They must have known you were about to post as they failed to post any real information in the title.

      • I didn't have much info in my post either. Should say that it starts tomorrow and ends Monday though.

        • Expiry, that is was a SIM card, how many GB was included.

          • @appxl: My title was like this one. Body was pretty empty.

  • -6

Can we join membership, buy the card and cancel the membership ? Will I get full refund ?

    • why would you want to do that?

      • -3

        Save $60 duh

    • -1

Yes u sure can do that they have a 100% satisfaction garantee .. better to join and use it for 10 months or so then cancel and get refund so u get max use

cannot be an existing vodafone user right?

    • Want to know this as well…

    • +1

New users. If you are with them, port out to Felix for free, then to this. You're now a new customer :)

      • How long do I need to wait before I port back in?

        • +1

I ended up using the 30 fee days, but you can port back in the next day, I've done that also and it works fine.

  • +3

    Damn, this is best find!

  • Can I order online?

  • +5

    instore only

  • +1

    5G?

    • +1

yes in their very limited 5g footprint

    • +1

Yes, they have 5G open to all their Vodafone branded SIM's (obviously 5G has limited coverage for now).

    • Their 5G was slower than boost 4G. I was getting H+ sometimes.

      • +3

I can't can 5G on Boost (Telstra) in Burnley, along the Yarra, just a few k's from the CBD and it drops back to H+ out in the open air.
it wasn't even fast enough for streaming when I went jogging.
Everyone has a story of bad coverage.
I just switched back to Voda and it's working perfectly again.

  • +1

what's the sim expiry? at least a year from now I hope

    • +1

I want to know too. Need a sim 3 months later. Good deal

    • +1

12 months for Vodafone prepaid SIM's

  • +2

    240gb,great deal

  • +1

Can you buy now and activate after 3 months
My plan expires after 3 months

    • i'd like to know this too. My Coles mobile runs out in March.

    • You've got 12 months to activate it.

      • Wow really

        • +1

Yeah I always have a 12 month Voda SIM ready to go for when my current one expires. States 12 months on the packet also.

          • @SimAus007: hmm, how do they know you bought it on a certain date? assuming its tagged when its scanned by the store?

            • +5

@BaeSuzy: When you buy the SIM card, you get 2 receipts, one is your regular receipt, and the other one is to validate the SIM card.
The validation receipt is after they scan the unique barcode for that SIM, which… A starts the 12-month period, and B, confirms it's not a stolen card.
PS: hold onto the validation receipt, the other one is not important.

              • @SimAus007: thanks man!

              • @SimAus007: Hmm I don't get the validation receipts. What do I do ?

              • @SimAus007: Do you need the validation receipt? as my dad purchased and not sure that he recieved one

                • @Theek: You only need the validation receipt if for some reason it won't activate, ie, appears as an unpaid card.
Same applies to all prepaid SIM cards.

  • +1

Can you be on an existing Voda plan and still get this?

    • +3

you'll need to port out and then back again

  • Vodafone have data rollover?

  • +2

Right after i purchased the Boost/Telstra version for $250 😅.

    • Honestly I’d prefer that lol

      • -1

Yeah Telstra is the most reliable ive found, especially for regional travel.

        • +3

I'm a SIM slut and honestly haven't found any difference in metro Sydney. The same blackspots on the train apply on all carriers too

    • you have done yourself a favour buying the boost service.

      • -2

Yeah I happily pay more for Boost after experiencing Vodafone's service.

  • +1

Can you port from Kogan to Vodafone? or does Kogan count as Vodafone?

    • +2

You can port from any other brand, whether it's on Voda network or not, you'll be considered a new customer of Vodafone.

  • Anyone knows how much S21 FE would be on the catalogue, it is not specified.

    • 128GB is $579, 256GB is $679. Says both are $370 off of their regular price.

      • This is online price, in-store often lower

        • Do you know how much they are?

  • Not well-versed with current state of mobile networks in Australia. I know that Telstra or Boost would have better coverage and reliability than Vodafone, but how about other similarly priced MVNO's such as More Telecom (recent deal), Aldi Mobile or Woolies Mobile? Does Vodafone compare well to these?

    Thanks for any advice!

    • Ymmv depending on your location
      Telstra usually provides best coverage

  • Do these support number share? Hoping to use on Apple Watch Cellular

    • +1

No. No prepaid does in Australia, yet.

  • +1

    Wow great deal

  • +5

Supports 5G, eSim, WifiCalling, VoLTE as well as NSA 5G mode if you are using a supported Samsung phone !
Have international roaming packs as well, but roaming works without any packs for receiving incoming SMS

Cons: Coverage outside of metro post codes, No support for WiFi calling when overseas

    • Thanks for the details.
Which provider has support for WiFi calling when overseas?

      • +2

For prepaid - Telstra, Optus and Boost

    • +1

Do you have a list of countries that are part of that 1200 mins?

      • Hi mate, International calls are to Zone 1 countries.

This can be found on the Vodafone website.

These countries are Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, the United States of America and the Vatican (Holy See).

  • what for kogan mobile user, still need port out and port in?

  • Beware. I just spent one year with them, never again. In my experience, there's spot in East Coburg and Reservoir that don't get reception. And reception in areas of Darwin was also very poor.

  • Boost has definitely the best reception where I live (Melbourne western suburbs) but Voda is pretty bad. No reception in the shopping centre too which is bad. Have to weigh the cost vs reception.

  • How come this starter pack isn’t on the Vodafone website?

    • +3

      Its a Costco exclusive !!

  • Anyone have bought previously and if the starter back is un-opened, can return and rebuy at the lower price ?

    • Yes, you can.

      • Returned the starter pack back in store ?

        • I want to know this too.

        • I've returned an unopened gift card without any hassle. You can return it as long as it's unopened and purchased not long ago.

  • Is the '1200 International mins to selected destinations' only for Zone1 countries? I tried looking at Costco website but there's no information there.

    • +1

Yes. 1,200 standard international mins to Zone 1 countries.

      • Whatever happened to the good old days when VF allowed international calls to all countries?

It was like 300 minutes per month.

        • +1

Hi mate, you can get unlimited international calls to selected countries on the $30-$60 prepaid plus plans.

  • Can Cashrewards or Shopback get this ?

    • No I don't think so because this is through costco ☹️

  • Good deal. Why didn't this offer come earlier?
    I'm already using boost.

    • Isn't boost coverage supposed to be better? Why change?

      • +3

Because for some, like me, Vodafone has better coverage where I use my phone (different for everyone)
Also, this is much much cheaper, a great time to save dollars given inflation.
For many that live in a cap city and don't frequent regional areas, a lot wouldn't notice the difference in coverage (that is also me and I was with Boost until recently).
Of course, if you live in a regional area, this probably isn't for you, which goes without saying.

      • +1

Several telecommunications providers I have used, I live in the region and my activities are in the metropolis, so there is no signal worry problem, for people in the same situation as me, cheap may be the most suitable for comparison.

  • Looking for a new plan for my son…. Was going to pick moose mobile as their apps allows me to kill his mobile data on his phone remotely… Anyone now if the Vodafone app can also do this?

    • +1

Having a look at their app, being a VF customer, I can't see an option to pause data.

$99 is a very good price.

    • +1

I had moose mobile. Apparently you can not turn data on and off too often.
(Like every night/morning). At some point it stops working and they need 3-4 days to reset it.

    • Try Kogan…..same network. They have the option to use all of your data in one go or limit it per month. ESIM alo available . And if your child loves data $165 for 500GB …..

  • Couldn’t find it

    • Where abouts mate?

    • It’s got a different packet in store, still scans up as $100,

  • Can we get E Sim?

    • yep esim on all vodafone sims, use my vf or go into a vf store to swap it

  • Got one, thanks OP!

  • All gone at costco moorabbin

  • Just got one at Adelaide, only about ten left on the gift card stand. Thanks OP!

    • Interesting. Adelaide has 160 units yesterday, maybe they have some out the back not on the stand.
