  • Is 3 device limit per customer per month an actual thing?

    • -1

Maybe max 4 as we are allowed to have 4 numbers at the same time? I only have 3 numbers that I didn't recharge before I got 3 vouchers.

  • -1

    G54 back in stock

    • Not sure why someone downvoted you. Does indeed seem to be back. (right after i bought the a35)

Ah well. A35 for $99 is still a bargain. Should be updated longer and probably has a better camera.

      • +1 for Jaduqimon

Yes, G54 is back in stock at the time of this comment.

Yes, longer major OS upgrade for A35 and better camera with 4K video recording, unlike G54 only max 1080p.

People who neg too much need to think more positive …

    • And back out of stock again.

  • Can anyone please confirm if the samsung A35 has two physical sims? Optus chat said they are dual sims but the website only says physical sim doesnt call out 1 or 2 sims

    • +1

not that I can find another tray for the second physical sim and no esim

    • +2

Different countries a35s have different specs . its confusing. My local a35 has 1 sim on one side of the slot and a sd card space on the other. There isnt room for a 2nd sim on the back.
Youtube reviews show a second sim on the back of A35 BUT I think that is in the US. Same as OS getting Esim

It wasnt a deal breaker for me but lack of dual sim/ no Esim and no 3.5 headphone jack are annoying.

      • Thanks & appreciate your response.

Can you or someone else confirm, if you are an existing member with a monthly 15gb plan active, can i login & purchase just the device by adding to cart or would i still need to purchase a plan for $30 even if i have just ported in to Amaysim in order to make the purchase? I am considering porting into Amaysim using a $10 sim from Coles with 15gb, 28 day plan so that i can purchase just the phone as an existing customer without having to buy another $30 plan. I have been following this thread for a while now, and Initially, you had to purchase the $30 sim plan mandatorily even if you are new or existing customer. However, recently few comments above indicated that if you are an existing customer you do not need to purchase a plan & thats confused me. Can some one confirm this is correct?

        • +1

you can be an existing customer to buy the discounted phone.

          • @search: Sorry for the confusion, i mean i have the discount code. So, to buy at $200 discount and as an existing customer, would i still need to pay for additional $30 plan or my existing plan would suffice?

As i am considerng porting in to amaysim and then purchasing so that i get clnsidered as existing customer and hopefully not charged additional $30 for the plan.

            • +1

@BargainBragster: I don’t think you need it. I read elsewhere in the comments that you can sign in as an existing customer. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong

              • @Johnsickboy: You are correct. I was able to port in using$30 amaysim card bought from Coles for $10. Had 28 days 35gb validity. Once port was completed and number was activated, i went ahead and added A35 into cart as an existing customer. Applied the $200 discount code and final cart value was only $99. So no need to purchase additional $30 plan if you are on an active 28 day plan. Finally bought the A35 for $99. Awaiting shipping though.
Anyone ordered recently and know how long they took to ship it?

  • -3

That's strange. The model specifications mentions about dual sim but there is no second sim holder for A35 model. Is it just amaysim selling single sim model?

    • -1

box only got one IMEI number and so is the phone same IMEI number there is no second one

    • +3

Where does it say dual sim? Are you on an overseas site? It doesnt say dual sim on Samsung AU site but some countries get it.

  • G54 out of stock as of now

  • -2

    That feeling on Wednesdays.

    • Havent you got enough?

      • Just a meme. This deal deserves a farewell meme.

    • -3

Yep another batch of codes. Since g54 OOS duno what to buy might just get the optics x pro for free for lols

      • How many is in that batch?

        • -3

          9 or 10

          • -2

@Jaduqimon: How on earth do you get codes again for the same service. Or did you activate more sims?

            • -2

@TomGum: Yes more sim. New sim each time. Cole's has them on special the other day $10

      • Get the A35 or A15.

        • -1

          Quite expensive 99$ and $69

        • +1

The G54 has esim, the most attractive feature among cheap phones.

  • Can someone kindly confirm, if you are an existing member with a monthly 15gb plan active, can i login & purchase just the device by adding to cart or would i still need to purchase a plan for $30 even if i have just ported in to Amaysim in order to make the purchase? • +1

If you are an existing prepaid customer you can purchase the phone (e.g. on the 28 day plan or 90 day or 365 day). I've just tried it (both my 90 day and 365 day plan) and I've managed to add it to my cart

    Amaysim is emailing out codes

Seems like your old phone will be blocked

  • +1

As I said in a different thread, I signed up with Amaysim last Friday. Purchased a $2 Sim from Officeworks, and went with the $22 a month plan; really just wanted to get away from Telstras ridiculous price increases, didn't think there was any chance of a voucher.

Currently running a Poco X3 Pro. Yesterday I got an email about my phone being blocked, and a little after that I got an email with a $200 code for discounted or full price phones, which has an expiry of 31/11/24 unless extended.

I've had no communication with Amaysim at all. Tempted to wait to see what deals are up next month, or just get the A35…hmmm.

    • 31/10/24 or 30/11/24 ?

      • Ooh I did not pick that up, thankyou.

The email for the code legit says 31/11/24 expiry down the bottom. But I am gonna assume that's a typo now and looks Iike it's the A35 for me.

        • +2

          31/11 expiry is interesting!

        • +3

I received the same typo. I tried the code and on Amaysim site it says 31/10 which I then confirmed with the customer rep via chat and they said it does expire on 31/10 and not November.

          • +1

@puffy: Yeh that was a close call. I was getting excited to hold onto my code lol.

            • +1

@TomGum: I just checked the email I received yesterday and it says:
              Your discount code expires 30/11/2024.
Phone pricing mentioned in email available until 31/10/2024.

So, the codes are extended till 30/11/2024 but the already discounted pricing on phones may change after 31/10/2024.

              • @djoz: What dies it say on the website when you put the code during the purchase.

                • @TomGum: While I didn't actually try the code first in the checkout which was a bit silly of me, I was chatting to an Amaysim rep just to see if they could tell me if the G54 was due back in stock any time soon - they couldn't provide that info. Eventually they asked me for my code when I asked about the expiry date, which it turns out was invalid for some reason. But they were happy to give me a new one. A35 for me, can't complain :)

  • -1

Seems a bit but and miss now.
I activated a Sim from the 7eleven deal and got 3 text messages and emails about my phone not being supported and that I should have a personalised code sent by email.
I didn't receive the email code but after doing an online chat they gave me a code straight away.
Waiting on my A35 now and have a almost a month to test out the reception on Amaysim.

    • -2

When did you activate the Sim ? Does it have ok only one colour available ? I am interested in the Ice blue colour but their website shows only 1 colour which is navy.
      TIA

      • Only navy colour is available through Amaysim.
When did you activate your sim and put it in an old phone?

      • I activated on Monday or Tuesday and waited a few days for the email with the code but it didn't come.
I wasn't worried about the colour since I'll be putting it in a case anyway.

        • Thanks for the reply but you said that you received 3 messages and emails after putting the Sim in the unsupported phone. Those emails you received were right after the activation ?

          • +2

@koolchamp81: Read previous comments like this and this and you'll understand when you'll get codes.
Whether they send codes next Wednesday after 3G shutdown on Monday is unknown.
Unless they did another scan this week, activation on Mon or Tue this week shouldnt have gotten any messages that phone not being supported yet.
Some people only get the email that says phone not supported but dont get email with code because of the plan they signed up to.

            • +1

@8azinga: I got the email saying the phone wasn't supported. They are sending me one each day.
They didn't send me a promo code email so I used the online chat and said they had been sending me emails but no code. Then online chat gave me the code.

            • -2

@8azinga: As long as people got the email, just ask for the code through chat to Amaysim customer service. My 3 numbers can only receive call/sms and no data (didn't recharge), but I still got the vouchers through chat. No codes in emails.

              • -2

@neoleo: what did you say to the Amaysim guys in order to get the code?

              • +1

@neoleo: Doesnt appear that Koolchamp got any emails or messages. I was explaining to koolchamp when the system is scanned and time it takes to register the the old phone into Amaysim system as it appears that they activated sometime after last Friday.
Unsure how Alexxx activated on Mon/Tue this week and already got 3 emails/messages unless they meant Mon/Tue last week as the network wouldn't have been scanned and updated if they activated this week.
If you send 3 to 3498 from a phone that has been scanned, the last scan shows 18/10/24 as of now. There should have been one yesterday (26/10/24) but that wont be updated into the system until Mon or Tue so will show the previous one until it is updated, then emails/messages/codes will be sent after that.
Some people got emails that just said the phone wasnt supported but didnt mention any discount codes. Online chat dont provide codes to those people. I got one of those on an old number i had and a code was denied by chat.

                • @8azinga: I did receive the emails but never got the code in the email.. got one through live chat though. Actually I was using another device for quite some time and the last device scan indicated that my Moto edge 50 fusion bought from overseas market is capable of Volte calls. But my wife will be using this mobile now because she didn't get any voucher or discount from Coles mobile and I had to put my Sim back in my Redmi note 9 pro. Looks like will order A35 now.. not many options offered.

                  • @koolchamp81: Ah OK. Thought you hadn't received emails/messages since you asked Alex if they received them right after activation to see if you missed out.
Redmi note9 pro should work on optus according to this so you might be lucky the scan showed it as not supported or your volte isnt turned on.

                    • @8azinga: Volte is turned on but as per their whitelist database the phone doesn't support calls over Volte. I have checked that the signal doesn't drop to 3g when making calls and using internet simultaneously but because it's not sold here and they don't have proper details about specifications , they decided to block the device from 28th Oct. Same with other device Redmi note 10. Might try on Vodafone network with a starter pack to see if it will work on their network as they have already shutdown 3g last year and I heard that they allow phones with international Volte standards as opposed to Telstra and Optus which only complying with Australian standards only.
If the phones don't work on Voda network as well then will be nothing more than a paperweight or kids toy for gaming and picture taking..

                • @8azinga: Maybe I'm just lucky, I didn't have to wait and got the unsupported emails the same week.
Even though I got a code through the online chat last week (and my A35 arrived today) I got an email today with a code and the code was different to the one last week.
Maybe as they are getting closer to the shutdown date they are being more proactive about it.
I used the second code to get an A35 for a mates mum so worked out well.
Not to see how they go delivering to my office.

  • It’s asking me to upgrade my PAYG… wants me on a plan 🤣

    • Looks like they recently enforced this. What error message do you get otherwise if you try with PAYG?

      • +1

This service is not eligible to purchase a device.

Upgrade this service to the plan below to purchase a device:

        Unlimited 32GB at $30

        • I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread if I remember it correctly that you need to have an unlimited monthly or yearly plan to purchase the device.

          • @koolchamp81: Mine is a yearly plan, 365 days.
I guess it’s only for people with active M2M plans.

            Still not bad

            • @Rakddon: So confusing as the comments on the first page says that monthly unlimited or yearly plans are able to purchase.

              • @koolchamp81: Yeah, I thought so too…
Still not bad though at $129 for a Samsung A35 5G

        • +3

PAYG 365 days not eligible yeah, but the $10 7 day plan is, just gotta buy it in my amaysim first.

          1. Buy 7 day plan for $10 in my amaysim using existing leftover PAYG credit
          2. Buy phone
          3. Change plan back to PAYG (takes effect after the 7 day plan expires)
          4. Top-up $10 PAYG credit with new 365 day expiry.

Hope it helps anyone else out still yet to buy.

  • +2

I finally received my discount code & it says the code expires 30/11/24.
Does anyone know if the A35 price will finish soon & have any insights if the g54 will come back into stock or if they will make a new offer for other phones (the A55 will be ideal).
I have a feeling they will change the specials on 1st Nov.

    • +1

Their email states 'Phone pricing available till 31/10/2024.'
So, certainly there would be some changes, but not sure about the availability/stock of G54 (and G62 too).

    • +1

I just received my latest round of nagging emails and I guess they have extended the codes again, as it says:

Get one of these selected new phones at no extra charge with your current plan by using the personalised code sent to you via email. Available until 30/11/24. If you haven’t received a code, just call us at 1300 222 500 for more details.

      • +2

The data still shows the scan from 18th Oct. Have you checked with live chat to make sure the code is valid until 30/11 because someone mentioned earlier that it was a typo and expires on 31/10.

  • Just activated sim today afternoon and put to 3g phone. Lets see whats happend?

    • +2

      Probably too late.

      • humm Maybe, but still line is working…

        • haa haaa. the one who neg me, yes still my 2 lines working with those 3g phones, and got promo codes with all of them. Cheers!

          • @Sun One: Are you using the same 3G phone or you have multiple 3G phones?

            • @edgar28: 2 phones, but I swap sims, got email for same sim with both phone names as not eligible. I recon one phone is enough for different sims.

          • @Sun One: If you send 3 to 3498, does it show the phone you are using or a different one?
What date does it say in the reply?

            • @8azinga: It shows, different one initially, but you have to keep sending couple of text, then they will trigger it, what I realize, when it is closer to end of Oct, the increase the trigger frequency and within one day I got email, then chat with them to get the code. but somehow still my phones are working.

              • @Kas: If it shows a different phone initially, i think that means it is showing the phone the previous owner of that number was using. That might be why a few people are getting emails/messages straight the day after they activate because the previous owner was using a 3G phone.

If you have a fresh number that hasnt been used before, the reply from 3498 says "our records indicate your device is not a mobile phone."
Those people have to wait for the scan on Friday which gets updated into system the following Tue.

Your phone still works because the shutdown is happening gradually so while it might work where you are, it might not work in another part of the country.

                • @8azinga: I’ve got a case where my 3G phone scanned this Friday and it comes up after I send 3. But on Amaysim side they can’t give code because it’s not flagged on their end… so go figure!!

    • Let me know how you go. I have also inserted new sim today as my mom just reached here yesterday and she is having a 3G phone. Line is still working.

      • Yesterday afternoon, I got it. Then after chat, got another code.. that is awesome, for $10 (Coles), $200! I got 2 sims in 3g phones, still both lines are working on those 3g phones.
Just try, still worth the try with $10 sim from coles ($30 value), but make sure once you put that to phone, send couple of text messages with '3' to 3498. Just in case, if you can't send it, just call them, they have updated this on their web since yesterday,
        https://www.amaysim.com.au/3g-network-changes

        "Helping you to stay connected

Do you urgently need a new phone to stay connected?

Credit of up to $200 is available to assist 3G impacted customers with purchasing a new phone, simply contact us on 1300 222 500 to check your eligibility and to get a personalised discount code. These phones will be available with your code at no cost.

How do I get in touch with amaysim now my phone no longer works?

Use a friend or family member’s phone to call us.
Reach out via web chat using a WiFi connection.
Try messaging us in the amaysim app using a WiFi connection."

To be honest, not sure why Amaysim do such a thing, may be because they are the last one move from 3g, non of other providers didn't do like that, I mean such a credit.
        Gool luck!

    • Have you tried them on a Vodafone sim?

    • My one is still working.

  • +1

    @WatchNerd, hey mate.
Unfortunately my work sim is telstra and I can't change that.
Personal SIM is Kogan only data works on the ZTE phone and nothing on the Xiami 😢

  • -5

Anyone tried ordering more than 3 handsets within a month and had no issues with delivery?

  • +1

Do we need to purchase the plan along with the phone (e.g. $30 minimum plan)? Or can we buy the discounted $10 plan (50gb 28 days) and add the phone later on?

    • +1

I did $30 plan for $10 at Coles
when activating select the Unlimited $10 /7 days
      Purchased phone
      cancelled auto renew

will covert to PAYG 365 day after phone delivery.
Phone to be delivered today, order made yesterday.

  • -4

Anyone checked with them if more Moto phones will be available soon or not ? Very few options in the budget and no colour options as well.

  • Finally bought A35 today for $99 and $10 plan. Bought $30 28 day sim from coles for $10 and it worked as an eligible existing service to buy new phones. Checked old emails and found a $150 off code with expiry on 31 Aug. Surprisingly, that code still worked today with a $200 discount.

    • +2

      Username checks out, but winning!

  • -6

Taking a gamble with my last batch of codes hoping the 30 Nov expiry is right and new phone deals.

    • What ya buying eventually with the Motos OOS?

      • -4

        being buying A35s

        • -3

How many A35s have you bought?

  • Wonder if it is over. Didn't receive any email or sms about phone not being supported after last Friday's (25th) scan. The scan was done and system was updated to show the phone Tue morn or late Mon and this triggered Amaysim to send emails/sms on Tue and then codes on Wed last week. Maybe they will send something tomorrow but i'm not counting on it but i also suspected that might stop sending codes after shutdown started. Guess we will find out tomorrow.

    • Which device?

      • One that doesnt have VoLTE.

    • -3

they send codes out wed arvo usually.

      • I know codes come Wed but they sent email/sms on Tue first to say your phone isn't supported (without any code). At least that is what happened last week for me. If they stopped sending those messages out on Tue, then i'd guess they wont be sending codes out on Wed but we will find out tomorrow.
