  • Any idea when u need to activate?

    • SIM cards must be activated within 30 days of purchase

    • +1

30 days for CB to be eligible. Otherwise, CB will be rejected.

    • +1

Amaysim sim cards are always pre-activated when sent out.

      • +2

You should verify your identity after you receive the sim.

        • correct and very important

  • seems like we have to activate it upon checkout? it is asking for a new number or transfer old number?

    • +4

For new number, it comes pre-activated and the plan will re-set upon your first use. For transfer in of old number, you activate after you receive your new SIM.

      • so for old number we have to wait until the card arrived to activate which can be a few days? bad timing, have to renew my Kogan on the 3rd before they stop my service from receiving SMS :(

        • +1

You can also chose to activate before you receive the SIM.

          • @F1ngolf: Do you need to call support to manually do this for you?

            • +1

@ilovefullprice: In most cases, I activate and port my old number online AFTER I receive the SIM. I've activated and ported my old number online BEFORE I receive the SIM WHEN the function is available on my Amaysim account.

I'd presume you could call CS to do manual activation/porting even I've not done that before.

      • For old number will they start porting process after checking out? I have my current plan active till next month so don't want that to happen

        • same here and will like to know

          • @marc171: Well upon further thought I think not as they're not asking for any pin or code from other provider. If they start porting then anyone can just give someone else's number and for them to be suddenly ported out lol

            • +1

@sub102: I already provided the answer. Some ppl just don't bother to read.

              • @F1ngolf: Is activating and porting the same thing?

      • +1

If you do not verify your identity straight after you checkout then the sim will not arrive pre-activated. I have purchased many sims (with new numbers) from Amaysim and never verified my identity until just before I have wanted to use the sim. The sim will then activate when I start using it.

Should mention the code is EAY6X9 is Shopback

I've just signed up for a new number.

Remember to change payment method to BPAY to avoid being recharged automatically.

    • Sorry but can you explain how you can use BPAY like that? I thought the service was primarily used for businesses and such

    • So if you change to bpay, when the plan end after 28 days, will it cancel automatically if I didn't pay the bpay amount?

      • +1

No it will be a few months before the number and service get canceled

        • Thanks, in that case, best to cancel the service. Did you cancel the automatic renewal after a few days of using the service and got the cashback?

  • +2

Is there a "one per month" rule with Amaysim and Shopback cash back?
I think I read that last time but can't find reference to it now

    • +3

Hey mate, there is a one per month rule - it's listed on our Do's & Don'ts :)

Cashback is eligible for new and existing amaysim customers purchasing a new SIM and limited to one cashback per month per Shopback account.

      Cheers!

      • +1

Excellent - thanks for letting us know
BTW is that per calendar month ?

        • +2

Oooh good question, let me get confirmation on this & I'll get back to you.

        • Mate, just curious what other type of month are you thinking of?

          • +1

@F1ngolf: A calendar month starts on the 1st and goes through until 28th-31st
A non-calendar month can start at any time and end four weeks later eg June 7 to July 5.

            • +2

@King Tightarse: Oh…interesting. It did not occur to me that way.

My assumption has been based on calendar month as T&C says "limited to one cashback per month per Shopback account." I would expect the T&C to say something like "per 4 weeks" or "per 30 days" if it is not calendar month. Good question, though!

        • +6

          Per calendar month confirmed :)

          • @gotyourback: Rep, why did clicking thru the app not take you to the deal?

            • @[Deactivated]: Sorry mate I'm not too sure what it is you're referring to?
I just tested it on my mobile and it appears to be working?

              • @gotyourback: No. Certainly not working for me. I tried on my desktop. It just didn't take me to the deal. So weird I gave up.

                • @[Deactivated]: Does it take you to the amaysim home page?

                  • @gotyourback: Yes. To other deals than this one

                    • @[Deactivated]: That's perfectly normal, we take you to their homepage intentionally.
You can see the deal on the amaysim homepage :)

                      • @gotyourback: That's very strange. A direct link to the deal in the app should take you to the deal, not the homepage. I can't even find the deal on their site

          • @gotyourback: So can store rep confirm, if I order the sim card by paypal, and cancel the subscription within 28 days, is the cashback still eligible?

            • +1

@htc: As long as you activate within 30 days, there should be no issue with cashback when you cancel the subscription.

              • @gotyourback: one per calendar month means we can buy one today, then again on sunday and get 2 x $20 cashback, am I missing something?

                • +2

@dammit: "am I missing something?" Yep, it ends tomorrow :P

                • @dammit: Correct.
However, amaysim deals expire at the end of each month & they update their cashback rates at the beginning of the new month.
So you can take advantage of each deal once per calendar month :)

                  • @gotyourback: Could you please confirm this if its for existing customer amaysim customer?

                    • @Ozfanmel: All the info can be found on our merchant pages :)

Cashback is eligible for new and existing amaysim customers purchasing a new SIM and limited to one cashback per month per Shopback account.

              • @gotyourback: Thanks, do I need to turn off vpn for shopback to track purchase?

                • +1

                  @htc: No worries!
Yeah - with all purchases made on Desktop, we ask users to disable VPNs/AdBlockers to ensure tracking success :)

  • Not tracked so far

Anyone know how soon this tracking will appear on our account?

    Thanks

    • +1

      Takes up to 2 days

    • In a few hours or next day.

      • Keeping my fingers crossed on correct tracking in view of recent issue with Amaysim payment system error.

        • Last via CR not tracked but they manually added it. Not sure how fast SB tracks but they didn't do well in the past…

  • Thanks OP, my next sim port until a good mobile phone plan pops up again.

  • Great, so is it free delivery? Do I need to activate within 30 days after payment?

  • Is it just me? I can't find this $10/30GB

EDIT: have to click thru Pomos

Did anyone order thru Shopback app? Clicking thru the app didn't to me the deal.

    • +4

I still can't see it? I see $10 for 50GB after Shopback takes me to Amaysim site, but Shopback website says $20 cashback is for Unlimited 30GB Mobile Plan

      • No 30GB plan there, and you can't search on their site

      • +1

If you read the small print closely, that is 30GB + bonus 20GB for first 3 renewal so should be the correct plan.

        • +1

Yep. That makes sense. This is why the title is so confusing. You actually need to click on $10/50GB plan, and that'll take you to the deal. Even the rep can't provide any assistance

      • Clicking through the site immediately takes me to the correct checkout page on Amaysim now

  • When reaching the payment details page the browser extension turns from green to orange, any solution?

  • Does it work if you purchase through browser not shopback app?

  • +1

Just for clarification, I frequently switch between providers for the second sim. The site says 75 days to claim. So if I get this deal, does it mean I have to stay with Amarysim for 75 days or I can port out after the plan expiry in 28 days and still the cashback will be approved? Not sure. Can someone please clarify?

    • The 75 days is just the wait period for the cash back. You can port out after the expiry

  • Didn't think, just logged in with an existing account as opposed to claiming to be a new customer with new email addy…

    • Should be eligible?
Cashback is eligible for new and existing amaysim customers

    • +1

Cashback is eligible for new and existing amaysim customers purchasing a new SIM and limited to one cashback per month per Shopback account.

You should be sweet if you purchased a New SIM :)

      • +1

        Thanks for confirming.

  • Does add a premium number invalidate the cashback?

  • Anyone know how long it take for the SIM to be posted and delivered?

    • Normally about a week

  • can I cancel before the 2nd month charge? Which exact plan do I buy? this was $30 now $10?

    It says 50gb /28 days…not 30GB?

  • Gotta give credit to Amaysim for having awesome deals lately. I had a horrible experience in 2020, but 2021 has been good!

    • +1

What were these awesome deals? I thought they had much better cashback deals with profit like this back in early 2020 or 2019

      • Cheap sim starter kits (even at woolies) and offering bonus data to existing customers - came in handy when my dad was stuck in hospital

  • +1

I just need to order 50 K sim to be a millionaire! :)

    • +2

That would make you half a millionaire.

      • +2

        ha ha! Its actually 50,000 * 20 (cash back) = 1 Million

        • Tue, but you paid $10 :P

          • +2

@gotyourback: But he'd still be a millionaire. He never stated profit of a mill :P

            • +1

@Sex: Damn. Looks like we've been caught out on a technicality haha

            • +1

@Sex: Millionaire Definition: A millionaire is an individual whose net worth or wealth is equal to or exceeds one million units of currency.

I guess people need to understand the difference between Net from Gross. 😩

        • -2

I guess math wasn’t your best subject 😂

  • Is it the same deal that was posted a few days ago and can you add another sim if you got the deal the last time?

  • +1

Looks like its a 50gb plan at the moment. Haven't got a shopback tracking confirmation, hopefully get one soon!

  • Thanks OP. Hopefully will get tracked soon too.
