Why some morons -ve me??? I got MEL-HKT return, there are still some tix left at the end of the sale, be quick, it disappear fast. check from 9-Nov to 18-Nov. Even if you can't get the return tix, maybe just get 1 way at cheap price and wait for the next sale to buy the return leg.

  • Lame, too busy working to get in on this.

    Missed out =/

  • Lots of dates $143 return Sydney to Phuket return when I was at work
When I get home, theyre all gone. Very few dates left but mainly weekdays.
I wonder if jetstar will pricebeat?

    • I think by the time you got through to operator the promo tix has gone :)

  • +1

Some promo tickets left in November. If you can't find the cheap return leg, just book 1 way tix and wait for the next sale to buy the return tix or combine with other sale to return to Australia, usually ticket from KL/Singapore back to Australia is cheaper than from here to Asia :)

eg. combine with the Cebu Pacific sale for the return ticket

    • Or Scoot airlines too.

Don't feel to bad if you missed out. My wife won't let me book in case of this. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-30813420

    • Thanks for the link. I would have no idea that had happened without you bringing it up again.

Oh wait. I already knew and my brain does not make illogical decisions, unlike your wife.

      • -1

Thats right wise guy, let me know when they find MH370…

        • -1

This sale is for Air Asia, not Malaysia Airlines, (profanity).

        • -2

          @watwatwat:
          My apologies smart-arse, QZ8501.

        • @King Tightarse: This sale is Air Asia X not Air Asia Indonesia. They're different airlines.

        • Its all the same thing.

After personally witnessing their Flight Crew Check and Training standards, and their Maintenance standards, you won't be seeing me on an Air Asia flight anytime soon.

        • -2

might be why they sold out so quick, they only have a couple of planes flying…the rest they are still looking for…

    "Lowest Fares EVER"

somewhat misleading as there could be cheaper fares in the future.

    • -1

      cheaper than 0?

      • Fares from $66. Which I think would be cheaper than fares from $67.

    • I don't think you know how tense works.

      • ???

    • -2

I've bought cheaper fares before. $54 from KL to Melbourne about 4 years ago.

      • This sale was fly-through TO locations beyond KL.

        • -2

I'm no trained mathematician but I think $54 is a lesser amount than $67.

        • @altomic: A lesser amount for a lesser product. Your point being?

        • To be fair, AAX didn't offer fly through back then (or they had just introduced it).

        • @altomic:
You can't compare flight prices on different routes to conclude one is cheaper!

My comment was that shorter flight was TO Australia (whereas deal prices compared to are FROM Australia).

Sale fares for AirAsia TO Oz are almost always lower than fares FROM Oz in same sale. So comparing different journeys (TO rather than this deal's FROM Oz) on shorter route is not a fair price comparison.

Return leg of these flights is still cheaper eg Langkawi-Mel return $32. I am a trained mathematician and I think $32 is a lesser amount than $54 for a longer flight ;-)

  • The way Airasia booking system work is really annoying… The return leg is ONLY cheap if it is part of the return ticket… and there is no way to go around it… So if I found cheap ticket from i.e MEL-Phuket, I can't get a cheap return ticket from Penang-MEL if the cheap return ticket from Phuket-MEL sold out.

  • Syd -> Langkawi (stopover in KL, might just "miss" the connecting flight and stay in KL) $132 return!!!

    Oct 20 - Oct 25

    • nice…

some people are actually trying to get to Langkawi…

    • How will you return? Or did you simply want a cheap one way ticket?

      • +1

Ended up booking return from Langkawi to Penang $29!

I'm not much of a resort person, I just want cheap awesome food hence Penang :D

        • Great price (I did it by bus years back). I love it when promotions match up at the same time (which is why Cebu Pacific has been great).

Although Penang's beach was horrible at the time (filthy), Langkawi wasn't much better. You ideally needed swimming shoes to just go in the water. But taking a motorbike and cruising around was fun. And the chairlift view was beautiful enough from memory (very Thailand-esque).

To be honest, I wasn't in Penang long enough probably to appreciate the difference in food to the rest of Malaysia. But I liked it anyway. I've always felt there must be better places in Malaysia than these two heavily promoted places but I haven't bothered finding them out yet. It's wedged between Thailand and Indonesia so it should be promising.

        • @peterpeterpumpkin: Was in Penang a few years ago there wasn't much to do apart from eat… But the food was amazing and cheap…

Having been around most of SE Asia I can't say Malaysia is one of the hightlights…

We are spolit with the beaches here so it's hard to compare :)

  • 3 people return to Phuket one with luggage for 528, absolute BARGAIN

  • Nowhere near the bargains that were had earlier today, but ended up booking 2 tickets in mid November for 910 all up with some baggage. Flights out were nothing but flights back were the killer.

Was 300 bucks cheaper than when we went in 2013 so I'm happy-ish.

I had a look on the Airasia facebook page and they have listed the Melbourne to Bali flight (The controversial one they cancelled prior) which is direct as from 70 audone way - not via KL. So with this in mind and Jetstar flying the exact same route, it may be worth putting in a price beat guarantee claim - though I had a look at the price best guarantee conditions and Jetstar pretty make it near to to impossible to claim. Keep in mind that in November, Scoot airlines will start flying to Melbourne and with Cebu Pacific flying to Sydney now, seems the heat is definately on.

  • Gutted I couldn't go personally but managed to buy a couple as gifts as a thank you for a lot of support!!

Now to wait till this happens again - won't even tell the wife - just book!! Hhahaha

  • Anyone know if there are any concequences if you skip the second leg of your trip?

    • +1

I think thats been covered in the previous messages in this post :) Have a read on page 1

  • +1

Sorry! The last seat for that fare was just scooped up while you were browsing. Please reselect your flights with another fare or time.

    NOoooooo

  • +1

Where are the bargains?, nothing from Melbourne.

    • All sold -_- darn it, knew I shoulda skipped dinner to bargain

Still alot of return fares for cheap from HKT, Langkawi return $32 (Nov 1st)

    • The seats sold out quickly. We booked about 4 hours ago and there was plenty available at the time

  • Sydney there is one cheap flight left to Phuket - 15th Sep returning 20th Sep, $143 return.

  • Just had a look - all the fares where at least $300 from Sydney :-(

    • would I be better having 7hr 40 min layover in KL, so I can exit the airport and explore, or 4hr layover (assuming with 4 hours I can't exit or do anything except wait for the flight)? I have never been to KL before.

      • pretty sure KL airport is far from the city so not worth it

        • About 30 mins to the city using the express train at the airport.

  • +1

cheapest I have ever seen Perth to Thailand / Vietnam …would instant buy if it wasnt for several trips alreayd planned this year plus a new baby…lol :)

  • all gone ?

  • +1

This was my favorite Airasia deal, ahead of the 'Xpecially for you, Get 50% off your flight fares' cheap Business last year!
My Girlfriend and I are going to Penang for the first time in Oct. Can't wait!

    • Agreed. Thanks OP

  • +1

So sad I missed out :( that's what I get for not checking ozbargain site often enough, while on my current holiday in Bali (courtesy of the "ozbargain" Jetstar deal, of course)

    • +2

Rub it in, why don't you? Sorry, I mean the sunscreen - you missed a spot on your shoulder…

  • I was way too late to the party.

  • :(

  • is 300 bucks each way a reasonable deal from melb to phuket on a normal day? I'm looking at november

    • It's about standard

    • +1

The full price is probably $800, as in the most you'd normally see from a budget airline. I have seen quite a few sales for buy one get one free and half price Thailand flights with Jetstar etc that works out to $450 ish including baggage etc, personally I wouldn't buy at 600+ as i've seen it much cheaper many times.

      • Cheers. Think I'll wait a couple months to see if any more deals come up.

  • Any cheap flights from these Asian cities to Europe?

  • please delete Melbourne Langkawi,
    All sold out.

    • melbourne to all are pretty much sold out

  • Might need to be flagged as expired. Definitely nothing for any destination from OOL

    • reported to the MOds already,, waiting for them to update the deal.

  • -3

Seems misleading or is it me.

    Cant find any flights for:
    Sydney Langkawi AU$ 87.00 —-> $132 return !!

There are return from Langkawi flights for $45
Nothing outgoing from Sydney @ $87!!!???

    • +7

It's misleading because you come in 18 hours after the deal was posted and can't find any fares? Welcome rookie.

      • -2

An update on the website or deal would be nice…?

Thank you for your friendly reply…

        • It's common sense that fares because less available as time passes. Once everything is completely gone, the deal will be marked as expired.

    • +1

It's cute that you expect there to still be cheap prices on the specific routes you want so long after the sale started… you have to move fast or you miss out.

      • Yup.. I bought mine within an hour or so of it being online and as soon as I booked there was no Melbourne to Phuket left from October 10th onward

  • Any cheap return fares from Melbourne left? I haven't been able to find any. Not fussy about flight time.

    • only to bali from what I can see..

      • to and from

  • -7

This is just a marketing stunt, how many cheapest ever fares do they have for each route? may be 10 each, pathetic.

    • Less than $150 return to Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and its a marketing stunt? I say lets have more stunts..

    • Someone is sooky they didn't get in on time…

  • +1

If I get a Perth to Penang, does anyone know if I can just ditch the penang leg and just get off in KL? (I'm assuming the hub is in KL).

And on the way back, get on in KL to Perth if its a penang to Perth ticket?

Anyone skipped a leg before with Airasia on flight deals like this?

  • Someone fill me in on what happens if you miss a connecting flight. I've only ever traveled to KL, so what happens exactly? Do we clear immigration in KL and just stroll out of the airport?

    • You get your boarding pass for both flights when you check in.

When you leave your gate you have no choice but to walk a very long way to the terminal area. You either turn one way to go through customs or the other way to go back into the terminal and to your gate.

You just need to go back into the terminal via security and then you go to your gate and fly out again.
