1366

Sounds like a no brainer deal really. Can't go wrong with spending just a few bucks (in currency exchange) zero bucks giving you a plan lasting over several years
Update: I paid A$109 for a 3 year plan and ShopBack initially tracked A$103.65 as the cashback (but we are told it will be updated to $109 i.e. 100% cashback as confirmed by the store rep in the comments.

    • Tracked after ~2 hours. Currently "pending" apparently till 10 OCT..

  • Had my cash back recently denied through Banggood. Shop back basically said it's up to Banggood to decide if I get a rebate or not.

Very untrustworthy, left a review on Google Play store also

  • Does cashback include the dedicated IP option? 3 years total $361.00

Also has the cashback amount been fixed and tracked for 100% cashback?

  • Just went to log in to Shopback, SMS code, all good, then thought I must have clicked a change password button, hit back to ensure I didn't, got "Too many attempts" and "We force change of passwords often…". Isn't a password and SMS code enough for you? Should I change my phone number as well next month?

    Fail.

I purchased using Cashrewards 92% cashback instead.

    • So $8.72 more than SB. I'd have worked out the SB issue and then tried again as you will need to sort at some point……….unless you no longer plan on using SB.

      • Nah, it's a red flag for me when I see this sort of stuff and not surprised to see negs coming in on the deal. Cashrewards 100% back PIA deal 6 months ago didn't get negs.

SB can keep my few dollars as a back reward for attempting to protect it better than my bank protects my accounts (which have never been breached in 35 years).

Happy to pay more for a smoother experience.

        • Hey mate, sorry I missed this yesterday.
If you experience this issue again, please send me a DM with your account details and I'll fix it for you asap.

          Cheers!

          • @gotyourback: Thanks rep, appreciate the offer, but roo much mucking around. That's how important UX is.

  • If one buys via USA (as an example only) rather than AU to save 10% GST……..will it still be honoured I wonder?

    • there is no gst

  • How long will it take for cashback to reflect in my shopback account?

  • Having paid nothing for or little the last round of PIA, I've put in for another. Not upvoting until I get confirmation from Shopback that it tracked. And BTW, I have done a screen recording of the ENTIRE process SB argue with me…

Windows Key + ALT + R is your friend.

    EDIT: It tracked, upvoted.

    • They could still deny it as its Pending for 3 months right?

      • yea I guess so, maybe @gotyourback can confirm this:

        • This is correct. Orders can be declined by the merchant, even after tracking.
          But this is only if:

          • You cancel/refund your purchase
          • You exchange/swap a product you purchased (more for physical goods)
          • Your account is detected to be partaking in some kind of fraudulent activity

Otherwise, there's no reason for cashback to be declined after confirmation.

          • +3

@gotyourback: Well I have a video so I'll be contacting you if that happens :)

          • @gotyourback: Cashback is only valid for New Private Internet Access Customers

Wouldn't this guy's cashback be denied because of this?

Having paid nothing for or little the last round of PIA, I've put in for another.

            • @MiscOzB: I signed up as a new customer.

              • @Koffee: Alright I suspected that, but I'm wondering if they'd see if you've used the same name/payment details, or anything else that can link you to your previous subscriptions.

    • Having paid nothing for or little the last round of PIA, I've put in for another.

Your cashback may be denied as…

Cashback is only valid for New Private Internet Access Customers

  • Bought a moment ago and shopback already tracked, so so far so good, this time took a video screen shot for proof of shopback cashback👍😁

    • +1

Yeah, it's what I do. Just remember to save it up to the point of it being paid.

      • Yeah went right too the end, payment and everything but have had rejections with shopback in the past but fortunately the OP here has stepped up willing to help anyone with cashback issues, actually reasons why I purchased this subscription,.. ps: I replied to your last reply on my other post here
        👍😁

    • Goodluck with that, if the merchant says your ineligible for cash back.

Shop back will side with them no matter what you show

  • +2

Bought a few hours ago, and $109.04 was tracked!

    Made 4c!

    • +2

      FBI, open up!

      • +2

Does the cashback include the dedicated IP address add-on option?

        • Wondering this too. I purchased with the dedicated IP. Couldn't find a clause to say otherwise. @gotyourback to confirm. If that's the case, I'd be looking for the refund for the dedicated IP.

        • ooooooohhh his gone silent…

        • I added it in the purchase. The total has shown up in shop back as pending

          • @activeight8: I didn't end up opting for the dedicated IP. Would be a nice option to have and, while I've have a pretty good track record with Shopback tracking and redeeming cashback, I didn't want to risk a purchase of ~$350 not working out as I wouldn't have purchased this service at all had their not been the cashback on offer. Hope it works out for you, though. There's no reason it shouldn't given cashback rate was for all purchases not just the three year plan.

          • +1

@activeight8: The terms clearly state that "Excludes taxes, fees or additional extras". I wouldn't count on getting cashback finalised for an 'add-on' to the VPN plan, but all the best. See how you go mate.

            • @singhdeals: Thanks. Glad I didn’t risk adding that option, just in case it’s forms part of the ‘additional extras’ in the fine print.

All the best to those that grabbed the dedicated IP. Hope your CB does pay out.

    • Not really as It Excludes taxes and assume PIA charge 10% tax if purchased via Oz. Yes/No?

  • +2

No one ever questions why VPNs are being offered at ridiculously low prices or now 100% cashback schemes?

    • It seems to be the business model world wide for VPN providers… Have a standard price that maybe 20% of "suckers" pay and then a highly discounted price that all the people "in the loop" pay, it obviously works for them as it's been going on for years and years now.

This 100% cashback deal is probably more about playing the long game and trying to get people to forget to turn off the auto renewal (can't turn it off for at least 3 months to get the cashback).

      • How are they making money if they're giving it to us for free?

    • Yeah, I was about to ask this if you didn't….there must be some sort of catch…..I guess shopback is the catch here, ay? Gamble your luck to see if you get your cashback or not since it's not guaranteed and thus this offer isn't exactly a freebie…

  • Question,. Why is this subscription being offered almost free? Are there any catches? hidden data background collecting? Visiting site monitoring? Cookies? Marshmallows? Squirts? Unauthorised bounce backs? To name a few, man when this lockdown gonna end, I'm loosing it badly

    👍😁🤣🤪🤑

    • I had a chat with PIA customer service. According to them they have no direct connection with this cashback. It's more or less a retail offer provided by retailers on onboarding new customers. Not sure how it works.

    • Just remember if you're not paying for the product, you are the product.

      • Who cares if that indeed was the case. One would not be buying a VPN for anonymity and especially it being PIA (American Based and store logs). VPN's are still handy for many things especially when free :-)

  • Actually will this auto subscribe in 3 years? So can we now cancel subscription or not as maybe this is a monthly subscription for 3 years?

    • You will get your next invoice in 3 yrs. I hope that answers your question.

Deactivate the subscription when you get you cash back. May be wait for a month before unsubscribing.

    • Yea don’t cancel the subscription until after cashback. The problem is with PIA, when you stop the subscription, they flag it as your account being cancelled.

      • Okay yupz good idea wait for cashback to happen first, but after that if I cancel subscription will it still continue till end of 3 year term?,

I guess I can make a calendar reminder too 👍😁

  • +1

ok bought..be good to me shop back….

  • Has anyone got cash back for the 3 year plan including the dedicated IP option?

    • Don't think that was an option.

    • +2

Yes, you can get the dedicated IP option and get a full cashback

      • Damn!!! Did not know that was included in the deal.

      • Can we get the dedicated IP thingy as a separate second purchase and score the cashback for that too?

  • +2

I did this last year when it was 110% cash back. I got a VPN and profited!

    • +1

Wow, they even pay u to use? :)

  • +1

    Tracked, thanks OP.

  • Hi Can someone please advise whether there will be data limit when using this VPN? Right now I am with Winscribe and I am only getting 20 GB and I have chosen only two countries VPN and paying $3 per month, however it's only 20 gb not unlimited.
wanting to know whether this deal is unlimited GB or has restriction such as Winscribe?
    TIA

    • -1

Mmmm, lazy question. Why not just check their Website and inclusions? Anyhow, it says……. Unlimited bandwidth :-)

      • Thanks for your reply……when I click on Go to deal it takes me to shopback website and I don't have an acct with shopback and shopback website doesn't say or display about the bandwidth or data limit and hence my question to clarify. So rather than a judging it a lazy Q's this is more about finding information…

        • I wasn't suggesting you go to Shop Back as no answers to be had there. One should go to "Private Internet Access" website as that's where all the info about what you are buying is held and you can check for any other info (if needed) at the same time. Was only stating the obvious thing to do.

    • +1

No limit while using PIA :) . And lots of countries/servers.

      • Thanks @GTG very helpful

  • Hopefully it will track

    • Don’t hold your breath even if it tracks with ShopBack. They’ll cut your cashback if it was anything like my very first experience with them 😅

      • Can say the same for both shopback and cash rewards though higher stakes here bigger money too loose lolz,. That's the way the cookie rolls 👍😁😜🤣🤑🤪

  • It's it indeed a great deal for the best VPN in the market!

  • -1

    Have always used Cashrewards.

Decided to give ShopBack a go recently when they had 20% off ASICS.

Cash back was tracked yay, check back a month later and they’d secretly reduced it from $41 to $13.

    I’m more amused than upset.

Will NOT ever use this joke of a service. Never ever had this issue with CR.

I made sure NOT to use the $20 off for signing up at ASICS either.

Returning the shoes, thank god I didn’t run in them yet.

    Just wow.

    Be warned guys.

Hell I’ve never posted a comment on ozB either but I just had to give people a heads up. Yeah maybe they’d sort this if I did the contact support blah blah blah process, but the question is simply why….? Absolutely ridiculous. Far out I’m disgusted. GST ? Nope. I calculated 20% of the price excl gst, That would still make the cash back $38.

Just thought that I wouldn’t notice, right 😂

    • thanks,. its good to know when things can go wrong,. though I can say both CB providers you've mentioned I've had issues with when it came to honouring cash backs,. but you can guess which ones been the worst,. so dare I say it can be a gamble at times and at the same time very tempting like this deal 🤣

  • Hey guys, i'm in 2 days later and it still hasn't tracked. Red flag? Should I be worried?

    • +1

Just ordered. I'll let you know when my tracks

    • +2

OK, mine just got tracked with dedicated IP but the tracked amount is 39c short.

      • I've read the benefits of dedicated IP, but are there any downsides to have dedicated v dynamic for a VPN?

        • None other than the fact that only you will be using that IP address.
I confirmed with support that you can choose whether to select of the of the available regions or use your own dedicated IP. So it's up to you to decide when you connect. Dedicated IP on works on their app.

(*** Currently, dedicated IPs only work with the PIA apps. Further implementation of Dedicated IPs outside of the PIA app is being looked into but there is no estimated time for when or if other options may be added.
you can connect to our application with or without using the Dedicated IP. You can activate it when you wanted to use it or just connect to one of our regular regions.

      • The terms clearly state that "Excludes taxes, fees or additional extras". I wouldn't count on getting cashback finalised for an 'add-on' to the VPN plan but all the best. See how you go mate.

  • Thanks for posting OP.

Looks like there are similarly competitive cashback offers for both Surfshark and NordVPN via Shopback at the moment - though they are both 90 per cent compared with the 100 per cent CB for PIA.

I've been using Getflix, which doesn't have the volume of servers internationally that these folks have, so will grab an extra service.

Seems all have their advocates, but is there a standout service of the three? If I end up paying $10 for SF or Nord instead of complete cashback for PIA that's fine. Might as well get the best service if there is such a thing.

    Views welcome.

[Large cashback offers for new customers only, of course]

  • Can you use P2P on Aussie servers like Nord?

  • Got it, cashback tracked at $108.88

  • New to VPN game, got a question. I have a Tidal subscription and a few Amazon speakers around. Streaming Tidal music on Amazon Alexa is supported in some countries, but unfortunately, not in Australia. Therefore, my question is - can I somehow fool Alexa into thinking that I am located in some country where Tidal streaming is supported by Amazon? If yes, is it difficult to do? (If relevant to my question, speakers are connected wirelessly to Asus RT-AC88U).
    Many thanks!

  • Got it too, tracked A$108.73. And don't forget combine it with the $3 bonus cashback.

  • When I click through to the 3 year deal ,on the last page it comes up as 2 year plan + 2 months free for 98 dollars…obviously doing something wrong…
Tried a few times.. shows 100% shopback initially and then ends up at last page showing 98 bucks??

    • I had the same problem, just go though the generic Private Internet Access link on the Shopback website and select "Get PIA VPN" at the top right of the page.

On the following page, the middle option is for 3 years at the discounted rate.

      • Oh… I clicked on 3-year plan and got 2 year + 2 months honestly thinking that this is what they call 3-year plan. I paid A$98.20 (tracked A$98.11 by SB). Should I cancel and try again? I guess, I can't use the same email address though if I do it…

        • Is your email a Gmail if so stick a full stop somewhere in the username part, Gmail accepts [email protected] same as [email protected]

          • @Italkdigital: Thanks, I didn't know that! Unfortunately, I have not used Gmail account.

        • I kept getting 2 year and just stuck with it. In 2 years, prob want to review the right VPN service anyway

  • I haven't used shop back. How long after PIA purchase would you expect to receive the cash back

  • ProtonVPN offers a free VPN service too, run by the same people who brought us ProtonMail, which appealed to my privacy-consciousness due to the trust I already have in their company.

    • Free version is crap though. Real hit and miss. Have tested it a few times over the last couple of years. The trial/paid version is fine. Have not tested free in last 2 months so no idea if it has improved? I just went with a 90% off Nord VPN 2 year deal here a couple of months back to save the hassle of freebies.

The free Mail is handy. Have had an account since day one.

  • this Still On or time up ?

  • I cancelled my PIA and signed up with NordVPN. Tried PIA for a week and NordVPN for a day. I use Telstra SIM and Optus 4G home internet.

For my setup, the Nord runs 5 to 7 times faster. I was able to stream content from other countries (including Prime and Hotstar) on streaming apps using Nord. With PIA, the streaming services work well from browser, but not on apps.

The actual VPN app experience is better on NordVPN compared to PIA. I know PIA us free, but for a few dollars.. I went for what was a better experience for me.

Just as a side note, I have never had issues with both Shopback and Cashrewards.
