      • But normally I could see same prices for instore and ebay store for retailers. See few items for target, good guys and Binglee.

        • Masters also often has same price in store as their ebay page. Doesn't mean all retailers are willing to eat that ebay fee cost.

        • @IDontWantToSignUpJustToComment: But they increase rates only when ebay has sales….

        • +1

Nope. Often it's just their previous deals expiring the deal before the new deals like this one begin. People equate that to 'price jacking' when really it's just perpetual sales.

        • -2

@IDontWantToSignUpJustToComment: Often ?? You are not sure either do you?
Also if that is true, how come ebay prices are changed and not the ones on the websites.
I got the email from ebay about the voucher and they advertised price of an item, which I checked and it was jacked up. Go figure.

  • 2 x Chromecasts

    • +1

      still less than $100.

  • Are the micro sd cards from futu a good price?

Looking back at the end of Jan I bought the 64gb Samsung Evo for $39 which was a good price at the time, currently $37.50 on the futu ebay store seems okay given the AUD has dropped. Or have the price of these cards gone down?

  • Looking at a few hard drives on futu, they seem to be about 20$ more than msy. So still a $30 saving if you need to buy one and you have a use for the vouchers.

    • +2

No, not a SAVING, you're still paying $20 more UP FRONT. If you're finding it hard to find things to buy to reach $100, just so you get the $50 voucher - then may I suggest you're going to have difficulty finding things to spend the $50 voucher on as well.

      • You're right, I'm paying $20 more for a $50 ebay voucher.

Seems like a good purchase to me.

        • only if you use the voucher.. look in these comments there are still plenty of people who havent used their voucher from the last offer, and the voucher expires.

        • @gizmomelb: you're right, but I'd only be worried if the voucher was restricted to these stores again, but according to some comments it's not.

Do people really not have anything they need/want to get from ebay before the expiry date?

Either way, I know there is something I need to get.

        • @CheapBrah: nah, it's not limited to the same stores. Last time I bought a PS4 DS and a game from Target, then later used the $50 voucher on a rangehood from a totally different seller.

    • anyone know what happens if I'm logged into mint + cashrewards at the same time - and make a purchase?

      • You have to click through to eBay using the link so they can track your purchase.
Can't do it from two different sites at once otherwise you'll have two different tabs.

      • It's not about being logged in. It's about clicking through one or the other. You can't click through both… at least I don't think you will be able to?

edit: beaten by what unco said above

        • but isn't it cookie based? - the tracked link disappears after you've search for a couple of items?

          from: CashRewards

As is standard safe practice with most websites on the internet, Cashrewards keeps a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer .These small chunks of information (known as cookies) contain tracking information so that when you are logged in to Cashrewards and you visit a store from the links on the Cashrewards web site, any purchases made will result in the store reading this information. The store will then send us information about your purchase, at which point we can then credit your rewards account.

        • @blehgg: When you click the link through cashrewards, you're directed to the ebay site. You can't then use that browser tab to go to shopandmint to try get their cashback too.

        • I wander if the cookie monster surfs the net..

  • Ah just bought a kettle earlier this week! Could have waited and got this, I wonder if they will refund it and the price hasnt gone up yet!

  • Did anyone from the last $50 eBay voucher deal manage to combine a purchase from a listed participating store and a non participating store to make up the $100 spend and still receive a $50 voucher?

    • Doubt it, that's why they differentiate them participating store and non participating store.

    • It works for me, i bought chromecast from dicksmith and Phone car mount and printer cartridge from non listed stores. That $50 is like a store credit for any product on ebay.

  • +7

I was literally going to go to Masters today and buy some storage shelves for $92. But have just looked on ebay and can buy them with click'n'collect, so will add some gardening shears cos ours are crap, and hey presto, $100 spent.

    • +3

smart shopping for things you need, I like!

    • +2

if you have a costco card, the costco $99 ones are much better than the masters $92 ones IMO (own both)

      • Thanks, but my closest Costco is more than an hour away (so have never been, don't know what it's like, not likely to sign up soon). Masters is 15 mins. It's just easier, especially with 2 kids in car. I promise myself I'll go to Costco one day..

  • Im after an entry DSLR camera with Li ion battery. Under 350.

    Suggestions? Cheers

  • +1

Fabulous, this will help get some of the Chrissie pressies sorted already!

  • Any good deals on 480-512GB SSDs?

  • +2

Possibly a silly question but here goes anyway… can the $50 voucher be spent anywhere on ebay or only at the participating stores (that you spend the original $100 at)? Have tried to look away from this promotion in the past to avoid buying things i don't need, but i can legitimately buy this time! Thanks :)

    • +2

      Can be spent anywhere :)

    • Yup anywhere on ebay.

  • I wish someone would publish a list of stores that don't jack up prices for these eBay promotions. Probably pretty short though I suspect.

    • +5

By the looks of it Masters prices are the same as in store. Need a few things for the weekend so click and collect for me.

    • +5

Add Peters of Kensington to the list. Prices are (at least in the past) the same as their own website. Shipping capped the same for both too.

    • fairly easy to verify.. that's what Google is for. also may surprise you with something being cheaper than the stores you're looking at.

  • +1

Let the Christmas shopping games commence…

  • -6

Hey look another shitty ebay deal with a million votes.

  • +1

I need a new garden hose - no price hike from masters - good deal for me

  • -4

Yet again why are people plus'ing this when its not even 10am and looked at the price hikes yet?

Also some stores like Toy's R Us and Babies' R Us, has literally ZERO listing, when you click on any item 0 results….

  • +1

stupid question, can i buy from two stores? like from big w and target spend over 100 and get the 50 or does it have to be one store? help please

    • +1

I'd love to know the answer to this too but no one seems to have a definitive answer…

      • read the T&C, as long as you add the items to your cart and it's the same purchase, then you're eligible.

      • T&C - make a purchase of $100 or more (item costs only, postage not included) at a Participating Store in one transaction;

If you buy from two seperate stores don't you have to make more than one payment, so it would probably be more than one transaction.

        • so I wont get it? i bought from two stores, one item was 99 other was 4 dollars

        • @shadowrukia:

missed out by a dollar unfortunately

        • @shadowrukia: my apologies, the last promo you was applied to the cart, didnt have to be from one vendor. I DIDN'T read the current T&C.

EDIT: no, ths doesnt appear right.. the T&C states one transation, value must be $100 or more. So you should be able to buy from multiple vendors involved in the promo successfully.

"Don't forget you can add items from different sellers in your cart and pay for them at the end"

  • Can confirm Quicksilver and Roxy didn't increase prices :D

    • +1

      Well not yet
      Deal hasn't started yet!

      • its only 10 minutes… I doubt they will increase prices (also by considering previous ebay deals). They seem legit for now :D

  • +1

here we go, deal has started. lets pay our money to ebay

  • +5

iPad mini2 on Kogan Ebay is $427.83 (even costlier than Apple) while on their own website it is $349. What am I missing here?

    • Yeah massive hike in price.
FUTU Online are selling the 64GB iPad air 2 for $750. That seems reasonable?
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-iPad-Air-2-64GB-Space-Grey-…

      • +1

        OW is cheaper

        • +1

Was $598 at officeworks for awhile, but has gone up now.

        • Yeh fair call, OW price was a bargain.

    • +1

you're missing that Kogan jack the prices right up whenever there are promotions on ebay.

  • +1

Tightarse time to do your magic and pester sellers for good ebay deal!! like PCCASE GEAR!!

  • +2

Awesome picked up a global knife 20cm with sharpener for $107( $57) from k of peters

    • +1

      But did you pay $57?

      • +8

In my mind i paid $57

        • +4

and in your mind, will you be paying full price for your next ebay purchase ;)

        • @SBOB: and in your bank / credit card/ paypal account it'll show you paid full price for this item, and $50 less on the next purchase (if you use the voucher). But hey if it was on CC or CC linked to paypal you also get to pay the interest for the first purchase as well! :)

  • +1

Can you put multiple items from different retailers in your cart,
    then buy in one transaction
    and still qualify ?

  • +2

"Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay or PayPal) and be registered
    under the same email address."

So if paid with a different paypal address to your ebay one, you don't get the coupon??? Can anyone verify??

    • I wished I had checked this before purchasing. I have different email addresses between my ebay account and my paypal and sadly I can confirm I received NO VOUCHER. Damn it!

That's the last time I go for these eGay vouchers, too much fine print.

      • My email is the same on both but I have yet to receive any notification about a voucher. I think it doesn't get added to your account until the 1st of October; maybe they'll still honour it in your case.

    • thanks for the heads up on that - would have caught me out.

    • Emailed ebay. they said they must abide by the t&C
but on closer inspection of the t&c they say:
Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption and be registered under the same email address.
so thats after you already have the voucher and try and use it… by my thinking you could
simply change your ebay email address now and at the time of redemption it will be the same

    • It is not important.

I couldn't sleep at night worrying about it before too… had 2 accounts and accidentally paid both with opposite linked address's (oops)… still got the voucher on both.

      Vouchers worked like a charm.

  • @downdown - good question.. my eBay account is a different email i think.. will have to check. Anyone know how this rule applies?

  • +2

May have already been posted elsewhere, but here's a link I'm using to search all items from all sellers.

God damn I know I need something and can't think of what it's, when this promotion ends it will pop into my head

  • Can anyone confirm whether Summit Club prices are available through the Kathmandu eBay store?

    • can't answer your question but just something that I've noticed; Some (if not all) discounts on the Kathmandu site do not show up on Ebay. I was comparing the Men's Goose Down Jacket v3, its $229 on the website itself (on sale) vs $249 on ebay. you can factor in the cashback from CashRewards @ 4.8% (KATH) vs 2.5% (EBAY) + $50 voucher which if my quick maths is right, would be a better value going with Ebay IF you're planning to make another purchase from Ebay in the month of Oct where you can compensate both items cost using the $50 voucher; Otherwise it would be cheaper to get it directly from the Kathmandu website.

  • So I bought coffee machine. How to tell if i got a $50 voucher?

    • +3

wait till october - Will appear at the bottom of your "My Account" - in eBay

  • Be patient and wait for proper deal right now the price is not great for many items

  • I have a questions guys:
it says I can purchase multiple items to exceed $100 for voucher. can I buy from any of the retailers in the list to get it or just the one retailer.
say target $10, binglee $20, bigw $15, etc..

    • no problem.
You can add items from different sellers.

      • Right!

    • Should be ok.
