  • Costco Epping had some about 20 minutes ago

  • great deal, pretty bummed i dont have a Costco membership for this one. wonder if this will come out as a general public deal at any point.

    • +1

Don't bother, was told all gone in the first minute, so not even available for most members

      • Which store was that at?
All stores had minimum 150 units on hand as at COB yesterday so it’s strange for them to have sold out after 1 minute this morning.

        • costco moorabbin, was there around 10:30am, told by staff all gone in the first minute

  • -1

    Sold out Adelaide

    • +1

      Heaps left at 4pm.

  • Costco Moorabbin sold out in 1 minute. Any other similar deals floating around?

  • +1

    Heaps left at Costco Ipswich

  • At Costco Lidcombe, only see Vodafone $250 starter pack. Is it the same thing?

    • +1

      Yes. Bought 2 this morning.

    • It is the same thing! like 20 left.

      • I receive one receipt. Did you receive 2 like what mentioned above?

        • Only got one receipt. I had to go back to Costco do what @grizzly07 posted down below to make it activatable.

Once purchased from the cashier, make sure you go to the "Merchandise Pick Up" area and look for their supervisors in red vest to do the validation process before you head home. These supervisors will then enter your "gift card" number into their system and once they're green in the system, you will then be able to activate it as per normal.

          • @sekaisan: was it not activatable before? what exactly happened when you tried to activate it from your end? did it not recognize the SIM?

  • Costco in Perth sold out . Save your time or else get Apple strudel or mie goreng to sooth yourself from disappointment

  • Does anyone have issue activating it?
I am seeing the following error using online service:

Sorry, we can't activate your service right now. Please try again later or call us on 1555 from your Vodafone mobile or on any other phone 1300 650 410.

Called Vodafone, they said if the prepaid sim is purchased not in the Vodafone store, it might take 24 hours so that Vodafone system knows this card is sold and mark it activatble.

  • Costco Docklands had heaps

  • Costco Perth sold out 1 minute after they officially opened at 10am. Turns out store allowed people in at 9:45am and by 10:01 when i entered they had all gone. Staff told me people were grabbing hand fulls of them. Asked if they had any other stock around back. They checked but none. Was after one for the missus but missed out. If anyone has spare please PM and happy to buy off them

    • Probably scalpers

      • Yeah I reckon. I have noticed though that the Perth Costco store in general never really has that much stock set aside or ordered in for these specials.

    • I wish I'd seen this message before I went there today.

  • Any left in Ringwood?

    • Nope :-(

  • Thank you for posting, my friend was able to get one for me. Currently with Kogan who are offering $99 for 100GB so this is much better value

  • +1

Got one at Adelaide at 4pm. There're 20-30 left at the time.

    • +1

Thanks mate I got mine thanks to your comment

  • Whereabout would I find this at Costco? Would it be near the cashiers or every store is different? Would prefer not to roam around, especially on the Black Friday (Covid nest) and just go to where it'll be.

  • is there an activation period, like do I have to activate it within 2 weeks of purchasing it? Or can I let it sit there for awhile and then activate it

    • The pack says it expires 365 days after purchase.

  • +1

Does anyone know how to activate this 240G data and call plan? I bought the starter pack but when activating it on the Vodafone website, there is only $250 Prepaid Plus plan available which only includes 150G data

    • I am confused too as the internal package is for $250 starter pack.

    • The bonus inclusions will be applied within 72 hours of activating.

    • +1

The bonus inclusions are applied within 72 hours of activating.

      Bonus data = 90GB
      Base data = 150GB
      Total data = 240GB

Your 1,200 International mins will also be applied.

      • Is it $199 or $250 starter pack one needs to buy as I only say $250?

        • +1

          It is $250 Starter Pack.

        • +2

It’s a $250 SIM that is normally $199.99 RRP at Costco and comes with a bonus 90GB and 1,200 international mins to zone 1 countries.
Then it is discounted further down to $99.99 for this Black Friday weekend period.

  • for vodafone prepaid if you use up all your allocated data 240GB will it be shaped and slow down to 1.5mbps and still work?

  • Still some left at Costco Adelaide (10+). I bought 2 just now

  • Some left at Masden Park Costco at 1030 this morning. It is the $250 starter pack. The cashier seems to struggle a bit in manually entering the sim card serial number to the computer system.

  • +1

Plenty of stock @ Costco Casula. Once purchased from the cashier, make sure you go to the "Merchandise Pick Up" area and look for their supervisors in red vest to do the validation process before you head home. These supervisors will then enter your "gift card" number into their system and once they're green in the system, you will then be able to activate it as per normal.

    • Do you mean if we don't do this validation, then we won't be able to activate the sim ?

      • +1

So what happened was, @ Costco Casula I asked the cashier that we will get 2 receipt, right? Validation receipt and the Invoice receipt as per this comment. She said no and that I will only get 1 receipt, which is just the Invoice receipt, however she said for me to go to this "Merchandise Pick Up" area (again I believe this is specific to Costco Casula) and look for their supervisors. I vaguely remember but I believe I asked her exactly what are we doing here? She then explained that we're "activating" which I don't believe "activate" is the right word as she is entering the number at the back of this Vodafone prepaid into their Costco system, which is pure text-based and if they don't do this "activation", I wouldn't be able to activate it at home.

        • It will be interesting to know how many people are buying without validating them, ljke myself who has no idea.

          • @yht: I thought exactly what you have on mind as there was no instructions whatsoever in where the prepaid cards and gift cards were hung. And I don't even know if the cashier would have told me to go and see the supervisor had I not asked the question.

  • Anyone know if there's any left at North Lakes (QLD)?

    • give the store a call

    • Yes see my comment below

      • +1

I ended up going in. Lots left, maybe noone cares about it!

  • +1

Not sure what all this fluff about getting 2 receipts but I only received one. And surprisingly plenty left, wasn’t expecting there to be any going by comments on here

  • +1

None left at Costco Docklands - 26/11/22 3:30pm

  • All gone at Casula NSW

    • no way; you serious?

  • Plenty at Costco NorthLakes. Located at entrance near phones where all gift cards are. More than 25 available at 4:30pm on 26/11. After purchase someone one red vest as mentioned above was verifying if the cards were activated again in their internal system.

  • Has anyone activate the sim successfully but only 1 receipt provided ? I am not activating it as yet until few months later.

    • Hi mate, I wouldn't suggest waiting many months to activate as you might not get the bonus 90GB Data + 1,200 International mins.
The SIM can be activated within 1 year of purchase, but the inclusions may change in the meantime.

  • Costco staff need to register the SIM in a 2nd system otherwise the card provider won’t recognise that it has been sold. SIMs are treated like Gift cards, but the Costco point of sale terminal doesn’t do that automatically, like it would at say Woolworths or Coles.
So yes, staff should direct you to do another step/ with a receipt, to get the SIM registered.
Due to Black Friday madness some staff may be forgetting to do it.

    • Mine entered the Sim serial number at the POS, and told me that was fine. Although I have to go back there as it isn't activated as there was no step 2 and they entered the serial number incorrectly. Ugh!

      • +1

Hi mate, definitely an error there by the staff unfortunately. They’ve been selling this product for 14 months, it isn’t a new process.

        Which store was that at?

        • Hi mate, Costco Perth didn't know that we need a second step even though specifically asked for. Who do we need to see there to get it validated please ? I don't want to waste more time by going there and no one knows. Any specific name please ? Thanks

          • @yht: Hey @yht, unsure mate I’d prob suggest try calling the Costco store and asking them directly.

Basically if you’re trying to activate the vodafone sim via the vodafone activation site and it doesn’t work, that means the Costco steps haven’t been completed. They need to let Blackhawk (the company that codes gift cards/SIMs) know, aka registering the SIM at time of sale for.

Once that happens then you’ve got 365 days to “activate” aka sign up to your vodafone prepaid plan.

            • @JohnnoT6: You should be able to do it over the phone with that Costco store. As to my knowledge they just input the long barcode serial number on the bottom of the back of the pack.

        • Adelaide :)

    • +1

In the Marsden Park store they enter the serial code of the sim at the cashier and it is printed on the receipt, I have double check with the red vest guy and he can see the sim card are Active in their backend system. So no second receipt and hope it is all fine. I will start using them mid next year.

      • Hopefully you are right. I got my friend to buy for me and and his receipt shows the serial number.

waiting for someone with 1 receipt with serial number to activate and provide feedback?

      • +1

My friend called Costco and they admitted there was some activation error but it has been fixed now. I would suggest you to call Costco too.

  • Any left at Marsden park or Auburn?

    • None left at Auburn yesterday.

    • Yes Marsden Park 6pm yesterday

      • Still more than 10 left in Marsden Park store as of now. I just picked one.

        • Still left at Marsden Park. picked up one around 2pm

  • Nothing at Ipswich

  • All gone as of 5pm 27 Nov at Casula

  • Is the 240gb open over the 12 months or is it divided across the 12 months (20gb per month)?

    • +1

available 240Gb for 12 months and not divided into per month.

  • Any stock left at Costco NEWCASTLE (Boolaroo), NSW?

    Thanks!

  • None in Canberra :-(

  • Any stock in Adelaide?

    • I just contacted them. They said they’ve sold out.

  • does anyone know where to download full details about this Vodafone Costco such as roaming and international destinations? can't find this on Vodafone site.

    • It's a regular Vodafone prepaid sim as far as I know.

    • +2

International calls are to Zone 1 countries.

This can be found on the Vodafone website.

These countries are Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, the United States of America and the Vatican (Holy See).

  • Still at least 20 available at North Lakes around 5:15pm today.

  • Can these be returned? I think I'm gonna go with boost. I was only given one receipt at POS not a second "validation receipt" either.

    • +1

Yes if you’ve not activated to the vodafone network you can return.

  • Anybody activated theirs yet? Any issues?

    • +1

I bought a few of these for family members. I received an error when I attempted to activate the 1st SIM. I then tried a 2nd SIM and received the same error.
On calling Vodafone support, I'm told it's a "sales info error" meaning they were not scanned at point of sale. I can tell you at Costco Auburn they absolutely were scanned!

Support told me to take my Costco receipt and SIMs into a Vodafone retail store to get it sorted out.

      Not a good start Vodafone!

      • Hi mate, this is an error due to Costco not registering the sale of the SIM cards correctly. They need to register the SIMs so Vodafone know they’ve been sold.
A Vodafone store won’t be able to help.

Send me a DM and I can have someone look into for you. Cheers
