Can I buy the $10 50GB amaysim starter pack from coles/woolies and stick it in my Samsung Note 5 to receive a $200 code?
And if I manage to get the code, while purchasing the Samsung A35, do I have to pay additional $30 to renew the plan?

I am currently getting constant messages from Vodafone that my phone won’t work after 3g shutdown. That’s why I thought I might receive the code.
Then, it's worth a shot, but it's not guaranteed since you only have a window of around a week for them to issue you a code before the 3g shutdown. Regarding your second question, you generally need to pay the $30 to renew from my experience.

Amaysim won't be sending out vouchers automatically.
You might have to get on the online chat and see if they will give you a code.
Existing customers get an email to say your phone and phone number is affected. Contact their number / chat to see if you can get an upgrade phone for free (that is where the voucher comes in).
Just an update online chat with Amaysim got the code
I signed up with Amaysim last Friday. Purchased a $2 Sim, and went with the $22 a month plan.
Today I got the email about my phone being blocked, and a little after that I got an email with the $200 code.
It's weird they want me to buy a prepaid phone plan to buy a phone with the voucher.
Despite giving me the 200 off voucher
I bought the Samsung A35 as a new sim card plan using the $200 voucher.
I am not going to activate the sim card. Can they charge me the ongoing $30/month with I don't activate it?If you ordered as a new number, it comes pre-activated, and the start date of plan gets reset when you first insert/use your SIM.
Login to your amaysim account and check the SIM Plan. Also, you can go in to settings and see if Auto-Renew is turned ON. If yes, they will charge you with $30 per 28 days unless you turn it off.Amaysim is strictly prepaid, if they fail to deduct money from your card it will just revert to a basic pay-as-you-go plan.
Exactly my experience with A35 and $200 voucher. "YES" to your question is you don't do anything.
I didn't put the SIM card to my phone and didn't activated. But I forgot to switch off the auto-renewal. I was charged another $30 on the 28 day. Are contacting Amaysim I was able to get them to refund the second $30.
Since we already paid the $30 for the first 28 days when ordering the phone I don't think it's reasonable to get the first $30 refund. I just hope they will reset the plan activation date when I put the SIM in my phone.
I contacted Amaysim this morning through both 1300 number and online chat. It seems the CSR is not giving out discount code anymore. Exact wording from both communications: I cannot generate the code. System will generate the code when it detects your phone is impacted.

I used my code to buy my sister a Samsung A35 (I already had an Amaysim account to add the phone to). She has since received her own code and I hope to use this if an iPhone deal comes up. Will her code work with my details or will the purchase have to be in her name?

Samsung Note 5 supports 4G and band 28 so probably not
