The number they called me on was +61 2 8293 5712

      • Got the call from the same number

    • They are based in Sydney, that looks likd spam call.

    • +2

If you didn't pick up how did you know it is re Samsung order?

      • 🤣

      • Right - that is why I was asking here if it was Samsung for those that did pick up earlier.

        • But the number… is from France…?

          • @CodeXD: Phones have Smart caller ID these days

          • @CodeXD: I’ve had Sony folks in Asia call me before about purchases. These companies are global.

        • +2

Maybe you're getting the French model. LMAO

    • 🤣🤣

  • +4

what tha…………. they want my review on this TV :(

With so many great features, there's a lot to say about your TV so spread the word with a review for all to see. You could even win a $1,000 Digital Mastercard for your opinion.*

  • +5

now i got an email from samsung to review a TV that is waiting to be cancelled…

    • +9

      You're just jealous dude.

    • +9

But it wasn’t an obvious price error.
It was an advertised discount with a “secret” discount code.
They didn’t (at the time) clarify what discount the code provided. So we all bought in good faith.

If they had a 5% code that took 50% off by mistake, that’s a price error. But that wasn’t the case here.

      • -6

The TV was ridiculously cheap. They clearly would lose money on it. Everyone is just salty they couldn’t extort a business error.

        • +3

          you wouldn't have bought ?

          • +3

@sinnerman: Apparently he missed out lol.

            • +1

@Nathw: Missed out on someone else holding $700 of my hard earned money for 5 days?

There's literally nothing to miss out on.

      • -6

"secret" you meant "wrong" code. Go back to the thread again and people knows it was a pricing error to begin with. Stop acting you do not know it was a pricing error after all. I was hoping too, but from the beginning I know they will just refund the money but nothing to lose anyway so I did try. It is just so funny people really acting so entitled and yeah "EXTORTING" a business. Even mentioning ACCC. F**** strayan, so entitled really.

        • +4

I got an email (prior to seeing on OzBargain) with the code saying it was a “secret” discount on top of the sale price.

      • Agree. Who are we to assume it is a price error. Amaysim were selling $159 Optus X Pro handsets recently for $1 to existing Amaysim plan holders here: [https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/874514]. That's over 99% off the RRP.

Businesses legitimately run out stock at "below cost" prices for commercial reasons. Pointing to other past ATLs is meaningless.

    • +9

Broden actually bought 12 to resell on eBay - he's just trying to throw us off the scent with this comment.

  • +4

Dumb A…i have blocked all Samsung numbers they can't cancel my order now :)

    • KEEP CALM AND SAY I AM THE BEST

  • +8

I smashed my phone so even if they change their number, they still can't cancel my order.

    • +8

I burnt my house down so they can't call my landline to cancel my order. take that samsung

      • +4

A bought another S90C at full RRP so even if they cancel my order, I still get the TV. Samsung = pwned.

    • hahahhaha

  • +6

Guys, I do really enjoy reading comments. More fun than watch OLED tv

    • +1

      (interest * $700) well spent

  • How many orders got cancelled were placed within say the first half hour, 45 mins? Before the first OOS on the website.

    • Mine hasn't been cancelled yet. Ordered within 30 mins.

      • May you standing still until it's been shipped. Fighting!!

      • Just got call from them, didn't answer. My order was within 30 mins.

    • Mine hasn't been cancelled yet. Ordered within 20 mins.

  • +3

Got a call. Lady was nice but I'm losing my first purchase 5% app discount. Provided a 10% coupon + 5% (the 5% expires month end and I think its only valid on the same TV if its in stock again..) She said the price was listed wrong but then went to its out of stock as of today but will be in stock again tomorrow.. Assuming they fudging numbers on the stock to get out of the mistake. I also got a 15% discount via chat earlier today so hopefully I can stack it on Friday for something I don't need again lol

    • Friday will be focus on their mobile phones, not sure the chance of another price error.

    • Has anyone ever had luck with stacking two discount codes on Samsung store?

    • They've handled this awfully with their lies

  • +1

Ordered at 4:27pm and got my confirmed email at 4:51.

Still haven't heard anything re:cancellation, will update if I do.

    • +1

I think so far only one of us received call from carrier which saved this deal still be a deal.

      • Really. Who

        • Well not a call, a sms.

I could see it yesterday but it's disappeared today. Order status is still awaiting dispatch. Received an SMS this morning from ANC with a time window for delivery - tomorrow morning for regional VIC

          • +2

            @ce5himm: The chosen one.

            • +1

@bargainhunter9: Sorry but that sms doesn't mean stock is allocated. In previous ebay deal, I got sms from courier twice however no stock was allocated and had to cancel my order later.

              • @karma25: Well, I didn't get any sms. I just hope mate get it.

                • +1

@ce5himm: No call from Samsung to cancel as yet but the order is still awaiting dispatch so no change to my order status after my previous post.
TBH not holding my breath this will be honoured

          • @ce5himm: Sweet, sweet hopium.

            • +1

@Ozybargdias: Well, if it does, jealous more or less honestly. But we all know it's a price error, so that's fine I guess. At least I checked my current TV, organized LG to repair it. That's what I get from this deal.

  • +2

"I'm sorry to inform you that as I can see, your order will be cancelled because there was a technical glitch on our online store for a short duration of our Black Friday Flash Sale, during the time of your purchase. During the checkout stage of your order, the price displayed on the checkout page was incorrect, and was different to the price displayed on the product page."

"Once your order has been cancelled. Refund will be processed in our system today, please allow up to 2 days for this to reflect in your bank provider."

    • RIP

    • Was this a call or email?

      • +2

Live chat… seems like the rep could immediately see a note attached to the order.

    • +1

Isn't the price displayed on the product page always going to be different to the price displayed on the checkout page because the checkout page is where the discount code is applied? 🤔

    • +3

      https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/pricing/price-displays
Isn't that illegal? ACCC website under the heading "When the price at checkout does not match the displayed price" mentions even if this happens as a mistake on the business end, the business must sell at the lowest price. Your thoughts folks.

      • However, samsung's term and condition of sale also states that if there is a price error they have the right to refuse order and refund.

Not sure who prevails (since when we took on the deal we also took on Samsung's term and condition)

        • +2

I'd imagine that the law prevails in all cases - terms and conditions can't negate or breach your rights as a consumer

        • +2

My understanding (happy to be corrected) is that business terms and conditions prevail as long as they don't break the law. Otherwise, every business' T&C's are above the law. In this case, it seems they are breaking the law according to the ACCC and can be accountable.

          • @REEGZ: Well, what can you do even if they’re breaking the law? Sue them?

            • +2

@Nathw: Me as an individual? Nothing much, other then file a complaint to the ACCC. But if enough of us do, then maybe they can take action.

              • +2

@REEGZ: Great, I’ll lodge a complaint as well, let’s do it together 👊🏻

          • +2

@REEGZ: If we all lodge complaint to ACCC, they will investigate. ACCC dont act untill they receive plethora of complaints. What you guys think? I lose the 5% first time app order as well

      • +4

I'll give it a go - will let you know what they say…

        • +2

I'll try as well.. but their live chat is down i think.. was in the middle of a convo and got disconnected

        • Was able to get 15% "loyalty voucher" for purchase when or if it comes back in stock lol

    • Lies. The price on the product page matched the checkout page. Why would I go to checkout if it had $1800 on it.

  • People who received a call:
    * What time did you place your order?
    * Which day did you schedule your delivery?

  • Samsung sent an email asked me to review the TV that I have not received lol

    • +2

Leave a review like, " I was asked to review a TV that's been cancelled, whoever is reading the reviews, do you think you can still trust the rest reviews?"

  • +11

Until my order is cancelled this deal is both alive and dead. Schrodingers deal.

  • +2

Same response I got from Live chat

"There was a technical glitch on our online store for a short duration of our Black Friday Flash Sale, during the time of your purchase. During the checkout stage of your order, the price displayed on the checkout page was incorrect, and was different to the price displayed on the product page and this product is for cancellation. As per the Samsung Australia, website terms and conditions of sale Section 3.3.3 Samsung Australia may refuse to accept your order or reverse your order if there has been a pricing error."

Seems like there must have been an internal memo going around now for this product price error

I ordered within 20-25mins of this deal popping up (before the first initial stockout)

  • Received cancellation call. 5% voucher

    Ordered DU8000 and S90c

    • Your DU8000 order got cancelled too?

    • Both got cancelled?

      • Both cancelled.

        • +3

Are they saying that all the discounts were mistakes?

So… they don't actually have Black Friday sales?

  • +1

Where are all the people negging comments about how it won’t be honoured?

  • +1

Slimey Samsung, dodgy company. Dodgy staff. Dodgy everything

    • +4

Dodgy everything except for the high quality TV we were all clamouring over?

      • +4

Suddenly they make dodgy TVs 😭💀

      • I prefer LG oled but I would have taken this one. I mean I knew they would cancel but I lost my 5 percent voucher for first time buyer so essentially you only get 10 percent off which is nothing they throw those vouchers around whenever you contact live chat.

    • Dodgy businesses need to be punished 👊🏻

  • +6
    • +4

      Done!

      • +1

So that we are consistent in the complaint, what exactly did you write?

      https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/consumers-and-businesses/pro…

      Pricing mistakes

If a business advertises an incorrect price by mistake, they are not obliged to sell their product at that price. However, they must withdraw the product from sale until the price is corrected.

If a customer places an order at an incorrect price, the business must inform the customer of their mistake before processing the order and give them the choice to continue with their order at the correct price, or cancel it. Alternatively, the business can choose to honour the discounted price as a sign of good will.

If a price seems unusually low, the customer can prevent any issues by asking the business if the price displayed is correct.

      • -2

Technically they processed the order as that’s step two. I wonder if there is a case here. Probably is but am I going to invest time?

    • -2

      done.

  • +13

I think people are getting a bit carried away. Come on, this deal is so popular because it was so far under the previous sale lows for this TV and pretty much any OLED 55" for that matter. Deep down you all suspected this was most likely a pricing error, hell go back to the front page and many of the comments are saying as much. It's a bit disappointing they have taken 3 business days to start notifying people but they shouldn't have to sell at a loss for an honest mistake.

    • +4

They could have taken care of this mess in a much better way 👊🏻.

    • +9

Some people are definitely getting carried away with ACCC threats. Lol
