        • @juicedpixels: thats what i thought , but she was saying anz may hold to sent the cards, so i need to do id verification - doesnt make any sense at all, lets see what the branch person said tomorrow.

i wonder if this is only happens for black, anyone here has received their black card?

  • Have any other self-employed people applied for this deal? If so, were you approved and any comments on the time/effort involved for verification process with ANZ?

    • Hi, help my Dad with his application for basic ff card and approved within 60 seconds
and yes he is a self employed

  • Just received a text from ANZ: Due to unforeseen circumstances, your new ANZ credit cards have been delayed but should be delivered to you by xx/xx, We apologise for any inconvenience

    • +2

      • this for sure!

  • Just wondering if you can use the Qantas FF points to fly with their partner airlines like Emirates

    • -3

      Qantas and Jetstar.. that's it..

Emirates have their own FF miles program and those are the points they use

    • you can use Qantas FF points for flights on:
      Qantas
      Jetstar
      Emirates
      BA
      Cathay
      Finnair
      JAL
      LAN
      Qatar
      China Eastern
      Alitalia
      Fiji Airways
      American Airlines
      etc
      etc

      TL;DR YES

    • +2

      Yes and no.
You can, but get very poor value when redeeming for codeshare / other airlines.

  • applied over the phone on the 18th, called them today cause I hadnt heard anything, the guy said he couldnt see the application in the system at all.. awesome

    • happened to my housemate, she applied again and got approved within 60 seconds

      • -1

pretty annoying, it took like 20 minutes so cant really be f'd applying again

        • Just spoke to them again, they cant see the application but tell me its being assessed, dont see how that makes sense! Its now been 2 weeks. This bank seems pretty useless right now, I have an access account and another credit card with them but they are making me think I should move elsewhere

  • Apply 3 times after reading comments about re-applying, got 2 rejection letters in mailbox got 1 phone call following up the regular card and got sent a black card with $15k on it. CS hung up on me trying to clarify a few things over the phone. Gotta love this bank.

  • I applied the basic one and I got only 25000 qantas points in statement.. just wondering where is my rest of 25000 points

    • I just checked mine and I can see 50k under "Bonus & Promotional Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned this period"!

  • What happens to these points if we cancel the card within 12 months? Can we transfer them somewhere.

    • +1

Once they post to your QFF account they are with Qantas, not ANZ.
Cancelling will have no impact on this.

      • How long does it take for ANZ to transfer the points to Qantas?

  • +2

Had a look on my online banking account for the 2 cards (1 normal, 1 platinum), it says I've received 50k for each card. So applying for 2 cards will give you 50k points each. Win

    • did you get it on the second month billing? in T&C saying the 4th month billing statement.

      • It seems if youve made the qualifying spend ($1500 the point come up in the 2nd month of billing)

        • This has been the case for me

    • Are these in your qantas account yet?

      • Have not received the points in my qantas account yet, but I'll give it another month as I only just hit the $1500 spend in the second month of billing which I'm yet to receive the statement for.

  • +1

I have applied for 2 of the cards. 6 days apart. I got the 50k points today for the first card. Fingers crossed the next lot of 50k comes up next week!

    • +2

Let us all know the outcome :D

    • does it shown 0 for qantas bonus points in your second card?

      • +1

mine does, 50k on one and 0 for the other (funnily enough 50k on the one that i haven't spent 1.5k on), but i noticed the statement periods are different. the one that just finished the statement cycle has the points. the other is still current in the first and has 0. Hopefully they award them at the new cycle.

        • well they've both ticked over now and no 50k for the platinum :(

        • @poop: :(

        • +2

@lolmao: Called up ANZ they rekn wait til the 3rd statement cycle ticks over as that is the terms of the offer. If it's not in by then give them another call. Guess I'll just give that a try!

        • @poop:

I see, I was waiting on the confirmation before applying for the platinum.

    • Yeah mate! let us know if you get the second lot!

  • +1

I got my 50k points after only 1k spend.

  • I've also received 50k points into my QFF account. I believe this was before I actually spent anything on the card at all! I haven't received my first statement yet, and I've only done a couple of purchases so far.

I applied for Black first. I've since applied for the regular and platinum cards.

  • +1

Do you reckon I can get the ANZ FF http://www.anz.com/personal/credit-cards/rewards-frequent-fl… and my partner gets the ANZ FF black http://www.anz.com/personal/credit-cards/black/anz-frequentf… and then if we spend $3000 for the next 3 months we ll get 100 000 points ?
I tried to check the condition can't find anything saying we can't.

edit : read more comments looks like it will work :)

  • +1

I seem to also have 50,000 listed in my online banking before meeting the $1,500 spend….tempted to apply for the another card now :p

  • got approved FF black card one month ago and applied for Platinum today but got referred. Anyone got the same situation? Have you tried to re-apply? or just wait for the outcome?

    • i had a similar issue as I already had a platinum card with ANZ with 36.5k limit. They asked me to shift 15k of that to open black card. No brainer…hello 50k points!

      • When you move limit to open cards, do you get charged annual fee for that black too?

i asked at the bank if i upgraded my FF to Black would i get charged fees and they said yes, can't waive that in the branch.

  • -1

as a complete aside virgin has the best F program in Aus

  • +3

I just got my 50,000 points from the ANZ FF cards and another 50,000 points from my ANZ FF Platinum cards

100,000 points !!!!!!!!! wooohooo!! :) also got 40,000 points from the CBA deal but got the fee waved so got them for ZERO dollars !!! woohooo again haha

FYI- if you have the ANZ FF card and ANZ FF Platinum card and you spend $1,500 on one card they give you the $50,000 points for both of them … Both were linked to my ANZ netbank so not sure if that had anything to do with it.

AAWWEEESOME!!!! no need to spend $3,000

This is what happened to me

    • @vid_ghost for the CBA deal, did you receive the email offer from Qantas? Or just applied through the netbank link? And how did you get the fee waived? And how long to receive the points?

      • +1

Applied via the link after talking to a CBA sales rep over chat.. ended up filling in the form VIA a netbank link he sent me ( link here -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/152827 )

They ended up sending me a standard rewards card not platinum so i called to cancel the standard rewards cards CBA Amex+Mastercard combo as they were not valid for the 40,000 points promo… The CBA staff over the phone ended up giving me the 40,000 points and refunded me the annual fee $65 … lol cant go wrong with that level of service +1 for sure. $10 fee for changing to Qantas FF I'm not sure will be refunded.

    • yeah how'd you manage the fee waiver from CBA? I got the email and applied through there.
Also regarding ANZ, i only see the 50k on one card..funnily enough the card i havent spent the 1.5k on yet..the other that i've spent 1.5k dones have any points!

      • yeah that's odd! i dont think ANZ have ironed out the glitches with this promo!

  • +1

You must be lucky (and appears that a few others were too)…

I've got the FF and FF Black. Scored 50k on the FF after spending $1.5k, but nothing yet on the FF Black (only spent $783.40 so far) =(

    • +1

funny you should say that because i spent $1590 on one the FF Platinum and $780 on the FF - got 50k for both so who knows whats going on.. anyways at 100,000 points now so all done with this deal.

      • Well done

        • thanks to the OP for posting this deal Ive scored myself free money pretty much

  • still only seeing it on the one account (FF), platinum ff shows nothing. anyone else?

    • i got mine last week on my PLatinum card and posted to my QFF account today. and i notice today i received my statement notification from ANZ to my email, i have not spend $1500 but Close enough around $1400. so im guessing they will transfered your QFF point in statement cycle.

Just activated my Black card last night, will start using it and see if it happens the same.

  • Two questions

    • Does it matter what card I get (standard or Black) in my only intention is to get the points and cancel?

    • Can my wife also do it in her name and get 50k also? We have seperate QF FF accounts.

    • Both cards offer the 50k bonus points fee free. And yes wifey can also apply

      • Might have to get the whole family involved!

  • black has a min limit of $15,000 Plat has a limit of $6000 and FF has a limit of $1000

Allot of people can get the Plat and FF but not everyone can get the Black as the minimum limit is pretty high

  • Another one with 50,000 points after spending $1,100.
Thanks OP and ANZ! Time to cancel in few months time and back to Citibank Signature.\
Wondering, if I should apply for a normal ANZ FF Card to get additional 50,000 points. Can't get black though :(

  • Just looked at the Qantas Club eligibility on Domestic lounges, and it states Qantas Business class travel as a requirement.

Does anyone know if this apply for the Complimentary passes.

I was under the impression that the Qantas Club access just needed a Jetstar or Qantas flight ticket, alongside membership/complimentary pass

    • That's if you don't have a pass or Qantas club membership.
So the pass gives you free access on economy/premium economy flights

      • silly me, i thought it was together

        • No problem - business class you get free access - well you pay more for your tickets which gives you access

    • I used the QC in BNE and they didnt even ask to see a BP to see if I even had a flight that day. Just waltzed right in. Had a feed of lasagne and a few toasties, gulped as much alco as I could, got value from it and then boarded my flight! I did go in 2.5 hrs before my flight too!!

  • I got the black card a month ago, and applied for the regular FF since everyone else seems to be doing this to get the 100K points. I applied for a $2K limit. Got referred. Got a call today and they questioned why i applied for two cards in a month. I said i wanted a card with a lower limit and he said he'll process it, but it looks like they might be onto the 100k points thing. Hopefully i still get approved. Guess it's not a big deal if i only get 50k points, but 100k would be nice!

    • The minimum limit for the black is 15K so not sure why you applied for 2k, re his question, who cares it's your decision and you want to take advantage of the offer at hand.

      • +1

Sorry, i got 15K on the black. Applied for 2K on the normal FF. I agree though, it's weird that they questioned it, which made me think that they realised they have stuffed up their terms and conditions and are kind of trying to stop people double dipping for the points?

  • Not directly related to this deal - but I got a NAB card (20,000 points, $65 fee) recently. I spent on it once, got my points within a few weeks, just closed it, and they don't appear to have charged me the annual fee.

May not always work, but for people hunting cheap points, 20,000 for $65 is still very cheap.

    • I got the same card recently and I think you fluked it as the fee was on my first statement. But they transferred the 20k points like instantly to QFF so all good :)
BTW: how did you close it? On the phone? Did they hassle you or ask why?

      • Phone. They asked if I got it for the points only, I said yes, but that I was closing it because I wanted to clean up my credit history.

Felt a bit guilty (not a true Ozbargainer at heart I guess), but happy to have boosted by points so easily.

        • +1

I'll leave mine a few months to make it seem less obvious.
I have 100,000 coming from ANZ also so plenty of points now

        • @juicedpixels:
Yeah, I would have left mine for longer too, but I reasoned that I might dodge the annual fee if I jumped on it.

  • I have spent $1500 on my card but 50000 bonus point is not yet in the account.
How long for you to receive this bonus point? I know it says after 3 months but some of you have already received it.

    • Spend .. wait for the next points refresh month and your points will come! you must have just missed the last one.

  • Is anyone going to continue to use their Black card for the whole year? Its basically a free QFF pts card? why would you go back to the citibank sig within the free year for the black?

    • I guess depends if you fly more with Qantas or VA and if you use your Citi Sig for VA then you go back to it ;) that is what we ll do :)

  • See this deal I posted for the AMEX Black Card: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/156211
Gives you free access to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Five Star Status.

  • Wow a lot of peeps got 100,000 points? I don't get how you managed to sign up for two credit cards with the one bank though. Just do it a week apart? Or get the gf to sign up and just put my QFF number in?

EDIT: Damn, applied for the Black and got referred… needed to submit a bunch of documents (payslips, proof of other income, etc). I wonder if that's just because I'm not an ANZ AU customer.

    • +1

I dunno if a lot of peeps got 100k points, but a lot of peeps, me included applied and got approved for 2 cards . The first lot of 50k is showing for me, but not the 2nd yet ;( still waiting alrhough I did apply for the second account some 9
      Days after the first

    • I signed up for both cards at the same time… FF with a limit of $1000 ( minimum i could pick ) and Plat with a limit of $6000 … i should have also signed up fro the black as well for $15000 limit to get

150,000 Points but i'm not sure my credit limit could be pushed that high!

      • i did the same..hoping the second lot comes through soon! considering the black too! but i also did the citibank deal so to many cc's i think!

        • They're pretty annoyed on the phone when they ring you about subsequent apps.
Combined credit card limits over 30k require ANZ management approval also.

        • +1

          @juicedpixels:

          $15000 + $6000 + $1000 The 3 minimums limits on each card is not $30,000
Also, if they don't want us to have more credit cards then they should just refuse the application.. if they are annoyed at us applying then that's their problem for making it an option.. nothing states we cant have 10 cards of the same kind from them!

I should have got myself 15 FF cards with a limit of $1000 each to get myself 750,000 Qantas FF points… Someone should give it a go!

That's $5000 worth of Gift cards LOLOLOLOL

        • @vid_ghost: I had an existing ANZ card with a 15k limit

  • Smashed the $1500 spend on the black but yet to see the points, despite this applied for platinum and got approved. My third CC with AZN in 5 weeks.

  • +2

I have applied for the classic card and just found that 50000 QFF is credited to my Qantas account even though I haven't spent $1500 :)

  • Does anyone know if there's a supplementary card holder fee for the black cards for the first year?

    • No it isn't. From the 'Credit Fees and Charges' section in your Letter of Offer…

The Annual Account Fee and Rewards Program Services Fee are not payable in the first year.

The Additional Cardholder Fee is not payable in the first year

      • Has anyone tried requesting additional card? Do we call customer service or go to a branch? I remember there was no option for additional cardholder in credit card signup wizard.

      • Nice, thinking to get additional black card so me and my partner would able to access the Veloce lounge overseas
i would need to check my letter of offer

  • +2

sounds like an FF bubble coming… QFF points deflation recession… straight ahead

  • Can anyone else here confirm that they have received both lots of 50000 points if theyve applied for more than one of these cards? Ive been given 1 lot and its credited already to my FF account, but the 2nd lot isnt even showing on my ANZ account yet. And I have made the $1500 qualifying spend

    • I have received 2 lots of 50k points already.
Signed up for the first one 3rd Jul and 2nd one 3 weeks ago.

      • good to know they will honour 50k for both accounts then,,,,just a matter of waiting i guess
