CG-NAT works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you turn off CG-NAT you will be able to use remote access and host online P2P games again. Leave CG-NAT turned on if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

You can get Carrier Grade NAT turned off for free if needed. Call up Superloop support or use the Superloop online chat on the Superloop website (red and black icon, bottom right).

$5/month is for a static IP address.

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT)
Where CGNAT is available, your IP address will default to using CGNAT, unless you specifically request to opt out of CGNAT, which may be approved by Superloop in its discretion. When opting out of CGNAT, a dynamic public IP address will be assigned to the service, however, you may request a static public IP address (at additional cost).

Static IP
A single Static IP address is available upon request for the additional monthly fee on all residential Superloop nbn plans.
Static IP $5 (inc. GST)

Cancelling Your Plan
You can cancel your Superloop nbn Home Broadband Service at any time by giving Superloop 30 days' notice.

Credit Card Surcharge
Services that are paid by Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) incur a 1.0% transaction fee. You can pay by Direct Debit from your bank to avoid these fees.

    • How is the DoDo speed during peak hours?

  • +2

Churned from Leaptel. Leaptel has been disconnected but no new connection lol. Now on hold…time to put the support to the test.

    Low key regrets already.

Update: 22 minutes to get through which wasn't too bad. Anyway, apparently a wide spread issue affecting churns at the moment that they are trying to resolve. Was quoted up to 24 hours for a resolution! What a start! Hopefully comes on over night…off to read a book.

    • should disconnect when you got superloop up and running

      • I didn't disconnect, just done automatically.

    • All working now. Not an ideal churn (3 hours+ given the issue) but could be worse.

    • I churned from Leaptel as well and activated my connection at 5pm but could not get IP address on router or pc. Tried resetting everything and leaving stuff off etc. Nothing worked.

Gave them a call at 9pm and had to wait 30mins. Finally got through and they told me they are experiencing a lot of issues on their end with new customers with no eta.

Half an hour later at 10pm my modem light went from red to green and it was all good. Could have gone smoother but good enough. I'm happy with the price and speed.

  • Has anyone had the issue signing up online it says address not valid? Ive cancelled my current Superloop and attempting to sign up in wifes name, but it wont accept address when attempting checkout?

    • I was going to try this too. I guess I'll have to go elsewhere for a while.

    • Have you got it to work? I was thinking of giving my notice today and then resigning up when my next billing period ends..

      • No it isnt working, i will online chat with them tomorrow and see how i go

        • I was able to get it to accept address, cancelled current account and signed up in partners name.

Now she has been asked an odd queation about transferring accounts:

Thank you for your request to transfer ownership of your service.

To proceed with and approve this ownership transfer, we kindly request that you provide us with a Proof of Document (POD) that includes your name and >address. This document is necessary to validate the transfer.

You may submit the POD by replying to this email with the attachment.

Acceptable documents for a POD include:
-A utility bill (water, electricity, gas)
          -A signed lease agreement
-A certificate of title of the land
          -An insurance document

          Thank you.

  • Spoke to rep, been using them for months , couldn't go down to 89, even after pushing the rep said I can go cancel if you don't want to go forward with the 99 deal. Surprised how hard they drew the line there .

  • I left superloop 18months ago, would i be considered as a New customer now?
not able to find anything specific on theit T&C, same address and name?

    • I left superloop 6 months ago- but was forced to go to superloop after myrepublic is gone, just signed up anyway-order confirmed- so i guess its Ok. just hope topcashback consider this as new customer.

  • Went from Leaptel to Superloop. Speeds went down from 900+ Mbps to 150Mbps. Tried restarting router but that did nothing. Yikes

    • Wow what plan were you on? So it's not your device but the service are you sure??

      • Same 1000 plan for both.

        • +1

Right ok I will keep Leaptel for now

    • Try testing using 5Ghz wifi, or Ethernet if possible.
      150Mbps seems like 2.4ghz limitation.

FYI I was also on Leaptel 1000 plan and now on Superloop getting essentially the same speed.

      • +1

Tried that. I complained to Superloop and they did something to fix it on their end. Now getting better speeds than leaptel

  • Signup for churn 30 days from today. Would that affect the TCB cashback tracking ? Anyone else who did the same had theirs track yet ? Thanks!

  • Lots of people churning from Leaptel. Doesn't Leaptel have a 30 days cancellation notice policy?

    • Nope. I think I read somewhere that maybe they do in the first month only though

    • They don't. I confirmed this with them as I was asking for a discount. They only say try to cancel with them near the end of the billing mth.

  • just submitted application via cashrewards, currently reamed by ABB for $95/mth for 100/20 so will try out superloop for the 12 months discounted then re-evaluate

  • Signed up for 250/25 yesterday , 2 hours later I was connected and did numerous speed tests last night during peak time and it was a consistent 272/24 , so far happy with the service , FTTP

  • Churned over from AussieBB 1000/50 to same plan in the early morning, took about hour, straight swapped. Speeds are real good! topcashback has not come through yet though.

  • What's everyone's thoughts on service quality and support vs leaptel? Currently on the 100mb for 79.99 p/m and contemplating moving to the 250mb plan for a comparable price.

    • +3

I left superloop for because of their asinine customer service, have been extremely extremely impressed with leaptel customer service. My introductory price has since expired but I wouldn't go back to superloop for any amount of money

      • Thanks. Seems to be a consistent view. Think ill stay with leaptel.

    • Leaptel service and support is a tier above.

I left superloop due to inconsistent performance.

But now superloop is cheaper enough in curious. But I just need to remind myself it's not worth it with all the drop outs lol.

    • You could always switch across to the 250mb for a month or two to test, then go back to Leaptel if you're not happy with them?

  • Disappissedoffnpointed that I called them and hour ago to discuss, saying 100/20 at $89 was too much when there's so many other offers at the moment (I hadn't seen this until now!) and the best they offered was a free modem and to lock in $89 for the next 12 months… Not even a word of a discount, so he went ahead and processes my cancellation… 0.1% retention attempt.

  • I have FTTB and would choose the fastest (100/40 would be the fastest?)
From the comments Superloop seem to have many outage?

If so, which ISP do people recommend?
    Thanks.

  • Awesome, thank you
cancelled my mate churn that still had three months to go but this was totally worth it

  • god damn I just joined less than a week ago.

  • +1

Churned over today, didnt even have to reboot router and old ISP cancelling without having to call them
Will see how it goes but $26 p/mth saving vs ABB is certainly nice

  • Is anyone hitting the advertised speeds? Rebooted router and everything but speedtest is only hitting 500, half of what is advertised.
    Can anyone provide any help?

    • +1

      Test using ethernet

    • -2

for wifi6, that's correct. wifi 7 should give you 700-900. ethernet should get you 800-900

    • What router? 1000mbps is a lot, it helps having a good router, i have an Asus GT-AX6000 and hit high 900's on ethernet

I just did an ookla speedtest on wifi in my Samsung S22 ultra and hit 932.22mbps Download

Edit- what device are you doing the speedtest on also? That can limit speed

      • I'm also only hitting around 450 on Ookla, using Superloop's preconfigured eero 6+, which should be very capable. This is on my Pixel 9 Fold Pro, sitting next to the router, not downloading anything.

I was always consistently getting at least 80% of the plan speed using the same test for as long as I've had NBN and even ADSL.

        • -2

          Try disabling cgnat

          • +2

@BuyOrNot: CG-NAT has nothing to do with slower Wi-Fi speeds.

        • Mystery solved. Getting 780-880 (the lower figure is via Netflix's Fast test) after switching off always-on Google VPN on on my Pixel. Should have thought of that earlier. Interestingly, only hitting 150 on NordVPN (Australian location).

      • i have ASUS AX1800, and only getting 300mb max

do i need to get a AX3000 or AX6000 router to see max speeds? AX1800 should be able to do 1200mb on 5ghz and 600 on 2.4ghz

  • Can you do both referral and promo code for this? But I'm guessing that referral will invalidate TCB?

    • yes,for 1st question. don't know for the 2nd.

      • Stacks

        • As in I can do referral and promo code AND cashback? Lol. I asked tightarse and he couldn't confirm the referral one

  • Signed up with TCB tracked.

  • +2

Switched to these guys yesterday thinking its a good deal. I have had nothing but trouble since. I’m on 1000/20 coming from 250/20.

Connections been riddled with intermittent timeouts, not sure if its my old model that can’t handle the speed or something else.

    • Yeah I had lots of this when I was last with superloop so switched to leaptel.

Since then I bought a gaming router / modem though.

      Which modem you have?

  • +1

I signed up last night, and already today I've gotten my first random disconnections. Support said it was "HFC connectivity issues" and told me to reset the NBN box and wait 24 hours. Did not have any issues like this on Kogan Internet before switching. Victoria, Hawthorn area.

    • +1

Mate that sounds like too many people jump on this and congestion is happening

    • Yes, we have the same issue at Brisbane and they also inform me to reset the NBN box as well. No such issue with previous company. If this continue to happen next few days. I may have to make a switch and cancel their service.

    • Am in Hawthorn as well, NBN granted. Had no issues with them, did need to reset my Modem but after, perfectly fine.

I assume hasn't been too bad since no followups though.

  • +1

how do you guys deal with the 30 days notice period if you see another nice offer from other nbn?

    • +1

Easy. Notify current provider asap. Then schedule churn day/connection date, in the future 30th day with one day overlapping current provider

Most provider can schedule connection date

  • +3

Signed up on 18th Nov on a 1000/50 plan and moved to a different provider today (i.e. Nov 21) after 2 days of solid trouble.

Upload speed was between 0.5 - 5 MBPS (and download about 500-700 MBPS). Couldn't work from home for the last 2 days due to the slow upload which resulted in soft phone not working. Spoke to the Superloop team few times, they were really nice but couldn't solve the issue.

I was with Aussie Broadband until 17th Nov and I had constant upload of 40-45 MBPS and download 650-850 MBPS. Cannot recommend Superloop after this saga.

    • Did you cg nat enabled?

  • +4

i was with superloop ac ouple months ago.. stayed with them for 4 months or so on 100/20 plan.. had constant droppouts and speed issues. never again.
    Might try the optus deal

  • In regards to their 30 day cancellation notice, can you give them the notice and not cancel after 30 days?

My theory is you give them notice, say after 6 months being connected with them, and then you can churn after the 30 days ofcourse. Or if there isn't a better deal anywhere wait for the next billing month (60 days) etc.

Or do they just terminate your connection after the original 30 day notice?

    • +1

      They terminate after 30 days.

    • Try this:

      Good afternoon Billing team,

Invoicing and charging for an already cancelled / churned service is in clear violation of my rights protected by Australian Consumer Law, therefore I am not responsible for any further payments or invoices from this point forward.

As Exetel have confirmed below, Exetel is no longer providing my premises with a service, and therefore has no right to bill me for a service that does not exist. As I understand it, the account is paid in full and current as of COB today.

I hereby revoke any authority given to Extel prior to this email, to bill any of my accounts on file. If any attempt is made to do so, I will be raising a case with the TIO to explore my options to remedy this issue.

As Exetel is well aware, this policy is contrary to Australian Consumer Law, and is actively deterred by the TIO and ACCC. I would suggest Exetel review their policy in this instance.

I'd like to thank Exetel for the service I've received so far, and hope we can part ways as customer and service provider on good terms.

      • I should add, I churned on the second last day of the billing period, and that month's bill had been paid in full.

  • +1

I churned my FTTP service from Leaptel to Superloop at 11:40PM last night and the service was active within 40 minutes. The whole process was painless. For those wanting to disable CGNAT, save yourself the frustration of trying to deal with the AI chat bot (which is one of the worst that I've dealt with, since it can't confirm your customer details with the mobile authentication token and then has an infinite loop of referring you to the live chat feature, i.e., itself) and simply give them a call. I spent a fraction of the time talking to a technical support representative as compared to the AI chat bot. The download speeds have decreased substantially (~750-800Mbps with Superloop compared to ~900-950Mbps with Leaptel, as tested via the SpeedTest CLI using 1GbE) even though the utilisation of the Dubbo POI is quite low. There may be other factors at play, so I'll keep testing periodically. Ultimately, it's likely not going to be discernible with real-world usage.

    • Still getting lower download speeds, did you try testing at some other times?

  • New to NBN - we just got Deco X20 as in a weirdly designed townhouse so followed SL's instructions for BYO router (says to only connect via IPOE when we only had PPOE as a the closest option) and went in a loop of "unable to connect to internet" for 2+ hours.
After many Deco resets, just left everything as default… and it WORKED!!! But with a dynamic IP connection? Too scared to change anything - do we need a static IP? Is it for safety so we dont get hacked? We use data for netflix, streaming etc and partner does marketing so social media uploads. TIA 😊

  • Do I really need the speed over 100? I find myself only need high speed when downloading a movie and their 5 days speed boost should be enough?

    • +3

Only you can probably answer your question

      • -1

I find myself only need high speed when downloading a movie

I already answered that ;) but someone else might have other use cases to share :)

        • +2

if what you mentioned is already what you need, then why bother. stick with what you need most would save you the most money.

  • F sake, I forgot to provide the referral code to my partner. Is it too late if they already signed?

  • Couldnt get the advertised speeds. Super strong accent so had extreme difficulty talking to off shore customer care. I used to love superloop but finding it difficult to recommend them now. May be getting too big?

  • How does Superloop compare to More? My current Commbank gives me $5 cheaper with More on the 250/25 plan. Should I churn or not?

  • Signed up yesterday, service was active 35 minutes later and ABB confirmed closure at the same time (I didn't have to do anything).

Did a speedtest which was 950/50, happy days.

  • +3

    Begun the Churn Wars have

  • TPG's retention team gave me 1 month free to not jump ship. They made it clear that it was because I was only with them since last week.

I was with Internode on the 250/25 $89.99/m. Which is already on TPG network. But they were migrating me to iiNet for $100/m next bill. I decided to take TPG's Black Friday offer last week for the $94.99 for 3 months. It all happened in about 2hrs and I am getting 940/47 even in peak, with no CGNAT. But like Superloop - your mileage may vary.

This deal dropped, so I filled out their price beat guarantee form - worth a shot right. TPG can't match this Superloop deal, but offered me $5/m discount for 12 months or 1 month free. I've accepted the free month (I can math). Having read the feedback here, I was unsure I wanted to churn to Superloop, so it saves me the hassle.

  • I must have hit the NBN/HFC lottery.
Seeing 1.1 Gbps after churning to Superloop from Exetel.

Great experience so far, was relatively painless (once I got through the call queue) to request opt-out of CG-NAT from support, and just had to reset the NBN HFC box. They did try to upsell to static IP, but I made it clear that was not necessary and CG-NAT opt out was all that's required, and I found it stated online in Superloop terms of service somewhere which helped.

    • Would only be possible if your modem and router both have 2.5 gigabit (or better) capability? Most of us can't pull down more than 950 on the regular white fibre NBN NTD modem. It's a physical limitation of the gigabit hardware, so yeah, that would be a miracle.

  • I just signed up to churn from more and they trying to retain me with the CBA deal of 40% off.. which will be cheaper so I may stick with them.

  • I'm currently with Belong and I'm not familiar with disconnections. Should I contact Belong before joining Superloop? That $89 a month for that amount of speed is AWESOME. I'm currently paying the same price with Belong for 100/20 (Or I think it's 100/40 can't remember). Would love more speed for the same price.

    • Signup to Superloop first. Belong should auto cancel. Give Belong a call if it doesn't.

Do you already have FTTP or HFC?

      • +1

        FTTP.

        • Superloop will takeover the same port Belong is on. You need a capable router and devices to reach Gigabit speeds.

  • wow.. churned from exetel within 30min!

  • Signed up. Could someone point me in the right direction for a cheap gigabit modem? Since my current one is a belong dwa0122 modem so I need to change to another one if I want to fully enjoy the 1000/50 plan. Anything under $100 would be nice.

I'm connected :D wow the process was very smooth and I just checked my Belong account and it's currently in the "Cancelling" stage so Superloop really does cancel your previous ISP. So cool. Also I'm getting great speeds off this Belong modem. Close to 700mbps. For a modem that doesn't support gigabit I'm surprised this Belong modem can give such speed.

    • the one with this deal is free and a good one

      • It's free if you do 24 months. I may be switching after 12 months if another deal comes up.

  • So I had my account cancelled and the end date is 2 days after my next billing date. Will they charge me for the full 30 days or only for the extra 2 days?

  • +1

Thanks Op - signed up - churning away from Aussie BB … sad to go but they wouldn't match the deal….

  • Adding to the list of ABB > Superloop. Sad that ABB dont want to price match, they would be losing a fair number of customers.

  • Another ABB deserter here.

Would it matter if service address between ABB and SL don't match exactly?

On SL their db had the "Lot XX" before street number. Might get on to SL support if thats the case.

Signed up arvo yest churning (HFC) Hasn't gone through yet, ABB still online. Slightly concern as others after churned and connected.

    • Turns out pending activation due to modem delivery (1-2 business days). Have asked them to go ahead now so theyre on to it. Pretty quick to chat to someone and get to bottom of it.
