Just spotted this on the Shopback page. Basically a $10 profit on the 30GB plan.

Cashback is eligible for new and existing amaysim customers purchasing a new SIM and limited to one cashback per month per Shopback account.

                @[Deactivated]: I already submitted claim with a PDF invoice from my account and got a prompt reply to ask for the plan that I purchased. Replied with "7. UNLIMITED 30GB". It seems going to be a better process than I would expect.

    I have an unactivated amaysim prepaid sim - can I order this, and activate the sim I have on hand with the new plan immediately?

    My other prepaid plan is expiring on Monday, so a new sim is unlikely to be delivered in time…

      Hopefully they can get everything back on track.

    Hey everyone, another update:

    We've implemented a solution that will Automatically credit all the missing cashback to your accounts, asap.
    The solution has been implemented on our backend system this afternoon, but we will need to wait for the system re-sync to occur - which happens every morning between 6am & 9am.

    What this means is:
    If you placed an order and don't see any Cashback in your account, you should see the Cashback in your account tomorrow 3rd of August around 9am.

    I've also bookmarked all of the DM's sent to me, and tomorrow morning I will be manually checking each account to confirm the Cashback has been credited correctly.

    If you don't see the amaysim Cashback under "Lifetime Earnings" in your account by 12pm (mid-day) tomorrow, then please send me a DM as I'd be happy to Manually fix it.

    Nothing showing in my account still, not even the $7 cashback.. ticket raised with Shopback

  • Paid $10 - debited from prepaid CC, Amaysim refuses to send sim and sends email "amaysim: REMINDER - unsuccessful mobile service purchase"
    So I also can't activate the sim

    • Telling the truth is hurting someones feelings it seems.

    • Previouly I tried to use prepaid card by paying via Paypal, but Paypal changed to other non prepaid funding sources. I know from then that Amaysim is recurrent biller that does not want to accept it.

    • No, and amaysim sent an email "unsuccessful mobile service purchase".
      So this deal will result being $10 out of pocket for me.

      • They wont charge you if the purchase didn't go through

        • I followed Shopbacks T&Cs : if failed payment, click through via shopback again.
          So I did that, resulting in a new number and that one is charged.
          I got 2 emails from amaysim, for the number that failed and the number that succeeded (payment).
          Both numbers have "unsuccessful mobile service purchase".

          Proof:
          $10 payment with prepaid CC - settled!
          2 invoices - failed transaction and "successful" transaction

          • @johnmelb: Sounds like a weird issue you are having - I haven't seen this issue before but I am sure if you contact SB and Amaysim you can get this sorted out - they will fix it up if you follow up with them.

            • @King Tightarse: First transaction I did went to PayPal - and it immediately failed.
              Then I checked the SB T&Cs that state

              Terms & Conditions
              If your payment fails, click through ShopBack again and perform a new transaction

              So that's what I did, and I ended up with 2 numbers: 1 failed transaction, 1 succeeded transaction.
              I'm really surprised that amaysim sends an email about failed transaction for a billed and invoiced product.

                • @King Tightarse: I PMed GYB - and getting support there. It's just frustration with Amaysim. Still trying to contact them, but when I login my account and click chat I get: "Our agents are not available at the moment."

                    • @King Tightarse: Yes, GYB was really helpful and willing to support even if Amaysim wouldn't come through.

                      Still, as I mentioned, I'm not happy with a company (in this case Amaysim) sending out an email that they won't fulfill an order that's paid and invoiced.
                      They explicitly said "Your mobile service purchase was unsuccessful." - for the number I did pay for (they sent 2 emails - at the exact same time, so looks automated).

                      It does seem that if somebody has a failed payment and follows the T&Cs from shopback (to click through via shopback again), that they will always end up in this situation.
                      It seems Amaysim won't send out any order/sim, if there's any order with an open balance on the same account.
                      So if a payment fails and you don't want to contact Amaysim, then it will be easier to just create a new account.

    It’s been 10 days and I still have not yet received the SIM card. The SIM card is already activated and the countdown to expiry already started. I wonder how Amaysim is getting away with this.

    • Don't stress. It resets once you activate it/start using it.

      • I’m not overly stressed. Just thinking it’s really dodgy for amaysim to do this. From my past experience, the SIM came activated if you choose a new number. You only need to activate your SIM card if you choose to keep your old number.

        Update: contacted amaysim and they said usage was detected yesterday although I have not yet received the SIM. They are not sure about the nature of the usage and it may be just a voicemail. They suggested I purchase a $2 SIM from coles/woolies and process it as a replacement SIM and they will refund the $2.

      • Still waiting. Amaysim is the only reseller that I know pre-activates the SIM when sent out. This is a sneaky way of ripping customers off. I already lost 15 days since I paid. If Amaysim refuses to reset the start, complain to the Communications Industry Ombudsmen.

        • It resets back to 28 days after you start using the SIM. Worked for me.

    Then checked in on this thread.
    Got worried about tracking, but checked and found it (saved me trying to submit a claim!)
    Will activate tomorrow just to get it going.

  • Finally got a sim : number not existing. Contacting amaysim: they don't have my email nor any record of the phone number they assigned!
    This has been proven to be a real pain.
    They can't seem to find my account nor the invoice - but I can see it on their website. I mentioned this and was asked to send the invoice to them.

  • This mob does things so differently: pre-activates the SIM and requires verification of email. They took it so seriously Amaysim actually asked me three times to verify my email. Anyone know why they do that? If I don't verify my email, what would happen?

    • Verifying your email 3 times, seems like there's something wrong with their back-end systems.
      Their administration seems to be a mess , or I'm really unlucky.
      I would just click to activate it - to avoid any potential issues with them saying you didn't properly activate your sim.

      My GF got a sim and it came pre-activated. After activating the plan and using the sim, the start date wasn't reset to start from that day (so it kept saying only +/- 15days left). After 1 week, she had to raise a ticket too.

      For my sim — had to raise 2 tickets : first to get it shipped, 2nd to get it activated (and still waiting).
      They didn't have any record of my email and phone number nor the transaction (according to chat support). So I sent the invoice that I downloaded from their site - then finally they found the number. It would be activated in 1 - 4 hours. (Optus is still saying the number is de-activated both when calling it or trying to call out).
      More than 1 hour later no activation yet (still 3 to go).

      • I called this morning to have the sim activated and start date reset. I don't think the start date would be reset once you activate the sim yourself. I would never use Amaysim if it weren't for the cashback.

        • I used a promo last time and didn't have to contact them to reset the start date. That was done automatically after +/- 1 day. (I remember posting on OB - then waiting for a day and saw it was automatic.)

          Without cashback, I would probably never order from them.
          (Maybe the issues are only when ordering/activating - but that's the first impression you get from an operator and this hasn't been a good experience for me.)

    I received my SIM on 11/8/2021. My account shows renewal 30/8/2021.

    It was activated before it was sent to me and I have effectively lost 9 days as a result.

    I did a live chat enquiry and the rep gave me a $30 credit so that I get one month renewed for free.

    Pretty happy with the outcome.

  • Wow i got this sim only a week before it rolled over into a second month and so i got charged $30. Their auto re-set system appears to be entirely dependent on the end user getting the sim within first 15 days, which didn't happen. Now to chase a refund.

    Lodged a claim and recently got told "the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible"

  • Mine says Pending and should be available by 14/10.
