And the secret sale will give you extra discounts. I got S24+ for $860 including 35% discount, 10% using Samsung payment and 5% for first Samsung app order.

      • S24+ was going for about $660 during recent secret sales..

        • Really?? Did that incluse Trade in bonus of $150?

  • Please specify this is for the 256GB variant

  • Not bad if you got a way to get work to reimburse

  • +11

No one posted because everyone bought it for $900 at launch

    • How come?

    • +4

      Pre-order special + boosted rebate for trade-ins + $20 voucher for $100 discounts.

Edit: why the neg? I am just explaining.

      • +2

Probs feeling bad that they missed out. Hence the neg

    • I got it for $600 (something) with a Pixel 8 Pro trade in. Loving it. Such a good phone.

    • Yup. And that was the 1TB version

    so $2149 RRP on reciept
Claim tax deduction at top marginal rate = $1074
get the $500 cashback under the table
    = $574.50 out of pocket?

and just for good measure, get a $215 GST refund if travelling
    so $359.5

    • Can you please explain how you are able to tax deduct $1074 and over how many years?

      • I am a sole trader. instant asset write off at top marginal tax rate.

        • What is that rate?

          • @TomGum: same as personal income tax rate.

ATO Website: 45c for each $1 over $190,000
            +2% medicare levy

        • I'm also registered as a sole trader, but haven't done any business recently. Can I still do this ?

          • @perthguy92: if you report business deductions without business income, will be flagged by ATO. do at your own risk.

ATO has benchmarks on deductions vs income so if anything looks off or outlier, then it triggers their internal flags.

      • +2

Have a look at the ato website at https://www.ato.gov.au/businesses-and-organisations/income-d…
        for an example.

    • GST is about $195, not $215.

      • Yep minus the gst first then deduction on the ex gst amount

        Still good deal.

        2149
        -195 gst
        1954
        48% marginal tax rate
        1016 after tax cost
$500 cashback +195 gst input credit
        Final out of pocket $321.

this or iphone 16 pro max from costco deal?

    • This, but not at this price

Completely unrelated, but with the Samsung pay 10% off deal, is there a way to use samsung pay without samsung phone in hand?

If not, can I use my sister's samsung pay and ask her to pay on my behalf but ordering the phone in my name?

    Thanks!

    • Yea you can ask someone to pay for you.

      • Cool, thanks :)

Spending more than 1k on a samsung phone us a joke. Just wait a week for easter sales, with new tariffs they need to bring the sales number bought for this finance year

    • 1399 for the plus is not a deal at all!

  • If buying outright is it locked to Telstra Network?

    • Do you not understand what outright means…..why say outright if it's locked….

      • Outright is just what you pay upfront. Unlocked is what you're looking for

        • Why would it be outright (no contract) but locked? Locking is to keep you in a contract right
