    • Woah how much discount are you getting with the RS9?

      • +1

43% off rrp, but won't stack with v15 code

      • +1

        43% off with RS9

        • It seems when you apply both codes, the CES takes 10% off the RS9 discounted price, and not the original $2,999 price.
          So RS9 + CES = $1538.23 for the S90C

    • +1

Didn't someone say that the S90C was better compared to the S90D because of QD-OLED (or something to that effect?)

      • S90d is also qd oled at least in Australia

      • They're both simliar, S90D has an upgrade chip. Both panels are Glossy. it comes down to panel lottery, whereas S90C could be either gen 1 or gen 2 and the s90D will be most likely gen 2 panel. Samsung only makes 55,65,77 panel that are QD-OLED anything below or higher will be W-OLED panels from LG. You can check on AVS forums and other sources for more in depth findings and research.

Alright, i've submitted a detail bait and switch report to the ACCC. I never do this with these type of deals but this one has really grinded my gears and i'd encourage as many people as possible to follow me.

    • +6

It really has! I got on the chat this morning asking them to reinstate my order since they had stock (because the previous line I got told was that they couldn't fulfil because of no stock) - but of course they aren't able to! Then I see the banner that says ~1000 off the S90C but the actual product page is still listed a RRP

      Very shoddy practices.

    • Interestingly - the order status has changed back to "Order Accepted" from previously being at "Awaiting dispatch". It is not listed as "Cancelled"

    • This is crazy because you'd only be getting 15% off $2,999 which is $2,549. The Black Friday (without TGIBF1 code) price was $1,799. So, if anything, the "correct sale price" should be something lower than $1,799, and DEFINITELY lower than 15% of the RRP….

so many here complainting samsung (terrible/trash/mess/etc.), on the other side still would be happy to giving money to them.

    • +2

exactly. people still contemplating buying at the higher price. which is what samsung want you to do.

  • +2

Just got a escelation call from samsung complaints. She admitted to switch and bait/deceptive misconduct from wording in the convo. Told her its illegal in australia. She didnt care. Asked he to escelate to samsung australia head office, she panicked. Insisted that someone call me from Australia so i can discuss why they are breaching australian consumer laws.
Took reference number to file complaint to fair trading for switch bait.

    • Who takes care of these ACCC or Fair Trading?

      • neither of them would care…unless you escalate it to Albo.

        • -1

Fair trading is biggert rort and waste of tax payer money

      • -1

        Fair trading for individual complaints.
ACCC on a wider scale level like the colesworth case

  • so received a number of calls from Samsung but never bothered to answer. I think 4 calls so far, I'm assuming they are pretty keen to try and upsell.
received an email saying order cancelled and they included some vouchers, but the order number was not referenced properly, so no idea what is going on there….

finally in checking my order on the samsung website, still saying awaiting delivery and has not been cancelled yet nor have I received a refund. Well past the requested delivery date though, and there has been no movement in the order at all. So no idea really whats going on.

I'm guessing they aren't going to let any more orders slip through the cracks and accidentally get delivered right? so no point leaving the order open, and should really follow up on the refund? thoughts?

are people actually seeing their order cancelled in the samsung website? Or does it forever just get stuck in the awaiting delivery status?

    • Slim to no chance of receiving the Tv. My order now shows as cancelled having avoided the phone calls for a few days.

    • yeh i got the cancel email a couple days ago and the money's already been returned. Status on order also says cancelled. Looks like you've suffered yet another samsung stuff-up

      • it is amazing the number of stuff ups they can do! but yeah i'm not surprised.
well, given my order hasn't actually been cancelled as compared to what others have seen, may as well sit on it for a few more days and see how it plays out.

    • Yeah my order got cancelled (after missing 2 calls) once I got that email and money was refunded that day. (This all happened on Tuesday). I just had a missed call from them this arvo, so despite cancelling the order, issuing email with vouchers they still want to try and upsell me a TV… unbelievable

I really can't see a circumstance where they let yours slip through the cracks, I would imagine their dispatch had all the orders pulled and would need someone to pass your order back onto dispatch for it to proceed further and going by what others have said on their system it will say your order needs to be cancelled. If you're not desperate for the refund you could wait a week or 2 and see if any movement happens but my guess is your order and refund won't move unless you contact them.

Heres a direct email to a manager at samsung.

She doesnt believe there was any bait and switch, send her a direct email with your experience.

    [email protected]

    • So pretty much just palmed you off then - did she offer any solution?

      • No solution, just referenced the price error ts and cs. I dont think she understood what a bait and switch was.

  • Thanks mate!

  • Did anybody get a response from ACCC/Fair Trading yet?

    • No, they got bigger issue on their hands most likely.

  • +2

They have it on special again.
    $1600 with code SSTWELVE
Can be brought down to approx. $950 with additional codes

    • Can confirm. Pricing at $958 - should be able to get the 5% first time app purchase on top

      • Are you getting that with trade-up?

        • +1

          Yes. Includes the $100 trade-up

    • +1

Hey mate mine goes down to $1425 with $100 trade in and SSTWELVE CODE. Where do I get access to the additional codes? I would really love to get one at $950 for sure right now.

      • +3

Previous buyers of this S90C deal were offered two discount codes as a result of the deal being cancelled (10% + 15%)
However, you should be able to request a 15% loyalty code via chat if you have existing Samsung Products.

Plus as above, if you were to make your first purchase via the app, you'll get another 5% off.

I'm not planning on using my two codes, I'll DM you.

        • Mate, you are the best

        • I'll take it if the other buyer doesn't use it.

        • +1

For some reason my V15 code replaces the SSTWELVE code, seems they can't be used together on my side…

  • Looking for a code as well if anyone has any to spare!

  • Purchased for the new price of $983. Still pretty sharp price, let's see how I go second time around. Delivery scheduled 03 Jan 25.

    • +1

Mine is being delivered this Thursday (well according to the Samsung App). Was expecting next year as well. We shall see. Thanks to the Ozbargain community and specifically user walkerAU for giving me his 'Samsung Apology' discount codes from the previous mass refund and apology fiasco.

  • Also looking for a code, much appreciated!

  • Damn it! Should have picked up when they were trying to call me. I never got a V15 code, just the CES code.

    • I also never got the V15, they only send out CES and RS9 on the email. Try to chat with Samsung, they should be able to provide you.

  • +1

How many who bought before and got cancelled and taking up this offer?

    • I wish I could, but it won't let me stack my CES / V15 codes with the SSTWELVE code :(
Even though customer service says it should be stackable… tried multiple devices, multiple browsers, still doesn't work.

      • what final price are you getting? the checkout lets you use three codes max. Wonder what's up with yours?

        • No idea… when I put in a V15 code, it completely replaces the SSTWELVE discount, so I can only ever get $1,600 as my lowest.

          • @bargainhunter9: games over on this one, too. codes are now not stacking.

            • @bogstation: Oh I can stack CES and SSTWELVE, but not V15, so lowest I can get is $1440 (and 100 trade in)…

              • +1

@bargainhunter9: yes two codes are stacking but not the 3rd. that's not a good price for this tv when C was only a bit more in the BF sale with vouchers.

  • +1

I think if you had the TV in your cart pre 4pm, the code might still stack. I have had the TV in my cart for 7 hours so it might work if someone still has the discount 'Samsung apology' V15 and CEE codes. I have already bought 1 for myself, it was $910 with trade in. If someone has the codes and it didn't stack for them, I can give it a try and see if it works. I am not logged in so can still checkout as guest.
