    • series 6 Samsung models are quite good
I have a 2011 version and they aint bad

    • I bought the 48 inch version

All reports are that the Samsung series 6 are the best for the price, unless gaming lag is a real issue for you in which case go the Sony 800

thats a great price if you can get the 20% off on top of it

  • Is it possible to pickup to in store from The Good Guys? Would like to save shipping cost for the separate orders and order another item without having to pay double for shipping. As i read shipping is also refunded if picked up in store.

Should I just call them this morning when they open and get them to holds the item? Then order another one? Since item has already been allocated to my local store.

    • They actually phoned me to confirm my online order and asked whether I really wanted to have the item delivered as they said I was welcome to pick the item up in-store. I think with the amount of orders they are getting, their preference would be to have the customers come in and collect. Enjoy!

    • Do The Good Guys send you an email stating which store the item has been allocated to?

      • Yes.

        • I just rang the allocated store and was told by whoever answered the phone, they are still unsure of allowing ebay pickups. They told me once the item has been picked then they will call to let me know if its ok to be picked up.

        • Customer Service told me the policy for eBay orders is not to allow pickups yet it seems some stores do. I ended up placing 2 separate orders and 1 went to a store 17km away and the other to a store 7 km away, it depends who has the stock I'm told. The 1st order had 3 items in it and there was no combined postage discount, just the 20% off component on the individual item delivery charges.

        • Got a call back from The Good Guys store processing my order. They won't allow pickup due to ebay terms and conditions. Even though they have allowed pickup from that store for previous ebay deals.

        • Some inconsistencies here. I phoned my local Good Guys this morning and the guy there said no worries to in-store pick up. He also mentioned they would refund my delivery fee.

        • I paid for my order and noticed it was bring processed at Chadstone which was a few km's from me. Rang them up and the girl said I can't pick up as all the orders gets despatched as soon as they come in. I told her that I ordered the item an hour ago but she was adamant that it's already been despatched.

          I call BS…but hey $5 shipping isn't going to kill me…

        • +3

The Chadstone store don't like people coming in as I found out during the last GG sale, something about it being too tedious to process shipping refunds…..don't know why as I would imagine that for a store you would like people coming in on the odd chance they may buy something else that catches their eye while there….

        • I got no joy with them either regarding pick up, told me the item was already dispatched. Email confirmation of dispatch didn't come in till over an hour later and even then that's just to say it's been booked with Aus Post as an eParcel so I call BS too. My other order went to an entirely different store who were supposed to ring me once they picked the order to arrange pickup/transfer if they could but so far nothing.

        • I called my store in the morning asking if I can come pick up, they said ok, even told me about refunding postage. Later on the day in store… "err sorry, its with Aust post now"
          Grrr

        • I haven't even got the email from TGG's yet, just confirmation from ebay and PayPal.

      • called the guy in Alexandria store, they allow pickup but no refund on the delivery fee

        • shifty. probably pockets it for himself

  • What's the warranty like for these deals? I'm planning to get the Dyson Vacuum from Good Guys

    • Same warranty as normal, with Dyson I believe it's 2 years (at least that's what the Dyson website states).

      • +1

Sweet. Thanks. Got the DC44 Animal for $366.12 with delivery. RRP is $549 on Dyson's website, and most Aus stores still sells them for around $420-$450 mark.

        • Aaand just got my DC44. Ordered around 9am, delivered around 12 noon. Can't be happier :)

  • the invoice from TGG has the full amount without showing any discount, wondering if I return the item in store will I get refund full amount or what?

    • Usually they refund you through a reversal of the same method that you paid with so doubtful but you'll never know until you try.

      • +2

That is Evil, but it might work actually.

    • Look at Point 12 in the T & Cs above, it says No.

    • Nope. If you refund it in-store, they process the refund through their eBay team, and you have to wait a week for the refund. This is what happened when I refunded something in the 30% off sale they had a few months ago.

  • +1

In case someone is interested - Dyson DC37C is back in stock.

  • Nevermind. Answered my own question

  • love to know what the highest amount saved by an OzB'er from this deal is - technically the max you could have saved is $1000 - i'm on $283 saved

    • +3

I love to know the amount spend on things that were "needed"

      • I love to know the amount spend on things that were NOT really "needed" but just bought because of the discount. Ebay must love ozbargainers.

    • $252

    • i'd love to know the collective amount spent on machines who's function, at the most basic level, is to suck air.

mr dyson is a clever bloke.

    • I bought a new TV (with discount and delivery), which was was $100 less than the next best offer I could find in any store, which excluded delivery - nominally saving $200

I then bought a new sound system, which ended up costing the same as it would from Myer at the moment (excluding delivery from Myer, not that its a big item so delivery wouldnt have mattered) - nominally saving $199.50.

So technically $400, but in reality I only saved $100 plus delivery fees. I would have had to get the TV delivered so realistically $135 or so (less whatever I could have negotiated off from in store). But then again I saved having to go to multiple stores.

If I can convince TGG to allow pick up of the sound system, thats another $50 saved (anyone notice that TGG made their delivery fee for large items $40 ($50 less 20% discount) even though their standard fee is $35…)

All things purchased were items I have been looking at for several months so I'm confident that the prices I got were the lowest that they have ever been - to date! Probably next week they will drop lower, but… whatever.

The actual savings were pretty minimal I guess.

    • I'm on about $400! - stuff that i needed :)

  • Why is this no longer a highlighted deal it's still active.

    • +11

      people run out of money?

      • lol

  • +2

I am really surprised neither DSE, Kogan or The Good Guys have listed 128gb Ipad Air's.

I reckon they would sell like hotcakes and the buyers would get their full $200 discount…

  • If people are still hesitant about vacuum cleaners - I got the DC54 Animal bagless + filterless vacuum for around $565.

To gauge the price look here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/141516

It was popular for $719.28 2 months ago at Master's. Other places are also selling it for $700 now.

So this deal is a big plus for me.

  • Dick Smith didn't include my Samsung Tablet in my invoice. Hopefully they don't can it.

  • Non of my DSE orders have been processed yet, but TGG orders already sent me tracking numbers.

    DSE is very slow!!

    • I got my Good Guys order the same day (picked up and refunded delivery cost). Big thumbs up for The Good Guys.

    • I found DSE Ebay to be much slower than their own online store from order to dispatch to being delivered :|

    • My Tab invoice finally came through this arvo thank goodness.
I'll now be able to do exactly the same thing I currently do on my 8" Acer.

  • +2

has anyone got any invoices from kogan? havnt got mine.

  • Just went into gg and they wouldnt let me take my order even though it was sitting on the counter and yet to be booked for delivery and was prepared to forfeit postage.

Despite checking prior to rocking up they also wouldn't match their own price in-store when it came to it on a tz40 camera

…luckily jb's was just up the road and would and threw in a 4GB card for my troubles!! IE matched GB eBay price less 20%!

FYI they use fast way in warrawong as couriers

  • Wanted to buy a Samsung Galazy 3 8", I think they went up the price.
    Dick Smith $268 before 20%
    Good guys - $297 before 20%.
Anyone brought cheaper then this price?

  • Went to TGG today to see if they would give me the ebay price on http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111327495004?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN… Washing machine, they had it for $798 and he told me straight out they wont beat ebay prices….
So I bought it on ebay.

  • Literally spent hours upon hours looking, only to end up buying the 4tb seagate from TGG for $152.

    • I wanted a handheld vacuum but the one I wanted was sold out. Couldn't bear using my Dyson to vacuum my car.

      • How come?

        • Personal opinion here, I don't like using things that I use outdoors on things I use indoors. That's why I wanted a cheapo handheld for the car. Was looking for the Vax handheld but that wasn't online in the eBay store so was about to get the Breville but the 1 out of 5 ratings for the a vacuum cleaner put me off, especially when the commentary was how it doesn't really suck.

        • I've always found the carpet that needs the best vacumm suction is the car, always sand etc. The cheapies never do the job.

  • Are they adding listings? The Phillip XL Fryer in white was in the Good guys store before the sale commenced and then disappeared which was disappointing but now it's back. So I quickly purchased it, it definitely wasn't there on Sunday :)

    I found Broden

  • Got to say that after originally negging this deal specifically for TGG upping prices and pulling stock on the Canon 600D, im pretty happy with it all now. They let me pick up my 2 seperate orders in store and refunded the delivery. Got an amazing deal and already have it in my hands.

    • If only there was a guarantee I can pickup the item and get a refund for delivery, I would buy from them. Shipping is about $44. I am not sure also if pickup will be at upper mount gravatt TGG.

    • Did you end up getting a good deal on a 600D?

    … besides the price? I can't see the difference, I must be blind… o.O

    • +3

The more expensive one has a motorized head for picking up stuff like pet or wife hair :-)
If you look back through the comments you'll find that someone tested all of them in store. I think he ended up with the more expensive Animal version.

      • +1

Also, the Animal model has a "MAX" setting on the rear. Not sure it makes a dramatic difference, I just leave it on.

        Jack

        • Depends on what you are vacuuming. If you are using it on hard floors turn it off for more battery life :)

        • Both the models that Jakxon linked have the boost feature, it's only the included accessories that are different. There's no motorised head on the non-animal version of the DC59.

  • +2

For those travelling overseas in the next month….the invoices are actually issued based on the original price (before 20%) markdown! That means more GST refund from TRS!! Win!! :-)

Thanks for the reminding, now I just have to pack my new Fujitsu Air Con and Dyson DC37 into my baggage…

  • Just bought http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GARMIN-nuvi-3597LMT-In-Car-GPS-/2…? for $223 - seems very popular!

  • Would the Toshiba Encore 8" for $199 be the best tablet left for under 300?
Only just want it for browsing and the occasional game

  • Will Kogan send their group buy deals straight away or are they going to ship in four weeks time?

  • Any good prices on samsung tablets ?????

    • I am also looking for a samsung tablets, either 8" or 10".

      • I got the 10" off Dick Smith yesterday for $249. My next pick would be the 8" 4g version. Check them and TGG for covers too.

        • 8" after 20% at dick smith $214.40. Do you think the price is good?

        • Compared to normal prices yes.

        • Thanks scott. I brought the last one on dick smith.

        • No probs. Aside from occasional sales you've saved about $100 on what stores have been charging over the last few weeks for the 8".

This shows what people paid at DSE back on the 18th
          http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&item…

    • Got the note 10.1 2014 16gb wifi for $429.

  • Wow, got my Dyson delivered from TGG today! Not even 1 business day!

    • +1

Nothing from TGG here so far, not even a tracking number :-(

  • Got an email from Velocity saying have snagged some points too…
(thanks to the people that pointed that out :)

    • I clicked through to eBay from the Cashrewards site prior to placing my 2 orders and so far no credits are showing. It says you have to wait up to 3 days to see your transactions though.

  • +3

Just brought a DC59 Animal. Wasn't really in the market for one but I hate getting the big Dyson out to do the tiles or clean small areas. I hope it lives up to it's name - I have two Blue Heelers that shed all the time.

    • Grats on the purchase :) I really want to pull the trigger on one myself but vacuum cleaners in my experience tend to last several years, just not sure how viable the battery on these sticks is going to be after 24 odd months.

      • bought similar model 2 years ago ( less 2 days ) and had a problem with the battery cutting out after 5 secs, could press again and it would work for a little bit , but cut out again.
Called Dyson, they said sounds like a problem, just within the 2 years so i will send out a new battery and main head unit. no charge.

We use the unit every day. so much easier than traditional one.

        very happy with dyson support.

        • Don't forget thanks to our awesome Australian consumer law if a product fails days (a reasonable amount of time) after it's warranty period they are still obliged to assist you.

  • Did anyone go the Airbeatz shower speaker from DSE ?
