  • I am already on Boost. Can I use this to extend mine expiring in February?

    • Prob not, normally need to change to another carrier using a $2 sim then come back the next day

      • -1

What you get on the $2 sim when you port out?

        • Hmmm? It's just a sim to any carrier that isn't boost or telstra to join their network and at most, you get the $2 of credit to use. It's only so you can use the new customer sim deals to come back to boost for cheap deals

        • -1

          Nothing. You're missing the point.

        • +1

We have $2 optus, Lebara, Amaysim, Vodafone SIM. Please put a note if you need one when placing the order. Thanks.

          • @Lucky Mobile: Porting from Telstra shouldn't be an issue right?

            • +2

@Schrodinger: No issue, I've used a Telstra $2 Sim to port out and back into Boost twice now, in October and November. Both times the port took under 5 minutes each way.

        • +3

Most of the carriers need you to topup $10 credit to be able to activate the sim and port your number over. Cheapest is probably $5 Aldi sim.

          • @winaxter: Ive been port out/port in to boost for the last 3 or 4 years now and always just used $2 sim, never been an issue- maybe I got lucky with the provider?

            • @Kunny: Who have you used? Optus/vodafone both wanted me to put some money on

          • +1

@winaxter: Telstra $2 Sim works fine with no top-up required.

  • They don't have a cheap recharge plan anymore, will move away.

    • +1

Thinking about the same, but not sure what the options are to stay on the telstra network for better than this price.

      • +1

        • are they any good?

          • @derdew: Yes , my daughter had no problems with them and am currently looking for her to go back on a yearly plan

  • A SIM has an expiry date?

    • +3

Think of it as an "activate by" date.

  • Sim expires in 2026 which means max we need to port in before 11/04/2025 right?

If I buy now I shall activate in 2025

    • +3

Sim expires in 2026 which means max we need to port in before 11/04/2025 right?

Nope, you could port in a day before the expiry and you'll still get a full year recharge. So April 2026 to April 2027.

      • +3

Don't know why you've been downvoted for stating facts, there's some dummies on here..

  • FYI, I activated a couple of these last week. The online activation didn't work because Boost no longer offer the $230 sim on their site. I had to use the online chat to get them activated.

    • +3

Activated one just fine yesterday. Did let me know about the $230 plan being discontinued though.

  • Anyone successfully price match @ officeworks?

    • +1

I doubt if you'll find the $230 annual sim in stores anymore.
Edit: The smallest annual sims are now $300 from boost.

  • Do they refund if activation don't work?

  • Does this come with phone credit? Can't see it anywhere on the listing

    • 12 month expiry
      All for use within Aus

265GB on activation for new customers only, 240GB on next recharge. Activate by 10 March 2025.

      • Is the deal you're talking about different to this one? This one say 170 GB. So is this one with the same calls and text just different?

        • I didn’t actually check the contents - looks like the Boost page for it has been taken down and replaced by the $300 SIM.
All Boost plans include unlimited calls and texts.

  • Last weekend, I went to Mt. Kosciuszko. Along the route, I had connectivity most of the time, unlike the others who had Optus and Telstra (I know Boost uses Telstra), and they didn't even have 4G. I was very impressed with Boost.

    • Other than obvious telstra itself… boost and belong both have good coverage better than optus or voda

I was about to order then I saw that free shipping is included only if youre willing to forgo tracking

    • for me it says "domestic letter with tracking". is it good enough? was about to pull the trigger too

      • Yeah probably. (Just didn’t want to get into a She said/he said situation with Auspost). Thx. Pulled the trigger!

    • It's WITH tracking. Just not registered.

  • When does this sim need to start from and does it last a year right?
Can I set this up under myself as got daughter a phone and was thinking of getting this for her.

Had plans to use an Optus plan but one I’m not 100% sure my phone is unlocked and I’m sure boost will work on daughters phone as it shows up when I put sim in her phone.

Not only that I’m hearing optus is really bad around here so seems pointless to get it even if it’s a good deal for that optus one.

  • Did you guys order one did you use the free delivery and was it tracked how long did it take to arrive im in wa and want one before Friday next week should these not be with faster delivery for free.
Any current codes i believe they always have but not when I need to get one

  • Seems the 2x SIMs pack is still available to order, even though the single SIM pack is out of stock 🤔

Just ordered one, wonder what activation date they will come with.

  • +1

There's single packs available from cellpoint for $190

    • Nooooooo I should’ve googled before ordering :(

    • I ordered two 2x SIM pack (for the whole family) on the27th of December.
Have not heard anything from them yet.

Send them an SMS - will see if they reply and when they will reply. Used PayPal.

@Lucky Mobile - when will you post the sims and let me know the tracking number?

      • Same here, no update since the initial order email, and no link to check status.

  • I got an SMS and email update earlier today after my messages to them.

They said the sims will be posted tomorrow (31st of Dec) - provided the tracking number.in the email and SMS.

  • Long time lurker, first time poster.

Paid for the 2x pack on the 27th via Paypal. Received no email confirmation, and no response from SMS.I am beginning to think they aint coming….

Has anyone actually received them or received tracking details?

    • +1

Bought 1 on the 26th via Paypal.
Received confirmation and a tracking number ("received by Australia Post") on the 31st.
I'd say the delay is due to the public holidays maybe?

      • Yeah, it took me opening a case on Paypal for them to actually respond. I now expect them to arrive tomorrow.

  • I had communication and even due to time of year it came quick and arrived this morning and I’m in wa i am just curious what people are talking about when they mentioned 2 sim pack?
Also when these have dates of expire on them i assume this is when it needs to be made active by correct?
I plan to get it set up when I get back in 13 days.
This is for my daughters phone she got at Xmas as she is to young to have her own account I was told it would need to go under my name is this correct or should I say account?
I am currently on boost just renew a month or more in advance under the old price. And it just kicked in around Xmas day.
Been with boost probably 7 years or more can’t remember.
So what happens when you want to set this up on daughters phone as and as said it does not affect anything I already have.
Or do you tell them your setting up another phone which another account?
just needed info on it thanks

    • i am just curious what people are talking about when they mentioned 2 sim pack?

They sell a 2x SIM pack on their website for $390: https://luckymobile.com.au/mobile-plus/product/prepaid-2boos…

So same unit price as the single SIM when this sale was on, just that it was still in stock when the single SIM was out of stock.

      • Never knew anything like that was available so even though such plan are not around anymore from boost they are still ok?
Obviously myself and wife being boost and them putting prices up last year 2024 wife was only a few days out so it was just wise to purchase the recharge before it ended.
Even myself I was like a month out so I just got one as well and it kicked in when old expired so basically we did not have to pay booster higher price.
This year 2025 oct and dec when we both will be due again unless boost have very good promotions which is highly unlikely. And looks like we might need to port in and out again which we ain’t done before and do it that way. We have always done it the recharge way but no point next time.
These places that have these sims they just be all stock right and once gone they are gone and then no more cheaper boost deals correct?

I may have to look into this later in the year and get new sims prior to boost expiring so we get it for way less that’s if there are any,
I suspect people who are buying these deals are buying as there plans are coming to an end and it’s just cheaper.
I suppose myself and wife could have done this just last year and saved even more but just stuck with the recharge, but as the recharge is at a crazy cost now it will not happy later in 2025.
I never knew a sim had expire date but i assume that what sim deal you purchased on this one listed would be what you receive not what boost want to give you.
Not that this one listed in particular was for me or wife weI got this for my daughter

        • These SIM starter packs have an "must activate by" date. Once activated, the plan is valid for the next 365 days.

Basically this store got a bunch of these SIM packs before Boost discontinued them, and reselling them now since the "activate by" date is a long way in the future. Presumably Boost won't retroactively invalidate SIM packs that they've already sold when they discontinue a plan (that would be a customer service nightmare for them I guess), so you can buy these and hold on to them until you're ready to activate (and do the port-out/port-in dance if you're already on Boost).

          • @cynix: That’s interesting I wonder how long these will be available for I mean any of these sims with dates.
It be good to get a couple for myself and wife to use in oct and dec 2925.

I know nothing about the port in and out as never done it only recharge each time but obviously later this year I will not be doing this as recharge is to expensive now.

            • @bwatt72: I prefer my wife and i to be on different networks - so we buy two new (discounted) SIMs each year, and swap providers

  • are you restocking more of the 2026 expiry sims

  • Ordered 1 SIM pack on Boxing Day.
Received the tracking number for “Domestic letter with tracking” by Australia Post.
Received the SIM pack in my mail box today.

  • No tax invoice included, emailed request for tax invoice to the gmail listed on their website, but no response.
ABN is listed on their website LUCKY MOBILE AU PTY LTD 2023 ABN 80 651 303 230
