20% off Dyson Vacuum Cleaners @ Myer - Maybe Further 10% off @ Masters Via Best Price Guarantee

530

EDIT: Masters have dropped their prices and are now 10% cheaper than Myer's sale price. You no longer need to ask for a price match.

Similar scenario to a recently posted deal by libai0915

Myer have 20% off Dyson vacuums and accessories. Masters will, or should, beat Myer's price by 10% with their Masters Best Price Guarantee

There is a further 5% off the Masters price for those who have discounted wish cards. There is also a 15% Master's discount couponbut it is highly unlikely you will get any staff member to give you both a price match and then a further 15% off. But this is Ozbargain and I know people will give it a try regardless.

Bonus cordless tool kit worth $99 if you purchase a DC59 or DC59 Animal before Mother's Day.

  • Myer Perth told me it is just 15% off but doing the calculations it is 20%. Great deal, hope Masters will do all of us ozbargainers a favour and do the price beat by 10%. Thanks OP, great post.

  • +3

If you have the actual 15% voucher, you can scan it yourself just before paying. Perhaps have a few more items in your trolley to buy after the pricematch so that the attendant goes away =)

    • +2

or even print out and stick to back of rewards card

      • I like how you think sir.

  • Anyone know how long the Myer sale is on for?

  • +1

Myer Perth told me that it lasts until Sunday.

    • Yes it says on the home page Mid Season Sale - 5 days to go (ends Sunday 27/4/14)

  • Anyone to vouch that this has worked at Masters?

  • Masters best price policy excludes small appliances

    • Does it state this anywhere?

      • +1

Technically it does (had a very rude online live chat person on the Masters site ask me if I had read their terms & conditions, and as I am terrified of conflict, I actually went to read the bloody thing..)

Under the 50 Reasons to visit Masters:
"2. If you find a cheaper price, we’ll beat it by 10%. For appliances, we'll match it."

Was gutted because my first experience was with this P**l guy on their website who was so snarky & rude, but when I went in today, the sales girls I dealt with were super nice people!

  • If no masters I assume we should be able to get $50 off with the american express deal if we pricematch with goodguys?

    • Yes you can, but TGG will only match myer current special price rather the masters matched price.

      • You can purchase at the Good Guys regular price and then return to get the 120% price guarantee. That we you get the $50 + 120% of the difference.

        • Do it because you can

  • DC35 is sold out! Argh…
Will Masters price match sold out item?

    • Sold out online. May still be stock in store.

      • But how can Masters know if it's still in stock to beat Myer's price?

        • They can ring the store which has stock. The prices in store will be exactly the same as on the website. That will require you to first find a store that has stock.

        • So can you all stop buying from one Myer store immediately and leave at least one item in stock please and post which store it is in here.. we need some one in the Myer store to guard that last one in stock. Does this sound like a plan? :)

        • I don't think people are buying from Myer. The idea is to pricematch at Masters and get a better price.

    • One I'm looking for too!

  • +2

THANKS… been REALLY wanting one of these to appear. Just called Masters and scored myself the DC59 Animal. They told me someone purchased one with x3 different gift cards. If you are reading this you know who you are!! :)

  • +1

If you're after a DC37C Origin Barrel Vacuum Cleaner - they are selling at Appliance Central for $530 (with free shipping to some metro areas). If Master's pricematch it will be cheaper at $477.
    http://appliancecentral.com.au/shop/index.php?route=product/…

I just used the $530 price with TGG for their 30 day price guarantee with the DC37C I bought through the 30% off TGG/paypal promotion for $578 (less $100 thanks paypal).

  • +1

+1 for the effort and calculations!

  • i got declined by masters for a pricematch/beat from Appliance Central Dysons. Their condition was it has to be a competitor of Masters, local shop to where the masters is visited.

    oh well

    • Master's price matching policy (http://miy.masters.com.au/about/masters-promise), it includes online prices + shipping.

      • yup that what i told him, even bought the paperwork and all, still declined

        maybe he is racist

    • Wow, I scored one from Masters using a price match from the exact same store just a couple of weeks ago.

  • Why OZbargains didn't mention about The Good Guys 50% off Dyson Stick and Hand Held Vacuum Promotion (“Promotion”) between 01/04/14 to 21/04/14???
    Argh…

Still waiting to see if anyone can get a further 15% discount from Masters after 10% price match discount :-)

  • OP. You rock. Been wanting a stick vacuum.

Got myself a DC59 Animal and a refund arranged for the difference +10%.

No excuse for messy floors now!

  • I got DC54 Multifloor price matched and 10% off from masters store in chullora nsw.
Wanted to buy animal if 15% voucher from caltex/woolworth worked on top of this price match!
But vacuum is not covered on 15% off voucher.

Pretty happy with the purchase and house is looking cleaner and cleaner and cleaner……

  • The girlfriend bought a D37C from Masters yesterday, pricematching TGG @ $548 (Masters was $578). Came down to about $493.00.

  • +1

Fantastic!! Thanks Op. The missus has wanted the DC59 Animal for over a month now. Flat out refused to pay $590, and missed the DJ's deal. Just got the last one at Masters Scoresby for $467. Happy with that.

  • Off the topic, Does anyone have problem with Dyson charger which has hairline crack around?just its desgin? Or someone helps me how to upload the photo. Thanks

  • +1

Brilliant stuff. Just grabbed the DC59 Animal for $467. Masters tried to squirm their way out of it for that price due to "Myer shipping rates". However, it was quickly dismissed after proving on their computer that Myer has free standard shipping at the moment. Can't wait to track sand across the house so I can unleash the animal.

Big thank you to the op

    • With officeworks and Bunnings, their system will match the price and drop their normal price state wide to be the same or $1 lower to stop any further matching. I think Masters is not that advance yet ?

  • +2

Hey guys, when I went today, Masters Ellenbrook & Joondalup are both OUT of the DC59 Animal, but Masters Brighton has 1 left as of this arvo ~2pm 23/4
I made the trek up there to get it and the girls were really nice!
    Got the DC59 Animal Handstick for $467.28 (RRP$649 plus 20% myer discount = 519.20 plus Masters 10% price beat = 467.28)
Just an FYI, I called up Good Guys in Osborne Park & the price they gave me wasnt as good as Masters.
They said they could match Myer so $519.20 and that was it no 10% or 120%.
The guy said that they couldnt go lower than Myer, they can just sell it to me for the same price.
He said that they are currently running a better deal where you get 50% a stick if you buy a animal barrel Dyson vacuum, but I've already got an upright so only looking for the stick. Plus those are around $800-1000 so your total bill is looking at about $1100-1300!

Forgot to say MASSIVE THANKS TO THE OP (:

  • +3

I noticed that Masters prices are now identical to the 10% beaten price

  • All over guys. You must have hammered Masters to have made them lower their prices.

Maybe try using the 15% off coupon and see whether you get lucky. Better chance of using it now that there is no more price matching, so it is not being used in conjunction with any other offer.

You can still get 5% off the Master's price if you use discounted wish cards.

Maybe go and price match at TGG if you are eligible for the $50 AMEX cash back

    • +1

I tried using the 15% voucher online but it would not accept it. So I opened a live chat session. Unfortunately you cannot use the 15% on "appliances", which the Dyson was classified as. So I opened a new account for the 5% off. Saved an extra $32 on the DC54 Allergy.

      • This coupon never worked for Dysons online where as the previous one did. You might have a better chance using it in store.

        • I'm going to get the other half to stop by on his way home and see if he can. :)

        • Smart idea signing up as a new customer and getting 5% off.

  • +1

Got the DC59 (Non Animal) from Masters this morning in Joondalup, also used Wish Cards so get it for around $410, great price. No problems there at all at the time but they seem to be out of stock there now.

  • masters cut down the prices!!!

    DC 59A is $467 now

match the price everywhere you like

in TGG get extra $50 back pay by AMEX

  • looks to me like the masters price of the dc59 is equal to the myers price minus the 10% as well ($431 & $467 animal). saves haggling.

edit: just signed up and with the 5% discount, bought the dc59 animal for $444.

    • That's nuts on their part. All they need to do is reduce the price to $1 below Myer's price and then they don't have to honour the extra 10%. Either they're really keen to sell a heap of vacuums to OzBargainers or someone hasn't quite thought it all the way through.

      • shhh..

      • I agree YTW. They only need to avoid losing $50 on 1,000 items and they've covered the wage of a junior in head office whose only responsibility is to trawl the internet (or let's face it; ozbargain.com.au) for better prices and adjust accordingly. But like Knackers says: "Shhh" :-)

Whilst I was getting my Dyson Vac, there was a couple there getting 10% off a $1600 Fridge based on TGG price. The staff at Masters were all "No Worries", quick check and you're good to go. The exact opposite to the s**t-fight I got at Bunnings on a $30 item. I guess it works though, as I've spent a good $2500 at Masters on timber, tools, 'fixins', pavers and other odds and ends over the last 6 months, against the $20-$30 I've spent at Bunnings on nails and screws. Bunnings wouldn't know customer service if it kicked them square in the nuts and bolts department.

        • they did this for us, so we now shop more at local Masters store! ;-)

    DYSON DC59 Animal Cordless @ $411.60

Last one sold at a discount due to open box. Might be useful to someone if they want to try and price match it..

  • +1

Ummm…isn't it a bit premature to mark this as expired when there is still stock available at the reduced price?

Would be a shame for other people to miss out because they skipped over an expired deal.

  • Anyone got a price match with TGG?

  • Is anyone able to tell me what the difference is between the dc59 and dc59 animal? I don't have pets, but do have long hair! Which one is better to get?

  • Dc59 is now $509 on both sites. How do I get $467 price?

  • Ahh got it now.. $431 for dc59

As an extra kicker, I might take overseas with me tonight to claim TRS which is extra 10%

    • hi - can you pls advise how you got the prices to change? I'm seeing 509 as well
      cheers

  • Everyone seems to be getting the Handstick/Cordless versions, are the barrel vacuums no good? Eyeing the DC54 allergy, haven't gotten around to reading and comparing reviews yet.

    • Ive had & tried the dyson barrel, upright & handstick. Honestly, if you're relatively clean, I'd go for the stick, a LOT more convenient.
The barrel is really good as well, it's just plugging it in, and a little bulkier to use. Suction & power I've found is far better than your average vacuum (but then again, so is the price tag!)
If you've got a bigger house & do a big vac every week or so, I'd go for a barrel, but if you're like me & do spot vac every day or so, the handstick is SUPER CONVENIENT & I dont have the excuse of being too lazy to get the vacuum out & plugging it in & yada yada..

Just a heads up, I managed to get the 15% fuel discount on the reduced price in store. I didn't even have a voucher but the kind lady just rang it through on an old docket she had behind the counter.

    • Bargain. So which dyson did you buy and how much did you pay?

      • I think it was around $397. I thought it was a good deal until I saw the post below!

  • bought the last 2 DC59 animal from Masters for $377 each, bossssssss, thanks so much for the OP

    • $377? That's historical low!

      • +2

yeh, he d give me the 15% fuel voucher plus the 5% new rego. , now up for the free gift, best bargain

    • MAN, that's ridiculous! I bought 2x Animals for $467ea & I thought it was a good deal.
      Kudos to iceagepig!

  • Awesome. Thanks OP. On my way to Masters st Mary's after click n collect with 5% extra new rego discount. DC54 animal for $683.32! Great buy!

  • Did the price just go up for the DC59? Can't get the cheaper price anymore at Masters!

  • the prices are back up now? DC59 is now $509…. does anyone know how i can still get the $431 price?

    Thanks

  • all gone, both myer and masters have a price $551, no deal any more

  • Got an order in for DC59A last night at $443 inc 5% registration discount for click & collect. Was advised this morning that all Melbourne stores are out of stock and will have to wait till next week for new stock to arrive. Looks like I won't be getting my vacuum till the end of next week at the earliest.

    • good luck, best deal ever excluding price error

  • +1

Just picked one up at TGG dc59 animal for $465 (matched masters )plus $50 cash back from amex

    • +1

i split my payment in two… $250 on my Amex and the rest on my ING… which brings it to $404 :)

  • Masters have put their on-line prices back up again.

  • for the DC59 - next best thing is to price beat the current 2nds world price of $499 with masters. brings it to $449. has to be bought in store or over the phone. worked for me

  • great deal op! had added in the cart last night but somehow I resisted this finalising the purchase. Already have the barrel one , handheld is far more convenient but wifey said..not required!

  • I wanted to get the 15% off Masters coupon from Caltex and went to Woolworths Caltex to fill up the tank last night. The guy in the store said they no longer issue the 15% coupon. As I know the coupon is valid till this Sunday 27th. Do you know any place to still get this coupon?

    • btw I am not after Dyson.. want to buy a garden shed ($299 + 169 + 59) Even though the total comes to 527 the discount will only be applied for the cheapest item. So I will just use it for $299 part.

      • Hey unity1, can you use the same coupon multiple times? I thought the user who posted this image had already used this code and I can't use the same. Please let me know?

        • It's a generic coupon. Everyone that has this coupon has the same barcode.

  • Darn, seem to have missed out… Does anyone reckon stores would price match if I showed someone's receipt at the discounted price? I'm after a DC59 or DC59 animal and live in Brisbane…if so, is anyone willing to send me a copy of a receipt? Cheers.

  • +1

    Great Deal! Thanks unity1!

I was going to wait until this morning to go to Masters to buy one, and then changed my mind and bought it through Click and Collect last night. Got an SMS this morning that it was ready and then picked it up! Bought the DC54 Animal for $683.31 (including the 5% Click and Collect discount). Very happy. When I got there a guy was trying to buy the same item but the price had gone back up to $849! The sales guy was going to give it to him for the same price as me though. Lucky I was there to help him out.

    Thanks again!

    • Good work. You got the deal and helped some one else too.

  • hmm so this brings the DC54 Animal down to $721 (from $849) with the 15% discount coupon from Woolies Petrol.

If only I stocked up on Wishgift cards in time to get another 5% off.

  • Went to good guys to buy the dc35 stock in myers adelaide tried to price match their price of $340. Asked their manager who said the lowest they would go is to match harvey norman of $381. I said no thank you and left. My parents went in looking for a tv after I told them about the $50 cash back with american express. They found the one they wanted then went to check out and they first said they wouldn't accept american express then my dad kicked up a bit and then they said they will charge a surcharge fee of 3%. Did anyone else experience this???

  • Managed to get a DC59 (standard, not animal one) for $448.20 after getting best price guarantee after price match with ApplianceCentral for $498 (which has free shipping to my area). Total came to $448.20, so pretty happy, even though it's not quite as good as the original deal! Tried my luck with the extra 5% new customer discount but couldn't swing it….

Got the bonus mothers day tool kit - one of the boxes makes a pretty good tray/holder with some basic modifications.

Here's a pic of the empty tray.

And another that shows all the bits on it.
