Generally that’s for new number. But you can call amaysim to reset the start date. I did that when I purchase the 28 days expiry. When I received the sim it was already day 14. I called up and got it reset to day 0 again. For port over, it will start when you give authorisation to port over

    • Interested in knowing too

  • +1

    Good deal TA! Thank you

  • I asked chat again and they gave me a different answer "Purchase between 9.00am (AEDT) on 21 November 2022 to 11.59pm
(AEDT) on 25 November 2022 or while stocks lasts and activate by 15
    December 2022."

    • lol…well better buy it then call them then…their advise is all over the place

  • Do I have to buy it online only for the deal? Or can I just a grab an Amaysim sim from local store and recharge with this deal?

  • How does Port work?
If i enter my number now, does it only port over when it is in my phone or when ai enter my number into the amaysim website? I don't want to port now and have to wait a week without a phone..

    • +1

No it won’t port over until you receive the SIM card and activate it and give authorisation for the port over.

  • -4

Can I activate the Sim in July next year?

    • +1

Purchase between 9am AEDT on 21 Nov 2022 to 11.59pm AEDT on 25 Nov 2022 or while stocks lasts, and activate by 15 December 2022.

  • +1

How do I buy without transferring my number yet

    • choose "port number" and enter your current phone number when buying the sim. Amaysim will send you authorisation code to your current number but it will not transfer/port your number.

  • Can you receive calls/smses if using Amaysim overseas?

    • +1

I have used Amaysim while overseas (Bali) and I was able to receive SMSs, to which I responded on WhattsApp. I did not get any calls, so I can't comment on that

    • +2

Yes, you will. Have to activate International roaming through the settings before leaving. It will cost $1/minute to make a call or receive a call. I have used a few times in multiple countries. Receiving messages is free, but sending a message is costly.

  • Holy shit 5 bucks for 5 gb per month, wish I have this in May…

  • Does this amaysim offer wifi calling like boost?

  • Wouldn’t let me port over a number that was previously with Amaysim but currently NOT with amaysim. This is something new; used to be able to do it in the past….

    • +1

How long ago did you port out?

    • +1

Strange that they do not want your business, I would go on live chat and ask why you cannot port your number back to them. I am sure it's an issue with their system.

    • +4

This is a huge pain - currently with them from a similar deal last year, and was considering porting out and then back in for this.

      • I was with them a year ago, then with Catch for almost all this year, and it is accepting my number when I go to buy.

        • Me too, I was with them last year and then bought the Catch which is expiring next week, just bought this, Amaysim excepted for porting my number which was previously with them with no problem. $17.5 Cashreward. Works out to $82.5 for a year which is an insane deal.

    • Well that sux.
Was planning to buy this, but sounds like the deal won't work as I am a previous amaysim customer. Ported out in Aug.
Will try to buy on Friday and see what happens.

      • You can go up to the checkout screen to see if they let you do that. I just bought it with no problem.

  • So on cashback if you click through it only shows medium plans and I have to click "See All plans" to see the 1 year 180gb plan. Would I still get the cashback as I see the URL changes as soon as I do that, thinking if I will still be tracked for CB. Thx

  • Got this from the last deal and the phone service has been great. If you need 5g this is not the deal for you.

  • +1

Was just on the phone to "customer service" asking if I could somehow get the new $60/yr plan on my current number, once I explained that I would be switching to a different network if it was not possible she hung up on me.

  • Confirmed new services only

  • +1

Bought the $100 plan, $17.50 Cashback tracked instantly.

$6.80 for 15GB a month is pretty unreal.

    • Same!

  • I'm with amaysim at the moment and current plan runs out on 24th - anyway to take advantage of this offer with my existing number?

    • +2

You should have taken a Boost sim in the last month to port over and then port back to Amaysim.
You can still change to another provider and then come back to Amaysim.

  • Was able to create an account with an auto-generated password of over 15 characters. App won't let me type in more than 15 characters. Went online to change my password and the "current password" field doesn't let me enter more than 15 characters :/. Totally broken state.

Guess I can do a "I forgot my password" thing

  • +3

@tightarse, any hint if the cashback will increase to $35 like it did last year?

    • that sounds like something that he would do

  • +3

Kogan has just dropped it's 300gb 12 month plan for $145 or 500gb for $169 if you're looking for other options.

    • Do you know how long you have to use the kogan one tho?

  • “New customers only”

I have an account at amaysim portal, but currently do not have any service/plan with them. Do I qualify as a new customer?

    • I have another expired number on the portal. I ported with another number with $100 180GB with esim, no problem and get it done within 30mins all process.

  • +1

Can some please confirm if Amaysim supports wifi calling? I did get a yes from chat, however, no where on the website I could find any article related to it.

    • would like to know too, more specifically wifi-calling overseas?

      • +1

        yes in au, no overseas

  • Terrible experience with them so far. Ordered a SIM on 3rd Nov but still haven't received it. Contacted their support 4 times now and someone has sent the SIM again which will take another 3 business days…

    • Update if anyone is interested to know - still no SIM! It has been 22 days since I ordered the SIM.

  • +1

I'm with Amaysim and plan runs out 3rd December.

I've put my current number in the 'Transfer Number' section and it's letting me go through checkout for the discounted $60

    • Did you select the ‘I’m a new customer’ radio button on the following page? Whenever I try to select existing customer and login, it won’t allow me to proceed.

Just worried if I say I’m a new customer I’ll lose my current number.

      • I was already signed into Amaysim account so it didnt ask me that.

Just clicked on the $60 deal and it added it my cart

Looking at the deal text and T&C's - nothing explicitly about 'New Customer's Only'

        Promotion Period
Purchase between 9.00am (AEDT) on 21 November 2022 to 11.59pm (AEDT) on 25 November 2022 or while stocks lasts and activate by 15 December 2022.

        • This is what it is showing for me - https://i.imgur.com/NwVOdO4.png

Picks up all my account/address/payment details automatically.

Just not sure what happens about 'Transferring' a number that's already with them…

    • "We’ve noticed that the number you’re trying to bring over to amaysim x already exists in our database. Please input a different number if you want to transfer or pick a new number.
      "

    • Is the number you are transferring over originally from amaysim?

      • I am currently with Amaysim right now with that same number

        • So you didn't get this message, then?

"We’ve noticed that the number you’re trying to bring over to amaysim x already exists in our database. Please input a different number if you want to transfer or pick a new number.
          "

  • Is it worth waiting until 25th or will they run out.
Trying to hold as late as possible as Boost ends late Jan but this deal is worth swapping over.

    • +1

if you run the math, what are you actually saving? like half a dollar? I just executed for the peace of midn

      • Exactly. I transferred from Boost (still have a couple of months) to Amaysim because Boost doesn't offer roaming (said late year or early next year!?)
$82.5 for 180GB a year, I think its good idea to port early

        • same here… if I recharge with Boost, I need to pay $200.
Paid $50 (after cashback) for the 60GB/year, I didn't even think twice
also I waited for esim for quite some time
          I can finally use that

  • Cheapest / easiest way to port out and back in?

    • +8

Kogan $0 if phone supports eSim, $2 if not. Or $2 Telstra sim from Officeworks, you can port in and out of Telstra no credits required.

      • +2

Scanning comments for the winner, you're it. Thanks

    • May be choosing one month $2: Kogan

    • Depends how long you need to be out for, if it's 30 days then it won't work.

  • +2

@TA, can we buy 2 separate sims's and both will be eligible fro cashreward?

    • Want to know too, I want to buy a few 😀

  • +1

Can I choose now number now and decide to port in later (when I receive the sim)?

  • Terms and conditions say not to be used with an existing service.

So if someone ports out and then wants to activate, they should be able to.

Else Amaysim are breaching terms and conditions

  • I have 3 prepaids I want to use for this.

2 currently on Amaysim and 1 on Voda. I am going to port the 2 Amaysims to Voda with a $4 SIM from Coles today.

So can I order 3 new SIMs on this deal, and get CR for each one, then port all 3 onto the new Amaysim SIMs?

    Hmm

  • +2

$17.50 Cashback Confirmed. $6.80 per month is a great deal considering Intl Calls & 15 GB PM Data. No problems in logging in using an existing (Old A/C) to buy.

  • +21

May be worth waiting to see if someone offers increased cashback again this year.

Price after cashback currently Price after cashback last year
    $60 12-month 60GB $49.50 (60-10.50CB) $30 (60-30CB)
    $75 6-month 150GB $57.50 (75-17.50CB) $30 (75-45CB)
    $100 12-month 180GB^ / 165GB* $82.50 (100-17.50CB)^ $55 (100-45CB)*
    • This is where I'm stuck on what to do haha

      • Yeah, I'm really hesitant cos of last year's epic deal :/

        • Same, also waiting to see if Boost want to beat it!

  • Am I understanding what Live Chat is saying (I am looking to port over to amaysim)

This is pre activated so my number from my current provider will be transferred but I could be without service for 2 - 10 days?

    • +1

Wrong, only transfer when you activate the sim card, it starts from that day.

Pre-activated is for new number, but it could be wound back to the day you start using it via chat.

  • +4

Limited to one cashback per calendar month per Cashrewards account.

So don't expect CR for buying multiple SIMs!

    • SB will do it for the second SIM (if you have an account with them)!

  • +1

For those with the "We’ve noticed that the number you’re trying to bring over to amaysim x already exists in our database. Please input a different number if you want to transfer or pick a new number." error:

I had a SIM from years ago that I never activated on an account with a different email address. Live Chat eventually helped me log into that account and cancelled it for me, so I could sign up fresh with my number I wanted to port

  • Do these Amaysim plans support Wi-Fi Calling?

    • +1

On Google Pixel 6, it says it does. But I haven't tried it yet. First time with Amaysim here.

      • Thanks!

  • Damn amaysim had to announce deals so late but seems like there's issues from porting in from previous amaysim number sometimes?

  • Worth staying on my current $40/month for 80gb voda? Or $100 amaysim with $35cashback?

Can I change back to Vodafone after a few months of amaysim? Cheers

  • They’re allowing me to purchase using a number currently with Amaysim as the port in number…

Really not too sure I want to deal with the drama if this gets gnarly

    • +1

Yeah I noticed it will let me purchase with an exciting number to port in. Didn't complete though.

      • Me too, not worth the grief

  • Was juggling between the Kogan $90 plan https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…, the recent Coles $99 plan. I think this deal just beats the Coles plan as Amaysim provides 180Gb data and Coles only gives 120Gb.

    • For another $10 with Amaysim, you get the Optus network which is probably slightly better in the countryside or even out of Metro and overseas calling (useless to me). When I was driving early this year down the Great Ocean Road - Mrs. was on Telstra and me on Optus both direct, reception was pretty consistent throughout but I remembered about 12 months ago we did the same annual trip and both on Kogan (Voda) it dropped out altogether and had patchy reception anything outside Geelong.

  • I was last with Amaysim in June 2022. Was able to buy the 60G plan without any issues. Even used my old account login details. Looks like it's a case of lucky dip as to whether or not it will go thru. Cash back tracked almost immediately too.

  • Excellent value, especially the two 1 - year plans
