Not sure this is the case when porting a current number from another telco. Last time I had a 6-month deal the SIM arrived and I had to go through the normal processes in changing my number across. Took 15 minutes, no dramas

My SIM arrived, not activated so much as allocated to my number and to this plan. Had to go online with Chat to get it sorted out, they were very helpful. Working great, 4G running in the high 180s download and great call quality
Ask nicely in the chat, they were happy to match the Black Friday promotion for existing customers.

I was asking about the sim pack itself. It mentioned "Activate by dec 15th". If I do not activate by this date, do I lose all the credit/sim pack basically?

thanks, they said they can do the 25% for the 60gb, which I am happy with (seeing I missed out on the1/2 price $60 plan) as my plan expires on 27th and I have used less than 7gb over the whole 12 months lol Next year I am doing it asap as soon as I see the sale lol
Don't get trapped with Amaysim. I was using Amaysim for the last 5 years. in June someone sell my amaysim login details and swap my number and lost $20000. Their people selling your personal data or they dont have secured system to secure your personal information.

@souths123: I tried, and the support asked me to purchase a $10 pay as you go sim card as normal, then put a note saying I can got 50% discount when I switch to long term plan. Will see how it goes when I swith.
@superozbargain: lol, well see how that goes, although I am already a customer, so the chat usually either gives me the deal or gives me credit to go towards a deal. In this case, she gave me $30 credit (25% off offer of the 60gb plan) and that brings the plan down to $90, instead of the $99 currently on offer, now that the Black Friday deal is finished. Not as good as the $60 deal, but better than nothing, and next year I won't wait, I will take up the Black Friday offer the first day they announce it. Last year they had 3000 slots for the offer and this year it was 2000, which is why it finished early. I didn't realise it was a limited number offer, or I would have done it before today.
Thought this would expire black Friday or cyber Monday.

Me too, I want to get the sim today as I ported out yesterday and thinking to port back in today for the $60/60GB… well they are gone this morning and is now $99. The next best one I think at $99 is ColesMobile which I am getting it today. It's $99 and is for 120GB and also Free International Calls! Pretty Good at $99 I can say… double to data and with International calls too! Or the Kogan one is also doing $199 for 100GB. (Depends one which Network you want, Optus [Coles] or Vodafone [Kogan])

How funny that they would have thought hard about this promo and then had to pull it half way through. So they thought they were over-discounting ay.
Definitely not over discount I can tell you, I am an ex-Optus in Wholesale looking after mobile MVNO around 3 years ago and they fully Acquired Amaysim for $250M, and I was the one suggesting if Vofofone got TPG and Telsta ever think of taking over Amaysim, Optus will definitely got no customer base and will be leaving as 3rd in Telco world… so I guess they did the right thing. And now I am not working in Optus, I know this is a strategic of keeping the Optus customer base…. even if they make the plan to $30, they still earns a bit. Because as of now Amaysim, I don't think those Amaysim 365 days cheap plan uses Optus 5G Network (FYI - think Amaysim only have 1 5G plan using Optus 6G Network, is the $55 60 GB / 28 days), that is what makes them selling at low cost. If it was $120 for 60GB, Optus earns a lot, $60… just profit a little less… $30… I would say is around the mark but you will never sees this… I know, as I saw those 'old' plans when I work in Optus (although not sure how much it changes now after 3 years…) ;-)
Something for people to think of when looking for SIM PLANS: 28days in Amaysim. if you buy those compare to 1 month plans. 28 days is equivalent to 13 months! That is a profit that Amaysim (Optus) do think of ;-)

I went on chat to ask whether they can still do $60 for 60GB 365 days plan and the sales rep said yes they can if I transfer my number over and get it activated by today! Took 2 hours to get my number ported over - Do note that I had to sign up for As you go plan first which costs $10

I went on chat after it had expired earlier on Friday, and they said they do it. Instructed me to activate a $10 PAYG plan with them (bought prepaid sim for half price $5 at woolies), which apparently gave me $20 credit, because when I went back on chat today, for $40 they upgraded me. So got the 60GB 365 deal for $45. Incredible deal!

I'm an existing customer. Jumped onto chat and asked for a renewal offer. Didn't offer much initially but after mentioning the better deals from voda, coles, kogan and boost they eventually just gave me 1/2 price renewal

Still waiting on mine. Ordered about 10 minutes after deal was posted, and received a shipped email from amaysim that same arvo.
It does say 2-10 business days. So it should arrive by next Monday, hopefully.
