Isn't it just a code you get upon login?

    • I first thought that I didn't get my code but after reading threads I found it at the very bottom of My eBay. It was 'COLLECT50' so if you complied with the terms and conditions, maybe try that code. Otherwise you should contact them, $50 is a lot to waste.

    • eBay are fully aware they have not issued the voucher even though i 100% followed their terms and conditions. It is something they don't care about you receive the voucher or not.

Have all emails stating i followed the rules but their department will not issue it.

      • Same thing happened to me last year with one of their 20% promotion.
I lost around 40 dollars..Tried my best to follow up.as you said they don't care.too big and loosing market share, their priorities have changed.no avenue to escalate the issue.

      • EBay won't issue a voucher if either the buyer or the seller violates the t&c. If you didn't, then the seller did.

  • Sorry, after reading 5 pages, can I buy a total of $100 before $50 voucher applied to get the $50?
Or do I need to buy $150 in total?

    • It should fine if the total is $100 or over. See the reference.

  • +1

Awww, damn! I can't use the $50 voucher for real estate! =P

  • Can I purchase from multiple participating stores to make up the $100?

    • +1

a quick read through the Terms and conditions, or these pages will reveal what you seek

      • 'a purchase of $100 or more (item costs only, postage not included) at a Participating Store in one transaction (up to a maximum of 10 items per transaction).'

Suggests it is one store - but just wondering if anyone got it to work with multiple stores.

        • +4

its been confirmed on here multiple times, that yes you can buy from multiple stores - but you need to add them to the cart and do it all as ONE PURCHASE. So you buy from multiple stores for under $100, it won't be counted. Possibly that is what occurred to the people who didn't get their voucher when the previous similar promotion was offered.

        • @gizmomelb:

          Thanks for confirming :)

    • +2

yes you can. Keep adding items in the cart and pay in one go from the participating stores.

      • Its also been said a few times, 10 items MAX

  • Any low cost sock fillers to get my cart to $100?

    • +5

new supercheap auto sale starting tomorrow, fingers crossed it extends to ebay

  • I can't work out how to buy two items from the one seller in the same transaction…

Before I pay via paypal is there an option to add more?

There isn't a cart as such.. Just buy it now (buying from city beach).

    • -2

sigh… reading fail, so you probably won't see this either. but right beneath the BUY IT NOW button (that DARK blue thing), there's a LIGHT blue button which is ADD TO CART.

      • +1

I can see this just fine.

I can't see the ADD TO CART as it's simply not there.

Not a reading fail…turns out it's an iphone/safari thing (in case you were wondering).

        What an obnoxious reply.

        • +2

my apologies, with so many other people NOT reading the T&C, OR reading the comments on here where info is repeated MULTIPLE times I thought it was another reading comprehension failure (they occur so often you see).

I didn't know it was a shortcoming in the iOS browser, seems they really did simplify things too much, so much so that you can't even buy items from ebay and see buttons which everyone else can see.

        • @gizmomelb:

I also see the same question asked multiple times (and answered multiple times). I try really hard not to be one of those people.

I have since downloaded the app and I have the add to cart option there… But something is wrong with one of the items and I can't proceed.. I think it's a sign to save my $100!

        • @TJ4BM: fair enough, I apologise for my rudeness, I will admit I'd had a large Beam and coke and a little testy with so many people not bothering to read. Indication I should not drink and cruise forums.

        • +1

@gizmomelb: That's cool. Just direct your all your rudeness to jv :)

        • I think someone else had the same/similar issue with eBay's last deal.

One would think by now that sites accessed via mobiles/tablets browsers would be free of issues like this, regardless of OS.

It's quite a misleading discount — many seem to be taking it as $50 off or even 50% off. Assuming you keep your purchases near $100-160 and $50-70, the discount averages out to be 26.74% (average of all discounts in table below).

Formula for discount = 50 / (First Purchase + Second Purchase)

This does not take in to account:
    1. Retailers marking up prices to reduce the benefit of the voucher (eg. Kogan)
    2. You have to spend at least $100
    3. The $50 voucher expires within a month
    4. Only purchases from eligible retailers apply

    First Purchase Second Purchase Discount
    $100 $50 33.33%
    $100 $60 31.25%
    $100 $70 29.41%
    $120 $50 29.41%
    $120 $60 27.78%
    $120 $70 26.32%
    $140 $50 26.32%
    $140 $60 25.00%
    $140 $70 23.81%
    $160 $50 23.81%
    $160 $60 22.73%
    $160 $70 21.74%
    $125 $125 20.00%
    • +7

$50 voucher can be used to purchase items from any sellers on eBay.

    • -6

you need to learn what's voucher mean. the second $50 purchase mean you don't need to pay at all!

      • +3

You still paid the $100 for $150 worth of goods. Equal max 33% off. And the $100 item probably cost $80 on other sites. The second $50 item you received probably worth only $40 on other non ebay sites. So its not much of a discount

        • -4

I already know that, but cannot edit. sorry.

Kogan are notorious for increasing their ebay web store prices during ebay events. Simply buy direct from their web store (if you have to), or find another vendor who doesnt do dodgy trading

      • +2

All the selected companies for this deal do dodgy trading. That is why they were selected.

The only genuine deals are the rare 20% off ANY SELLER deals.

        • Super Cheap Auto had genuine deals, I bought their discounted stuff as per my comment above. However the prices have gone up again now.

Their oil deal was even posted here on OzBargain separately…

Ebay sent me an email stating about the deal and showed Kenwood food mixer 900 Watts for $159. When I clicked the link, the price was changed to $179.

  • Can anyone help me add two items from the one seller..
I don't have a shopping cart .. Just buy it now and you can't put two items in the one transaction

I'm using ebay via safari (iphone) .. Should I use the Ebay app?

    • +3

I just used my phone and safari to try it for you and there is no Add to Cart So I suggest you try using your pc instead and if it still fails , try using firefox for your browser. Pc and firefox and pc and safari are good for me.

I'm not home or near a PC but I'll see how I go with the app.. I've just downloaded it.

  • shame fifa 16 is not part of promo

  • I have a friend who lives with me, he doesn't have a credit card and has never used ebay before.

If he was to sign up to ebay and use one of my credit cards would he get the bonus?

    Thanks

    • I can't see how that would work. You have to pay with Paypal, and using the same email address as eBay. So it would mean linking the credit card in your name to his Paypal account (if he has one), which I don't think will work.

      • +1

Thanks, my "friend" likes to live off the grid so doesn't have any ID. Can I create a paypal account with one of my bank accounts I haven't linked to my paypal so he can take advantage of these offers?

        • +1

          I admire his pluck

        • Assuming you both want to use the deal…

After you have made use of the deal, He/You can create another eBay account.
Then un-register your credit card on your paypal, then register a new paypal address with your credit card and let him use this.

I think theoretically this will work, as the deal is very likely linked to the ebay and paypal address's and not the credit card itself.

Bit of a con as sellers up their discounted prices ….. example

new intel Skylake i7 6700 CPU at MSY $454 (Shopping Express $458 and it states retail price is $492)

PC Case Gear ….their Ebay price is $497 !!!

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Intel-Core-i7-6700-/231675955…

    it's a case of … buyer beware

    • use google and check prices before buying anything.

      • How you do actually check previous price?

        • +1

If many have been sold, you can check the purchase history link which is next to the Quantity box on the listing:
          http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&item…

You can check the revision history by clicking on "View all revisions" farther down the page, but it won't give you the actual price.
          http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemRevisionDeta…

You can see they changed the price 4 times this month, and the last change was a week before the sale started, so it may or may not be related to the sale.

I think what gizmo means is to check the actual normal selling price of the item from any other stores with google before buying on ebay.

  • Looking for a good quality Bluetooth headset to use while mobile/at work etc.
    Any recommendations ?

  • So I am a bit confused here so please help me out. I already have a $50 coupon that I must use by end of this month. So if I buy something that says is $100 now, my coupon will mean that I only pay $50 for now. So that means I actually I wont get this new $50 code right, as my actual amount spent is less then $100 ? So I have to spend $ 150 at least now, so that even after I use my present $50 coupon, my payment will be atleast $100 which will give me the new coupon. So I have to spend a minimum of $150 right so that my net pay is $100 to get the new coupon right ? Please advice.

    • the total amount must be at least $100 at checkout to get the $50 voucher.
