Let me talk to the team!

      • Any word on this? Great deal but workloads begging for that extra VRAM

        • +1

Humm we are likely to add 4090 options but need to upgrade to ATX case as the current one is bit tight :D

          • @BPC Technology: Cheers for the update. Definitely keen if it goes ahead. The 4090 is an absolute unit and needing to upgrade my case (and psu) to handle it is exactly why I'm considering one of these builds. Thanks!

  • Hope you have 7900xtx option for the GPU..

    • Doing it now!

    • +1

Added :) But very limited stock!

  • +1

Interested in getting this, but I feel the upgrades make it from a good deal to an average deal. Spending $3k on a computer, I don't want to skimp out on some parts.

    • Spending 2k on the GPU is the issue….

    • +1

Just upgrade the mobo, wait for an SSD deal and buy the SSD later. There's not much else needing an upgrade.it works out to be $3148 which is still amazing.
Ram is a cheap but minimal upgrade. So i wouldn't worry too much. You can spend the extra $19 it's not an expensive upgrade.
This is one of those PC's that aren't really gimped. You have a fantastic PC from the outset.

      • reading on their website - the PC comes with tamperproof sticker - if you remove it you void warranty , so adding SSD while easy can stuff you around if there are issues.

        • Doesn't mean anything. They would have to prove that your "tampering" has caused the issue and not their parts and workmanship.

  • My Avast Antivirus has blocked my access to BPC Tech's website completely due to card stealer virus/trojan?

    • Yeah we are negotiating with Avast regarding this issue, many customers report this problems to us, sorry about that.

    • Its a issue many customer mentioned us before, our software team already reached out to Avast I think they are still negotiating.

  • +1

Any upcoming sales on some cheap M2 SSDs?

  • -2

    Only a gold psu for $3k ?!

    • Did you realize GPU is worth at least 2k?

  • With MoBo, ram and SSD upgrade the build in BPC is $3226
Pcpartpicker has same build for $3519
    https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/HPGQyg

    • +1

      https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/73BMFs
$3480 vs 3136 for bpc build. Note BPC ram is still better than one in my PC build. Pcpartpicker couldn't find the 6400 cl32
Switched mobo from Asus to ASRock as cheaper and similar

  • Not sure if its a good deal anymore after upgrades

    • What upgrades did you select?

      • mobo ram ssd psu

        • Why psu?
The stock is more than sufficient

        • does it need a better psu

    • +1

Yeah. GPU alone is worth 2k plus. To get this price BPC had to 'ozbargain' their build.

  • +1

Any possibility of putting in a samsung 990 pro nvm?

    • +1

      Will add options!

      • How much more would a 2tb 990 pro be?

        • +1

We don't have many instock so PM didn't make the option.

Amazon is doing special now, 2TB only cost 225 :D from amazon us.

          • @BPC Technology: That's a good price, though usa warranty. Maybe some local sales will be on black friday

  • can you get this case with the LCD screen ?

    • +2

      Sure will add case options!

      • and can you get it in white :)

        • +1

          okok

  • need 3090!!

    • You can't even buy them retail anymore, so no.

      • sad

  • Strongly considering this - are there any upgrades recommended for this?

The PSU and RAM seem fine to me, and I use ethernet so MOBO seems fine as well.

    • I'm also trying to decide. Maybe upgrade the ram from C40? Any thoughts?

      • I got CL40 as well. Not the best but it worked fine with a similar system of Ryzen 7900 and RTX4080.

But for $19 of upgrade I'd say it's worth it.

    • Definitely upgrade the RAM, and if this is a build you are planning to keep for a long time, then upgrade the motherboard as well, so you have more expansion slots for SSD's. You can upgrade the case based on your aesthetics. Those are the things I would personally upgrade if I ended up purchasing this build.

      • Which of the two ram upgrades would be better?

          • +1

@maverickjohn: noticed they added another option for another $20, maybe diminishing returns by that point

            • @Postal Dude: @netsurfer could explain more than me but the Lexar 6400 at cl32 would be too close to Trident 6000 at cl30. The Lexar is hynix-a die which is a good chip in ram and honestly is incredible value for only $19 extra I would probably just stick with the Lexar

            • +3

@Postal Dude: Based on tests done by Steve from Hardware Unboxed, DDR5-6400 CL32 vs DDR5-6000 CL30 default settings, 6400 CL32 doesn't offer noticeable performance advantage in gaming. Guessing maybe it is due to DDR5-6000 CL30 has the same overall latency as DDR5-6400 CL32 (10ns). However, Steve also showed that tuning the memory is more useful than getting higher frequency. Tuned DDR5-5800 can deliver better performance than DDR5-6000 CL30 and DDR5-6400 CL32 default XMP / EXPO settings. However, tighten RAM timing is a form of RAM overclocking.

Guessing some people might have asked for the Trident Z5 RAM upgrade option. I think some people are concerned about stability. One really annoying thing I found is that using traditional MemTest86 is insufficient for AM5. A PC can pass those tests multiple times, but still blue screen in Windows 11 from time to time. Also, when you watched youTube videos, you are watching the summary of results. When you do play around the settings manually on your PC, it can be quite time consuming. Furthermore, one OZBer encountered a blue screen error recently and his PC has Hynix A-die kit. So, even Hynix A-die doesn't mean zero issue. Most A-die kits do push the RAM frequency and CAS latency.

Anyway, hopefully, people get smooth experience with their AM5 systems. Upgrade to Lexar seems more cost effective. Trident Z5 is well known so tuned settings are easier to find. Guessing people getting Z5 might be interested in trying out the tuned settings.

      • Based on other comments on the build around here, is it worth considering upgrading the MOBO? I don't really have an issue with it if there's no Wi-Fi, or only 2 slots for SSD - but I'm kinda illiterate when it comes to mobo's.

Also is the case fine as is for cooling etc.?

        • BPC changed the motherboard. It was B650M K. It is now B650M DS3H, which is acceptable (in terms of VRM).

    • In your case probably just Ram but stock build is already very good. Everything is a marginal upgrade.
Honestly for me the only upgrade I would recommend to people is just mobo. The faster ram would help but not massive amounts. It is a cheap upgrade however.
Just but an SSD when they go on sale. Chatgpt puts heaps here so you're bound to find a great deal

  • Gahhh, this is sooo tempting but I need more m.2 slots (Atleast 3)

  • I thought shipping was free for sydney metro? i did all the upgrades and it comes to $3,728.00.
Might hold off for now unless theres a code i can use to bring this down a bit. Upgrades are a bit pricey 🎻

  • -5

@Nebula PC - can you price match :)

    • +7

You ask BPC to do you a favour then you ask a competition to price match…. On the deal that BPC is trying to help you out with.
Do you not see how rude that appears

      • -2

what favour? are they giving a free upgrade?
if they are going to charge extra its just an option to have , if i buy or not its still to be decided

  • With delivery, is the stardard price $124 but to get a more secure/safe send you pay $99 on top?

    • Hi there, $99 is premium dispatch service which means we will handle your order as priority.
But not really related to extra packaging.
I would reccomend startrack if you worries about shippment safety :)

  • @BPC Technology Is there anyway we can get this as an option for the case: https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/pc-o11dew-lian-li-o11-dyn…

Also any options for White cooler, I want to build a white build, but most of the options are black.

  • I don't like the default case what's the best case offered to upgrade to in everyones opinion?

    • +1

Lian li 216. assume you dont care about "having glass on both sides"

It looks fine, come with amazing fan so no need to pay for extra.

If you want those fancy looking glass case, then o11

      • Awesome thanks looks like I'll go with the 216 :) and do the ASRock wifi mobo and the Lexar ram upgrade

  • Been waiting since march when i bought a 4k lg c2 oled, my poor 3770k and 1070 gtx can only play 10 year old games. This should be sweet, got the $19 lexar ram upgrade. Normal mobo should be fine for me. Hopefully some samsungs 990 2tb deals on black friday. All I have to do now is click the buy button and bury my 11 year old pc in the yard.

    • All I have to do now is click the buy button and bury my 11 year old pc in the yard.

Likewise with my 970m… Though I wouldn't quite bury it I guess, would come in handy 😁

    • Looks like BPC removed the discounted add a NM790 2TB and 4TB SSD options. Lexar ANZ rep thinks other SSD makers will raise prices. I still feel Lexar ANZ rep is brave. FireCuda 530 2TB is being discounted and Black Friday and Cyber Monday are approaching.

      • +1

I have said it before, and I am saying it again…
Price is going up, if you see a deal on ANY brand, samsung, wd, kingston or seagate or whatever.
        grab it.

I am not trying to scare people on Ozbargain into buying few lexar drives. People here are the most price sensitive group, if it's only that easy to fool people I'd be a billionare by now.

Ozbargain is more of a information exchange hub than a market place for me.

But it doesn't matter, from now on I will only answer questions rather than sharing industry information.

Simply beacause it's quite scary that I only need to be wrong once to get crucified.

so no, I am not "brave", I just have information ahead of time.

        • +1

in case anyone wants to know a bit more.
here is an article, it only went with the Samsung side of things…there are more information gets left out, but the conclusion is correct in my opinion.
          https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/samsung-flash-nand-c…

          • @Lexar ANZ Chris: Hey Chris. It's all good the market is unpredictable and it's not your fault. It's just your comment is like a prototype car way ahead of its time. It probably made people thinking it was a fear tactic.. in all fairness I'm really grateful for the 4tb nm790 use it happily since the last deal :).

            • +1

@maverickjohn: I agree, quite of the things I said was way too early to show here.

Most senior reps in Australia knows each other for many years. I talk to few major SSD brand people.
So I actually know few brands still have some big deals under their sleeves…price going up is a industry fact already, but there will be some good pricing popping out for BF and Christmas.
My info transtition to market reality still gonna take few months…that's why I choose to shut up.

Anyways, thanks for your support, I really hope you enjoy the drive.
By the time you want to upgrade, I hope I already drive the 8tb and 16tb gen 5 price down :D

        • Based on the information on the Web, some SSD NAND flash makers (okay, let's assume most) will "reduce" production to prevent more price falls. However, it is known that due to the US sanctions, YMTC actually stockpiled 112L NAND and had plenty of reserve. The only thing is perhaps it was the previous gen NAND.

Also, the general consensus is that YMTC wouldn't reduce production. We are seeing Amazon doing SSD deals again. With the NM790 2TB price rise for example, we are looking at $20 difference between NM790 and some sought after flagship SSDs. One retailer's current 11.11 promotion doesn't make NM790 2TB or 1TB attractive at all. Multiple flagship PCIe gen 4 x4 SSDs with DRAM 2TB models are reasonably cheap at the moment.

Quite a number of SSDs are cheaper now from retail stores than what I bought them around the time I bought the NM790. The fact is, I simply cannot recommend NM790 to people at the moment with the new prices. It is this "trust you" instead of providing the actual information that's concerning. An OZBer posted a link to an article explaining what the SSD makers are doing. We also know you weren't too happy about the stunt MWave pulled recently.

YMTC is one step behind other NAND makers in terms of coming up with more effective solutions. We know SSD makers generally have a decent margin so let's not pretend Lexar is the white knight. This package deal is a good example. It is about reducing that margin to entice people to buy and the SSD is just a tiny piece of the overall package. Even Budget PC is smart enough not to include NM790 in the default package to keep the cost and price down.

          • @netsurfer: look, you have said so many things that is complete not true…but I am not here to argue.
In fact, reply you is already very risky for me.
So please understand I can't give every information out.

I also agree there are lots of deals going on left and right.
There will be more deals as well…I know few brands saved few hundred thousands just for black friday promos…so that part you are right.
And there are also foreign deals that's gonna impact us here as well.

The only 3 things I want to clarify about you said is:

            1. you mentioned I were't too happy about the stunt mwave pulled recently.

That's very wrong. I couldn't be more happy brands put our stuff out there and doing promotions and bring values to customers.

The general undertone that I want to make stuff expensive and get people to buy and pay more is very far from what I try to do here.

In fact, if I can be the first one to sell SSDs at 1cent a piece, if situation allows, I am more than happy to do that.

"We know SSD makers generally have a decent margin so let's not pretend Lexar is the white knight."

this is just plainly wrong. I have worked with OCZ, Team group, Adata, and I spend good 10 years working with Samsung branded memories.
There were times makers are making good money if they are market leader. But most of the time, no, no one is making good money on SSDs.

As for now, WD just discountinued their own brand SSDs.
            in case you don't know:
            https://unboxdiaries.com/western-digital-branded-ssds-are-no…

brands are struggling, big or small.
As for "white knight", that's what I strive to be.
Australia SSD market is about 300M.
The real big games are in the industrial space.
Retail SSD in the past 10 years, I can't say I have witness "decent margin" ever.

lastly, you said "budget pc is smart enough not to include NM790" in the default package to keep the cost price down…
well…they include NM620 in the original package to keep the cost price down.
NM790 is more expensive than NM620.

BTW, last time you asked, I haven't give you a solid answer, but NQ790 should be available in 2 weeks in AU.

            • @Lexar ANZ Chris: Hey Chris what's the difference between the nm790 and the ares gen 4 they look exactly the same?
              But Ares is priced cheaper

  • Can anyone who has a BPC build advise if they set up their fans correctly (PWM, hysteresis etc).

My last prebuilt I got from Scorptec was set up awfully, with fans idling at 1500RPM+ and was a pain to change.

    • Why is it a pain to change? Should be adjustable in bios?

      • Unfortunately not, not enough pwm headers on the mb

        • I guess that's one of the downfall of more entry level matx board. A lot less connectivity. I have 7 fan header on my B650 edge. So never thought that is an issue.

  • I have been eyeing out on a 4080 and noticed they added the Fractual North case?

Any chance we could get a white one? Happy to order a black one and send an email to change to white.

Other than that the default MB seems quite decent accorinding to this hardware unboxed video

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTFUa60ozKY

    • +1

I will ask the team to add the white option for you tmr :)

      • +1

Also interested in the white option!

    • +1

      Added :)

      • they're gone?

        • Yeah sold out already

      • Great thank you.

I checked and it seems to be gone. Did it sell out (either black or white)?

        • Yeah sold out already, the ETA is like 3-5 business days for the case.

If you happy to wait I can put the case option back on line.

          Cheers,
          BPC Team
