Na dis has caused pain and suffaring to my family. I am going to complain to the ADDD. My Dad is a lawyer and he will sue Samsung as dis is against the 5th amendment. The person that did this mistake probably took da jab because thats what the jab does to people.

Ah yes, the Attention Deficit Disorder Department.

      • Go off king

  • +5

    No cancellation email.

Can't be hard to send out a mass cancellation email? Why are they dragging this and calling people personally.

    • +3

      Giving it the personal touch.

    • +1

      Leaving no evidence behind :)

  • Haven’t gotten cancellation email, order is still showing as awaiting dispatch. Got a call at 1pm earlier but didn’t answer…

    • +16

Astronomically unlikely, but would be hilarious if those who didn’t answer the calls had their orders honoured. I’m imagining Samsung execs gathered in the boardroom like “mustang87401 didn’t answer our call… we have no choice but to send him the TV!"

      • Agree

      • That's why I liked reading comments.

        • ce5himm what’s with your order? You cancelled yet?

          • @mustang87401: No call, not cancelled yet. But I think I will join many of us soon.

      • Really enjoyed this comment. Good gear

  • +2

No call, no email, no refund. Website still says awaiting dispatch.

    • +1

My guess based on previous ebay deal experience is Samsung will just wait and let people cancel/opt for refund instead of mass cancellation

      • They really are shite

    • +3

Awaiting dispatch of cancellation calls 🫨

    • same

  • No cancellation yet for me.. also got an email from Samsung asking me to give me an opinion about the TV!! lol

  • This makes me really want to get this TV. Hope they put this on sale this week at a reasonable price.

Somebody send this to ACA, script is ready:

[Opening Scene: Dramatic music plays over shots of frustrated customers staring at their empty living rooms, forlornly holding remote controls without TVs. The ACA logo flashes on the screen.]

"A Black Mark on Black Friday: The Samsung Swindle"

Host (in a serious tone): Tonight on A Current Affair: A Black Friday fiasco! The great Samsung swindle that left thousands of bargain hunters feeling robbed on the biggest shopping day of the year.

[Cut to a montage of social media posts and comments flying across the screen, highlighting phrases like "What a deal!", "Price error!", and "Order cancelled!"]

Host (voice-over): It was the Black Friday bargain that had the nation buzzing—a 55-inch Samsung OLED TV for the unbelievable price of $749, down from its usual price of an arm, a leg, and your first-born child.

[Interview with Bob, a would-be customer, sitting on a couch with a blank space where the TV should be.]

Bob (exasperated): I saw the deal online and thought, "Holy smokes, that's cheaper than a night out in Sydney!" So I jumped on it. Didn't even think twice.

Host (nodding sympathetically): But Bob, like thousands of others, was in for a rude shock this Black Friday.

[Cut to a reenactment of Bob checking his emails, his face falling as he reads the cancellation notice.]

Bob: Next thing I know, I get an email saying my order was cancelled due to a "system error." System error? More like a "got your hopes up" error!

[Back to the host in the studio.]

Host: On Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, Samsung says it was all a mistake—a glitch in their system. But consumers aren't buying it. Well, they're trying to, but Samsung won't let them!

[Interview with Karen, another disappointed customer, clutching a stack of printouts.]

Karen (holding up papers): I've got all the receipts, all the confirmations. They took my money and held onto it for days! I was already planning my movie nights. Now I'm stuck with popcorn and no picture!

[Cut to footage of the Samsung store, with "Error 404: Bargain Not Found" superimposed on the storefront.]

Host (voice-over): Social media erupted, with savvy shoppers sharing their frustration on what was supposed to be the best shopping day of the year.

[Display some of the online comments from the bargain post.]

User1: "I didn't really need a 55-inch TV… Pfft, you could've bought a house with more rooms after buying this."
User2: "Samsung ruined Black Friday! How am I supposed to watch the Boxing Day Test now?"
    [Back to the host.]

Host (sardonically): Samsung claims they're "sorry for any inconvenience," but that's cold comfort for those left staring at a blank wall. Maybe they can project their disappointment onto it.

    [Interview with Consumer Rights Advocate.]

Advocate: Companies need to honor their advertised prices, especially on Black Friday when expectations are high. Blaming a "system error" is a cop-out. If only their commitment to customers was as high-definition as their TVs.

[Cut back to Bob, now sitting with a smaller, old-fashioned TV set with rabbit ear antennas.]

Bob (shrugging): Guess I'll stick with old faithful here. At least it doesn't promise the world and then pull the plug.

    [Closing shot of the host.]

Host: So, is this a case of a genuine mistake, or a marketing ploy gone wrong? One thing's for sure: when it comes to Black Friday bargains, if it looks too good to be true, it just might be—especially if it's coming from a glitchy website.

    [Dramatic music swells.]

Host: Coming up after the break: The neighborhood cat that's become an internet sensation—wait till you see what it's doing!

[Fade out with ACA theme music.]

    However, Kitchenaid honoured non-commercial quantities.

Surprisingly I've woken up this morning to a message from ANC saying it's on board for delivery and my order status is now shipped. There's hope for those who haven't been cancelled yet!

    • Nice, this will make those few who made ACCC complaint punching the air harder.

    • +1

Please don't get my hopes up! Better not be trolling.

    • +1

      Need proof, not words.

    • +2

      I am rooting for you!

    • +1

What was your original delivery date? What state you in? I think there remain some of us still hoping!

      • Victoria and original delivery date of today.
Interestingly I've looked again at my orders and the status has changed back to awaiting dispatch - ANC still has it on board for delivery though

        • Fingers crossed for you!

        • The Saga continues

    • Almost made it, one step away. Keep us updated

    • How did ANC contact you, SMS?

    • My experience with Samsung/Anc is that they send you the delivery time window message first before they send a message on board for delivery

  • So I got the call of doom yesterday, as most of us did. However, I managed to stack the coupon they gave me with another to get the S90D for $1580. Good deal or nay?

    • Tbh, nah. But if you need it, pull the trigger now.

    • Could you get an additional $100 off for offloading an old tv? Starts getting tempting at $1480

      • +1

Oddly enough, with the coupons, the trade in discount would have only accounted for like $50 or so - no idea why. I thought it was not worth the hassle.

  • I haven't got a cancellation email or call yet, should I just cancel the order or is it still worth holding out for some hope?

    • +3

Hold. A couple of people are getting shipment notifications and they will give you a voucher if they cancel. No benefit in cancelling yourself.

  • are the coupons just for tvs? im hoping samsungs going to pay me out 5k today for a faulty fridge. would be nice to stack some coupons on a new fridge.

  • Day two. Not cancelled. Not answering phone calls.

  • +41

    It arrived!

Good luck to everyone who hasn't had their order cancelled yet.

    • +6

      WE'RE SO BACK!!!!

    • +2

      Fantastic. Congrats :)

    • There's still hope.

    • Congrats… What time did you order after the deal was posted?

    • +1

Congratulations jangles. Hopefully some others will be successful too.

    • +1

      Whoohoo!

    • +2

      WOOT!!! Congrats

    • +2

Wow, turns out the deal stands. Congrats

    • +2

Very happy for you mate, congratulations 🎉

    • +1

      Congratulation mate.

    • +1

      Good stuff sir. Enjoy!!

    • +2

      The chosen one

    • +7

Assuming you aren’t trolling us with some random image on the internet, grab a lottery ticket mate. One was bound to fall through the cracks. You are the chosen one 🙇‍♂️

    • +2

you win the ozb lottery, give this (wo)man a medal!

    • Do you have trade in by any chance?

      • Based on the 749 pricing, they didn’t have a trade-in

    • Hey can you send the screenshot of the delivery in your order status? I will use it when they say it was pricing error!

      • +1

Will do - it's current status is still 'on the way' but happy to share a screenshot once status changes to delivered.

        • Maybe you're getting another delivered later today?

        • did they send you email updates about your order or just sms for delivery

    • Nice! Congratulations mate!

  • My pending transaction which disappeared off my mastercard is now back but no longer pending. Living in hope. For reference I ordered about 10 minutes after deal was posted whilst there was still 50 or so available. Fingers crossed.

    • How do you know exact number of stock availability?

  • +2

    Cancellation email received. GG everyone.

  • +2

Well, we have our first winner the BF, if he/she is not the only lucky one. We should hear more movements today from other people, keep us updated.

    • I wonder if there is a higher chance of delivery if no trade-in was selected.

      • +1

possibly, cause they might need special contractors for that delivery and the longer it takes the more time they have to catch everyone who ordered at this price. but it could be anything. samsung makes no rhyme or reason

      • +1

That's interesting, how many got cancelled are without trade in?

  • +6

janglemybottom can't be the only one that's fallen through the cracks surely

    • +15

If only one person succeeds I'm glad it's someone with the username @janglemybottom.

      • +7

samsung were like, 'janglemybottom?' I like that name, here's your TV. everyone else, nah

    • Pardon the bun pun.

  • +3

I just got a call from Samsung to cancel my order. I was told it wasn't a pricing error, and that they just ran out of stock but the salesperson kept trying to sell me another tv at full price (with 10% discount).

    I had a trade in.

    • +7

that's textbook definition of bait and switch

  • +1

I haven't received a call or sms yet. Still holding out hope 🤞

  • +3

Got another call, didn’t answer one hour later no cancellation yet.

    • what was the phone number

      • +1

        02 8293 5712

        • 1300 362 603
          1300 425 299 (GALAXY)
          +6128 293 5712 (For Support while Overseas)

          that's samsung contact us number

        • +1

Yeah, that was the number I got from Samsung when my order was cancelled.

        • +1

Same here, received a call from that number

    • Also got the caall just now. I didnt picked up :)

They are still going to cancel the order and infrom VIA email anyway…

      • did you select trade in when you made the purchase?

    • Stay strong king 🙏

"Damn it Jonhson, we've tried calling again and he still won't pick up - our hands are tied!"

"We're dealing with a professional here Jerry. Better cut our losses and send him two TVs as a peace offering"

  • Ordered and paid with PayPal. Money taken instantly. Order never showed up in my account. Money still gone. Even if I wanted to I couldn't cancel it now since the order doesn't exist in my account. What a crappy company

    • They take the money as soon as order was accepted. Did the same thing during ebay deal. Had to cancel and get the money back later.

      • That's just idiotic. I got an email with order number and tax invoice. But nothing after that

  • +1

Got a call. Both orders cancelled. S90C (ordered around 4:45PM) & DU8000 65" (one hour later). Mel. Trade in selected in both cases. So, basically they did not have any Black Fridays sales:)

Congrats to those who still got it.

    • Ah jeez

    • +3

maybe trade in is the snag cause they need special contractors for those orders

      • +1

I had no trade in, and still got cancelled. :(
