$50 eBay Voucher to Use in July with $200 Purchase Sitewide Today (Domestic Purchase Only?)

2720

Similar deal to previous but seems sitewide (ebay Australia) today

Note: According to eBay chat representatives, items bought from overseas seller may not qualify for the voucher offer.

Added 16:55
Seems like even the chat reps can't make up their minds regarding if the purchase has to be from a domestic source only. Some are saying that as long as it's on ebay.au, it should still qualify, and some reps are saying the purchase item/s needs to be from Australia .

Don't forget 2% Cashrewards - http://www.cashrewards.com.au/ebay-australia

      • The key word is "at the time of redemption".
        This means the voucher right?
But if you are using the voucher, why does it matter which paypal account you use?
Unless eBay want to stop you redeming your voucher for purchases for someone else?

    • An update: received my voucher this morning, even though I didn't comply with point no. 19 from the T&Cs.

  • Hmm just had one of my purchases refunded as they were out of stock, might have been good if it wasn't something that I actually needed. Not sure if this effects me or not as it doesn't say anything about this in the terms and conditions.

Now the big day is behind us, may I ask anyone received their $50 voucher yet?

    • +2

Read point 11 in the T&Cs.

      • Thanks a lot mate, that is the only point I missed reading!

  • It seems the promotion is back on (the same as the previous time, with limited sellers) is it worth reposting?

  • Nice one, just gotta wait for 1 July now to receive the credit in my account, thanks!

  • For those who used cashrewards, have you been sent the email confirming your purchase? I haven't received mine and have been missing a number of transactions. I normally just assume I've not done it correctly and can't be bothered chasing them about it. But I've always cleared cookies and followed all the other recommended steps. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't.

I emailed them today and got the standard ebay copy and paste reply stating that they cant find it, and they wont look for it

My guess is that you wont get cash backs when ebay puts in credit/will give you credit back such as this deal

hope someone can reply back to prove me wrong

      • The last time I purchased from the 20% off Ebay deal, I managed to get all the cashback. Good old deal where anything on the site was 20% off. So a while ago.

Anyway I never enquire, cos I expect the standard reply too. I can't see how they'd put effort to locate it, it is so easy to just say you must have done it wrongly, try harder next time.

Ebay isn't the only site I've been unsuccessful with. One Target $200 purchase was one of the recent unsuccessful ones. The only recent successful cashback was the $1 Woolworths one (the least of em all). Guess if I still don't get anything from this deal, and the Uniqlo one, I'll just cash out and close the account.

    • I received confirmation.

  • its 1st July. Has anyone received $50 voucher yet?

    • +2

Where is the 'voucher section' in My Ebay? I'm not sure where the voucher is supposed to be.

    • Mine came by email. Haven't checked my eBay page yet.

  • -1

has anyone received their $50 voucher?

  • +4

I've received mine, check My ebay and it should have heading Vouchers*, or just ctrl+F Vouchers. If you cant find it then ouch.

    • +3

Yep got mine too. I found it under "my ebay summary" at the bottom of the page below watch list and orders list

    • Hmm nothing in mine yet..

      • +1

Just got off chat with eBay reps - they claimed to me that the $200 spend didn't include shipping and quoted me http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/humpmonthsitewide which doesn't say anything about not including shipping.

So they're going to contact the marketing department and get back to me. Will let you know what happens.

        • Same
Neither the basic advertisement (still on the ebay facebook feed) and detailed terms and conditions mention postage/shipping as exclusions.
So I think they've made a mistake. To deny issuing vouchers would be, at best, to seriously mislead.

        • @Ect: Ebay response "Thank you for contacting eBay about the $50 cashback voucher.

I just want to let you know that our Marketing promotions team is still on the process of distributing the $50 cashback vouchers. Also, please note that there are still some members who haven’t received their $50 cashback voucher.

Our Marketing promotions team advised that you can try waiting for the $50 cashback voucher within the day (July 1). However, if you will not be able to receive the voucher within the day, you can contact us back by tomorrow so that we can validate your account."

        • @Ect: Yup - they are honouring the vouchers but said it might take a day to appear in accounts!

    • Found it! Good thing I came back to this thread to check where it was :)

  • Received mine as well. A quick question. Does this voucher has to be used in single $50 order or can we use it in multiple orders(order1=$25,,,,,Order2=$10,,,,Order3=$15?

    • +2

      Read the T&C above

      8. The voucher entitles you up to $50 off the total purchase price for ONE transaction on eBay.com.au.
      9. Multiple items may be purchased in ONE transaction (up to a maximum of 10 items per transaction).

Yes, you can use the voucher for multiple orders, as long as these orders is in ONE transaction. You can accumulate the orders into the shopping cart, and then checkout in one go.

  • Sweet. Can't believe I got a voucher, bonus!

    • Didn't you spend $200+ that day?

      • Technically no. I bought something that was about $182 after the 20% discount.

        • I see, it may mean you spend $200+ before discount.

        • @charles.gan:
Correct. But like others also thought, the T&C's said you can't use other discount codes etc so I wasn't expecting a voucher, to avoid disappointment.

  • Anyone else still received zero notifications about getting their $50 voucher?

    • Go to your My eBay and scroll right to the bottom of the page and hopefully you'll see it. Otherwise click Ctrl F at the same time and type in Vouchers and it will find it if it's there.

  • Haven't got anything :(

  • Still nothing - and yes I've checked where it should be. I know where it should be as I've had a voucher previously.
Still having internal ebay conversations it would seem.

    • Under the activities

      • It's… Not… Like I said

  • Having still not received my $50 voucher, I spoke to eBay today, who told me that even though I purchased was on the 24th, my PayPal payment didn't go through until early on the 25th.
Therefore, they claim that I didn't complete my purchase my item on the 24th, even though I paid via PayPal seconds after "purchasing" the item on eBay.

Escalated the issue, not happy that they are trying to screw me out of $50!

(Bought the item only because it was "discounted" due to the sale)

    • Now being told that as I didn't make a PayPal transaction, they won't honour it. But I distinctly remember clicking "pay by PayPal" on checkout.. - if you pay by bank transfer, does this cancel out PayPal, even if you physically clicked the button "pay via PayPal"??

If you have fulfilled the terms and conditions but haven't received the voucher yet, contact ebay immediately and start complaining.

I bought multiple items in multiple currencies over $200 AUD in my cart and it didn't automatically qualify me for the voucher.

So I started an online chat, the customer service person tried to argue why I don't qualify with excuses like the items are on ebay US. When I asked for the matter to be escalated, the supervisor finally agreed I qualify.

I had to fight for three days to get the voucher i.e. redemption code. After this experience I don't think I'll participate in a 'get a voucher later' style promotion again. The T&Cs were written very broadly, and ebay is trying to wriggle out of issuing vouchers automatically to qualifying members.

To conclude - items bought from overseas sellers DO qualify, as long as they are listed on ebay.com.au. Also, the $200 spend includes postage. Not sure about the $200 spend with or without discount code though. Cheers!

R.E. ptrg - I thought paypal payments are instant?

  • ebay is telling me it will be 7-15 days for the marketing dept to look into the fact that their terms and conditions don't mention anything about shipping fees being excluded. At this rate I'll get the coupon after it has expired.

    • eBay can look into it for as long as they like but it's totally pointless not issuing the vouchers now when they've accepted eBay is to blame.

It seems eBay and voucher promotions = recipe for disaster.

  • Did other get there $50 voucher dont see it on my ebay but did get an email saying i had but not used it yet am i right in saying it expires end of july?and can it only be used on ebay.com.au or other ebay sites.
