Gentlemen (and ladies), it was nice serving with you.

Just got the call (didn't pick up).

    02 8293 5712.

Yup I also had trade in. Ordered within 10 minutes.

    • +1

Thank you for your service 🫡

I ordered within 30 minutes (just before the first OOS) and also had trade in. Hopes are extremely low, but no cancellation yet.

  • +2

I didn't select trade in and no call/email yet

    • +2

      me 2

**Although mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday so not looking good

      • +1

Dint trade in, got a call still couldn't attend

  • I ordered at 5.20pm not holding out much hope. Still haven't received a call or email. I suspect they are going through the list of orders and making their way down.

    • +3

So inefficient, just send out mass emails to cancel and be done with it.

  • +4

Just listened to the voicemail. They just said it's Samsung and for me to call them back haha.

Why would I waste my time to call them just so they can cancel on me and to sell me a TV for more $$

    • +3

i mean, how else are they going to bait and switch you to the next tv for a dodgy discount

      • +2

Yep, whole thing feels like a bait and switch. I reported them to consumer affairs, not because of a pricing error but for bait and switch sales tactics.

        • +4

Especially if some orders are being fulfilled, then it’s clearly not a technical glitch

  • +14

picked up never spoke she said it was about a recent order i hung up. take that samsung.

    • Lol

    • +3

You deserve that tv my friend

    • +3

should have started wailing and sobbing before hanging up for dramatic effect

  • +11

the comment section has more entertainment than TV itself

  • Still no sign of a second person got shipment notice? Only 1 winner still.

  • +6

Still no call about cancellation. I am waiting near front door with trade in TV 😃

    • what is status of your order on samsung order website?

      • Awaiting dispatch I guess waiting for me to cancel :)

  • +12

Got the ring of death, picked up and just heard "7 days" so I hung up then my TV started leaking water all of a sudden

  • +2

I had a missed call yesterday late afternoon and one call a few minutes ago. Didn't take them, but… Also got a text message from them (unread)
Not sure what would be the best option, as it wasn't a price error. The s90d goes between 2000 and 2200, even on sale on Samsung website. It is hard to belive that they would use the 3k price for an older model that nowhere can be found, just to discount it a bit below the latest model. And since they shipping to at least one lucky person, the cancelation wouldn't be fair…

Everyone should report to ACCC for dodgy practices, it may trigger samsung fixing their processes and don't false advertise.

    Sample template:

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding an issue I am experiencing with an online purchase made during the Black Friday sales. The matter concerns the misleading advertising and failure to deliver a Samsung TV that I purchased from [Insert Retailer's Name] on [Insert Purchase Date].

The TV was advertised as being available at a discounted price, with a guaranteed delivery date mentioned in message on website as "Get it by XX November 2024". This assurance influenced my decision to proceed with the purchase. However, despite the order being accepted and confirmed, its status remains as "Waiting Dispatch" on my account. To date, I have not received any updates or communication regarding the delay or an alternative timeline for delivery.

I believe this situation represents a breach of consumer rights under Australian law for the following reasons:

Misleading Advertisement: The advertised delivery date was not met, and no reasonable explanation or updates have been provided.

Unclear Pricing and Intentions: Accepting the order but failing to dispatch the item raises concerns about whether the advertised stock and pricing were genuine.

This has caused significant inconvenience and dissatisfaction. I kindly request that your office investigates this matter to ensure compliance with Australian Consumer Law and to prevent similar occurrences from affecting other consumers.

Please let me know if further details or documentation are required to support my complaint. I look forward to your response and resolution of this issue.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Yours sincerely,

    • Done ! 👊🏻

What people should be complaining about isn't the price error but the bait and switch. They've clearly been instructed to upsell buyers by making personal phone calls and pushing people onto another model at higher price. This is reprehensible practice

      • Doggy business

  • +2

I think the head (or whoever is in charge) of this dodgy company might think it is a good time to sell other TV cos these people are potentially buying a TV. Let's call them instead of sending out emails.

  • Just got the call. It's been nice knowing you boys 🫡🔫

  • Got the call. They said it was a price error, and played completely dumb when I questioned them about other orders being fulfilled.

They also insisted the S90C will be restocked soon if I want to re-purchase it for the 'correct price', but were unable to confirm when it will be restocked or what that price will be ???

Anyway, it's been a hell of time. I love you OzBargain 🧡

  • +3

I just spoke to a Samsung rep, they said that all the proceeds from the sales have been placed in a high interest savings account. Once they have accumulated enough interest to cover the costs of rectifying the price error I'll be refunded.

  • Uh oh I got the call..

  • So 1 out of 10000+ orders got fulfilled?

  • So many dreams dashed today.
Should've known this is just a testing ground for their newest Galaxy AI order cancellation phone bot.

  • Has anyone got the refund processed already?

  • I feel like OP should update the deal and say it was cancelled/rigged/scammed.

    • Why? Someone received theirs this morning.

    • Na they honored 1 so this is clearly a deal, well played Samsung

  • +1

For those still following this saga.. I cancelled my order on 19/11 around 10am AEDT via chat. I tried to cancel using the "cancel order" button but it didn't work. Received an order cancellation email almost immediately after the chat. An hour later received another email that my refund request has been confirmed with a credit note. The fefund appeared on my credit card today.

  • Got the call just then also. Game over for me. That was a bittersweet ride with everyone.

  • It’s game over, they just called me, I didn’t not answer though. I guess I can sleep well now lol

  • +4
As per the Samsung Australia, website terms and conditions of sale Section 3.3.3 Samsung Australia may refuse to accept your order or reverse your order if there has been a pricing error.

    They just cancelled my order

    • +1

Seeking refund for re-installation by Electrical professional of existing 50kg wall-mounted Plasma TV for the amount of $500.

"For removal of an old appliance with Trade-Up you are required to fully uninstall it, this includes; disconnecting the old appliance from all connections, removing it from mountings, and wiping of all data."

      • This actually applies to me. What can be done about that?

    • Yet people will still waste their time with a fair trading complaint 😂

  • +6

The guy who posted his proof of getting it could have easily faked that to troll everyone :P

Easy to change a website as per his first screenshot and 2nd picture could easily come from internet

    • +1

Likely. Althought there are chances that first order went through before they realised assuming that person was first one.

      • +3

you never know, most likely orders are processing offshore, sometimes orders can be processed and shipped without anyone notice, but the high number of orders for the same item in a short time is going to raise red flag quickly, but the reality for the rest of the ppl whose orders haven't been fulfilled the chance of getting it is really slim now

    • +9

I could have - equally I could have been extremely lucky.

Here's the current status of my order on Samsung's website - it hasn't updated to delivered yet.

      https://ibb.co/BntW9q0

Happy to post a screenshot once the status is updated if it'll help anyone with their battle with Samsung.

  • Your order is included on the list wherein the system will cancelled your order.

    and

You can still repurchase your order on the Nov 30, we will provide you the same discount code that you used on your order. We can also add another discount code that you will use as well on your order. Additional discount code that could give you up to 15% together with the discount that you have on current order.

If you want to make a complaint to ACCC don't make it about the price error alone, they are protected against that. Make sure you let them know about the bait and switch attempt which is illegal in Australia. Samsung have clearly demonstrated this by making personal phone calls to affected buyers, telling us it was a price error and trying to push us onto a more expensive model. If they needed to cancel orders a mass cancellation email is normal practice however it seems apparent they've been instructed to make personal phone calls encouraging buyers to purchase a more expensive model with nominal discount. Disgusting practice and they should be raked over the coals for this

    • +1

By making calls they can sell expensive tv with 5% discount rate :) it is not a 1st time dumb marketing by Samsung

      • +1

I got offered 10% off the S90D at $2,199.00 as an alternative that I did not ask for. I had to keep insisting that I did not want another tv as they are trained to keep pushing.

    • +1

I am eagerly awaiting my cancellation call/email so I can make this complaint :)

    • Nice

  • got the call, did not pick up. good playing with you lads/ladettes

  • +7

Just got the call. They made the mistake of being unsure why order was being cancelled. Pulled the deceptive misconduct card. Its been escelated to manager im sydney and order not cancelled as yet. Good things calls are recorded so now we can play ball.

    • Samsung is a mess. Forgive him/her, day one back from holidays or sick leave. No briefing before work.

      • No forgiving they gonna bleed

  • Missed call from Samsung, it was fun while it lasted y'all!

  • +5

I legit missed the call from the infamous 02-82 number. I did a live chat with them. Got the same excuse everyone else here got. I explained to them it's strange that the price was $1799 before the deal, but $2999 at the time of the deal. They admitted to the price going up for the "sale". They tried to upsell me a D-series with the a discount code. I screen-shotted the entire chat, thanked them and explained the ACCC will be getting a copy, which they did.

    Refund in 2-3 days apparently.

    • +2

i just got the email, didn't even have the call

      • +1

They checked your credit score and decided you can't afford full price minus 5%.

  • +2

Order cancelled, refund processed without a call.

  • +2

Phone call received, they tried upselling me a more expensive model. ACCC complaint on the way 👊🏻

  • Got phone call as well, didn't pickup, and they left vm

  • +3

Received a missed call and the subsequent voice message: “Hello David this is Teresa from Samsung electronics Australia and we're calling in regards to the order…”

Well first of all, my name is not David.

    • +11

Her name is not Teresa, either. lol

    • +2

I was "Venkatesh" according to the Samsung Rep 😂

  • Australian call centre or offshore?

    • +2

      Probably Philippines. Sounded Asian.

      • Filipino's always sound American to me.

  • +1

Now it seems like a well planned scam to steal data of thousands of consumers

  • +2

    Received call, missed…

  • +5

Pro tip: if you get discount codes, send them an email stating that the 5% voucher does not work. They'll send you another one for 15%. This one will be stackable with the 10% loyalty one you get (and in my case the 5% first purchase discount). Still not making up for this whole circus, but it's something.

    • I got a 15% off code from them but it doesn't seem to work on any tv's I tried. My code starts with with RS9-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. Is this the code you are refering to?

      • It could be applicable to the S90C model only when/if it comes back in stock….

      • If it doesn't work then contact them, and they'll issue you with another one worth 15%. That RS9 code is probably the 5% one.

Edit: the message I got from the rep states: "Apologies for the confusion on the voucher RS9-XXXX do not work on different models So I sent a new code. Please use the newly issued 15% Discount voucher on the new item you want to purchase to apply you discount."

I used that one with the 10% code they sent. The RS9 only works on "our" model indeed. The guy on the phone did not believe it would get back in stock btw.

        • +2

If there's no stock what's the point of giving you the code, lmao

I think they definitely have stock, but they take off or block all stock to stop the order getting processed, once all the orders cancelled, stock will be released again

  • Still no call yet. Maybe tomorrow…

    • me 2.. I don't know if this is a blessing or a curse

      • Me as well. This situation is just bizzare.

      • +1

Only one is blessed so far.

        • +1

Doubt it. Could be fake or very first one to order.

    • +1

yes put us out of misery or into the rarified air of recipients. I want to purchase a tv!

  • Got the call today (but didn't pick up) but no email yet. My Samsung account still says awaiting dispatch.

    • Same here. They called twice as well.

    • +5

Well, from what we've seen today. Regardless someone is questioning the only lucky guy. Nobody else report any movement of their orders. It's safe to say all orders will be cancelled sooner or later. So calls, emails, order status doesn't matter anymore. Check you card in couple of days, make sure you get the money back, that's it.

      • +1

Yep I think it's only a matter of time, only maybe first few get through before they blocked the item

  • No email or call but my order number also doesn't work and hasnt since Saturday not sure what that's about.. money gone from account. Still holding out in hope haha

  • +9

guys if you haven't received a call and they try to upsell you when they do, remember to call them out on it. Don't let them get away with it. Ask why a cancellation email couldn't suffice and why they are trying to sell you something for far more than the original price error product. Ask them is it company policy to bait and switch buyers and do they know it's against Australian Consumer Law. Tell them that you will report them to the ACCC. i know i've been harping on about this but this one really pisses me off. price errors and cancellations i can handle but bait and switch is a dog act and samsung are making a clear and deliberate effort to do so.

    • They want customer to re-order with 15% discount, but they don't have stock so want to back order at $1900+ price.

    • The handling through the online chat seems different to the calls unless they've caught wind of the "bait and switch" allegation. I missed the call yesterday so reached out via chat a little while back and rep basically generated 2 discount vouchers that could be used for the same model of TV on Nov 30th. No attempt to up-sell on other TVs or any other products.
I did ask why they didn't cancel earlier and why my funds have been stuck with them for a week, rep basically said "we haven't received any details about that from the higher ups", very scripted as you'd expect.

  • Contacted chat, and they're giving me the same oh no it was a price error and the price was different on your checkout page than the website. We will cancel it and you'll get your money back soon. No offer of any coupon or anything.

  • I just went on live chat support. Although I didn't receive a phone or email cancellation it seems my order has been put on the cancellation list. They're probably going down the list since so many people put an order in. Got a 10% trade in voucher and a 15% non-trade in voucher.

    • +3

Hopefully they pull their finger out and finish the rest of the list - it's been a week holding money, doesn't speak well to their processes and intentions.

      • +1

Samsung is happy to keep the money until buyers get frustrated and opt for self cancellation to get the money back.
