong Kong, and then Hong Kong to me in Australia) but yes - always risks. Have to balance the saving against the risks.

You were replying to a post about a DSE order hence editing your post and removing the USA model reference.

Yes always a danger when having several tabs open and replying to different threads.

        • Just received an email informing me of the shipment. Should have contacted them earlier.

        • @junix0210:
          Hey Junix.
Did u have to email/ call them? I ordered 2 things. I received an email about delivery confirmation for one of the items. I have no idea whats going on with the second item.

        • @mmd: Yes, I emailed them yesterday, after I noticed that they were still selling this item online, as it's too strange that they didn't ship items when they had stock. You'd better contact them asap if you don't wanna wait longer.

        • Finally got my email…
Saying that it has been over ordered and that item is on back order.
i can wait/swap for something with the same value/refund.

REFUND IT IS. Dont think i will ever order anything from DSE.Ebay anymore.

    • Hi,
We apologise for the delay in responding to your message. Due to demand on this item, we exceeded our forecast sales.

We have been working hard to find a solution and have stock arriving early next week from Logitech to fulfill your order.

Your order will be dispatched to you with the highest priority. We appreciate the patience you have already displayed awaiting our reply. Please accept our sincere

apologies for the inconvenience caused to you and the delay in shipping your order out.

      Have a great weekend!

  • For those that purchased Dysons do the silver/grey plastic parts on yours have swirl marks in the moulding? Seems quite random in pattern but all the grey pieces on my DC59 seem to have this.

    • They do on my DC59 animal

    • They are flow marks from the injection moulding. My DC34 Animal has a bit of this. Purchased from Myer about 9 months ago. Not an issue but was a little surprising.

      • Thanks Mucchan and Shonky, was wondering if I got sold a 2nd there for a while. It's purely cosmetic but just weird to see on such an expensive item.

    • Yeps on mine as well… I guess it for individuality :)

  • Ordered from Dick Smith Online on 30 June for a Samsung Tab 3 8". Have not received any email re dispatch. Sent them an email on Friday-4July. No reply from Dick Smith yet. Very annoying.

I bought a screen protector and case from Dick smith from this sale (for the iPad Air I bought from Kogan).

Screen protector wasn't the one I ordered and the case arrived already opened and possibly used, so I took it to my local Dick Smith store to return them and the guy who served me (the manager) was rude as hell. Makes me remember why online shopping kicks the crap out of buying from a store, telling me to 'get over it' because the case had been opened and not wanting to help. Why should I 'get over it' when an item that I bought had clearly been previously opened and as I was giving it as a gift I wanted it to be new. He was even mad because I gave him the invoice showing that I got 20% off like I was trying to swindle him to get more money from him.

On the plus side the iPad Air arrived from Kogan already about 3 weeks quicker than expected. The Australian plug was broken and hopefully they'll send a replacement but everything else is fine (got enough chargers that it's no issue for now).

  • DSE trying to dicked me, I was following up on my purchased when they just replied and said item wasn't in stock anymore where it clearly shows it's in stock on their webstore. /pissed

  • I bought a Dell laptop worth $750 but then changed my mind and requested cancellation.

Interestingly they refund through bank credit so I made $150 and they also organised pick up for free.

    Loving it!
