      • may i know which cards you have applied for?

        • I applied for the standard and the black

        • Same here, got the 50k in platinum, nothing yet in black.

  • When is the 50k meant to be sent to our nominated QFF account?
I have still yet to receive my 50k but received about 1k for regular spending.

      1. After you spend $1500
      2. Your next bill cycle.

Otherwise, I think the official ANZ answer is 3 months after you spend $1500.

      • Ah..thank you very much

  • does anyone know if i only spent $500 and already received 50,000 points in my QFF account… do i still need to continue spending till $1500 within first 3 months? do they have the power to reverse the points if i didn't spend $1500..?

  • I spent $1500 in the first month and still don't have the points, and it's been 2 months now. Some people are just lucky i guess, doesn't seem to be any kind of method or process as to why some people have the points and some don't…

    • Does your account say how many points have been earned?

Before they transferred the points to my account (on Saturday), when I reached the $1500 spend, it showed the bonus 50,000 points earned when I checked online.

Also, was yours Black? Mine was just the standard FF CC account.

      • Yep i can see the normal points i have earned, but no bonus as yet and i've spent almost $2,000. I got the black card.

        • Same here, spent over $1.5K on the AMEX and nearly $1.5K on the VISA and still no bonus points showing.

        • Maybe it's worth ringing up and asking to confirm if you were signed up for the promotion?

        • me too, i spent more than $4,000 for the past 2 months but still haven't sighted the 50k points.

        • Yea same here. just the regular points, not the bonus points

        • @jasonlka: Mine came about a week after getting to $1500.

          @JohnHowardsEyebrows:

I think they're probably misentering which award people are on.

That is the ANZ awards 50,000 points is for first purchase.

        • @Baghern: Potentially why I don't yet have my 50,000 points on the normal rewards card I got.

WHY THE HELL MUST I GO TO BRANCH? JUST ACTIVATE THE DAMN CARD ON THE PHONE!! YOU ARE THE ONLY BANK THAT NEEDS TO ACTIVATE AT THE BRANCH!

AND STOP NEGGING ME! I AM JUST TRYING TO VOICE OUT MY FRUSTRATIONS AND WILL TAKE ANZ TO ASIC COMPLAINT.

    • I recently got nAB 20k and had to activate at branch.

    • It's the law, they have to check your ID and verify who you are for AML/CTF requirements.

      • they could verify it online like all the other banks. i was totally pissed off when i had to goto a branch the first time i opened an anz account too.

  • Anyone received the 50k on the black card yet?
My friend and I have both spent over 1.5k on our blacks and have had statements since the spend but still have received nothing.

    • Nope haven't received my bonus points either. Will have to give them a call.

    • in your rewards points page when is your summary updated since , mine is 8/08/2014

  • i thought it says on the terms and conditions that "it takes up to three months for the bonus 50k points to show up" ? if so, did anyone actually call in and got the 50k upon request before the three months are up?

  • I got the basic card and I've got my 50,000 pts already without spending $1500. Is there any point signing up for a platinum card as well to get another 50,000? Do I need to cancel the first card so that I am a 'new' customer?

    • So, new accounts for existing customers are fine

  • just out of curiosity, does anyone know what happens if you forget to quote your FF number during sign up and go on a spending spree :P

    • +1

I asked that question over the phone with them and they said they would store the points earned on their side until you nominate a QFF number to them. It will then theoretically be pushed to the nominated QFF at the start of your next billing cycle.

I've now got 150,000 points sitting in my Qantas account thank you ANZ :)

    1x 50,000 from ANZ FF
1x 50,000 from ANZ FF Plat
1x 50,000 from CBA awards after calling and complaining

Will give it a few months then call to cancel everything including savings account to get the $100 bonus cash

  • +4

Sweet; got my 50k points! Going to wait until I get the $100 for the other anz deal and then close accounts.

These dudes are legit the shittest bank. I had to wait almost 45 minutes at their Sydney CBD branch to get my card activated and the queue times are always bad at that place. And they also charge more fees than NAB etc. I have no idea what tard would ever bank with ANZ.

ANZ: thanks for the free cash.

  • Does anyone know, how much is 50k ANZ rewards points if converted to Velocity Points?

  • Hey guys, just curious what would happen with the "Extended Warranty" that this credit card provides once the credit card is cancelled?

I bought ps4 and TV lately, and both come with 1 year standard warranty. I am thinking of cancelling this credit card before the 2nd year.
    Thanks

There is an obvious answer, "…be a current participating cardholder at the date of any
      claimable event; and……"

  • Thanks signed up yesterday approved today. Thanks.

  • Just saw this has been marked expired so ignore post

  • It seems the deal has been extended until October 27… should a mod un-expire this deal to keep the comments/discussion all in once place or create a new one?

    • +1

But NO waive of annual fee any more for Qantas FF cards.
ANZ reward cards still get first year annual fee waived.

      • Oh dear that is a deal-breaker, lol.

Sorry mods, better cancel/expire the deal again!

        • +1

Well, for the base card $95 isn't bad for 50,000 points, which is $500 at 1 point:1 cent. I'm glad I got black and platinum first though - once I get my bonus on those I'm thinking about getting the base as well.

  • I just called ANZ regarding my 2nd lot of 50,000 points, as I applied for 2 of these cards. I did receive the first lot for one of the cards, but was told there is no way they will pay out a 2nd lot. It is expressly forbiden to cash in twice I was told. Now either the ANZ rep had her info complertely wrong or some people here are telling porkies, that they have received not only 100000 points but Ive also read someone has claimed to have received 150000 points.

    • Oh no. I'm still waiting for the second lot and thought this may be the case.

    • Terms and conditions state once per card. They'll have to honour it.

      • I tried expalining that. The operator wouldnt have a bar of it. Ill call again Monday morning.

        • The word 'ombudsman' tends to have a peculiar effect on their behaviour.

    • I havent even received mine 50000 yet and when i called them they said it an take up to 3-4 months to get it. At least some of you already got it and can cancel your card.

    • +3

Why can't people wait for at least 2 months before making call? At least now ANZ know you have 2 cards and if they decide no bonus for people applying 2 cards, you would be the first one that would not get bonus.

      • +1

Agreed, and what part of the four months isn't clear?

  • Hmm, not sure where I stand. Applied for my second card on the 24th, was told I'd need to send verification of my salary, which I did on the 24th, and someone called on Thursday saying it still wasn't received, so I sent again. Assuming now that since it's expired, and I wasn't approved in time, I won't be eligible.

  • This offer has been extended it seems - http://promo.anz.com/credit-cards/frequent-flyer-cards/?cid=… - fine print now says 27 October 2014.

    • +1

      No, check the annual fee.

  • Just got my first statement in the mail today and realised the visa earn rate is 1.5 points for $2 spend (ie 0.75 points per dollar). Guess I'll switch back to my citibank signature visa once I hit my $1500 spend!

  • Has anyone used the black card for OS lounge access yet? Keen to know how they got on. Do they just need to see the card? Or do they put through a Txn?

    • what is a Txn?

      • Sorry, accounting lingo.
        Txn = transaction

        • going to try it in tokyo lounge in early oct, will gv an update how it goes. hopefully no drama.

    • Will give it a go in a months time in Singapore

Though from reading reviews these lounges are shared by heaps of companies like ANZ so are pretty average.

The reviews I've read even tells you to skip it and enjoy Changi.

Will use it for a rest and shower though

    • +2

I used it at Dubai airport about 3 weeks ago and they scan your card in their machine (like an eftpos machine). Haven't seen it as a transaction on my netbank (yet), but I'm guessing the scanning is to check if it's active or not.

      • +2

Just also confirming that I'm sitting in the London Heathrow lounge using my FFB and again they scanned it in their machine to check validity. Enjoying a couple of Hennessy's on the rocks before my flight is nice way to ease into the 27hr'ish flight.

        • Thanks for the intel. Good to know you can't use the card after it's canceled.

  • +1

Since this offer has been extended with new terms and conditions (no waiver on the first annual fee) you may be scratching around for the old promo details because you didn't save a copy at the time of application.

WayBack Machine to the rescue with a copy from: 19 Aug 14. The key point of difference compared to the new offer:

Total Annual Fee from Year 2 is $XXX

Must have been seen too many applications for their liking…

  • Did anyone take a screen shot of this showing the first year annual fee being waived as my husband has just been charged the fee and when you click on the link the T&C's have changed

    • This is a worrying development…

    • How long has he had the card? No fees here and have had it for 2 months.
There is this new deal which is similar but you have to pay annual fee -
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/159935

Maybe he didn't apply for the original in time?

      • latest deal includes the fee. which card is it?

I'd call them and complain, ask to have it waived

    • Check the offer pack, I had mine approved on the second last day and in the Offer pack it makes mention of no annual fee in the first year.

  • He applied right at the end of the promotion, but was approved in time. He applied over the phone because our income is a bit complicated. He confirmed with the guy on the phone that' there would be no fee. Anyway it had been waived, but the lady on the phone yesterday was adamant there is a fee.

    • keep complaining and ask them to listen to the call records.

  • it seems many Ozbargain fellow selling their ANZ qantas Lounge pass.
going to use it at Sydney international airport, will decide whether it worth to keep.

    • I didnt know they listed any lounges in Australia on their list??

      • Ive used it in Syndey and Brisbane

        • how was it? the food and all?

        • @ishe:

I am talking about the 2 qantas passes redeemable with the black card. Not the Veloce lounge access internationaly

        • @MelbBargainChaser77: how was the sydney lounge? im planning to use it before boarding.

        • @ishe:
Nice. Similar to Melb. I even had fresh hot Lasagne that day…a nice chnge from the usual toasties!!

        • @MelbBargainChaser77:

Do you see people taking doggy bags/containers for on flight meals…

      • +1

I didnt know they listed any lounges in Australia on their list??

They are talking about the free qantas lounge single use passes you can request with the black card

        • Oh yeah, thanks!!
I forgot about those, i haven't requested mine!

    • Can the complementary lounge pass be sold? How much can they be sell for?

Here is the T&C on the lounge pass…

        1. Offer only available to ANZ Frequent Flyer Black account holders. Account holders may request no more than two Qantas Club Lounge invitations in any 12 month period by calling the ANZ Personal Concierge on 1300 580 765.
        • Can an additional cardholder separately request 2 Qantas lounge visits?

Note that additional cardholders also get free access to international Veloce lounges.

        • @Holysmoke:

          I highly doubt that.

note "account holder", not card holder

      • I have seen them being sold on ebay for around $120 for the pair.

  • i applied before the deadline but only got approved in sept. i wonder if they are going to charge me the annual fee? on what date exactly did they change the terms and conditions about the annual fee not being waived in the first year? my wife applied after me and i didn't notice that the annual fee was payable. i only wish we had applied for multiple anz ff cards before they changed the terms. i guess you can still get multiple bonus sign up points if you apply for the 3 anz rewards cards with the annual fee waived for the 1st year instead? does anyone know if anz allow you to transfer credit limits between anz cards.ie decrease the limit on first anz card and increase it on the other anz card?

    • copy-paste from my saved application:
*Offer available to new and approved applicants w ho apply for an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent
Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account by 26 August 2014. The bonus Qantas
Points and $0 Total Annual Fee of fer is not available in conjunction with other of fers, packages or
promotions or when you transfer or close an existing ANZ credit card.

  • Still no sign of the bonus point in my account, anyone on the same boat?

    • I'm also waiting. I've also come to realise no incentive for me to use the ANZ Black visa card given the Citibank Signature Visa earns more QFF.

      • Use the ANZ Black AMEX where accepted with no fee for 1.5FFpoint/$ as opposed to 1ff/$ with Citi Visa

        • Also iirc, the Citibank Signature card incurs a $49 annual fee to link it to QFF.
