CG-NAT works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you turn off CG-NAT you will be able to use remote access and host online P2P games again. Leave CG-NAT turned on if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

You can get Carrier Grade NAT turned off for free if needed. Call up Superloop support or use the Superloop online chat on the Superloop website (red and black icon, bottom right).

$5/month is for a static IP address.

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT)
Where CGNAT is available, your IP address will default to using CGNAT, unless you specifically request to opt out of CGNAT, which may be approved by Superloop in its discretion. When opting out of CGNAT, a dynamic public IP address will be assigned to the service, however, you may request a static public IP address (at additional cost).

Static IP
A single Static IP address is available upon request for the additional monthly fee on all residential Superloop nbn plans.
Static IP $5 (inc. GST)

Cancelling Your Plan
You can cancel your Superloop nbn Home Broadband Service at any time by giving Superloop 30 days' notice.

Credit Card Surcharge
Services that are paid by Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) incur a 1.0% transaction fee. You can pay by Direct Debit from your bank to avoid these fees.

  • Could I sign up to this today but for an activation for 30 days time and still get the deal pricing?

With Exetel at the moment, so need to give them their 30 days notice.

    • They can do a connection date of pus 30 days of sign up.

  • I gather this doesn't apply to Opticomm customers? Code doesn't work.

  • I just signed up for superloop via econnex/.cashrewards- does anyone know how long will the connection take? I have not received any information so far.

    • +1

      took about 6 hours

  • Recently signed up there seems to be issue with internet drop regularly. Not sure if this was smart idea

  • When churning can people confirm if the service resumes on the same NTD port or does it reset to 1 (For people you are on a different port than port 1). I am currently on port 3 I think and I am fairly certain my port 1 has an issue. I am happy to only churn if the service resumes on the same NTD port. Otherwise, I would rather get a new connection (which will be on port 1 I think) and there are two options:

1 - Keep the service on port 1 and get NBN to come and fix (replace) the NTD and then go back and cancel with my current provider (Mate).
2 - Call Superloop and get them to send another request to NBN for provisioning (while keeping their service on port 1) and this new service will go on port 2 and then get them to cancel their service on port 1 and also go back to my current provider and get them cancel their service on port 3.

    • I'm on FTTP and service was provisioned on the same port as my previous ISP. Not sure if you'll get the same experience though.

    • I went from Leaptel to Superloop and it stayed on port 4 for me.

      • Thanks and just to confirm your ports 1, 2 and 3 were free (i.e no active service on them) right?
When I first joined Mate which was many years ago they advised me that when NBN provisions a service it always start from 1 and looks for free ports. Maybe with the churning process that is no longer the case and it goes straight to the previous port being used.

        • Correct, port 1-3 was free.

        • Superloop takes over the same port that Mate is using. Some other providers automatically put their nbn service on a new port or let you choose a port. When a provider gets put on a new port you have to cancel the previous provider.

          • @Twix: Is there anyway to request Superloop to provision on a new port, e.g. when you want to keep the current connection with the current ISP and just wanna have a backup connection?

            • +1

@GreenRomeo: I don't know if Superloop will do it. You'd have to call and ask.

            • @GreenRomeo: Did you do this? I want to do the same thing.

  • +2

Signed up, moved over from existing ISP and connected yesterday. Easy process, getting the speeds i'm paying for. No issues here.

  • If I downgrade to a lower speed do I lose the discount/cashback?

    • +1

      • Lol that's so messed up

      • That's a shame. I was thinking of downgrading to the 250 plan from 1000…

  • still waiting to be activated…. been 4 hours since my Leaptel FTTP connection dropped. anyone stuck on "Expected activation date: To be advised" ?

    • +1

after 3 calls, finally got someone to look at it properly. the order was stuck in their system and needed manual intervention… online now

  • Anyone else get:

"Sorry we are unable to verify the credit card you have provided. Please try with a different card or contact us on 1800 57 87 37"

Using this very standard bank issued credit card everywhere for years including present and past ISP's plenty of funds available etc.

    First time encountered this ever.

Tried a couple of times with same result different days.

No use going through phone signup as would not be able to get cashback.

  • -2

looks like offer changed! 6 months and price also increased any better option

    • +2

Nah still there mate. That caught me out too. Just enter BLACK-FRIDAY code on checkout

    • +2

That's only if you don't input the BLACK-FRIDAY code

  • -1

    oh thanks

  • Can I return the "free" Aero modem if i decide to change after 12 months so there is fee?

i've also never having changed providers before - does one have to contact their current ISP to terminate the existing contract - I'm way past my 24 month contract with my current mob but unsure of the process.

    Thanks

    • You shouldn’t have to contact the existing provider. I was with More switched on Thursday night superloop was up in a few hours. received confirmation of cancellation with More today and mentioned final bill coming soon so maybe if you don’t hear updates after a week contact them directly

      • Cheers mate. The only thing is I'll be hoping to upgrade to FTTP… But yeah thanks for the advice

    • +1
      1. Signup to the new nbn provider.
      2. Your old nbn provider should email you saying it's been cancelled.
      3. Call the old nbn provider if you don't receive a cancellation email.

You would pay $84 extra for the eero 6+ router if you leave after 12 months.

A FREE* eero 6+ ($20 shipping) including eero Secure, is available to all Superloop residential nbn customers. You can only get one free* router per service, and must be connected via FTTP, FTTC, or HFC technology. To qualify your service must remain active for 24-months, however, if you cancel your service before your 24-months is up you’ll be charged a one-off clawback fee of $7/mth (inc. GST) based on the number of months remaining. So, if you cancel 6-months into your 24-month commitment the amount owed will be based off the remaining 18-months. Check out our Terms & Conditions here

Sweet mate..didn't see the t and cs that's great to know thanks

  • live chat turned off cg nat for me in about 2 minutes - very happy so far.

    • What did you say to get it disabled if you don't mind me asking?

      • Self hosted cameras

        • Alright, cool. Any idea if a smart DNS service would be a reason I could ask to disable it?

          • @Ice009: Don't see why not

            • @blues99: Alright cool. I've signed up, but chose an activation date a couple of weeks later. I do actually need it turned off for my Smart DNS service, but if that doesn't work, I guess I will just saying something like what you did.

Which option do you pick for the chat? I assume click on the Technical Support chat option?

      • What did you say to get it disabled if you don't mind me asking?

When I called, I just said I wanted it turned off and they turned it off

        • When I called, I just said I wanted it turned off and they turned it off

Cool, thanks. So you didn't even have to give them a reason at all?

          • @Ice009: I just used the online chat and said can't view my cameras remotely

            • @Whatisthatvelvet: Thanks. I couldn't seem to get past the chat bot as I've rather try via chat first. Did you do anything to talk to a live person specifically?

              • @Ice009: I think I just typed in "speak to agent" or similar.
Yeah I only got chatbot too while typing in anything about CGNAT.

          • @Ice009: Yeah he didn't ask me why at all, but you can just say you cant view cameras/hosting games/files & backups for family etc

I couldn't get past the chat AI bot for some reason, so I just called. 10min wait but then 2min chat and I was sorted after my connection was rebooted.

            • @aragornelessar: Thanks guys. I will take all your suggestions on board. I chose to activate mine in a few weeks, so I will try after my service is activated.

I also couldn't get past the chat AI bot. Not sure if there is a specific way to do it. I just went to ask some questions before signing up, but ended up giving up as I couldn't talk to a live person. I rang instead and got the service done on the phone. I think the wait time was about 10 minutes too.

I wouldn't mind knowing how you guys got past that chat bot.

            • @aragornelessar: Quick question, how do you know CGNAT is turned off? I've had a static IP for the past 6 years with my current RSP as it came free.
I haven't used anything else for a long, long time, so I am not sure how to tell between CGNAT and not having it on.

  • I'm currently on super loop. Is it possible I cancel and sign up with my wife's abn?

    Same address.

  • Anyone transferred on a Sunday? Ordered Sat night and not sure how long will it go.

  • Does anyone know how to pay their bill via paypal? I received my invoice via email and in the email it said the following:

"Your Superloop bill is attached. The amount due will be paid via your nominated paypal account or credit card on 16 Dec 2024."

  • Going from 100 down to 250 down and paying less. Bargain!

Given they need to now upgrade to FTTP anyone have any idea how that works? Currently the line they put in for FTTC is above ground (roof to utility pole). Does that suggest they will run the FTTC connection the same way or could it be underground?

    • +2

FTTP can be installed either way. Ask the installer what their plans are. nbn FTTP guide.

  • Anyone not getting the internet speeds Superloop promises?
Its 10am and im only getting 60/20 instead of 100/20…

    • My average (Speedtracker) download speed is 921.8Mbps, upload 47.2Mbps (over last 48 hours)
Highest speed down 942.1Mbps, Up 48.1
Slowest 776.2Mbps (that was just a single dip at 1am last night) and 45.8 Mbps up.
I am very happy with the service so far.

  • Will this work with cash rewards 65$ back ?

  • what is best cashback to stack with this?

  • Is tangerine 100/20 plan compared to this not cheaper for $60.90 per month ?

    • +1

Sure is. But the discount only applies for 6 months.

      • Can a connection be requested on Saturday's date and get connected ?

        • Requested Saturday night and tracked right away by topcashback, still waiting this Mon night to get ported though.

        • +1

I requested mine be activated on a Saturday and it was done.

          • @Heybargain: Did you call? Or chat?

            • @boq: When I put the order in I selected the date of activation being a Saturday

  • +1

Signed up to 250/20 around 11 last night, and was ported from ABB after 20mins. Router says it was disconnected for about 10mins and then back online as Superloop.
Speedtest this morning shows 265/23. Tried getting CG-NAT turned off via Livechat but the chatbot wouldn't put me through to a human, called and took about 10mins to get in, but the guy sorted it in 5mins.

    Eastern Creek POI on HFC.

  • Awesome, just churned off Exetel to this - took about 30 mins for the transition to finalise. Also got a pro-rata refund for the unused period remaining.

  • -1

Quick churn-over, speed is on par with what we were getting with Aussie BB.

  • Sorry ABB, youve been great but its time to move (and Im a shareholder too!). SL deal was too hard to resist.

  • What’s Superloop’s reliability and customer service like?

    • Too early to say as they have just opened up a whole heap of new offices around Australia. The Origin Broadband acquisition, however, is going to be absolute hell for their customer service representatives.

  • Finally moved to superloop. Applied Saturday night and got activate just after midnight last night. Was with Telstra for years on a Trial Plan $65 and got an email recently that they are finishing the trial and will be bump to $105 on January. Anyone who also moved from Telstra? I'm still seeing the service as active from the app. Did you call to cancel?

    • If it's not automatically cancelled, you'll have to call them.

    • Was paying $110 for telstra 100 download now 1000 dowload for $89

  • Just churned from Internode 250

    Deco M5
Deco app speed test showing 570/45
    Speedtest app test showing 150/45

    Any tips?

    • Whats the speed on the router connected to the NTD?

      • 570/45 as per above. i may try and plug ethernet cable directly into NTD and see what speed I get

        • Yeah do that.

Deco M5 is capable of about 900Mbps wired ethernet and up to 450-500Mbps with Wi-Fi 5. Check that your Wi-Fi device is using 5GHz. Not all devices are capable of Gigabit speeds.

  • Got disconnected from Kogan and signed up an hour ago. No any update so far. Is it normal?

Cashback is already tracked but the bank hasn't got charged lol

    • Update: Got connected at around 11am (after giving a call, maybe not related), got 988/51 using Google Nest Pro test tool (wired connected to an old router from Kogan). Happy! :)

Will test other devices and see.

PS: Still no charge on my bank yet…

  • I placed order to be connected to a later date, but they connected me straight away….and disconnected my existing service!!
On the phone right now to get this fixed!
First agent I spoke to said, they will cancel my superloop service and then I need to contact my current provider to reconnect me! Which I refused to do as this is not my fault…to do all this run-about!!!
Asked to talk to their superior and am now on hold!
    Good start! /s

  • Anyone successfully signed up for a later activation date and was done correctly?

    • Well mine didn't go as planned! See my post above.
Currently on phone with Superloop to sort it out!

      • Yeah I noticed a few got activated straight away but just checking if anyone had no issue with scheduled activation

        • Funny thing is…on the final stage of the order form…there is no mention of activation date..either right away or delayed so I have no proof that I requested a delayed activation! Now they want to talk to their 'team' to find out if the mistake is actually on their end!
Aaaaand they hung up as I'm typing this!!! That's 1 hour wasted!!

          • @alterego13: There is.. go through the checkout process and you'll see it defaults to activate ASAP. You'll need to pick a date if you wanted another day for activation.

            • @Heybargain: That's the thing! I already entered it once and pressed checkout. Why do i need to do it again? It's a fault in their systems.

              • @alterego13: Did you pick the date to be activated on first sign up?

              • @alterego13: Did you pick the date when you first put the order in? I had no issues picking a future date of activation. Was activated on the date as requested.

                • @Heybargain: Yes, I did. Double - triple checked!

                  • @alterego13: Anyway, I'm not going to jump through the hoops again calling up my previous provider to re-activate the service. I'll keep superloop and move on. Wasted half my productive day already!

                    • @alterego13: Yeah, who are you with before? I was with Telstra with 19 days left, requested for prorata refund and they agreed. I actually waited 3 days for superloop even though I ticked to transfer right away. It transferred when I got the eero.

                      • @boq: Kogan.
I'll try to ring them and see what happens but I'm not holding my breath.

                        • +1

@alterego13: Won't hurt to try. Or maybe ask superloop for credit given they stuffed up. Reconnecting back and cancelling then signing up again is a major disaster.

                          • @boq: Will try ringing Kogan.

Already tried with Superloop and they wanted to investigate with their web-development team. I'd had enough by that time so I said never-mind and politely hung up.

But if no luck with Kogan, I might try to push Superloop if I have an hour or so to kill (which is highly unlikely).

                        • +1

@alterego13: Didn't pay my last bill for Kogan (~$50 worths). Got disconnected and joint Superloop. I did call Kogan to ask for the price and they said nothing much they could do except the price would increase. The next day all the prices were increased lol. Good while it lasted. Kogan never increased my price for the last 5 years. Unfortunately, things need change.

                          • @bcYield: I have a direct debit setup from my CC for Kogan so not sure how will I not pay the bill.
                            Direct debit will happen tomorrow.

                            • +1

@alterego13: My account was low and the transaction wasn't going through. I topped up the next day but still failed the next transaction. Since I meant to churn anyways, I didn't bother to contact them about that. I called superloop and they said nothing else I needed to do. So, I signed up. Good for me :)

Possibly I owe Kogan that bill plus another $25 reconnection fee if I ask them to reconnect. It won't happen anytime soon at least another year.

  • i just signed up to the 1000mbps deal from telstra 100mbps.. i have the smart modem gen 2 from telstra and it was a quick process signing up.

however i'm only receiving speeds at 150mbps on my pc and 430 on my iphone?

is there a fix to this? i did call superloop and they told me i need to test the line through ethernet cable
