    This was a pure scam. Like I said in an earlier comment. Put a good phone for $200 and have so many people sign up for ebay plus to try get this deal. Even though chances were so slim anyway.

    Dont think people would have actually thought ebay would screw people legitimately by cancelling their payment - paypal and credit card.

    Honestly everyone involved should be ashamed. Ozbargain poster, ebay, paypal, sydney mobiles. What a disgrace!

    Thats bullshit: 10:04am all out of stock, refresh after 5 minutes, grey in stock but the code didn't work. This one was on sale for about $350 since last week so the total sale you saw included all sale long time ago, not the amount of $200 deal.

        No .. I believe I had the option to got free postage but the saw the dates and I was certain it was weeks faster with paid postage so I opted to pay… I wish i didn't pay for the postage.

      First order got stuck on "processing" so ordered another, the first was cancelled the second went through. Not sure if it's actually worthwhile with a January delivery time for me though. "Same Business Day Dispatch" on the listing is deceptive if that's actually going to be the case.

    Ebay should honour these. There was nothing wrong with my payment. Their website is broken.
    I did the right thing and only ordered 1. Now I regret not buying as many as possible in the hope of getting at least one.

        Nothing to do with overselling. It was never a legitimate deal in the first place. Only to get people to sign up for ebay plus. I paid for it and had the confirmation screen within 10 seconds of the code appearing. Would have been in the first few people to buy it. Cancelled payment after saying it was successful like all the others. Everyone got duped. It was a phantom deal to gain members thats all. They shoud be fined. Sydney mobiles, ebay and ozbargain poster if not others on this site would have all been in on the scam

      I was prepared for the slim chance of getting one and to probably be fairly beaten to the punch by the hordes. Instead many of us had our orders confirmed before being cancelled due to payments not going through? Dodgy as.

      Also not to mention the people who are actually out of pocket for signing up for Ebay Plus to qualify for this deal in the first place.

    Had it in card and ordered within a few seconds when the deal started using existing gift cards in my ebay account. First got the order received and then payment failed and This order was not successful BS. Guess I won't be renewing my ebay plus!

    This post had 700+ upvotes, the eBay listing said 1500+ had it in carts and stopped updating the number.

    Popular deals selling out with a lot of failures is not a scam. Yeah you clicked at exactly 10:00:00001, so did 1000 other people.
