  • Wallbox Pulsar Plus is an older / discontinued model. However it’s apparently not too much different to the Pulsar Max.

Pick of the bunch would probably be the Zappi.

Worth mentioning that RevCharge seem to follow the normal sales cycle, and have in the past offered 10% discounts (store wide?), which is about the same as the $200 discount in the current sales…

    • Someone mentioned this Victron one in a thread recently, seems to offer all the features of the Zappi at a much lower price.

I wish it was around when I bought my charger last year. That said, I'll probably be upgrading to a bidirectional one once they're approved.

      • If I recall correctly I did some research at the time that EVSE was mentioned and the Victron website was cryptically short of details / you needed to buy some other hardware to get the same level of functionality as the Zappi.

But my memory is foggy, so take that with a grain of salt.

As for bidirectional, that’s a noble goal - however the only current vehicles that support it are Nissan Leaf’s or a couple of Mitsubishi PHEV. Perhaps some manufacturers could add it as a firmware update to current cars? But I don’t see that happening. But all good if you are in the market for a new EV in the future…

        • +1

Yeah, look likes there's extra hardware, but then my Zappi hasn't exactly been amazing. I'm regularly doing hard resets, it can't keep the wifi connection going, if I leave the car plugged in to schedule it it doesn't start charging a lot of the time.

It's on me to reach out to RevCharge or Zappi to fix it, but when I've done so in the past it's usually just reset it and it works for a while. And it's not like I'll be returning it, I'd rather the hassle of resetting it every now and again than ripping out the old and replacing it. It's not like I can drop it back at the store.

          • @freefall101: Oh wow - that’s some awesome feedback which I hadn’t heard about the Zappi’s before - thanks very much for that.

  • Is the wall charger gen 2?

  • I both purchased and had my Tesla Wall Charger by Revcharge last month. Very easy to deal with and would highly recommend. They outsource the install to your local electricians and the one I was assigned to was also a pleasure to deal with.

BTW, it is the latest Gen 3 they are supplying.

    • How much did you pay for installation?

      • I paid the standard install charges.

  • I'm interested in the Tesla Wall Charger as it would be neater than just a charge cable laying on the ground (and allow a faster charge which doesn't really benefit me) but is there any other advantage?

    • I just mounted the UMC. V cheap aliexpress mounts available

  • Any MG4 owners here? If so what charger did you go with?

  • Recently purchased EV. If you don’t drive particularly long distances or have solar, are there any other benefits compared to using the granny charger?

  • Some queries on the Tesla charger if anyone knows..

    1. Do you need to use a Tesla charger to charge a Telsa, or can other 3rd party chargers also work?

    2. My house has 3-phase available (and wired to my garage). Though I hear the model 3 is limited in kw. So no point having the 3-phase?

    • third party works. not sure about second question

      1. Any car can work with this.

      2. Model 3 is limited to 11kW over 3 phases or 7kW over a single phase. So it entirely depends on which wall box you get.
