Low price on this affordable Android tablet that offers good specs for the price and the bundles with a case, keyboard etc. have been reduced in price as well.

Featuring stock Android 11 with Google Play, 10.4" 2000x1200 IPS display, 4GB RAM, 64GB Storage (microSD support), UNISOC T610 Octa-Core CPU, 6000mAh battery, Dual SIM 4G LTE with B28, 5MP Front/Rear Camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, dual speakers and USB-C.

For reviews I recommend ETA Prime's video that shows it in action. The ROM performance is smooth, the display looks good and it handles modern and emulated games quite well for the price. The only real downsides in my opinion is the lack of Widevine L1 DRM for Amazon/Netflix HD and it won't get updates past Android 11.

  • Pity Windvine is SD only, pretty solid device for the price otherwise.

  • Tempted just for reading magazines on the Libby app, and Udemy courses. Currently using a Samsung windows tablet and the user experience is not great.
Don't mind SD quality for prime/Netflix as may use data over 4G.
Is this the best option for this use case?

    • +2

Yeah this will do it fine.

  • If I just want a device to type documents on the go, will this suffice? Can it do excel/Google sheet? I'm not sure how excel works in the android space, especially nowadays.

    • +2

This would be suitable. The Microsoft Office apps are free to download for Android, however some of the more advanced features will require a Microsoft 365 subscription. Otherwise there are other free office apps for Android.

      • Thank you! I've got the bundle. But out of curiosity, in the event that the keyboard isn't very good, is there any suggestions for keyboard cases, or just good scissor switch keyboards in general? I'm very used to my laptop's fantastic keyboard.

  • +2

    Thanks Clear.

I understand you follow these Chinese tablets, what ones do you rate at the moment, say in the 0-$200, $200-$300 and $400 and above brackets. Or maybe there is some killer value tablet about to be released shortly.

    • +97

I'd rate this one as being the best lowest tablet. If you're wanting another budget tablet that has Widevine L1 I'd recommend the Lenovo Tab P11 for ~$240. Next up from there is the Teclast T40 Pro for ~$260 that offers good specs for the price, but like Alldocube there's no Widevine L1.

For around the $300 bracket I think the Lenovo XiaoXin Plus for ~$303 is a great choice and better than the Lenovo XiaoXin Pad Pro 2020 in my opinion.

For high end Chinese tablets I recommend the Xiaomi Pad 5 for ~$475 and I'd argue it's better than the Lenovo XiaoXin Pad Pro 2021 simply because the Lenovo has a low tier pentile OLED display and their track record of updates is worse than Xiaomi.

I ended up with a Blackview Tab 11 myself due to a low introductory price that I can't see being repeated for quite a while. It's on par with the Alldocube iPlay 40 (not as good as Teclast T40 Pro) but the only downside is that Unisoc haven't been whitelisted by Netflix so there's no HD despite being Widevine L1. Blackview ended up releasing the Tab 10 Pro with a MediaTek CPU to get around the issue.

As for what I'm looking forward to in the future? The Lenovo Legion Y700 8.8" gaming tablet that might get an international release. Currently it only has a Chinese ROM with no Google Play.

Such a good reply. Always so informative. Thanks Clear!
Edit: I noticed that the Lenovo P11 you linked above is now $227.58 at bang good as a flash deal.

        • Q: the page linked says this in red: Attention:This model is not Global Rom,is third-party rom and suppoort google play store and multi languages. It doesnt support Widevine L1 and ota update os. Does it mean, it does not support Netflix in HD ?

      • Might consider oppo pad of the budget is about $400. Not sure if there would be global version but the specs are appealing.

        • +2

I knew I was forgetting one. The specs on that one are really good and rivals the Xiaomi Pad Pro 5. Unfortunately the price at the moment is high with it being around $620 AU on Giztop.

      • Thanks for all the details mate.
Which of these tablets has a decent pen experience that you recommend?
Kid is still in early years and would like to cut on paper for alphabet practice.

        • +2

They'd all work with a normal basic stylus. For an active stylus you'll want a Lenovo tablet out of the tablets I've listed. They have a few different ones like the Active Pen and Precision Pen.

The AU 128GB version of the P11 Pro has been sold with one bundled at Costco and JB, albeit for a much higher price. You'd probably be better off getting the tablet and stylus separately or waiting for a Costco/JB sale to get local warranty.

      • +3

I bought the Lenovo Tab P11 and installed netflix app manually. The HD 1080p streaming is perfect.

      • Wow thanks for the informative reply. I'll either buy Alldocube kPad Tablet or Lenovo Tab P11 for my 17 month old who HAS to watch Cocomelon while eating. Which one would you pick?

        • +3

In terms of performance the Snapdragon 662 is better than the T610 by about 10% so the performance difference isn't a huge leap. With the P11 you will get better build quality, larger battery (with fast charge), Dolby Atmos speakers and Widevine L1 for Netflix HD/Amazon.

If HD Netflix isn't essential I'd probably go for the kPad being much cheaper for a 17 month old.

          • @Clear: Would this tablet be suitable for Kindle/ebook reading? As in display quality/brightness etc.? TIA

            • +1

@Chippy47: Shouldn't be an issue with the kPad. The Youtube review in the post shows you the display and I think it looks good.

      • +7

I also want to show some <3 for Clear. Keep up the good work for the community.

        • 😘😘

      • I was glad to see Xiaomi paused their Android 12 rollout on the Pad 5 in favour of reworking the entire thing with Android 12L. While removing an update is usually a bad thing, they seem pretty committed to actually delivering a good experience. I figure I'll pick up one of those this year for a bit of reading/movies in bed.

Lenovo have only done that for the P12 Pro (Pad Pro 12.6) which seems pretty pricey compared to anything else around.

        • +3

It's good to hear that Google are taking Android for tablets a bit more serious. Especially when Google Play will soon show apps that are 'high quality' for tablets as many are just an oversized version of the mobile app.

The Tab P12 Pro has just received the 12L Beta 3 but that's the unstable release and not the final beta sadly. The other issue is that it'll brick the Chinese devices since they run ZUI.

      • Hi Clear, I have a question about tabs that do not have Widevine. If I cast from say the Teclast T40 or iplay 40 or on chromecast or google TV, would the 1080 or 4K from these devices take over? Also I am looking for a tablet medium to high end on the chinese android tabs (not ipad pro or galaxy) with 4G. What do you think is best $250 -450

        • +1

I believe it should have the resolution of the tablet on the Chromecast. Widevine is just DRM for Netflix and other streaming services.

      • Do you have similar recommendations for windows based tablets?

        • The Chinese Windows tablets aren't affordable now that Microsoft and Intel are no longer subsidising hardware/software. Normally better o grab a Surface or similar.

  • Avoid Alldocube.
Purchased a iplay 20 pro, battery fluctuates. It got to the point where it's fully charged and it dies upon loading a YouTube clip.

    • I have had my alldocube iplay 20 pro since october 2020 and the battery is still ok.

    • You got a dud. Had my iPlay 20 Pro for over a year and it's good as new

    • Why do we have a community so toxic that genuine comments get negged?
And why do we have a system whereby as soon as a comment receives a couple of negs it gets hidden (censored)?

      • +2

Member is providing a feedback on an unrelated item, and one occurrence. That comment is irrelevant hence the neg. If the community agrees the comment doesn't add value, then it is justified it is hidden through that mechanism.
Don't see anything toxic about it.

    • +1

You can always try replacing the battery. Use a plastic pry tool to separate the back plate from the frame and order the battery model from ali/ebay

    • How long did it (battery issue) take to get to that point?
The item posted has a 75 day return policy.

    • Their quality control sucks as always.
All these cheap brands, not just cube.

  • +3

I have the Aldocube iplay 40. Bought last year. Pretty fast and stable. Only complaint is despite having 4 speakers the sound is very tinny, lacking any bass. Otherwise great screen. Very light. Great for reading manga.

    • I have also had mine for 6months, sound isn't that great, screen is excellent.
I also run 3 user profiles, 2 adult 1 child, which I think slows the performance down on the device.
For the price still worth it.

  • +1

I have the Blackview Tab 11 from the Ozbargain deal on Aliexpress late last year, it has a similar CPU and screen resolution.
The Unisoc T618 is responsive and the tablet doesnt get hot, 2k screen is bright and easy on my eyes.
It has a great screen, battery, speakers for the price - 8GB RAM is nice also.
It weighs more than they advertise.

  • Hey @clear do you know if the Keyboard in the bundle attaches or is it just a cheap BT one?

    • Just a cheap Bluetooth one.

      • Thought so, cheers.

  • Any thoughts or concerns with P11 only getting updates until end of this year of early next year? I looked but couldn't see any others ROMs for it (like lineageos etc.) to continue to get updates and security patches once Lenovo stops.

  • Hey Op how does it compare with the Amazon hd 10 2021? You can get one via third party for about $190. Wouldn't it a better option as it will play netflix/prime etc in Hd? Thanks

  • Any concerns using this as an always on, always powered device for home automation and wall mounting?

    • Shouldn't be any issues with that. I have a similar Android tablet that I use as a second monitor for my laptop/PC plugged in allt he time.

    • Very similar to Teclast above but cheaper. Must be almost the same device.

    • Also a very good tablet. I'd say that one or the Alldocube iPlay 40 is the next level up. The Teclast T40 Pro is a sidegrade to both.

  • I haven't gone android tablet since nexus. How is this compared to ipad 2018? Mine is getting a bit slow

    • You're better off getting a cheap Samsung Tablet like the S7

      • Cheap?
The cheapest Tab S7 I could see is $798

        • S7 fe was as low as 499 during binglee sale.

          • @xoom: Yes, different model though with a weaker cpu than the S7.
Although, looking at the benchmarks, it is still a better CPU than the Unisoc T618 (but 2x the price).

The "FE" models in the phones seem to have high spec CPU, but not so in the FE tablets.

Here is a comparison of them:
            https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare-tablets/blackview-tab-11,…

            • @repeat: True but cant seem to justify a $300 difference between the two.

The 2x the price you get updates galore with samsung.

Netflix in fhd whereas the t618 is sd only. Unless unisoc can get whitelisted by netflix which is looking unlikely.

              • @xoom: Samsung S7 FE you get Dex as well…

                • @repeat: That too. To me thats worth it.

        • S7 Lite is $199 3GB/64GB

          • @[Deactivated]: Did you mean the Samsung tab a7 lite?
That one looks very slow and would be frustrating with that cpu/screen and 32gb of storage.
The alldocube in this deal is twice as fast, better screen, $40 cheaper to boot.

            https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare-tablets/alldocube-kpad,sa…

            • @repeat: It's good enough for browsing and YouTube/Netflix. None are suitable for games. The Alldocube iPlay 20 Pro with 6GB of ram can't play King Golf from the Google Play store - lag is too bad. My lowly Nokia XR20 phone plays it fine. Specs can be deceiving.

    • The Tiger T618 in the blackview Tab 11 has been great, nice and responsive for a cheap-midrange spec.
The tab in this deal would be similar, although it has 4GB compared with the 8GB in the Blackview.

  • Hi guys, how is this tablet? Specs looks quite impressive for the price https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003630546763.html?spm=a2…

    • Look, the further you go from "established" tablet makers the more likely they are gonna be garbage, both low quality hardware and buggy software.

Unless you can very easily find review videos for a tablet then don't risk it. Especially since the first question on the listing says it's shit. Just go with Clear's list, he's been flogging tablets since 2017

    • Unbranded junk with fake specs.

    • Looks strange, slow P60 cpu and Android 10. I'd stay away.
The real Teclast M40 Pro has Unisoc T618 and Android 11.

  • Looks I waited too long, one of the discount is gone

  • can this be upgraded to android 12?

    • Doubt it. There's only been 1 firmware update since release and they typically don't go past the version they're on unless someone makes a port.

      • thanks! would be nice if it comes with android 12 by default. But the price is good.

        ETA 30th April…ugh.

        • Placed an order yesterday late evening, got email it was shipped just now.
Surely it won't take 5-6 weeks

          • +1

@ShouldIBuyIt: I don't beleive it's shipped until it arrives at my door.

            • @Nalar: Its like that with banggood. Unless you got it in your hot little hands it dont mean jack that they tell you its shipped.

  • Who bought tempered glass protector for this? Mine is getting bubbles on the edges. Is it because the surface is uneven? Or I stuffed up applying it? I initially skipped the two wipes because I just took off the pre-applied plastic protector so I knew it was clean, but maybe it's a static thing and those help?

BTW, trying to squeeze the bubbles isn't working.

    • Just received mine. Was going to apply the tempered screen protector, and while cleaning up the glass first, I noticed there was already a screen protector applied. Probably not a glass one though but will keep it for now.

I guess you applied the tempered screen protector on that plastic screen protector, hence the bubbles.

Btw, I'm not talking about the plastic protector with the brand on it. There is a second one underneath.

      • No, I also took out the plastic screen protector.
I bought another tempered glass one and cleaned it properly but still get bubbles on the edges. I'm thinking the edges aren't fully flat.

        • Ah that sucks. Gonna stick with the pre-applied one myself for now.

  • Hmm, I don't want to be paranoid, but I just set up the tablet and noticed the time was 2 hours behind.
Then looked at the settings and it is set up as " use network provided time zone" and it's currently GMT+8 CHINA

    Anyone else noticed it?

    • +1

Nothing to be worried about. The tablet and system image is created in China so it's natural for the timezone to China as well. Factory reset and stick an antivirus scanner on there if you're paranoid.

  • I received mine today, the Lenovo P11 i bought a day before this still has only departed from country of origin yesterday, I'd say it might take a couple of weeks more.

I set this one for my little one, for some reason, it seems the microphone keeps cutting off while chatting. Hope it was just the internet issues but the sound was up and down. Both via duo and messenger. Anyone else noticed the same ?

  • Hey @clear, is this still a good deal at its current price? Just looking for a tablet to have as a second screen type setup for emails and browsing.

    • Yep it's only a couple of dollars more now so still an excellent deal.

  • Is this a good and speedy tablet?
Looking to get it for primary school kid minecraft reading eggs etc…

    Does it lag long term?
