Citibank Premier Credit Card: $600 Cashback with $2000 Spend using Apple/Samsung/Google Pay in 90 Days, $300 1st Year Fee

90

Notice this deal is back from Citibank. Unfortunately the fee is not as good before - now $300 instead $150, but still not bad if considering other perks with Premier card.

To be eligible to receive $600 cashback, you must spend a minimum of $2,000 on eligible purchases using your new card through Apple Pay or another eligible digital wallet within 3 months from approval. Excludes Citi PayAll payments, Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, interest and fees. Any refunds and Chargebacks on purchases will also be excluded and will not form part of the spend criteria. "Another eligible digital wallet" means Samsung Pay or Google Pay. Cashback will be credited to your Account within 4 months of meeting the spend criteria.

$300 profit and other perks (Priority Pass lounges, Complimentary Travel Insurance, etc)

Not really great deal but may be for someone ran out of cards for churning.

Citibank cc applications can be good (IMO) or a pain (YMMV) to deal with.

"Not really great deal but may be for someone ran out of cards for churning." You summed up my situation perfectly, OP. We are doing more local holidays in the future so I am more interested in cash deals like this one compared to frequent flyer points.

Edit: Cashback will be credited to your Account within 4 months of meeting the spend criteria. That is outrageous!

NAB have (profanity) up all Citi offerings.

  • +2

They literally doubled the annual fee? Wow

  • +6

It’s disgraceful that the ACCC waved through Nab’s purchase of Citi.

  • At least Citibank don't have cool-down period like other banks.

When was the last time you checked this? Terms and conditions changed on November 20.

        Cashback offer
To be eligible to receive $600 cashback, you must spend a minimum of $2,000 on eligible purchases using your new card through Apple Pay or another eligible digital wallet within 3 months from approval. Excludes Citi PayAll payments, Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, interest and fees. Any refunds and Chargebacks on purchases will also be excluded and will not form part of the spend criteria. "Another eligible digital wallet" means Samsung Pay or Google Pay. Cashback will be credited to your Account within 4 months of meeting the spend criteria. Your Citi Premier Card must remain open and in good standing (for example – your account is not in default, suspended or closed) to receive the cashback. Cashback will reduce the outstanding balance of your account but will not count towards your next monthly repayment obligation. Please note, you will be charged interest on retail purchases while you have a balance transfer. This offer commenced 20 November 2024. We may vary or end this offer at any time. This offer is not available when closing or transferring from another Citi branded credit card account or in conjunction with any other Citi branded credit card offer.

With other banks, you most likely see something like "don’t currently hold and haven’t opened or closed <this-brand> credit card in the last <XX> months"

    • I was told on their online chat that the points offers are purely for new customers only now

      • Is it new to that card or new to Citibank?

Eg if you had prestige and went to premier is that acceptable

        • The chat agent said it was a Citibank thing. I closed a Premier 3 years ago and even if I went with the Prestige they said I wouldn’t be eligible for bonus points.

That deal is existed all the time, not new. Fee is too high, not worth it I think

  • $300 cashback for 2k spend not that good as i first read it

    • $300 in your pocket, to spend what you normally might over 3 months on everyday expenses

  • +3

Churning deals keep getting worse and worse.
