That title was exhaustive!

Add your trade in details to get the $200 bonus credit.

At the cart page, there's a red 'Get offer' banner on the side of the page, that'll give $100 off (unique code expires 31 Mar 2025).

Get onto chat and request the $100 trade in bonus code.

Buy it from the Samsung Shop app to get additional 5% off, for first time purchasers.

Use Samsung Pay to get additional 10% off (not confirmed as I don't have a Samsung phone to test atm).

For this I chose the Samsung S25 Ultra 256GB variant.

My best guess at the final total cost:

  1. Cart price without additional discounts = $1,849.00
  2. Add trade-in ($5 min. value) for $200 off = $1,644.00
  3. Add cart page code $100 offer = $1,544.00
  4. Add chat $100 bonus trade-in code = $1,444.00
  5. Use Samsung Shop app 5% off first time purchase = $1,371.80
  6. (At this point your totals will vary due to trade in-value but let's go with $1 cracked screen trade in) = $1,375.60 (price corrected)
  7. Use Samsung Pay 10% off = $1,238.04 (price corrected)

If I've made any errors please then let me know in the comments!

UPDATE 2:20pm - Added screenshots and corrected some prices.

What about for the 1TB version please?

          • @Radiskull: Chat rep confirmed the 10% off using samsung pay is not usable on the education store. I am unpublishing so I don't confuse anyone.

        • i paid 1386.95 for the 1TB with the Samsung care, and the $590 trade-in of my S23 ultra.

      • I just went thru this exact scenario, EDU store list price for the 512GB was cheaper but (at least in my case for whatever reason?) it did not give me the extra $100 "red banner" deal, nor did it give the extra 5% for using Samsung Shop app, and the 10% Samsung Pay discount wasn't available either, and the trade-in bonus was only $150 instead of $200.. so even tho the normal online store had a higher list price, by the time I stacked all of those up the 512GB was cheaper than EDU's stacked discount by almost a whole $100, and only around $30 more than OP's 256GB which I think is a no-brainer. Didn't try the 1TB tho since the list price was so much higher to begin with.

Samsung website does a lot of funky stuff when it comes to discounts and the order of operation. I remember the 5% app discount also cut into some of the other codes I had stacked when I used it so I wasn't getting the full value of the code or something.

where is the add cart code?

    • At the cart page, there's a red 'Get offer' banner on the side of the page, that'll give $100 off (unique code expires 31 Mar 2025).

      • dont see that on my cart page :(

      • tried on different browser, samsung mobile and dont see that anywhere.
can you please show screenshot of that red Get offer?

        • I could only get it to show on my 3rd refresh in the app

IOS for me is more buggy than my previous Android.
      Not a great start.

I have exactly the opposite experience. I manage a fleet of mobiles and iOS is by far much simpler for the staff than Android. Every time I have to touch an Android phone it's clunky and difficult, with iOS it…Just Works.

      • If it is simpler, its because its a walled garden. You can only do certain things in certain ways, and thats why it 'just works.' For me and many others, I'll take way more customisation and being able to do things exactly how you want them over 'simpler', which it isn't really anymore either.

Though its good iOS has finally added widgets, app drawers, being able to not have all your apps somewhere on the homescreens etc. Step in the right direction

  • +2

Add cart page code $100 offer

    Where did you get that?

  • +2

And if you have the Amex offer, get $100 off

    • Would that negate the 10% samsung pay?

      • I think Samsung Pay works as a wallet, so it shouldn't be an issue as long as you use AMEX card on your Samsung Pay.

My experience was with CBA & Google Wallet. I tapped using Google Wallet with my CBA card, and I still get my CBA yello cashback promotion credited to my account.

    • -1

      Or CBA

      • +1

CBA Yello promotion is via CBA link, the offer is different and coupon from online chat normally doesn't work for this.

        • -1

CBA only checks if you spent 500 on Samsung website

          • @sqheaven: Nope, that's not mine definitely. Mine needs to click "claim offer" via CBA App offer. It's different to "activate" offer where CBA only detects the spending. Maybe your offer is targeted offer and different to mine.

            • -1

@double_J: Same. It says you can claim multiple times. It only checks if you spent on their website

              • @sqheaven: Cba credits for each purchase over 500? Has this been tested?

Ive played around myself and chat failed to confirm wether or not you had to use the yello/cba link to landing page.

              • @sqheaven: Did you get the $100 off on cart via the CBA offer or did you get cashback?

Asking as I've the offer with "claim offer" via cba app

                • @Nps: It doesnt work for this deal. When you claim the offer via CBA, it sends you to the Samsung Commbank Yello EPP page. You go through to checkout and when you input and CBA card number, it give a $100 discount right there. There is no cashback and even if you spend $500 on the normal site, you will not get cashback.
You can not get 5% app discount since you cant access Commbank yello specific page through the app. You can't use the codes from chat as they dont work on EDU/EPP sites currently, there is no red banner offer and i dont think the 10% samsung pay will work either but i cant confirm that.

    • +2

Just FYI, it says AMEX card not accepted via Samsung Pay now

      • Where does it say that? I was literarlly planning on buying a cheap Samsung phone to use Samsung pay with amex card to get the discount.

        Thanks

      • -1

I used AMEX via Samsung Pay for this deal a few hours ago

        • +2

It says AMEX is not supported in my wallet. Yes you can add AMEX card but when you're about to pay, it says not supported.

          • @jimmykim: I couldn't get Afterpay to work through Samsung Pay either

      • I think to clarify, its Samsung shop app which doesn't support Amex. Well that's what the message I got was.

  • What do you guys do for getting the trade in bonus, now that asurion doesn't work? I used to select the wired headphones for $1.. (this ques is when you don't wanna trade in your phone ..watch etc.) Samsung has pretty bad trade in values..

    • What do you mean Asurion doesn't work anymore?

      • It simply says when I go into the app that the Samsung trade in app is no longer supported.. either Samsung website or in store are the only options..

        • It's still through Asurion

          • @Bruceflix: Right.. I understand. But now the website/store only allow a very limited number of devices, with shitty trade in values. Earlier we used to be able to trade in earphones of any random brand (I used to give the airline ones) and just get a dollar for that. But you still used to get trade in bonus

            Doesn't seem possible anymore..

            • @Shiva24488: They stopped that pretty fast after it got posted here.

Now you can still get the bonus by choosing the cheapest device available for trade in and then select broken screen to drop it down to $1. I think people were picking watch since it doesn't need to have IMEI and just serial number (IIRC no validation is done on this but best to check yourself).

Personally I picked S8 with broken screen and then traded them my S7 which they accepted haha

              • @CodeXD: Haha nice.. at least we have some work around..

            • @Shiva24488: Yeah, I believe they cancelled the generic headphone trades because people were sending in airline ones.

        • Use Samsung website…?

  • +4

+$30.00 for the fee charged when you don't send your trade-in

    • -6

I am pretty sure of lots of confirmation that no fee is charged during S25 launch

      • +4

I can personally confirm the fee was charged during the S25 launch, and it's still outlined in the T&Cs so it should be expected

        • -1

          wow!!

2 of my friend were not charged any fee

        • I thought it was $60 for late fee ?

          • @WwDesi: $30.00 if it's just a $1 device, anything over that seems to be $60

        • +3

I did 2 trade-ins on 2 orders for the s25 launch. On one I was charged $60 late-return fee. The other I was not. I never returned either device. I disputed the charge. They said no. I asked them to point out which conditions in their T&C had been met for me to be charged $60. They couldn't. They agreed to refund the $60.

          • @Bruceflix: I can't find anything about a $60 late fee in any of their terms and conditions either.

            • @Farticus: And neither could they for my situation, hence i challenged them to find it

The condition for late return fee is 7.3 (a)

But the condition that has to be met is they need to receive your device within a window of 14-90 days.

              • @Bruceflix: I actually just found it. It says it's a late return free if not returned within 14 days. When do you go though this? They may have changed the T&C. I'll have a close look when I get home too.

Your bonus trade ins aren't effected are they?

                • @Farticus: Please post the paragraph of the condition. It's literally numbered.
Also, the t&c related to the s25 trade in were dated July 2024. The t&c they linked to in their "reminder" email/threat was from November 2023. Changing t&c like that possibly invalidates the whole tradein if challenged in court. I however am not willing to go that far. Yet.
I did get my $60 back as they had no authority to charge it as they didn't receive my device between 14 and 90 days.

                  • @Bruceflix: Samsung Online Trade-In Terms & Conditions (July 2024)

                    5.7 If you:
                    (a) fail to post in Your Existing Device to Us within fourteen (14) days after the date on which You receive Your New Samsung Device […] You may be charged a Late Return Fee in accordance with clause 7.3(a) below;

                    7.3 Late Returns:
                    (a) If You return Your Existing Device to Us more than fourteen (14) days but less than ninety (90) days after the date on which You receive Your New Samsung Device, We will:
                    (i) accept Your offer to transfer ownership of Your Existing Device to Us […]; and
(ii) charge You a Late Return Fee.

Late Return Fee means a fee of up to $60 […] if you fail to post in your Existing Device within fourteen (14) days after receiving Your New Samsung Device to your nominated delivery address. This fee is non-refundable.

Although section 7 does not explicitly specify that there is a fee for not sending the device in at all (rather than late), it is reasonably inferred by the fact that 5.7 states the fee will be applied if you do not send it within 14 days, same as the way that Late Return Fee is defined. The T&Cs are poorly written, I'll give you that - however the spirit & intention of the T&Cs is pretty clear, and I would assume that Asurion refunded you simply so they didn't have to go back and forth on these points.

In any case, regardless of the T&Cs in practice they do charge the "up to $60" fee if you don't send the device in at all, which was the point of my comment in the first place

                    • @dm02: If the T&C was sound, they would not refund.

Their "definition" does not amount to a condition. What their T&C does EXPLICITY state, and the ONLY condition agreed to where they may charge the late return fee is if they RECEIVE the device more than fourteen (14) days but less than ninety (90) days after the date on which You receive Your New Samsung Device.

There is no further condition where they "(ii) charge You a Late Return Fee."

Contracts aren't ambiguous. Hence the refund.

        • Second this.

      • it's been 2 months for myself; no fee was charged from my account. Purchased on day 1 of pre-orders

    • so if i dont send in the device i just get charged $30?

      • I got charged $30 and I was a day 1 buyer so you probably will too

    • Is that on top of the security charge they place on your account? Also do you lost any trade in bonuses you get during the check out?

  • -1

I cant seem to find a $1 trade in device?

    • +1

Apple watch broken screen abcd serial no

  • Can you do this for the S24?

  • I also cant find the $100 bonus banner.

Edit: nevermind it just popped up when i removed and added.

  • HODL - S21 here.

    • +1

Same here. Using a s21 ultra atm since pre-order. Still in good condition apart from the 'detoriating battery issue'.
I'll wait for next year's model and hopefully it'll have a bigger battery size than 5000.

    • S21+ still for me, and the main reason i have not updated is due to all the hoops you have to jump through to get a deal. If they just listed it at the final price i would of pulled the trigger on each model since the S21.

      • agree. i still got an s21 would have upgraded but it requires so much stuffing around
i got this for $6xx so was worth it then.
I probably would go the ultra for a better battery as when you have a heap of apps on it, it drains itself in a day even if you don't use it.

    • Yeah my s21+ still going great. I was reading this with interest thinking hmm maybe an upgrade could be nice, but then I saw the $1200 price.
I've dropped this heaps of times, but running perfect still.

  • +12

not sure about u guys.. but i'm just getting bored with the phones samsung or apple churns out.. boring AF, unimaginative and lack of any sort of innovation. thy are actually making it worst thn the gen bfr. i.e. the S-pen..

problem is..there isnt much options that resonates with me.. gone are the days where the queue is long and winding to get hold of the iphone 3GS or the IP4, or S3.

    • +1

Try Oppo or OnePlus :P I like much faster charging (65 watts and above) like around half an hour or even less.

Try Motorola ;-) Certain Moto phones have faster charging too. Also people like Moto gestures such as chop chop for flashlight etc.

    • What innovation is left that hasn't already been added, with our current levels of technology?
(Yes, they removed the 3.5mm jacks, IR blasters, radio receivers and microSD slots and there are arguments that can be made for the return of each)

      What would you like added?

      • its called couRAGE

        • +2

The next leap of courage will be removing all but one camera. AI upscaling will mimic zoom. Internet connection required, but that's not a problem as we all live in the New York CBD.

    • +2

gone are the days where the queue is long and winding to get hold of the iphone 3GS or the IP4, or S3.

idk why you want to camp out overnight at the store to get a phone tho, that was the worst parts of those days lol

      • i think you're missing the point… whn there is a queue.. that means its worth the time lining up for it. when there isnt.. means no one gives a hoot. pretty much like how you are lining up for a good restaurant or a good movie..

unless you're one of those who just buys everything online and gets it delivered.

I mean i got no beef with people like that.. but there's just so much social interaction during the queue.. going with friends, family, enjoying the crowds's company, little events to make it worth your while.

    • This resonates. These days it's all "slightly better battery, slightly better camera, slightly better screen……SHIT TONNE of AI". Yawn.

  • I can see the red banner on my app. Put in your cart first, go to home (or other pages) and get back to the cart. It eventually popped out for me.

S25U 256GB with $15 trade-in value applied without extra $100 coupon from online chat shows $1,457.30 to me. No further 5% app + 10% Samsung Pay applied yet.

    • Not getting 5% plus 10% samsung payoff?
