    • Improved suspension on 2023 model Y built vehicles. I don’t find any issues with last years but it’s subjective.

USS hasn’t been removed from our Shanghai built cars.

  • I’m interested in what charging cables/fast charging setup ozbargainers are using? I have 3 phase power at home.

    • I just use the Tesla Wall Connector. Cheaper than the alternatives and high quality.

    • Tesla Wall Connector is $750 (plus you need to pay a sparky to install) and can charge 50-80km an hour (depending on setup etc). The Tesla Mobile Connector is around $550 (often referred to as granny charger) and can only charge around 10km an hour, but you can take this one with you and use any standard outlet so don't need to pay to have it installed. It depends on how much you are driving, on the forums most people recommend the Mobile Connector unless each day you are doing more than 100km.

      • Thanks. I am kind of thinking the mobile one will be enough but we may end up with a Tesla and a Polestar 2 so perhaps a faster wall charger for home would be handy. Also Im not sure if you need a super charger cord when on a road trip? Am wondering if there’s a cheaper “ozbargain” alternative to the genuine ones as there seems to be a multitude of 3rd party options available?

        • I use a 32a 5 pin adapter to UMC charger. Cheaper than getting the wall charger + installation.

If you end up getting a tesla, you can use the superchargers on a road trip. You don’t need any additional cables.

Did you have solar? If so, you can utilise your excess solar to charge your tesla at home as well.

          • @Heybargain: So unfortunately I don’t yet have solar but that does seem like a good idea. I am wondering if using non- genuine parts somehow voids your Tesla warranty?

        • Don't need another cord for Tesla DC superchargers, however other chargers etc can vary.

I haven't read through this thread but want to warn people the quality of these cars is still rubbish with huge uneven gaps between doors, plus many other items which you can goggle for yourself

Mainly for US built vehicles. Ones coming out from Shanghai sold here in AU don't have many issues.

      • +2

I found this strange, maybe YouTube has focused me on mainly American creators but I don't think I have come across many Aus drivers showing poor quality in their videos.

And wot.. made in China quality > USA? I'll have one of those humble pies please….

Glad they are spending up on quality control in the shanghai factory

US built cars have problems, Shanghai/Berlin built are easily the equal of Japanese built Toyota's.

  • More leaks on next gen M3, love the integrated dash, not a fan of the current infotainment. https://twitter.com/notateslaapp/status/1646635655378751495?….

    I’d wait for the refresh…

  • Thanks op bought one each

  • More price drops coming?

    • Maybe. Though they don’t largely need to cut any further here to be competitive.

But anyway if the price drops before delivery you get the new price.

$6000 rebate on base model 3 in QLD after today's announcement

    • And not on the Base Model Y, as it is $900 too much.

      • Most likely this will be met soon with the next price cut.

  • if the rumored model 2 comes out in 2024 for the 25k USD (37k AUD) then see a massive increase in EVs I woudl say fuel is not getting any cheaper and with the large amount of FREE tesla chargers and free public chargers you can go to these days I would say it costs you next to nothing to run a tesla.
